    Hi Lee. I'm very new to all this. I've seen from one of your other videos that the numbers being entered represent micro seconds. I know this must be the pulse width on the servo input. How is the info transmitted by the radio? Presumably it's part of a packet addressed to a particular servo. A bit like the ethernet protocol? I guess the 'bits' in the packet are sent as carrier on/off. I appreciate detail about radio comms would be highly technical but if you find yourself short of things to do (!) then perhaps a video with your wonderful graphics would be helpful, particularly to students doing this sort of thing as part of a project. Cheers. Bob UK. (Edit for my bad typing).

    Great video. At last I'm starting to understand everything thanks to all your open TX videos. One thing I didn't quite see was how the servo checker connected. All in series I see but the only BEC I have is within the Esc that I use for the motor. Did you have a different type of bec connected to the servo checker? That servo checker is a great gadget to have, where did you get that one? Cheers again, mick. New Forest.

    Your stuff is top notch. Lost my job so can't do patreon right now, but hope you might be interested in doing more complex real world example? Have HK Walrus. 2xAil (ch 1/6), 2xFlp (ch 7/8), Thr (ch 3), Elv (ch 2), and Rud (ch 4). Have set up to do 3 posit Flaps (Sw A), and 3 posit Crow (Sw B) per your vids. Struggling to figure out how to do elev mix based on flap actual position regardless of whether from SwA or Crow Flap override?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can do this simply by adding the FLAP channel to the elevator in the mix. Just ass another line under the output for the elevator in the mixer and assign it as CHx where 'x' is the output in the mixer you're using for flaps.. i.e. www.dropbox.com/s/e4pwpj9go1swkn9/adding%20one%20extra%20mix.png?dl=0 Hope that makes sense..

      @@Painless360 Just tried it, and it works perfectly for the flaps. But the crow doesn't engage the mix. For crow, I'm driving the flaps using SF1 mid and low positions to over-ride channel 7 (and 8) with parameters set to -20 and -40 depending on switch postion. This seems to work outside the other logic?

      I don't have a DX6 so unfortunately this wouldn't be possible. Some of the older radios that don't show the pwm values will not support this method. I'll probably do a video that might be helpful with the new orange radio, the set-up would be very similar a Spektrum radio..

    why do you need to re-bind it after setting up the failsafe??

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The fail-safe is stored in the receiver when you bind so if you change any of the channel positions you need in the final setup steps then you need to 'teach' the receiver these new positions.. No need for the double questions marks ;).

    • @Advection357

      It's not complex... get the range values of each servo with the tester, write them down & put them in the controller... done. And unless you have the same exact airplane he has with the same servos... I don't see how that would work..

    Question. I am programming a wing. I want to set up switch controlled expo (0, 20, 35). Is it better to set values on INPUT or MIXER pages or is it just personal preference. I've seen it done both places. The wizard provides 50% D/R on the INPUT page, which I want to use.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do it in either, both work fine. It's personal preference. Doing it on the Inputs means that it's done once so you get that effect on all the mixes you use with that control.. Can make it easier.. Happy flying!
