    Probably the most informative, useful video on these engines I've seen. Very clear, very straightforward, concise. No getting seasick with swishing camera movements. Well done.

      It honestly couldn’t be more relevant. The best one out there in my opinion.
      I’m back to square 1 with my boat so I’m using it as we speak 😂

    well done video. you clearly know what your doing, and i appreciate you not wasting time covering basic mechanical skill stuff and safety items. So many videos are so frustrating with all the BS they feel they need to cover. Thanks

    Great info. The 'toon I just picked up has a '98 Force on it. I hadn't even heard of Force outboards prior to looking at the pontoon. While I realize a '98 Force is a Merc, any information on these older motors is good information. Thanks for putting this out.

    Man! Had I seen this video about 6 months ago it would have saved my a trip to the boat mechanic! My 1995 Force 120 is basically the same design and has the same style throttle set up, minus it’s a twin carb and not a triple threat.

    Most people dislike these motors, but I never had any major issues with the many that I have owned. The big ones like to shear the key for the flywheel, when they back fire.

    Great video, I have same motor on a 16ft and this was a huge help. I recently removed carbs to clean because they were running extremely bad. Sure enough all three carbs were disgusting on inside. I was wondering if you could possibly answer something. ..After removing the float and bowl, I noticed all three carbs have black gunk under middle main jet screw, was this an old gasket or just trash?

    Do you have a air/fuel adjustment video for the Chrysler? I can’t seem to get mine right. 1-1/4 turn out from seated , do I adjust all 3 at same time? Only one at a time? In neutral? Neutral high idle? In gear?
    Seems to run best 3/4 turns from seated, but I’m worried it’s lean?
    Any info would be great.

    Oh and I used a timing light, i just turned key on and pointed light and rocked engine back and forth to see where it sparked at. Also everywhere I have read says to set these Chryslers at 28-30 degrees because they were originally set up for leaded fuel.

    i got my engine running nice but after 15 min it started knocking and the engine turned white to brown. there is a somewhat clear hose its dark brown and what i see is the water spitting up basically there is no solid water going up and not sure if it makes up 2nd water tube as they used a rubber hose. is that the water pump cooked? and if so how bad is it to take it out i don't wanna take engine apart

    Hello
    I got a 105 Chrysler with a msd cd box and it doesn't runs with a surface gap plugs but it does with J plugs, also is hard to adjust the mixture screws if i adjust it where it idles good is hard to cold start please help

    also you didn't explain how to adjust if the butter flies what to adjust when they are not fully open, mine weren't, I pushed extended the bar, twisted the end a few turns till when I pushed it back on ball, that it fully was open when I put it back to center (idle) the mark is below so I guessing that's wrong?

    Hi,
    I have a 1989 Evinrude 28 SPL E28ESLCEA. At low speed i'm getting a skip, but it runs ok on the top end. I wanted to get your professional advice on the problem. How can I tell if the time is set correctly. I think the timing is off also. I need your help.

    I thot it started at the bottom. 1,2,3 going up for firing order, Can you confirm this please? Thanks. (1978 Chrysler 75hp)

    Excellent. Only prob is last year when I tried to time my 85hp force 1989 I couldn't see timing marks with the timing light. Went so far as to cover with a blanket and mark the lines with white out so it stood out more but still was hard to see when it's spinning fast from starter. Any suggestions on how to see it better?

    Hey Frank, Bryan here. I was having trouble with one of my 125's again and my question is, how would leaving the plugs in while static timing would affect accurately the 28 degree mark? My engine idles, but as soon as I increase the throttle it backfires and stops.

      @@kylewilcox8571 honestly I repowered in 2015 with a single 300 hp G2 etec. Never regretted it of course I did have to sell my house to get the equity and buy the motor. $24k Installed. Have had many good memories since then .

  • @airsoftgodfather
    @airsoftgodfather 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    This would mean any idle timing adjustment you make would affect the full throttle timing wouldn't it?

    • @nathanbuck929
      @nathanbuck929 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe the Rod adjuster screw, referred to here for setting idle is how the idle timing is set. Because the rod is limited by a non-adjustable stop at WOT, changing the screw, only affects idle timing, not total timing. That is why we set total timing first. The turnbuckle on the linkage from the rod to the throttle cam is how to set idle speed, not the rod adjuster screw.

    To anyone who can help me , my 125 force 1986 1258f6b has 2 carbs , On both carbs there are brass plugs that cap the passageways to the main jet , is it normal for them to have a hole in the caps ? 1/32 in size puncture . I bought this motor used and don't know if someone punctured or it comes that way. My email is Superjoe104 at Yahoo dot com

    The FARCE 5 cylinder is an abomination - the crankshaft isn't strong enough for that power output and they frequently turned the flywheels into deadly weapons.
