Morning all! Wow, we really messed it up this morning 😂 At first I thought the video was released too late, as we're an hour ahead here...so I quickly pressed publish...only to realise of course, it was only just gone 8am UK time, and it had been scheduled correctly all along. Oh well, consider it an early Sunday present for you all 🤪 Anyway, hope you enjoy the video! Sun's out here and we're travelling to Germany's most easterly (more or less) point today...well, we will when Stephen wakes up 😂 Cup of (weak) tea first 😉 Happy Sunday all ❤
How interesting to see english people visiting my beautiful country Sweden. Though you need to go north as well, to see all the variation in nature. You are so welcome back! 🥰
@@margarethaberglin911 Scandinavia is Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The name comes from the mountain range straddling the border of Norway and Sweden. It actually continues down to Denmark, but is so beaten down that almost nothing remains of it there.
Thank you for the clarification! So, Nordic actually comprises all of Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland, but Scandinavia is just Sweden/Denmark/Norway. As Brits, that's really interesting to know, as I do think all those above countries tend to get called Scandinavia here in a sort of catch-all term, so it's nice to know the specific differences. Thank you 😊
@comealongdear a wee bit late but the Nordic countries; Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, Faroe Islands and the autonomous region of Åland. Scandinavia: Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Fennoscandia; Sweden, Norway and Finland.
Welcome back❤ You need to visit Sweden from south to the north, from Ystad to Haparanda. It’s so varied environment and nature. No need to go to Germany ☺️ Hugs from Stockholm
Thank you, if only we had chance but we were committed to Germany by then. As much as we're enjoying that, we might have enjoyed Sweden just as much if not more so. Hopefully one day! ❤️
I like how Stephen just goes about his business in the kitchen while you're filming, instead of sitting there looking pretty like most TH-cam couples. :) Sweden is beautiful. My daughter lives in Gothenburg. Happy trails. Jon in rural BC, Canada
Hi Jon, haha yep he certainly does 😂 Couldn't care less about the camera sometimes, quite a handy skill to have, although equally infuriating when you're trying to film as a couple 😂 How lovely to live in Sweden, has she been there long? We did look at Gothenburg but it was too far north given the time we have and wanting to explore Germany. Thanks for watching as always 👍 😊

Hi, a person from Sweden here, just found your channel and had to say. I'm so glad you liked your short visit here. You should really come back again and go a bit further north. Also, love your chemistry! =)
New sub here!😃 I live in MidSweden (Värmland/Wermland).🌞🌿 A tip to get the pronunciation of "Ystad" correctly (or as close one can get to it), is to use the Y-sound in "Cybil", in the beginning of "Y-stad"..☺️😃 Not "ee", but "ü"...kind of how germans say "hi/bye" (tschüß/tschüss)..😃😁😊 Love your channel and looking forward to browsing through the videos!🤗❤
Hello, thank you so much for the tip! The "y" in Cybil makes that seem so much easier to get right now! 🙏 And thank you for taking the time to subscribe that's really appreciated ❤️ We hope you enjoy the videos from elsewhere on our travels just as we (however briefly) enjoyed your beautiful country 🥰❤️
@@comealongdearYou're welcome! ❤🙏😊 Thank you! You seem to be such fun people, and I believe I have hours ahead of me, loaded with interesting and fun bingewatching your videos!😁👏🥰❤️ Have a really nice day!❤️🙏🌞🌿😊
The beach was absolutely everything! And so quiet as well 😍 The way the trees came onto the sand near the shore was just dreamy, and as you say, very tropical looking! Thank you 😊
The first part of the nationalpark you filmed looks identical to were i grow up and i must say its amazing portrait of the landscape, youre managed to capture the feel and soul of it. :)
I'm born in Holland but have lived 37 years just outside Simrishamn on the southeast coast of Sweden. 13.02 & 13.33 A very dear friend has a pottery there. Nowadays I live in Jokkmokk just above the Arctic Circle.
@@comealongdear The winter is long but not as bad as you would expect. Due to low humidity it doesn’t feel all that cold, I have been freezing more in the south than in the north. The dark winter is not so dark because the snow lits everything up and when there is full moon it’s like living in a Disney winter wonderland.
You're selling living in the Arctic circle pretty well there 😁😍 Neither of us mind winter and the dark nights. In a van, yes, but in a regular home it never bothered us, although of course south England winters are nothing really. Moonlit snow sounds just the ticket ❤️
Only people that live full-time in a home on wheels can appreciate exactly how much of a bonus it is to find you have access to a full size shower. It's a van lifers country club spa. Loved the walk to that special little beach, it's amazing when you find these hidden gems. We are very much looking forward to seeing you in Germany, take care and much love Darren and Alison 🤟💚
Ah thank you guys ❤ Christ, having a shower, any shower, is pure indulgence isn't it 😆 Always feels lovely (well, mostly, there have been some horrors) and makes you appreciate it in a way that you never truly did when living in a "normal" home! (It also makes us realise how we don't need to do it every day which we did before vanlife happened). The beach was glorious and you'd both love it there I think, Ystad too. Much love to you both ❤️ 🤟
I hope you can fulfill that dream one day! ❤️🤞 Have you visited Europe before? It's so varied a continent with so many beautiful places and cultures, I'm not sure how you'd even choose if the option was there!
@@comealongdear I’ve never been, I had too many kids!! The multicultural aspects, the languages, the architecture, the diversity, the universities- it’s all what I long for!! I’m reinventing myself at 60, after a lifetime of caring for first my sisters and then my offspring- I’m grateful for the internet world because I’m hoping that it will help me create the income streams and opportunities I need to get me to my dream life somewhere in Europe 😀💜🌻
Lovely video about my home area. I grew up in Simrishamn, south of stenshuvud national park and I cant even count how many times I have been there with family, school trips etc. I live in Ystad nowadays but always visit Stenshuvud during summer. Too bad the entire coastline was hit by a heavy storm in october last year, therefor the fallen trees on the beach. The authorites even tried to close off the beach for the public, but it has gotten back in desent shape so hopefully tourists return there this summer. Its really fun to see foreighners enjoying Sweden, especially my home area.
Hello, we absolutely loved visiting your homeland, what a glorious place to grow up and live now. We could easily live in Ystad if we had the chance 😍 A shame about the storms, it seems to happen everywhere you go, such is nature. Recently we visited Lake Constance on the German side and was shocked at how much tree debris there was after recent storms and floods. But they tend to recover (perhaps not always though, and they are not immune if storms increase of course). We're very glad we got to experience Stenshuvud at its best ❤️
I really enjoyed this. During the corona I was stationed and working in Ystad for 6 months. It was a wonderful time, since I had never been there before (born and bread in Stockholm). I LOOOVED Ystad, the cute city center (I lived in the center), the cathedral, the "caribbean" beaches, Ale Stenar, Sandskogen, Sandhammaren beach, the salt baths and the hospital (were I worked). I also ate at Per Helsas Gård several times. A blissfull time. Edit: Wallander is actually pronounced with a single v, like Vallander. And don´t pronounce the a as in wall, rather as in whack (short a).
Hello, so pleased you enjoyed the video 😍 What a fantastic place to be stationed, you've summed it up perfectly. We didn't show it in the video but yes, those beaches around Ystad were glorious - it was like pure white sand. Just perfect 😍 And thank you for the pronunciation tip, appreciate it 👍 😁
Thanks Donny, that's what we thought too, but you have to go so far north for that type of scenery, in the south it's very much like the UK, just with a lot more open space! The beach was unbelievable though, very tropical looking 😍
What a fantastic beach guys, that's definitely going on our must visit list. Another beautifully made video, as always. We flew to Denmark/Sweden a couple of years ago, but you've given us the motivation to drive there once Diones chemo is over. 👍✌️
Ah thank you both, so pleased you liked it. That beach and National Park was well worth the diversion, and it was right in the south of Sweden so very easy to access! (We had to look elsewhere to stay overnight hence moving to Ystad, but that worked out well!). Love to you both, we hope everything is going well and the chemo soon comes to a close for Dione and you can enjoy some time together travelling. Take care both ❤🤗
You guys deserve your bit of luxury on the ferry..ever so much! Thanks for the insight into Sweden which looked lovely. Look forward to your next videos from Germany. Best regards to you Dan and Stephen. G. xx
Cheers Gareth, well it was just weird how it cost about the same as driving over the expensive Denmark bridges, so we thought why not? No way would Steve have wanted to pay for that otherwise 😂
Welcome to our beautiful country!!🇸🇪 That national park is actually just a 45 minute drive from my home. I go there even now and then. I feel fortunate living so close to several beautiful places. Exploring the northern parts is still on my bucket list. I haven't been further north than Dalarna and Värmland. (Places I'd like to visit again though).
Thank you, and what lovely places to have on your doorstep. It's amazing what we don't get around to seeing in our own country. Plenty of people in the UK will have never seen Scotland or Wales for example. Life's demands make it very tricky for people to do that, but having the van has allowed us to take in more of our country than we ever would have before so we're so grateful for that. Hope you get to Northern Sweden one day 🙏 💙
Happy to see you liked Sweden guys and welcome back 🍻As some commented, it’s a bigger trip going from south to north, and west and east as well 😅👍 me and my family will take our camper to a short trip and can’t wait 😍
Hello, thank you 😃 yep we contemplated going further north before realising how huge the country actually was and we wouldn't ever get to see Germany (our plan) if we did that. One day maybe! Where are you taking your camper? Have a great time! 😍
@@comealongdear yea, it’s like that, time and all that you want to see doesn’t make up sometimes 😅 We just went for an short trip (1 your) to celebrate Midsommarafton 🥳🍻 will follow you (you’re doing a great way of showing van life ) and all the best❤️
Yeah Skåne is amazing, the light 😍 Living in Stockholm at the moment but lived in other places in Sweden too. It's a shame you won't have time to visit northern Sweden, and up into Norway and Nordkap to see the midnight sun 😍.
The next time you visit sweden you should experience the rest of it..... like going to Göteborg, then to Stockholm and even continuing going north. (maybe even as far north as Luleå or even Kiruna if you feel the itch to go further) Tho if you do, you might get "sick" from seeing all the trees (as most of the northern parts are uninhabited)....... but if done in the summer, you won't be lacking in daylight (some might find it hard to sleep tho, as depending on how far north you go, the sun will never set.)
You're selling that to us really well, we would adore that 😍 I don't think we'd get sick of trees, and the daylight would be amazing, we have blinds to block out the light to sleep too ❤️
Fun fact for beach-goers: As Stockholm resident I learn you had to check the wind-report on what beach to visit, because the winds decided what beach would be cold.. I mean COLD.. and what beach it was nice. As I do not live near the sea, this was fun to learn.
I could smell that beautiful sea I need them.pickles 😅 Thank you guys, as always I really enjoyed seeing life through your eyes Have a great week, you too Stay safe xx
So happy you enjoyed it, and thank you for joining us again 😊 ❤ That pickle thing was divine! Hoping we took a picture of it somewhere because neither of us can remember what it was now 😂 You have a great week too, take care ❤
Swede here, the pickles are called Bostongurka (Boston cucumber), made by a brand called Felix here in Sweden. Hope you can find it, if you liked it that much. 😊 We usually have it on hamburgers and hot dogs.
@@comealongdearWell of course not, it just looked so funny when he got tired of looking into the camera and found the bag and started eating instead...
Hahaha, Stenshuvud... I actually had to bring out a map to understand where you were. It is difficult to pronounce in Swedish as well. Stones Head I guess if you translate it. Love to see my country through other people's eyes!
Thank you, I think it must take a long time to master pronunciation in a new country, and from the way we're saying things, it's definitely obvious we didn't have enough of that to get it right 😳😂
Thanks Micke, yep it definitely felt like Springtime was ideal! Not sure how busy it gets but if it's like the UK certain seaside places get really crowded in the summer holidays (understandably)
Thanks, I think the part of the coast we were stood on faced directly east rather than south east, which (as the crow flies) looked far more like it landed on Lithuania to me, heading directly east from there, but my eyes might not be aligning with my map too well 🥴
You can buy the pickled relish "bostongurka" (boston gherkins) in the UK. Order it from Ocado, or from Scandikitchen (they've got a shop in Fitzrovia in London). Totally Swedish in Marylebone might also have it. I always bring a few jars from Sweden every now and then.
Ooh thanks for the tip! 👍 We did think ordering online would have to be the way to fill that Swedish pickle sized hole 😁 Looks like Scandikitchen deliver too from a quick glance 😍
Thanks ladies, well the hilarious thing is we never got to use it because after Stephen ran to get our stuff they'd already locked the decks, so we kind of didn't bother 😂 I was so busy putting a video together though (since there was a desk and I could plug in!) the time flew by. Hope you're both well, fully intend to catch up on your vids ASAP
Thanks for the video. Nothing like experiencing your country through foreign eyes, to appreciate it more. Also, you made me crave Bostongurka. Haven't eaten it for years. Time to pick up a jar. Though I prefer it on hot dogs, not for dipping crisps in. 😂
You're welcome and we're happy you enjoyed it ❤️ Haha I think your suggestion for the pickle makes more sense, but it was so good, and crisps were all we had to hand right then 😁
Hello you two 🙋♀️ what a nice trip you showed us! I think you were eating Boston cucumber. You said pickled radish. It's pickled cucumber with onion, and red pepper😅 Have a nice trip! Love from Sweden
Hello, thank you ❤️ Boston cucumber was an absolute revelation...we need to go back to Sweden just for that 😂 Thank you for telling us the ingredients, we might also try to make it by looking for a recipe 😀
I always thought Stenshuvud was to the south so i was confused when you talked about the Baltics, having looked it up i realize i'm confusing it with Ales stenar, which is to the south, close to Ystad, not nearly as nice as Stenshuvud but it has a norse megalithic monument of a stones arranged like a ship, not terribly exciting but worth a visit if you're in the area.
If we'd had more time we would have loved to explore more there. We found Sweden to be one of the most appealing and friendly countries we've ever been to 😍
The great Brit Kenneth Branagh made an English TV version of Wallander. A young Tom Hiddelstone played one of the detectives! Branagh was the lead detective, Wallander himself. I think it was a mini series of maybe three episodes.
The pronounciation of Ystad starts the same way as you pronounce the y in "your", kind of y and j mixed. Then just add "stad", a prononced as a in "star". 😊
I live in Sweden and it was my city who inspired Westeros in Game of Thrones name (its spelled Västerås but Westeros is how you say the name 🙂) I wonder how many who have travelled to my hometown and get dissapointed over that only the name is the similarity. 😁
Haha that's an interesting fact! You'd hope that a Game of Thrones fan might research that before travelling all the way there, but I'm sure it must have happened a few times 🤣 Hope it's still a nice place for you to live though?
That's all well and good but is Local Marple another name for a nosy Konst? 🤔😜 Although frankly who cares if it is, we all want to be a Marple. Better get investigating those 17 second homes and unused 3200 acres, I dread to think what's happening! (and I want footage of what is, if it is)
Beautiful country. I'd love to explore that part of the world sometime. I never knew that about Wallender, having never seen it. I was going to guess at IKEA naming a resealable food bag after the place. 😉
Had to google that one having never been to an IKEA in our lives 😂 Looks close enough minus one letter so maybe! Sweden is huge, we'd have loved to do more but it likely would have meant scrapping Germany. Thanks Ewan 👍❤️
Oh please, there's a lot of beaches in Sweden. The problem is that the weather doesn't really allow for beach life as it is cold af most of the time (from too cold to too bloody cold). My favorite beach near Stockholm, where I live, is a rather small little beach called Skarsand or Lilla sand on the island of Nåttarö. Most beaches are (of course) on the southern coasts of Sweden (including Gotland and Öland) but you can definitey find them further up north (although then they may not bee entirety natural. See Pite havsbad, for example.
Hello, thanks for commenting. Of course we didn't think that Sweden didn't have nice beaches, just that the type we visited is not the sort I think people from elsewhere would think of being there, a bit like if you've never been to Scotland, you don't really assume it has some of the bluest, most turquoise seas around. The one we saw had the look of the tropics, and as such a really nice surprise on our brief visit there. It was definitely the warm weather that made it stand out though, I agree that's probably not exactly a regular event in Sweden. Hopefully we can one day return and drive further north 😊
It"s of course cold or chilly during autumn, winter and early spring (some times even late spring), but we do usually have pretty great and often rather warm summers. This is true for the southern half of the country anyway. Around 20-30 degrees, quite ok for beach life, not as in the tropics of course. There are some long sandy beaches, Trouville at Sandhamn in the Stockholm archpelago for example. 😊
Love your video! The town is called “Ueésta” but drop the possible w-sound in the beginning. Drop the d also. Wallander is pronounced “Valánder” with a very soft r if any at all. You just got a new sub!
Hello, thank you for the pronunciation tips! It does help to hear the proper way to say these things. And thank you for subscribing, we hope you enjoy our videos 🤗❤️
For someone who is both Swedish & Scottish (living in Sweden), I found this highly entertaining 😂 - especially your attempts at pronouncing the various Swedish place names etc. Not easy for a non Swede, so good effort although a bit painful 😂😂😂
The nomenclature of the Nordics is pretty similar to the British isles. Scandinavia is Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. Finno-Scandia is Scandinavia and Finland. The Nordics is Finno-Scandia and the Faroe Islands, Icelands, and Greenland
No muscles to be found here Paul 🤣 But thank you, the exercising comes and goes, we have both slacked on it recently however! Oh well, we're in Germany, the beer is more appealing 😉🤣 Shorts have been the order of the day since arrival however, it's been very very humid here!
I think you’d get the pronounciation of Ystad pretty much right if you say e-stad (the stad bit is great the way you said it!). You say it more like we would say ustad (but to be fair both y and u are NOTORIOUSLY difficult to pronounce for non Swedish, thanks for having a go 😊). Swedes don’t differentiate between w and v, we say them all like you say v, so it’s be Vallander. And the a is more open, kind of like the a in “vast” but shorter. Thanks for a view of my homeland through your eyes (+ I’m basically never down south so it’s kind of exotic to me 😁).
Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated ❤️ It makes sense how if you haven't been brought up with it, that those sounds would be difficult to pronounce for a non-Swede. I'm sure English has its own versions. And very interesting that v and w are the same! Glad you enjoyed the video, thank you ❤️
If you come back to Sweden, I can probably arrange two places to stop by in Northern Sweden :) water + electricity available. Hope you have time to see northern Sweden some day!
Thank you Ilona, so happy you're enjoying our silly videos 🥰 You're right it was very clean in Ystad, and whatever we saw of Sweden was the same. The UK feels worse than many of its neighbours on that front sadly 😥 😬
Kind of sad you guys left Sweden.. For some reason I feel a little abandoned here that you went on to Germany. Lol... Even though we've never met or talked. I live slightly outside the Stockholm area.. The cultural heartland of Sweden.. "Mälardalen". The part of the country known as Svealand in local vernacular. Or Sweden proper in English, the area which gives its name to the rest of the country. About 7 - 8 hours drive from Skåne. But still the bottom third of the country. There are great camping sites everywhere in Sweden... But they can get cramped in July.
Well if it's any consolation, we felt a little sad too! But hey, if it means we can come back, all the better. The fact that your area even that far up is still the bottom 3rd of the country shows how massive it is 😯 Well, hopefully one day we can see some of it 🙏❤️
Come on Dan, we all like a bit of muscles, btw loving Steve T-shirt, really suits him. Really looking lovely the sea is so clear and inviting. Sweden 🇸🇪 looks a great country. So tranquil. You’re editing skills are brilliant in this video. Omg 😮 separate beds🛌 what have you done dan? 😆😆😆😆 Bring on Germany 🇩🇪
Hi Paul 😁 We all love muscles, but not convinced either of us has muscles as such to show off. A bit of sunburnt skin maybe 😂 The t-shirt definitely suited Stephen and thank you for saying so 😊 Sweden is gorgeous we would love to go back and see more and the people are so friendly (also really handy they speak English well and seem to enjoy doing so for us useless Brits!) Thank you for the comment on the editing, that's so encouraging to hear, as it does take some time to put these together so it's lovely to get positive feedback 🙏❤️ Separate beds, blame Stephen, he booked it 😂 They did fine though, it was just so nice to have a cabin to ourselves! Thank you and see you in Germany 🇩🇪 😍
Yeah Stens huvud and that region of Sweden is great! Anyone else interested goung there, I would recommend seeing Kivik, Brösarps backar, my favorite: Forsakar and Åhus (lovely long beach).
Hi Michael, thanks so much, it actually went by really quickly! A very smooth and calm crossing. I didn't initially like being in a cabin with no windows as, well, I was worried we'd be stuck if something went wrong 🙈 Thankfully the handy ship cam meant we could see what was going on, and told me we were still above water 😂
@@comealongdear that's wonderful to hear Dan, as I'd really find it very difficult to keep myself occupied for 7 hours in an inside cabin, I'd most likely go wandering around the ship and get lost lol, well done
Summer in Sweden can be absolutetly magnificent or a disaster. One year the weather be very windy and cold like early fall and the next year it will be mediteranian hot summer. And sometimes it's just super duper perfect. Different every year. The guys are in Sweden at the end of may or beginning of june. Then it's mostly beautiful weather and the naturen is fresh. Right now 7 june it's 20 C and very windy.
Hello, that sounds like our English summers, only with more chance of added rain with ours 😂 We were lucky to enjoy beautiful Swedish weather when we visited at the end of May
Stenshufvud is translated Stoneshead. Or Sten is a quite common name here. So Stens head. The ”head” is the small look out spot grazing over the Baltic Sea. Have a nice stay🇸🇪
@@comealongdear You can see the "head" looking like a big green bump in the background at 4:45. Also here: sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stenshuvud_(naturreservat)
Nice video and thanks for promoting Sweden. Stenshuvud is really beautiful. However, I think the Finnish would feel humiliated for not being included in "the Nordic region". And you could have asked a local to get the pronunciation of "Ystad" right...😂
Thank you! Apologies for excluding Finland - I was unsure what classified as what, but I think some of the replies here have clarified it nicely now ❤️
Another great video, you two are brilliant. I've seen your Insta and I'll be in Wernigerode myself in two weeks, hope you leave the place in one piece for me lol. Happy travels :)
Hi Thomas, thank you for watching and glad you enjoyed it ❤️ As far as we know we left Wernigerode quite tidy, it seems to look after itself pretty well though! Hope you enjoy it there, our filming of it was sketchy but we cannot recommend this place enough! We really enjoyed the castle (though you can't film inside it says 🙈) even though Stephen thought it wasn't worth 9 Euros each 😆 But in fairness that's much cheaper than the UK would charge for the same thing! Have a great time 😁
From what we saw (including a beach near Ystad) your beaches can be stunning. We have some like that here in the UK, but we also have the not so nice ones you described as well
The UK seawater is very variable - much of the south east and east England is very murky. However the South West (Cornwall, Devon and South West Wales) can be absolutely glorious and crystal clear, as can some beaches in Scotland. Unfortunately we are mostly familiar with the murky South East waters, so we always appreciate a reasonably clear sea when we find one 😂
@@comealongdear I see, in Sweden is the water mostly quite clear, We call the seas between Sweden and Finland and the Baltic countrys Eastern sea (Östersjön in Swedish) and that sea is a bit known of being bad sometimes but most of the time is it good at the coasts.
Something has definitely gone awry in the matrix with this one 😂 Since we can't afford to move to Sweden, I suspect the only solution to keep this up is to do a series of videos in Jaywick, Medway and Luton
The first thing I'd do, is ask locals how to pronounce the city name ;) Hearing you trying to say it the wrong "Swede way" so many times cracks me up 😂

But at least they have a great sense of humour with lots of irony and deep sarcasm and don't take themselves too seriously 😊
Nordic region is mainly Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland - as compared to Scandinavia which is only the three first countries.
Scandinavia is Norway and Sweden because they are in the Scandinavia peninsula. Denmark we sometimes call Scandinavia because of SAS the airline.
@@margarethaberglin911 No, most often Denmark is included in Scandinavia. The peninsula is indeed Sweden and Norway.
@@margarethaberglin911 Scandinavia is Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The name comes from the mountain range straddling the border of Norway and Sweden. It actually continues down to Denmark, but is so beaten down that almost nothing remains of it there.

I live in MidSweden (Värmland/Wermland).🌞🌿
A tip to get the pronunciation of "Ystad" correctly (or as close one can get to it), is to use the Y-sound in "Cybil", in the beginning of "Y-stad"..☺️😃
Not "ee", but "ü"...kind of how germans say "hi/bye" (tschüß/tschüss)..😃😁😊
Love your channel and looking forward to browsing through the videos!🤗❤
Hello, thank you so much for the tip! The "y" in Cybil makes that seem so much easier to get right now! 🙏 And thank you for taking the time to subscribe that's really appreciated ❤️ We hope you enjoy the videos from elsewhere on our travels just as we (however briefly) enjoyed your beautiful country 🥰❤️
@@comealongdearYou're welcome! ❤🙏😊
Thank you! You seem to be such fun people, and I believe I have hours ahead of me, loaded with interesting and fun bingewatching your videos!😁👏🥰❤️
Have a really nice day!❤️🙏🌞🌿😊
Our videos do vary from subject to subject, but we hope you get something enjoyable from at least some of them 🤞 Thank you again ❤️ 🙏
Thanks for letting us come along with you 🙂
You're very welcome, thank you for watching! ❤️
Sweden is beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Great vlog! I’m looking forward to your next one x
Thanks Lindsay 🥰 Sweden is indeed beautiful, it needs far more time than we gave it! Glad you enjoyed it ❤️
what a great day too, blue sky all day, entire experience looks totally awesome!
In the UK we learn to quickly cherish blue sky days as they're rare, I imagine it can be similar in Sweden
Wow, Ystad is glorious! And that beach looked tropical!
Hello, thank you, I'm glad we managed to do it some justice! I must say the amazing weather helped 🙏😍
Thank you guys for a really nice video.
Much appreciated.
Love from Sweden 😃
Hello, you're very welcome, so pleased you enjoyed it ❤️😍
I'm born in Holland but have lived 37 years just outside Simrishamn on the southeast coast of Sweden. 13.02 & 13.33 A very dear friend has a pottery there. Nowadays I live in Jokkmokk just above the Arctic Circle.
Ah that's lovely, and how great you've got to experience living in both ends of the country 😍 Are winters difficult at all where you are now?
Much love to you both ❤️ 🤟
Sure i saw Steven smile on the beach! maybe it was just a happy looking frown 😁
Surely an illusion, or a Swedish mirage, or most likely a bit of wind, as what you're suggesting is too terrifying and ridiculous to be true 😲
I'm pretty much sure that 4:40 Dan said, "let's have a stroke", and I just can't unsee smiling Steven in the back 😂
I’m Australian and have wanted nothing more all my life than to live in Europe. I’m still hoping that will work out for me at some point ❤
Welcome to our beautiful country! Too bad you missed the Ystad jazz festival.
Thank you, that would've been something to experience, although I'm glad we got to see the town when it was relatively quiet ❤️
Just perfect 😍
And thank you for the pronunciation tip, appreciate it 👍 😁
how beautiful is that beach wow most people think off sweeden as ice snow cold safe journeys guy donny
G. xx
Thank you Gary, god it felt amazing to have that little cabin, it does remind us what we don't have in the van but not enough to want to stop yet 😁
I am glad you are enjoying my home country!
Don't blame u guy's for grabbing the ferry, why not, bit of luxury at the end of the day. Great vid & all the best lads.
Thank you for all your hard work putting this video together Sweden looks amazing xx
Hi Linda, thank you as always, so pleased you enjoyed it 🤗 Sweden is a dream! I wish we had longer there

Almost 2,000 subscribers and 53,500 views on one vlog. Incredible. Thank you Sweden 🇸🇪 ✊👍❤️🥂
Now we're officially bigger than Taylor Swift, I'm assuming we're getting an invite to stay with the Swedish royal family any day now
Yeah Skåne is amazing, the light 😍 Living in Stockholm at the moment but lived in other places in Sweden too. It's a shame you won't have time to visit northern Sweden, and up into Norway and Nordkap to see the midnight sun 😍.
One day we will return we hope! Such a big country and we only got a taste of it, but we want more now! ❤️
Glad you liked Sweden. Welcome back
Thank you, your country is wonderful from what we saw ❤️
That makes sense, we should probably do that in the UK since it's nearly always windy somewhere there!
Love you two! I went to Sweden couple of years ago and loved it. Will be watching you two more 😂
Ah thank you Jean 😊 Glad you're enjoying the vids, and yes isn't Sweden wonderful! Which part did you go to?
I could smell that beautiful sea
I need them.pickles 😅
Thank you guys, as always

So happy you enjoyed it, and thank you for joining us again 😊 ❤ That pickle thing was divine! Hoping we took a picture of it somewhere because neither of us can remember what it was now 😂
You have a great week too, take care ❤
Swede here, the pickles are called Bostongurka (Boston cucumber), made by a brand called Felix here in Sweden. Hope you can find it, if you liked it that much. 😊 We usually have it on hamburgers and hot dogs.
You need to visit the sout-east side, Småland, forest, rivers, and the coast.
Hello, we were in South east Skåne (I think), but one day if we go back we hope we can see more 🙏
@@comealongdear You are welcome! Now we go into midsummer, and we go to Öland, the island..
Hahaha, your buddy there "I´m not allowed to talk during the intro, Then i have some snacks instead"
😂 he's definitely not banned from speaking. It would be easier for me if he spoke more - then I could eat the snacks instead 😂
Thank you, I think it must take a long time to master pronunciation in a new country, and from the way we're saying things, it's definitely obvious we didn't have enough of that to get it right 😳😂
Happy to see you here in Sweden 😊💝💝
And we were very happy to be there 😁❤️
Great time to come here. Spring is best time. Micke Sweden ♥️
Thanks Micke, yep it definitely felt like Springtime was ideal! Not sure how busy it gets but if it's like the UK certain seaside places get really crowded in the summer holidays (understandably)
Its not so crowded. Is only 10 miljon live in Sweden in a very long country. The whole population fit in London.😁
3:27 No, that's Poland and slightly to the right is Germany. Slightly to the left is surprisingly enough, Denmark by the island of Bornholm.
Thanks, I think the part of the coast we were stood on faced directly east rather than south east, which (as the crow flies) looked far more like it landed on Lithuania to me, heading directly east from there, but my eyes might not be aligning with my map too well 🥴
You must come back here and go up north next time :D And also visit Gotland where Pippi Långstrump’s house is It’s a beautiful Island!
We would love so much to return to Sweden and explore the north. I'll add Gotland to the list 😁 Hopefully one day!
All seasons in Sweden is so nice and great. I'm a swede so of course I love my country. 😊❤
We love the seasons too, not everyone does in the UK during winter, but it's great to see the weather and landscape change through the year ❤️
Bonus shower!!! True joy. Hope it was a good one. 🤣🚌❤️
It's pickled cucumber with onion, and red pepper😅
Have a nice trip!
Love from Sweden
Hello, thank you ❤️ Boston cucumber was an absolute revelation...we need to go back to Sweden just for that 😂 Thank you for telling us the ingredients, we might also try to make it by looking for a recipe 😀
Such a lovely video of southern Sweden. I have been to all of those places myself!❤
Thank you so much, they are wonderful places to visit 😊 ❤️
Wallander... perhaps try the v-sound in valour, but a smidge quick? va-lander. (not a phonetist :-)
Thank you, so it kind of is said with a "v" then?!
@@comealongdear V and W is pronounced the same in Swedish. W is mostly seen in names, I think.
Think we'll have to find that, it might even be on TH-cam I think 😁
The pronounciation of Ystad starts
the same way as you pronounce the y in "your", kind of y and j mixed. Then just add "stad", a prononced as a in "star". 😊
Thank you ❤️
I live in Sweden and it was my city who inspired Westeros in Game of Thrones name (its spelled Västerås but Westeros is how you say the name 🙂) I wonder how many who have travelled to my hometown and get dissapointed over that only the name is the similarity. 😁
Haha that's an interesting fact! You'd hope that a Game of Thrones fan might research that before travelling all the way there, but I'm sure it must have happened a few times 🤣 Hope it's still a nice place for you to live though?
Don't miss Simrishamn and the small fishingtown of Baskemölla, really nice just like Råå opposite Denmark and south of Helsingborg!
Thanks for the tip ❤️🙏
I love a good detective series. I’m also known as our local Miss Marple too. 😉👍
That's all well and good but is Local Marple another name for a nosy Konst? 🤔😜 Although frankly who cares if it is, we all want to be a Marple. Better get investigating those 17 second homes and unused 3200 acres, I dread to think what's happening! (and I want footage of what is, if it is)
😂😂😂😂❤️❤️🥂🥂xxx
@@comealongdearIn Southern Sweden it's a common occurrence with heatwaves.
Thank you so much 😍 We try our best but it rarely works. We often can't even pronounce places properly in our own country 😂🙈
Once again another enjoyable watching vlog. Looked like you had a great time. Thanks for posting!!
Thank you Lee, so pleased you liked it 😍 We had a blast there and really enjoyed a mix of nature and then exploring the old town of Ystad
Dan, some of us love looking at your muscles keep sharing them and shorts are always a good thing to be in love PJ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
No muscles to be found here Paul 🤣 But thank you, the exercising comes and goes, we have both slacked on it recently however! Oh well, we're in Germany, the beer is more appealing 😉🤣 Shorts have been the order of the day since arrival however, it's been very very humid here!
Hi guys oh my days the way that forest opened out onto thst beach so beautiful a wonderful place thankyou for sharing 😊
Hi guys thank you, it was sensational there and hardly passed a single human soul either 😍
Glad you enjoyed the video, thank you ❤️
If you like beaches, you'll love the island Gotska Sandön, the whole island is sand
If you come back to Sweden, I can probably arrange two places to stop by in Northern Sweden :) water + electricity available. Hope you have time to see northern Sweden some day!
Hello, thank you for the kind offer, hopefully we can come back and see more in future 🙏❤️
You two make me smile. I love your jokey nature. Ystad looks beautiful. No litter whatsoever I noticed. Enjoy Germany. ilona xxx
Bring on Germany 🇩🇪
Hi Paul 😁 We all love muscles, but not convinced either of us has muscles as such to show off. A bit of sunburnt skin maybe 😂 The t-shirt definitely suited Stephen and thank you for saying so 😊
Sweden is gorgeous we would love to go back and see more and the people are so friendly (also really handy they speak English well and seem to enjoy doing so for us useless Brits!)
Thank you for the comment on the editing, that's so encouraging to hear, as it does take some time to put these together so it's lovely to get positive feedback 🙏❤️
Separate beds, blame Stephen, he booked it 😂 They did fine though, it was just so nice to have a cabin to ourselves!
Thank you and see you in Germany 🇩🇪 😍
Stens huvud is a wonferful in the spring, i go there at least one time every year. Great video by the way.
Thank you! We definitely visited at the right time, hardly anyone about either 😍 So lovely that you get to go there semi-regularly ❤️
Ystad reminds me a bit of York. 😍
Bizarre that I (Dan) have never been to York but we drove to Ystad, we really need to amend that! Stephen went once years ago I think
Yeah Stens huvud and that region of Sweden is great! Anyone else interested goung there, I would recommend seeing Kivik, Brösarps backar, my favorite: Forsakar and Åhus (lovely long beach).
Thank you for the tips 🥰
Wow what a fabulous journey you guys are on, I hope your 7 hour ferry trip was bareable and best of luck in Germany
Hello, that sounds like our English summers, only with more chance of added rain with ours 😂 We were lucky to enjoy beautiful Swedish weather when we visited at the end of May
So cool, I am considering getting an RV myself, or a sail boat. Can't decide.
Ooh, choices! A boat would be a fun way to travel for sure, though very weather dependent I guess
Stenshufvud is translated Stoneshead. Or Sten is a quite common name here. So Stens head. The ”head” is the small look out spot grazing over the Baltic Sea. Have a nice stay🇸🇪
Ah thank you for that info, we always like to know where names come from 🥰
@@comealongdear You can see the "head" looking like a big green bump in the background at 4:45.

Nice video and thanks for promoting Sweden. Stenshuvud is really beautiful. However, I think the Finnish would feel humiliated for not being included in "the Nordic region". And you could have asked a local to get the pronunciation of "Ystad" right...😂
Thank you! Apologies for excluding Finland - I was unsure what classified as what, but I think some of the replies here have clarified it nicely now ❤️
Cheers from Sweden 🙂🤙
Cheers to you too! (From the UK but currently in Germany 🇩🇪 😀)
Helo and welcome to my country

Have a great time 😁
I m always dissapointed of the brown beches when I go abroad to other countrys because I m use to miles of swedish white sand by the sea
From what we saw (including a beach near Ystad) your beaches can be stunning. We have some like that here in the UK, but we also have the not so nice ones you described as well

The clearness of the water…. makes me wonder how it is i UK 😅
40,000 views. It’s usually the van tours that get the most views. Maybe you need to just move to Sweden…😉😂❤️👍
Something has definitely gone awry in the matrix with this one 😂 Since we can't afford to move to Sweden, I suspect the only solution to keep this up is to do a series of videos in Jaywick, Medway and Luton
@@comealongdear 😂😂😂
When were you on MY beach, because it has been closed for some time now?
Hello, that was in May and definitely was open then
looks nice there guys
It was fantastic there, so glad we went! Wish we could see more of Sweden but we're happy we got to experience what we did! ❤
The first thing I'd do, is ask locals how to pronounce the city name ;)
Hearing you trying to say it the wrong "Swede way" so many times cracks me up 😂
It's what we did in Malmö so I've no idea why we forgot to do that here!
"The Nordic" is Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland.
Scandenavia ia just Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
If you take a swim that time of the year you’ll notice you’re not on a tropical island… 🥶🤷🏼♂️🙂
We did think that would ruin the illusion 🤣
