Just picked up a new 2010 GT a few weeks ago (got a smokin' deal)... nice to know that even though we don't have the 5.0 it is still better than the competition...and hey there is a serious aftermarket for the 4.6 3v this motor is running 9's with a stock longblock...
I love it. The smallest, much lighter car is equal to the SS in 0-80 mph which is all I really care about. The challenger/camaro have FAT dash and center consoles. The chally r/t with its 370hp up from 2008's 350, is a 4080 lb boat. Stang is 500lbs lighter. Cam is 360 lbs more. Stang gets better mpg's too. And ANYONE considering for a minute that this is new 5.0 needs to check mirror, it's not. New 420hp 5.0 does 0-60 4.4 sec,

For 2011, the Blue Oval is introducing a new 3.7-liter V6 Mustang that should give it the firepower and refinement needed to take on Chevrolet's six-cylinder Camaro and Hyundai's upstart Genesis Coupe. But it isn't just the spanking all-aluminum powerplant and its 305 horsepower and 280 foot-pounds of torque

Do they have road testing on these cars for 2011? The Mustang might clean house this year...??? 305hp V6 and its lighter than the Camaro and Challenger. And gets 31mpg.
I'm planning on getting a 2010 2SS Camaro 6-speed but someone was telling me to wait for the 2011s because his axle split on his 2010 so he sold it. He told me to check out the consumer's reports online but I didn't find any reports re: faulty axles. I'm still going after the Camaro around April next year. I have 10 grand saved up but I want to save another 5 grand.
It sounds weird but I swear like a week ago I saw a brand new white '10 Ford Mustang on the street right outside my house. First I thought it was the 05-09 model but I noticed the rearlights was a bit different and the sound was massive when it took of. The reason its kinda weird is that it is a 2010 model which came out for sale not long ago in USA and I live in this random little town in nowhere in Norway. That doesn't make sense. The only Mustang in town before that one was a 62 cab and coupe
Honestly I doubt I would ever take any of the on a track ever, so I'd have the challenger hands down. It's the best looking, the most comfortable, and in my opinion the best sounding (having ridden in all 3)
@lHustonProductionsl Okay, can we come to an agreement? The Challenger is beyond bulky and aerodynamically challenged. Yeah, it may have taken 40 some years, but the Mustang has been in production since...'65? I honestly prefer the older version of all three, not that I don't like the new '11 Mustang, I'd just rather have a '69-'72 Mach 1. Now, the Z28 or 78 Camaro was nice, but wasn't it out-done by the Mach 1 or am I not remembering it all?
They really need to go for a independent suspension rather then a live axle no matter the price increase. this would make all of these cars much better.
I agree. Ford can't do it without a Supercharger, yeah Chevy uses more displacement but older technology. Plus they are coming out with the Z28 that will be powered by the LSA in the CTS-V. We will then see which Supercharged car will win. P.S. The HPE650 beat the Super Snake ;) and I like Mustangs.
Not much info out there but in Canada the buyers are evenly split, percentage wise, over all. They combined the V6s and the V8s in the study. If you assume the same thing happens here in the U.S. (practically the same country) And a U.S. study found that only 20.6% of women bought the 2010 Camaro SS, That would mean the same is true for V6. Meaning, conversely, and combining the two studies, men also bought 20.6% of the V6s. Let me know if you can't find the studies.

the most amazing thing about what Ford has done... they are the only auto manufacturer that accomplished the amount of power they have using the lowest octane level of fuel on the market. GM and Dodge are pushing for higher octane to get optimal results and power. Although i do use highest octane available in all my vehicles it is just something to think about.
I have never seen an auto out of a stock GM (or any car for that matter) that has yet been tinkerd with or rebuilt or a line lock put in, beat a standard. also i really doubt they nutral droped it, becaus a stock ss does not have a line lock. I think they actually did good around those years in the crash tests.. my dad bought an 05 cause he had read that they were pretty safe. Looking at that crash just looks totally messed up tho, that dummy got a serious whiplash for sure

it doesn't matter what the hp is it's what size motor it takes to get you there and how quick it gets ya down the track...and it doesn't do it a whole lot quicker than the mustang considering it has 100 more hp. where do you get the price is lowest of the 3? a friend of mine bought an ss this past summer for 42 grand where i live....the 2010 mustangs are in the 33 grand area....fully loaded with optional 19s and glass roof it was just 37...so i'm not sure what you're talkin about there....
@chfpontiac As a mechanic I can tell you that pw ratio takes a backseat to engine quality, chevrolet has that, also the camaros unlike the mustangs are weighted to a point where the tires dont spin, my 84 z28 is the same way, and yes Ive driven all three my fav. the challanger, go figure, guess mopar doesnt suck
Wouldn't a srt8 with the 6.1 be a better line up since the ss is the fully loaded one and the Mustang 5.0 is the fully loaded while the rt is the mid grade dodge
The Challenger SRT8 is equivalent to the Camaro ZL1 and the Mustang Shelby GT500, where again it would come in third place to be honest. But this line up is pretty accurate mid-grade wise.

it doesn't matter what the hp is it's what size motor it takes to get you there and how quick it gets ya down the track...and it doesn't do it a whole lot quicker than the mustang considering it has 100 more hp. where do you get the price is lowest of the 3? a friend of mine bought an ss this past summer for 42 grand where i live....the 2010 mustangs are in the 33 grand area....fully loaded with optional 19s and glass roof it was just 37...so i'm not sure what you're talkin about there....
@JOHNNEYBOYFRESH does it run on aaa size batteries or aa ?
@chfpontiac As a mechanic I can tell you that pw ratio takes a backseat to engine quality, chevrolet has that, also the camaros unlike the mustangs are weighted to a point where the tires dont spin, my 84 z28 is the same way, and yes Ive driven all three my fav. the challanger, go figure, guess mopar doesnt suck
Wouldn't a srt8 with the 6.1 be a better line up since the ss is the fully loaded one and the Mustang 5.0 is the fully loaded while the rt is the mid grade dodge
bigkarl24 5.0>SRT8
u stupid.. the shelby gt500 is top line
zl1 is the top of the line not ss
The Challenger SRT8 is equivalent to the Camaro ZL1 and the Mustang Shelby GT500, where again it would come in third place to be honest. But this line up is pretty accurate mid-grade wise.
+regenald neal incorrect, the hell cat is the equivalent to the gt500 and zl1. the srt8 is more on the playong field of the z28 and and gt350r
I personally do not like domestic cars but ford and Lincoln are the only American companies I would actually consider buying from.
@serfdomthwart hell ya it will be. the V6 2011 is going to have nearly as much as the 2010 GT has today. the 2011 is going to be kickass!!
because, back in the 70's their were no SRT or SRT8 designations that chrysler uses today it was just RT.
