    In this quick tip I explain why we may need Differential setup in a Mixer/output mix and how we would use it to setup the Ailerons on a plane/wing so they move with identical throws.
    Be careful to always setup the controls, servos and linkages mechanically before turning to the radio. If you don’t the model will not fly as well as it could.

    Happy flying!

    the control must move more into the low pressure area to get the same amount of control.
    That statement right there cleared it all up for me.
    excellent....thank you.

    Thanks Painless360, very nice demonstration. I always get confused by what diff means, and now I know the theory and how to apply it. well done mate!

    Excellent. Thanks. The Taranis is a damn good radio. It can just do anything.

    I like to temporarily reverse one of the channels to better judge whether the travel is equal when setting up not only differential but ailerons in general.

    I'm guessing you cannot set differential for two aileron servos Y connected to a single channel. I want to set each up travel higher then their down travel. Probably have to do it mechanically, right?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are sending the servos the identical signal through that y-cable. Then you only have mechanical adjustment to play with. Best of luck

      @@Painless360 Thanks. The model I have, Top Flite P51D 1/7 scale has pushrods for each aileron going to one servo. This kit is old but for whatever reason uses a single servo with pushrods and a couple 90s to control the ailerons. In the very least I was going to see if I could get separate servos to fit that control each independently. Setting the throw for smaller downward angles vs bigger upward angles isn't a big deal (hopefully)

    Hi, how do you set the aileron in different channel? I m new in the new generation radio, I used the V connection for ailerons

    I’m new in the hobbie
    And I’m having problems with my mini quad rates
    I think they are not as strong as they were on the original controller can you help me in how to increase my rates on my new taranis for a tiny whoop

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you sure you mean rates? Are you saying that the controls are not as sensitive on the Taranis?

    hi dose a flying wing need defferential too help with yaw

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The vertical stabilisers are the main points of yaw confrol/stability. I don't use differential on any wing here..

    How can you have differential as well as expo and dual/Triple rates? I cannot, for the life of me, figure this out.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      So what exactly are you trying to do?

    • @JoshuaOrchard
      @JoshuaOrchard 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Painless360
      I think I figured it out. Trying to use differential with expo and rates. Used ch9 mix to setup main input with rates and expo. Then used output channels (2 and 5 for me) with ch9 as input with differential curve. Works perfect.

    • @RagTheNutsOff
      @RagTheNutsOff 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Painless360, Lee What Joshua is after is exactly the same as myself. To keep the expo, so that we have lea-way in the stick movement around the center of the stick, but... also have differential in the aileron movements. I'm not entirely sure how Joshua has done it, but there is enough of a clue for me to have a stab at it and see how it works out. Maybe worth a separate video? (if you haven't done one already?)

    • @Chris_Love
      @Chris_Love 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could specify the amount of EXPO on the "INPUTS" tab instead of under "MIXER" that way you could have both expo and diff on what ever you like. I have for instance under INPUT tab specify DUAL on each channel using a switch and on each of these different values I have specified EXPO value. No need for complicated mixers

    Could you do a similar video on Subtrim and the two modes.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Rav Gupta Modes? Do you mean mode 1 and mode 2 i.e. where the throttle is?

    • @rguptaca
      @rguptaca 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Painless360 Trim in flight, move trims to sub trims (off set). On the output screen last column there are two subtrim modes. Up arrow and equal. Useful for us to know the benefit of subtrim. I just learnt. Also important to understand the difference in modes. In one the slope of stick to output changes at the offset mark and travel limits remain the same. The other the slope remains the same but there is clipping on one side and less travel on the other. Modified limits should not be a big deal for general flying but may be good for 3D pilots to know. Your videos are awesome. I tried to make one and it was a mess:) besides your playlist is the best one. So Many more details to cover that are not explained.
