I've watched almost every episode. The ups and downs got me through some tough times. Just lost my dad, my job and my woman. In a week. None of this was due to any fault of my own. I am so glad to have a new episode to watch today. Wish I was with you guys. Love and hugs
Kris I have had a year similar to yours. The universe is telling you it’s time for you to do the things you’ve always wanted to do. Maybe we will see you as a crew member on a sailing channel one day. Seize this opportunity my friend. I hope your sadness passes, & is replaced with new wonderful adventures. Much love. 💗
I went through the same thing, only it was all in about 4-5 months, not a week.. it's been over 20 yrs now and I still miss my dad, but otherwise the rest is just part of history, I'm happier than before I lost the job and wife... There will be better times ahead even if right now it's hard to imagine, hang in there!!
Colin, you would have to be one of the nicest humans I have ever had the pleasure of following on you tube. Love your attitude to life and your encouragement to others. You are a credit to your self and also your parents. They should be proud to have a son that they have raised to be as inspirational as you. Credit to you all. Only just discovered your channel due to Sailing La Vagabond, but have binge watched ever since. Love your channel and all your crew ❤ Jamie is gold ❤
Great episode guys! I had to smile when early in the episode, Colin is on watch with Mcflys head on his lap and Lindo is all the way on the other side of the giving Mcfly the evil eye. Even though Lindo is much bigger and stronger Mcfly is still the boss as he was full grown when Colin got Lindo and could be carried in Colin’s hand. Another stunt they both do is if it’s raining and I would get up to get a better look at the auto pilot they would immediately try to sit in the spot I had been in. Such characters and I miss them.
Everyone fantasizes about champagne sailing in perfect conditions, but in reality those are rare moments. Thanks for showing the real side of dealing with Mother Nature. Its very cool to see your crew work so well together. You really have something special Colin. Cheers mate 🍻
I am always totally entranced watching you each Sunday morning when your new video is listed. You live a wonderful life, and I can’t imagine you, Jamie or Brit ever living on land. Please stay safe, and thank you for giving the land locked person a feeling that I am sailing again.
A great episode Colin. I really appreciate the way you will have episodes with the great sailing lifestyle, exploring new areas and meeting new friends. Then you add an episode like this to remind people that there are different, more challenging aspects to the cruising life that people need to think about as well. That coupled with great descriptions, tips and tricks makes this the best sailing chanel on the web!
Been following you since day one and honestly didn't subscribe because if my "principals" towards data collection.....but you guys changed my mind for I just had to support you in any way shape or form...the least I could do was subscribe and help the yt algorithms show you some favour. The past 4 years has thrown me some pretty hefty challenges, but still standing thanks to my salty legs 😉 so when my economic situation changes a round of beer and a pair of pig ears for the dogs are heading your way. Guys, thanks a million for all the many smiles you put on so many faces and hearts aswell as inspiring people with joy and courage to go taste their own dreams and make them reality ❣ 57 ft Lagoon was my first passage boat with 4 amazing souls....some of the best years of my life....which I can recall instantly when watching your episodes. Keep 'em coming and again, thanks a million 🙏
I look forward to this TH-cam show every Sunday! I only wish it were longer and could watch it daily. Love this channel ❤️ seeing the world through Parlay and the crew!
Non sailor, no zero about sailing or what happens on a sail boat, but still tune in every week since I found this channel couple months back as it educational and fun, always a highlight for my Monday morning, mean Parley
I'm up to the 11th episode of binge watching for the 5th time about the bulkhead rebuild !! and guess what , I was about to go to bed and I see this New episode ... so more watching
it's good that nowadays there are such accurate weather forecasts and programs that help plan the course of the boat quite accurately, the video is useful
I really love this episode the rawness of it. Really really enjoyed it. Thank you Colin. And the whole parlay crew. Cheers from LIZ in California.⛵️🤟🏻🐬😎🇺🇸
Ahoy Parley Revival, I have finally caught up to your latest episode, I have been binge-watching your episodes over the last two weeks from your very first to this one. What you are doing is something I have planned and it was in researching for this I discovered you, and having been a Below Deck fan first made it all the better. As someone who drives ships and plans ocean passages first on paper charts and obviously now on electronic ones. It is a fundamental part of planning that you check all along your route in detail for any dangers and ideally, at least 2-5 nautical miles on either side to ensure you don't have a hidden danger that is not shown on a small scaled chart, even more so on electronic ones as details are variable depending on the zoom you are using as you have highlighted. Keep that boat safe and the adventures continuing as you complete your circumnavigation.
I absolutely love this channel Colin, you and the crew are some of the most humorous people around and very knowledgeable about the boat and its capabilities and the actual weather conditions. It is great to see you guys and the dogs sailing again.
you only live once, and looking at your videos shows you do the right thing brother. live and do what you want to do. after 20 years you done a lot ;-)
Thanks Colin for the more RAW and REAL feel to this video…. Most the popular channels I watch are getting way too “pristine” in video quality/editing in my opinion… I’ve noticed I’ve started looking for more start up sailing influencers lately 🧐 guess that’s why I started watching you and Jamie back in the fiberglass days! 🔥guess you get really good at making videos at sea!!!!
Did I just witness Colin tearing up a bit, as he missed his watch and felt like he let down his crew? This is what being a man looks like. You’re a good soul, and clearly a man of integrity. Thanks for the apparent insight into what makes you tick, even if I misread it.
Speaking from experience Colin, your dogs should wear life jackets at all times while onboard!..I lost a dog when she fell overboard. The water was rough and choppy. She went under and we never found her!..devasting..after that our dogs wear life jackets while onboard..they will get used to it..❤
Hey Colin, I’m happy you got to sleep in, perhaps you are exhausted from the last few months, and just winding down from so much living of life. Don’t be hard on yourself, at times we need rest and recovery, being a captain is a huge responsibility you do so well..
Appreciate all of the information in this episode! As a young buck wanting to buy a boat down the line these episodes are more than helpful to get me feeling more confident to be able to do something similar later in my life. So thank you Colin & crew, yall are amazing 👌
Thanks Colin and Team Parlay! Another awesome episode as always!!! Hopefully we will get to see you in Australia in the not too distant future. Thanks as always for continuing to create such incredible positive content!!!
Each week, I am impressed with your knowledge and skills about all aspects of sailing. This week, your clear explanation of weather challenges puts you in the league of top meteorologist. I had a 30 yr career in the software industry, and on this episode, I wondered how those before you were able to cross the world on water without the technology now available to assist in safe passage.
How ironic is it that here in the States we switch our clocks back an hour this weekend (fall back) to end daylight savings time. This video reminded me to go around the house and turn all of the clocks back. Thanks Colin
I love long passages with good crew, and good weather. You do get into a groove, watches, meals, reading etc... Another great well produced video, kudus to all. PS, love your late coming on watch penalty!
Looked like a wery tasty omelette Cap! Going up when wind strenght is low and down the wind when gusts come is what i do to adjust pressure when i am windsurfing and also what I did when I used to sail my trimaran. All is good :-) I understand that is not the most comfortable sailing, but. You are on a catamaran, life could be soo much more discomfortable sailing on a monohull. Thanks for keeping all of us desktopsailors updated to how life should be lived! :-)
The ECMWF model (in my opinion also) is the most accurate model I've used for flight planning. Whether for surface conditions or winds aloft, I'm sure the case is true for sea state as well. Loved the more "nerdy" 🤓 episode.
I realize I just a nobody texting on TH-cam. But I wanted you to know that you're videos have inspired me. I'm 61 years old, divorced. My kids are grown and moved away and I felt my life was over.
I bet the crew will enjoy those 12 beers more knowing the Captain had to pony up for them... lol I have to say, it's great to see the dogs again, just felt right to see them both with you at the helm...❤
Another great episode guys and some really good explanations of how the wind patterns can change so quickly, I have never sailed far from NZ coastal waters with any of the friends that I've been with so this was very interesting 👍👍🇳🇿
Wonderful stuff Skipper and Crew. ...Oh...and boss, I've LOST COUNT of the some of the bone mistakes I've made on subjects that I'm meant to know....I figure it's just the gods reminding us to remain humble, we are part of something much bigger than ourselves as individuals and a couple of six packs is a cheap lesson...God bless all 🤗🤗🤗
Question for the crew if you care to answer. What is the hardest thing about living on a sailboat? Love watching your adventures you’re all very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
What’s up, Colin! Since I found your channel, I’ve literally just binged through all of it and I’m genuinely wondering how a 38-year-old whose lease is up in February could get a start just making a little bit of money to get by while learning sailing. I’ve grown up on, boats my whole life, but never a sailboat. I have a little mechanical experience from high school days, construction and building was the family business and trying to stay motivated in sales when there’s not much business my passion and motivation are so low for the income. Your channel is such an inspiration. It’s all I can think about! 😂🙋♂️🤙
very interesting to get sense of daily sailing. I must have missed a couple posts I didn't realize that the crew size was small for this passage. Do you have to recruit sailors to help with the longer passages?
Great episode, Im looking forward to Vanuatu as I lived on Espiritu Santo when I was a kid, great memories of Million Dollar Point , champagne beach and climbing Sam blong trees with my NeVan mate George
We humans have a wonderful gift of forgetfulness. You will eventually only remember how great it was, that's what an adventure is. Colin, you engineered those eggs pretty well.
Hey Colin, check out Weathermans Guide to the Sun by Ben Davidson. I'm sure the models are wrong due to solar activity, and all those volcanoes are messing with the weather.
I've watched almost every episode. The ups and downs got me through some tough times. Just lost my dad, my job and my woman. In a week. None of this was due to any fault of my own. I am so glad to have a new episode to watch today. Wish I was with you guys. Love and hugs
Geez sorry to hear that mate.
Stay strong x
Great episode as always, i look forward to starting my week with you guys first thing every Monday morning. Go well Guys . Dave k (Spud)
Kris I have had a year similar to yours. The universe is telling you it’s time for you to do the things you’ve always wanted to do.

The ending statement, that you hope to be sailing until the day you die! It struck a cord! You are gifted with an occupation you love !
Non sailor here but this is still so fascinating and look forward to each episode. Thanks for sharing this incredible adventure.
Cheers Jeff!
Great episode guys!
I had to smile when early in the episode, Colin is on watch with Mcflys head on his lap and Lindo is all the way on the other side of the giving Mcfly the evil eye. haha very true Chose!

Its very cool to see your crew work so well together. You really have something special Colin. Cheers mate 🍻
So cool seeing Jeanne Socrates pop up! She’s a legend in sailing and an inspiration for us women who sail!
Yes she is!
I am always totally entranced watching you each Sunday morning when your new video is listed. You live a wonderful life, and I can’t imagine you, Jamie or Brit ever living on land. Please stay safe, and thank you for giving the land locked person a feeling that I am sailing again.
You are so welcome!
Good episode. Real life. Real people. Love those miles of smiles! Awesome!

I love seeing how you guys organize watch, cooking and chores on board. Thanks for another great episode.
Thank Jenni Poo! haha

Watching you guys every Sunday is a small escape for me to seeing what's out there. Thanks :)
Love you guys! Thanks 4 sharing your adventures with us. I always enjoy watching you catch your own food. Safe travels. ❤
I look forward to this TH-cam show every Sunday! I only wish it were longer and could watch it daily. Love this channel ❤️ seeing the world through Parlay and the crew!
This is the first time I have been in the first 20 to like an episode!!!!
Can't wait to see you show off our wonderful country Vanuatu. Hope you have a fantastic time here.
Non sailor, no zero about sailing or what happens on a sail boat, but still tune in every week since I found this channel couple months back as it educational and fun, always a highlight for my Monday morning, mean Parley
You guys are so inspirational. It’s like why do we all conform to society? Live like there’s no tomorrow. Much respect here from LA!
Another honest view of the realities of sailing.
Great episode. Love seeing the dogs sailing again. They belong on a boat always!
I'm up to the 11th episode of binge watching for the 5th time about the bulkhead rebuild !! and guess what , I was about to go to bed and I see this New episode ... so more watching

Still loving every single adventure! Such an inspiration Colin, through all the work and now into paradise. Well earned mate, well earned!

Loved the way you guys threw the Marlin back! Love the channel and vibe

Oh no! what kind of boat was it?
Great technical, practical open ocean sailing video. Excellent.
Hey Colin, I’m happy you got to sleep in, perhaps you are exhausted from the last few months, and just winding down from so much living of life. Don’t be hard on yourself, at times we need rest and recovery, being a captain is a huge responsibility you do so well..

Loved Jamie Marlin catch. I wish you had more of it. Love the training videos, this time on weather, cool. Happy Birthday Colin old man.
Cheers mate!
Thanks Colin and Team Parlay! Another awesome episode as always!!!

Nice to learn about the challenges of navigation, and the importance of zooming in on the charts. Stay safe!
Might make a permanently zoomed in screen an option.
I also hope you will be doing this for many years to come as this is the only way I will ever be able to sail the world. Thank You. ❤
How ironic is it that here in the States we switch our clocks back an hour this weekend (fall back) to end daylight savings time. This video reminded me to go around the house and turn all of the clocks back. Thanks Colin
Fun and interesting to hear the details of navving a longer passage 💨⛵️
Love 20:04 in the video where Jamie is right behind Colin, looking like he's taking a leak off the stern 🤣🥷
I enjoy following along your journey. please keep the great content coming. as always, Fair winds and following seas..

That was pretty interesting thanks Colin. Been watching for many years but think this might be the first comment. Well done and thanks for the videos.
Very happy to see you finally got rid of the old damaged window treatments. The shades look so much better.
The last 5 mins of this vid was the best content Col’s ever posted
So awesome having you guys on the Pacific rally!

Thanks for sharing. 💙
Who's the communists? Blue or Red?
The "I’m speechless“ and smirk at 12:34 😂 how could one be mad at ya 😅
I bet the crew will enjoy those 12 beers more knowing the Captain had to pony up for them... lol I have to say, it's great to see the dogs again, just felt right to see them both with you at the helm...❤

Excellent video Collin and crew. Thank you!

Don't piss into the wind is really accurate 😁 guys named Pedro always work their ass off !!!
Question for the crew if you care to answer. What is the hardest thing about living on a sailboat? Love watching your adventures you’re all very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
Paperwork?...Ah...The joys of sailing! ⚓️🍻
I fixed boats and ships in Santo 7 years ago. Have many friends there if need info or repairs or whatever. Nice nice people.
Absolutely would love to join you guys😎
a dozen is a dozen mate, cheers to the entire crew. 🤙🤙🤙
Jamie, and that sail fish. Holy crap ! That was a big fish ! lol I’ve seen other sailors handle the sail fish the same. But crazy fun ! 👋 🤬 .

Lol, if we could predict the winds and sea state we would be really rich.... Great sailing.
Yea then everyone would be doing it right!
very interesting to get sense of daily sailing. I must have missed a couple posts I didn't realize that the crew size was small for this passage. Do you have to recruit sailors to help with the longer passages?
You guys Rock 💪
Awesome Colin. Love you guys thanks so much for your videos ❤
I liked how she was cooking with one eye while looking at the waves with the other :). Wave synch cooking haha :)
Can’t wait to do the things you’re doing guys! It’s my ultimate goal!
Hey Colin, I'm curious how the new rigging sensors are performing?
Great episode, Im looking forward to Vanuatu as I lived on Espiritu Santo when I was a kid, great memories of Million Dollar Point , champagne beach and climbing Sam blong trees with my NeVan mate George
another amazing episode... wish I was out there with y'all!

Awesome episode guys.. love ya work!
What great episodes why isn’t this a reality show- positive and upbeat, real episodes
Great episode and a very important offshoring lesson, when the big guy is hungry, feed him.🙂😂
Thanks Colin ❤🤠👍
25:02 WHEN the big man’s hungry you have to feed him🎉
Hey Colin, check out Weathermans Guide to the Sun by Ben Davidson. I'm sure the models are wrong due to solar activity, and all those volcanoes are messing with the weather.
