I like how Translucent’s tone is different when he’s in public and private. When in public, he sounds so formal and his accent is clean. But during private moments, he sounds very evil and his accent is less formal.

The more you pay attention to writing in not just The Boys, but most superhero shows too, the more it falls apart on you. That's why in The Boys they try to distract you regularly with graphic shock factor moments throughout each episode. They'd rather you dwell on that instead of their sloppy writing.
