The only thing i don't like about this scene is that it makes us believe they are going to deal with every hero in a similar manner. Find out their weakness and then find out ways to use them for the kill
That's basically how the comics go, and likely what they had planned, to follow the source material closer. Then for some reason they go completely off the rails, not sure why, but the show is better for it imo. The comics are fun, but good storytelling they ain't.
I feel you but Im not upset either. It'd be far more challenging to get good story if every episode you killed a new hero. I like the long, drawn out rivalries they got going at the moment. Granted, I don't want it to turn into the typical "Unkillable character" bullshit, I like my characters to be at risk of death, but I don't want them dying out so quickly so that it becomes predictable.
I'm surprised Translucent didn't start screaming so maybe Homelander could hear him, I know The Boys could rush in and stun him but at least he should try

Because then they would just kill him. Homelander would kill them either way, so might as well take translucent with them. His best bet to survive was to actually hope homelander *wouldn’t* find him and then convince The Boys he was he was more useful alive
It's been a while since I've seen it but would he need to yell? Pretty sure they mentioned at one point he can hear people's heart beat and knows when they're lying or scared. He probably knows if he's not looking for him yelling wouldn't help, and if he was homelander would be able to hear him talking normally just as well as him yelling. Plus homelander is crazy. Maybe he thought if he yelled for help homelander would think he's useless and either just leave him to die, save him then kill him himself, or kick him off the team. So he probably thought not calling for help was his best chance.
He doesn't exist in the comics so no deeper explanation but I think that the way he becomes invisible is why his skin is impermeable, some carbon molecule structure that bends light. I think they mention it in a line somewhere.
It could be that his diamond skin composition is what allows him to go invisible. For all we know, his invisibility is just a side-benefit of his hard skin lol.
He has been inspired from Emma Frost from X men . Skin is as hard as diamond , invincibility and mind reading ( I think she was in The Days of the Future past or something ) .
