Yeah ik Japan has a great history in this sport, but their current team is the greatest they have in its entire history, capable of achieving great victories and competing with the "giants" that, until then, they were unable to keep up with.

@@blueiron_yt just luck and weak competition at Asia, even in VNL they played against the weakest team in the Quarter Finals and semifinals however the other side was France, Brazil 🇧🇷, Poland 🇵🇱 and Italy 🇮🇹, they crushed each other, and as you can see the final against France was one side game, France 🇫🇷 did not even played that hard to crush them!

I admire the level of competition of both teams, but it is so amazing how France manages to stop the speed and pace of the Japanese team. In addition, the crowd is against them, but they have shown how truly good it is to have the spirit of an Olympic champion. That is the balance of the players that made them champions this year. Though Japan got the Silver medal but we can’t deny the fact that the mens VNL was worth watching especially when Japan is playing. They made us feel excited and they even made a lot of surprises during their game. Rooting for them this coming Paris Olympics❤

I don't think Japan is at the level of France and Poland yet. They have a long way to get there.
@@Hour882Dieits hard when you are competing against physically superior players. But to say that japan is far away from france's or Poland's level is a bit condescending. They reached the finals this year. They cannot be that far off from these teams in terms of capability to win. In any case i am here to celebrate japan's achievements despite the odds stacked against them. They made me love the sport of volleyball all over again.

Japan's mentality and fighting spirit are beyond what I imagine. Though physically the look smaller than French players, they showed France that they are a tough opponent.

It's not easy for Asian Team to make this far duo to physical disadvantage (Hight, Weight, Strength). Thank to Japan. You guys are the pride of Asia.
I don't think it is a physical issue after all. Couple of players are over 200cm tall, Yuki and Nishida are the prime example of strength. It is about experience and this is an area Asian use to absorb very quickly and one day become champions. Next year gold medals contestant surely. Every team have its physical disadvantage attributes, most importantly confidence level play a huge role

It was a close match. Just a 2-point deficit, but 2nd set showed Japan prowess in volleyball (25-18). Also, imagine Ran playing there.

2点差でフランスに勝たせるには、短い時間だけでも控えメンバーを出せばいいと考えたのでしょう。オリンピックに行けない選手も試合に出してましたから。ワザとフランスに負けにいった監督にレギュラーメンバーは次の日に怒ってる感じでしたよ。
