The dash is looking good 👍, had the same problem with my door panels when i painted them. Just going to end up changing them... eventually lol

For the door panels. Scuff them with 500 grit. Adhesion promotor. used Bed liner spray with 2 coats. Then use VHT black hight temp black paint. Your worries will go away about fading and scratches
If you want it even more peace of mind. Sand the black you have currently, completely away with 100 grit. Then jump up to 300 then the 500 process.

Im planning on getting new door panels, will definitely be trying that. Bed liner seems like it would leave me with a rough rugged surface though. Don’t want that. 🤔

I painted the panels inside of my 93 Bronco. Took as much as I could of off and tapped the rest. No where near as much as you did. Nice work.

Thanks man. I was afraid I was going to get a lot of overspray so I took off as much as I could. I almost took off the whole dash.

TBH I didn’t even tape off my windshield, what ever OS I got on the windshields I scraped off with a window flat razor. Cleaned the windshield at the same time!!!

Wow exactly what I wanted to do on almost the same truck I have a 93 F-150 and I wanted a black interior

jose gonzales Do it! Looks so good, especially on mine, since it’s white it goes well. Overall the seats were the most expensive to get reupholstered.

White seat belts or black? The truck is coming along real well!! Keep it up!

I've gotta 96 ext cab and I'm glad I found what I was looking for. I wonder if there is something you can use on the plastic that better adheres (if that's the problem) and still matches the other paint. I'm very ocd about my colors matching even if it is just black lol
Also clean truck mines white too

I tried the Krylon fusion paint which is suppose to be great with plastics. So far so good.

You should have used the adhesive promoter before painting I did my truck 2-3 years ago and it’s still holding up great

    • @icsivan
      @icsivan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Well Now I know, I did use it for my whole dash and so far great. 👍🏻

First thanks so much for watching if not please subscribe. The panel feels exactly the same. I’m glad I painted it, but I highly recommend the adhesion promoter primer.

Do you think maybe that you could have put a top coat to prevent it from rubbing??

I did this in my old mustang a few year’s ago and it ended up terrible. I did the entire interior, it scratched off all the vinyl and rubbed off the cloth seats 😔 I basically ruined my interior. I had to touch it up constantly or else it looked horrible.

DColon614 Luckily I only did my trim and there’s not much In my single cab truck.
