There are several articles out there on Henry Cavil wearing "normal" clothes (jacket, glasses, baseball cap) in public and no one recognizes him. The Clark Kent trick definitely works irl
Clark kent also changes his voice and his posture in some versions he wears baggy clothes to hid his physique he does not just put on some glasses and calls it a day.
It somehow feels weird even though we see Antony Starr in interviews, or even Superman being just Clark Kent. But there's something different about Homelander, you wouldn't think that someone as narcissistic as him would disguise himself to not attract attention.
@axlrosest He's not a Narcissist. He's a victim of Emotional and Physical trauma. He's a broken person, who hungers for love and acceptance like many such abuse victims. Unlike them, however, he possesses Supermanlike powers, and was further emotionally damaged/manipulated by Vought throughout his adult life as well. Here's what Butcher and the rest don't get through their thick skulls, Homelander isn't the villain to destroy/defeat, it's Vought itself that Nazi derived company. He, Soldier Boy, are as much victims as Hughie, or Butcher himself.
I just realized that Homelander said "like Caeser," and Sage didn't correct him. Caeser famously was stabbed in the back before he could completely take over. Augustus was the emperor who swooped in, declared himself emperor after defeating Cleopatra and subsuming Egypt into the Roman Empire. This may be a reference to that. Baring the comics, this line suggests Sage is probably going to act like Cleopatra in this narrative: smarter than every man in the room and able to win over the masses, but may eventually fall. Homelander will likely be Caeser, the man who tries to make himself into an emperor but dies before that can happen.
Augustus had tact. A beautiful trait which enabled the senate to do what it would never have done: made him emperor. Rome for a long while was a republic because in the past they endured bad kings. Hence why Julius Caesar was killed. Caesar wanted to be king. Consuls were elected to rule for 1 year.
Homelander also talks about leaving a legacy to his son. Augustus (Or Octavian at the time) was the legal son and heir of Caesar. Caesar set the foundation for Augustus' Principate. And in light of the finale and Ryan being more like Homelander, this makes more sense that Ryan would be Augustus and Homelander be like Caesar.
Pretty sure he's the only character in the show who's never taken off the outfit until now (aside from Noir, unless you count taking off his mask in Payback).
And thats what you took away from this huh? "Yeah he crazy but I love hygiene." I'd face-palm again my my hand is bruised from doing it too much. Why are so many people like you? And how I can force you all to change? I'm willing to go pretty far.

But why isn't she already at this position, why she needs Vought for that? The smartest person on the world would also be the richest and the one with the most power.
@@tiefensucht my idea is that Vought has so much power that they can avoid any supe from getting any kind of success outside of their company, that's why there aren't any other Hero Agencies outside of Vought and Godolkin is the only school for supes, they can just do everything in their power to manipulate the market and keep a supe in the shadow of anonimity if they want to and that's a kind of power that not even the smartest person in the world can fight with. Yeah she could create a tower bigger than Vought's, but it's a bit difficult when Vought just keeps stomping it every time she makes floor one.
The fact Sage is living as middle class not as Tony Stark is the greatest bid of commentary I’ve ever seen. Which is that having knowledge and applying knowledge are two very different things. Sage is intelligent but has no marketable skills. She has intelligence but is unable to apply it to anything. Science, technology, chemistry, mechanics, physics, all things that she could have been famous for, but she isn’t even able to apply her brain to it. So she has nothing. No job because she can’t get one, no house because she can’t afford one, no friends because nobody likes a know it all, all she has is her mouth and mind. But if either were lost, she’ll be nothing. And she knows it. Also I love how Homelander shows that he is smart by getting her to join him with just a few sentences. Homelander may see humans as lesser but he understands their nature and how to use it to his advantage.
It was revealed in a recent episode that Sage was able to create a cancer cure for her grandmother when she was a child but couldn't get it synthesized because she didn't have the lab equipment. Also, she probably joined Homelander because she knew that if she said no to him he'd probably kill her.
@@bobertbobthethirdshe took the cure and showed it to the doctor and they laughed and ignored her. Obviously there’s no point to show a new treatment method to a doctor. After that she need bunch of test subjects, heavy expensive equipments and minimum 10-15 years of clinical trial data to actually turn it into a full working treatment for a disease. She may be fully intelligent but she lacks wisdom and social skills.

Not even in my wildest dreams I ever thought that I would see HOMELANDER in disguise 😂
It somehow feels weird even though we see Antony Starr in interviews, or even Superman being just Clark Kent. But there's something different about Homelander, you wouldn't think that someone as narcissistic as him would disguise himself to not attract attention.
E
Knowing that she definitely knows all of this, and in light of the finale, I think it's clear she'll be more like Augustus here lol
This comment deserves more likes.

@@Ghost-ql3hl nah its literally her being factually correct and honest which is why homelander is there to being with
@@Ghost-ql3hl something tells me if it was a guy and he corrected people saying “smartest man” with “smartest person” you wouldn’t have an issue with it
@@TheeKittyPie no I would
That would sound annoying
And I can’t imagine someone correcting another for calling them “the smartest man in the world”.
I’m not trying to start anything
I think her character has been great so far
It’s just one thing I find slightly annoying
Hardly impacts my enjoyment
"Like Ceasar" Foreshadowing!
1:38 bro doesn't know whether to be angry or impressed 💀
Id honestly have a similar reaction if someone just started calling me out like that 😂
I'd be asking for another appointment that's a lot of free medical/psychological advice 😂
World's smartest person has her tp facing forwards 🙏
As you can see from her room, she's very lazy
What's a tp?
@@kayyy8607 toilet paper
Is it wrong?
I mean that position is most comfortable for tearing a sheat of toilet paper, isn't it?
What kind of a psychopath has it facing backwards?
"Never seen you without the suit." It is disconcerting that neither did we.
Anyone notice how he asked could he come in but proceeded to walk in without hearing an answer first? 😂
2:24 homelander does not save people 💀
In the very first episode we see him saving teenagers
@@jalengholson8595 so that discounts him killing thousands
Ironically homelander probably has the most real saves. He's so strong that he doesn't need a situation to be staged. He can just walk right in and stop any threat
He’s competent enough to execute Complex Saves. Like the Bank Heist and the first half of the Plane ‘Save’ was going pretty good. Diabolicals Factory ‘Save’ was going pretty well and still could’ve being salvaged if those Idiots kept the f quiet. He did get a Great Quick Job in Syria and has shown Extraordinary skill with his Lasers. He can also Box and keep up with Seasoned Veterans when they were close to his Level. Even the failed saves showed him being quite Competent. It’s mostly other people’s fuckups that ruin everything.
I think Sometimes people just forget that Vought, A Multi-Billion Dollar Conglomerate, Raised Homelander to be a Very Efficient Machine. A manchild sure, but skilled nonetheless. He’s smart too.
Sister Sage deduces like Sherlock Holmes and bosses around Homelander like Stan Edgar. A fantastic character and a great addition to the series. 🙌
My favorite
He’s manipulating her
Don't compare Sage to Sherlock 💀. That's the same as comparing a kindergartener to Jon Jones in an MMA fight.
I loved this scene. Homelander is humble for the first time, recognizing that there is actually someone who is superior to him in a certain aspect and seeking not to dominate or eliminate - but cooperate. And Sage not only was surprised that day, she was excited - probably two firsts.
Bro thinks he could disguise himself even tho i can see him wrap his arms in his back 💀💀
Yea, funny fact
there are a few things in the boys universe that are more terrifying than home lender he just met one of them
2:17 The price of getting what you want, is getting what you once wanted.
That homelander character is so well done, his hands behind his back means he has confidence and no fear.
“I’m smart enough to know when to listen” that’s terrifying because inspire of his massive ego he can learn.
And proceeds to do whatever the hell he desires anyway and things only worked out because she held info from him so he doesn't ruin it XD
Lol his reaction to her saying he has an enlarged prostate 😅🤣
Bro, looks like a FNaF security guard 💀
Anyone else hear Sister Sage heart at 1:08 ? It’s very cool to know that Homelander was hearing if she was honest
"...From someone on my level..."😂Homelander can't stop even if he tried.
0:19 "have you heard the good word"
I havent watched the new season just yet (waiting to watch with friends), but i already absolutely love the dynamic between these two characters. Something about the writing just feels so real
