VanLife Spain - Woken up by the Police!

This week we travel from Valencia in Spain up to Barcelona then onto ITALY with a pit stop at some stunning hot springs on the way! We encounter the police at our van not once but TWICE, but all in all an amazing week travelling in Spain. This brings our time in Spain to an end for this year, as we embark on the ferry crossing over to Italy.

We are Kieran & Beckie from the North west of the UK. In 2023 we packed up our lives in the UK to travel full time in our self-converted Ford minibus with our 3 dogs - Ralph, Sonny & Ted.

Which bit of taking the dogs to Spain do you think is expensive? x

@@thetailsoftravel all the paperwork you need to take them , we have 3 doggos so it puts us off x

European pet passport £25, rabies vaccination £25. Paperwork completed and the passport lasts for the life of the dog and the vaccination lasts for a year the first one and second one lasts for 3 years, don’t over think it.

Hey guys, I'm doing a van trip in spain during June. I was wondering how easy is is to find place to park overnight, free or pay(whats average cost). I have read mixed reviews that the cops are quick to give fines. It that true? I'll going from Alhambra to Valencia, maybe some other spots but in the south and south east. Thanks

Most places in Europe it’s easy to find free park ups. I don’t know the cost of campsites as we never use them, the police never fined us in off season. But may be different once the season starts. If you are worried about being fined, I’d stay inland away from the coast personally
