      Something exploring how to match wheel size, trucks, and deck style to avoid any obvious build mistakes like wheel bite or wheel/truck incompatibility. Beginner builders might assume all parts are compatible, when many aren't. Cool vids, btw!

    4:00 it depends on the road. If your roads are super rough a softer wheel can absorb the road and if your roads are smooth harder wheels will have less resistance to the road. Kinda like bicycle tires.

    just bought your all-terrain wheels but didn't realize they don't fit very well on standard trucks, in this case atlas trucks . There was about a 1/4" of axle sticking out on the nut side, I was able to solve the problem by flipping the axle nut over so the nylon locking material would make plenty of contact. This will be a push board for now and i think this solution works well. I hope to upgrade to the mboards extended trucks later this summer. the all terrain wheels are nicely made and look super durable. thanks

    I went with 90mm, 78a. Mostly focused on range with some comfort in mind. Almost got the 97mm but i think 90mm will be fine for a street setup gives me a little extra juice too.

    Actually the cloud wheels can be hard to do a dual adjacent setup with; even with the extended trucks.

    how significant is the different between the abec 11 wheel and a abec 11 clone?

  • @nikolasescuza2
    @nikolasescuza2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Regarding the car wheel analogy: an over-inflated wheel reduces its contact patch, so it's making less friction with the road when putting smooth power down (that's what gets you the better milage).
    Having said that, I'd assume a narrower contact patch would have more of an effect on range
    (I'm new to skating, but I hope this input helps)

    • @nikolasescuza2
      @nikolasescuza2 ปีที่แล้ว

      also, a softer compound should absob more imperfections and help keep contact with the road at high speed acceleration (once again, assuming car logic)

    • @MBoardsco
      @MBoardsco  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      80mm seems to be the smallest, might be able to find 75mm wheels out there somewhere with one of the main types of cores, but 80 seems to be pretty much the smallest mainstream wheels.

    What would happen if I attached a direct drive system to the battery and ESC of a backfire G3? What would happen? Would it work??

    • @MBoardsco
      @MBoardsco  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The direct drives work with a ton of ESCs. It would be worth trying with your current ESC. Worst case scenario it’d be a quick ESC swap if you aren’t happy with the performance.

    • @matthewjsherman
      @matthewjsherman 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      MBoards would it break anything? The backfire G3 uses two 450watt motors but every belt/direct seems to be like 3000 watts? Do would it be slow? Idek

    • @MBoardsco
      @MBoardsco  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It shouldn’t break anything, you just wouldn’t be running the direct drives at their full potential.

    • @MBoardsco

      Like cars and other metal objects, screws can rust over time. If this turns out to be more of a problem in your area you can always look into Stainless Steel screws.

    Why all wheels are so expensive?

    • @MBoardsco
      @MBoardsco  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Orangatang wheels are a bit expensive due to the premium formula. And wheels imported from out of country are a bit pricey because of how heavy they are and the shipping costs to get them here.
