    What was the size of the drill bits that you used to drill those holes?

  • @ftrnow
    @ftrnow 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just installed one today but didnt get the inserts. Drilled through the deck and installed the screws countersinking the screws on the back side. Is there an update here. Your instructions on teh web site didnt really describe it very well but it worked out. Youve got to know what your doing to some extent. Why is the gasket perforated for an interior square inside the bolt pattern. I took the inside square and stuck it to the enclosure so teh battery would be sitting by gravity on the padded gasket square. It just made more sense. You guys are the best out there. Drilling through the deck makes more sense to me. IMO

      Yes we’ve updated the included hardware to through bolts and nylon nuts because many of our customers were having trouble with the inserts and the glue.
      The rectangle insert is a byproduct of the manufacturing process, it also helps keep the gasket’s shape during shipping. Our customers usually find a creative way to use it if needed.

    Hey, if the deck is flexy how reliable such an enclosure would be? Wouldn't it break because of the flex of the deck. Thank you

    What size bolts are the mounting hardware, how well does the case flex to fit boards with concave, rake, camber, etc when installing, how can you waterproof the slot for where the cables come out of? Would like to hear some answers to those questions

    CAuse i would like to try to put a huge battery under a flexible loaded vanguard deck ( 10s5p or 12s4p ) and the the double enclosure is not very appealing

  • @foustjosh
    @foustjosh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    unfortunately this is definitely not the best enclosure out there. its difficult to mount properly, the hardware leaves a little to be desired but the worst part is how fragile the enclosure is. as time goes on, the screw holes become weak and you will find the plastic holes eventually wear through and break. i like the look and size of it but the attachment method and screw holes need work.

    The worst enclosure I've seen is the Verreal F1 enclosure. All the screws broke inside the metal enclosure, a very bad design.
    Will you be making a removable battery enclosure? An enclosure for flexible decks is needed.

      @MBoardsco  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Instead of using that foam as a water barrier you could instead use a heat resistant materials to glue to the enclosure itself before screwing it to the deck. This way the material will not break down like the foam will and the glue keeps the gap closed. You can use heat to release the glue when you open it up and also to attach the material again. I am doing a DIY project where I am going to use the material linked below for the water barrier. You may want to try this out and use it in a future iteration of the enclosures. This is how one of my completed boards is assembled and it has been great.

    • @Mr-E.
      @Mr-E. 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Brennan - What glue did you use that you can heat up when releasing, and also when re-attaching? The oven liner material you linked on Amazon seems like it is sturdy and would be less likely to deteriorate... but not sure on what glue works for it.

    Let me translate the introduction to you guys we made a piece of s*** enclosure and if you tightened it too much it cracked and it's your fault

    • @MBoardsco
      @MBoardsco  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The enclosures are indeed plastic. Like all plastic, the enclosure can break if over tightened. To avoid damage, you’ll definitely want to tighten your screws until your enclosure is just snug. Any further can cause damage.
