    One of things I showed on this video is to synch your max forward position on control box with throttle position. This is to get your max rpm on your outboard. Sometime we don't realize this simple thing when questioning why we don't get max rpm. Of course other considerations should have been check, such as compression, correct carburetor setting, good sparkplugs, timing, etc.
    My outboard used on this video is Mercury Force 120 hp 2-stroke engine.

    Great video I have dual 1990 Force and I started them yestwrday onewas running ok at idle. The second was at 2500 RPM. Wgen I tried to adjust it from thebidle screw it didn't make a difference. What would you check at this point? Thanks in advance for your help.

      Thank you. Usually that means your main is too rich. You can check that and also make sure your throttle close on idle. Compare between those two. Good luck.

    Do you know what cranking speed degree should be on a 75 force

    • @NorCalOutdoor
      @NorCalOutdoor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think for cranking (not running) is 27 degree and speed is 300 and higher to have it enough power for ignition

    Does your book show the specs for a 45hp?

      Unfortunately no, Sir. Only for Force 120

    Is it okay to run your engine without water? Everyone seems to say it isn't.

    • @NorCalOutdoor
      @NorCalOutdoor  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Big NO,. You need water to cool the engine.

      @@NorCalOutdoor I'm confused. You seem to be running the engine in this video without water.

    • @NorCalOutdoor
      @NorCalOutdoor  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @pbase36 ah, sorry for the confusion. When my son cranked it. I didn't turn the water on, and no fuel connected to it. No water. I just wanted to check the timing.
      But, when I started the engine, I turned the water on and was using earmuffs. Water was always running when the engine ran. I didn't show it on the video.

      @@NorCalOutdoor Understood! So is it okay to crank the engine without water just when setting timing? I have to do this task soon, and I'm new to it.

    • @NorCalOutdoor
      @NorCalOutdoor  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @pbase36 yes, it should be fine. Make sure you disconnect the fuel line.

      I did heard that last week when idle. I think it was from one of dirty carburetors. Was thinking to rebuild it in few months. What do you think? I rebuilt the carburetors about 5 yrs ago.

    i know this is 11 months old...but ur starter gear is staying up. it should be down and then pop up

    • @NorCalOutdoor
      @NorCalOutdoor  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct. It is down when running or off. Only pops up when I crank it up.

      The spline is not going down because the engine isn't starting to cause the flywheel to speed faster than the starter
