  • We made it to Spain from England in 3 days and our first stop on the south coast of Spain is Camping Bellsol in Pineda de Mar just an hour from Barcelona by train. We meet up with Trev's friend Paul and after putting Smirf into storage for 24 hours, we set off for the day in Barcelona and a sleepover at Paul's flat. A great start to our Spanish adventure.

      Yes there is and we only had a few hours. Most of our time was spent with our friend as we hadn’t seen him for a long time 😃 Trev

    To toll or not to toll always a question and something to think about😂 no right or wrongs just what suits you at the time I think (H). How lovely you could meet up with Paul and have your own personal tour guide, it’s a great city to explore. Looking forward to the next instalment. Best wishes H&M. 😊

      With the time we had available, the only way was to go Toll. It would be much better to make our way down in a more sedate way though and will do that in future. We didn’t film very much whilst with Paul as we wanted to use our time with him to the full. It was great catching up with news 😃🚐👍🏻 Trev

    Hello Trevor - Sue 🙋‍♂️.
    Hope you are both enjoying
    your trip to Spain 🇪🇸.
    Have you gave much thought
    to the “street sculpture” that
    you are passing and filming there ?
    The sheer physical dimensions,
    of the visual art 🎭 is
    amazing !!
    The indigenous population
    seem to be streets ahead
    of the UK 🇬🇧 with regard their
    cultural side - and, the “Artistic
    thoughts” within their design - in
    terms of the unique culture and
    ways they relate this to their own
    people and within their own
    environment !!
    You would think the UK 🇬🇧
    would invite some of these
    talented people over to the UK 🇬🇧
    and let them into our towns and
    City’s to give us some pointers
    with regard what “physical
    structure” can do - and, achieve
    in order to get more footfall into
    our dying towns and Cities
    infrastructure !!
    All we have is: Statues of
    Slave traders, past royalty,
    and people on horses with
    swords that nobody really
    knows !!
    We seem to want
    to retain the old social,
    cultural, economic
    and - political characteristics
    that are distinct from those of other
    dominant societies in which
    our European neighbours
    live !!
    Take care and stay safe ✌️

      @PoshcatsCamping  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s very different in Spain. Much like other European countries they are proud of their culture and traditions. Unfortunately if we fly the flag of Saint George we are racist. There is much wrong with the UK and nobody wants to tackle the problems 🤨 Trev

    Hi Trev and Sue sorry just commenting on this been a busy few days! Hope you are both well and been enjoying following your progress on FB
    I found the French tolls to be reasonable when we went to Paris and I was as pleased to get a tag instead of keeping lots of change on me like I have in the past it’s good and the monthly statements work well
    Have always wanted to go to Barcelona as I have always admired the work of Gaudi and especially the sagrada familia hopefully one day I will make it. It looks a fantastic city so vibrant and full of life! Hope you enjoyed catching up with your friend too looking forward to the next video all the best to you all Daniel

      Thank you Daniel. We enjoyed the visit and seeing Paul too. Having the dogs restricted where we could go, but we were happy with that. It was a brief taste of what Barcelona has to offer 😃🚐👍🏻 Trev

    When we drive down to Roses by car, we go via Rouen, Chartres, Orleans & Millau, and it costs around £75. You could save €10 if you come off the motorway & go through Millau itself. This will be approx 50% more if you tow a caravan. Motorhomes & campers are class 2 & are also approx 50% more.
    It will be interesting to know how much your tolls were going the other way

    • @PoshcatsCamping
      @PoshcatsCamping  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That sounds a lot less than we paid. I don’t have the exact figures but I will get them very soon and share them. Thanks for your comparison, I will definitely use it for our vlog and encourage others to share their experiences 👍🏻😃🚐 Trev

    The tolls last year with car and caravan by tolls all the way but a little further out than you travelled( Dole and round bt Lyon Airport) was €190

      @PoshcatsCamping  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Our total tolls this year from Calais to Barcelona (return) for just the van was €370 but we did most of the two journeys on the motorways. Thanks for the info, our costs look pretty similar 👍🏻😃 Trev

    Do you need a crate or anything for dogs on the train...also buses advice..
    Thanks

    • @PoshcatsCamping
      @PoshcatsCamping  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There was no requirement for a crate or muzzle for taking dogs on the train but we noticed some owners had muzzles tied to their leads but dogs not wearying them. We didn’t use busses so not sure of the situation sorry 🙂 Trev

      Ah so it’s raining in Wales, there’s a surprise 😂😂 Oh I am jealous, 7 weeks is a dream for us. We are home on Monday after just 3 weeks. Whistle stop tour this time but will have a longer trip next time. Thanks for the tip about the camp site 👍🏻🚐 Trev

    Nice drive. Love that scene behind you. Water splashing up on the shore. So pretty! I wanna go stay down there. Nice shot by the sign. Always gotta get a pic by big cool signs. Wow. You're close to that train. Sure is a nice pool area. Probably a little cold for that, though, right? OH fancy. Staying in a flat. That's cool! It's like doing an airbnb. That's a lot of birds in the square. Watch out for dive bombs 😆I'd like to shop around at the booths. Quite a bit of peeps out there. Popular area, I guess. Do love the architecture. Such a great trip. Look forward to the next video! I mean drinks by the beach? How could I not want to see that? LOL

    Hope you have a great trip. For us newbies could you advise the route you decided was best to take from Calais down to Spain at this time of the year. Thank you.

    • @PoshcatsCamping
      @PoshcatsCamping  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We travelled very quickly to Spain from Calais to Reims to Troyes to Avignon to Perpignan to Barcelona. This is one of many ways to get there but it was the quickest in our opinion although it will be painful in tolls. We haven’t totted up the final cost yet but will let you know in a future video. Hope that helps 😃👍🏻🚐

    Hi Trev, do you use a route planner as I have heard the Michelin Route Planner gives you an estimated cost of your journey including fuel and tolls, was wondering how accurate it was. Enjoy your trip. Mark & Coral

    • @PoshcatsCamping
      @PoshcatsCamping  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t use any kind of planner to cost my journey, I just estimate what I think and hope for the best. Otherwise I may change my mind and not go 🤣🚐 Trev

    hi, do you know of a caravan site near the ferry in Barcelona ?

    • @PoshcatsCamping
      @PoshcatsCamping  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We travelled in January which is closed season with very few campsites open. So we just went to the Bellsol. We have been advised that the aire in Barcelona has reopened. I cannot recommend it as I heard numerous stories of crime in the area. There are very few campsites within an hour of the city but they are listed on the ACSI site or Search For Sites www.searchforsites.co.uk/markerMobile.php?id=25652
