The problem is that you have to buy it from a flipper called a dealer. So most of those discounts are going right into their pockets.
Are you serious? Only a Democrat Biden voter could be as ignorant as you.
happy with my Tesla model 3 if I need a pickup i just rent one.
Buying that truck new would be overpaying, even with the discounts. My CEO picked up a F150 L, with only 5k miles on it in immaculate condition for 34k USD. It was a local dealer leaseback and the lot had a bunch of them. A month later he picked up a 2022 Mach E with 9k miles for 21k USD. That was also a lease return. He just had to wait 3 weeks for them to replace a faulty motor…..well worth that wait in my opinion to get it for that price.
Where and name of this dealer please…I want that deal.
It's only worth what he paid 🗑😂
@@melissasmess2773 It is only worth now what it can be sold for today. That could be more or less.
The competition is great, & will only accelerate the adoption of EVs/reduce purchase of combustion vehicles.
All this trouble for what the mainstream media and haters essentially has labeled a “flop”. The CT is just getting started and ramping up this year. What’s the competition going to do by next year when it’s at full production and possibly outselling their ICE equivalents too? I guess we’ll see how serious they’ll get by the end of this year if CT sales continue to grow at its current rate.
F150 Lightning confirmed for Australia starting end of April.
So another US vehicle manufacturer is going to dump vehicles that they couldn't sell in the US ? Shocker
Pretty much, but we're super happy to take them - we have no electric Ute's (pick-up trucks) worth mentioning here (and only one not worth mentioning).
can they be converted too right hand drive? Chinese electric double cabin as it was called in Thailand already there
Yep, first ones are available from that company that converts them to RHD.
nothing yet mentioned on Ford Australia website.
That discount wont mean much if the dealers turn around and jack the price up to the moon!
There's a reason why Tesla take their time to develop. So they don't go the same way as GM did by getting to the deadline...and nothing is achieved because it was rushed too soon
Nope. GM has 4 times the brains
( engineers)
@@robertfonovic3551 so how come there's no GM in the streets but Tesla?
@@robertfonovic3551 ??????????????????
Well, the REAL reason Tesla needs to take time is that there manufacturing line, the machine to make the machine, cost much more in up front capital investment. Custom tooling, giga press, specialized robots. This measurable design cycle in time gives them the time to focus on the entire design. As per the comment about who has the better engineering talent, the best engineers in the world need good leadership and smart innovative vision, focus, and determination to create great products with superior technology and value. I give Tesla the nod here over any car company. They have a level of technology convergence in their products that others do not. Influence from space and rocketry materials and science, AI/machine learning who’s is applied not only to robots and self driving, but to manufacturing itself, battery storage systems and software, and this list goes on.
F150 Lightning🤔...nah
Tempting...!
.... and most of them said "I won't get fooled again."
We're you fooled before ?
@@garywozniak7742 no, I never bought an EV. Did you?
@@garywozniak7742 Yes
Ford knows they will make their money back in repairs
Massive liquidation... Vehicles aren't selling good across the board... It's not just EVs, but the lighting became a lot less popular after the CT launch.
The Silverado EV is a paper launch.
If Ford could scale up production, perhaps they can sell at a lower price and keep the total loss at the same amount?
After hearing the first 15 seconds, my first thought is: Try to get the discount so I can turn around and resell it and buy another Tesla.
Dealers don't want to budge... These discounts are mainly from Ford or government
If it would navigate to Tesla charging stations and have the quick charging I would want one. The aluminum body is great. No idea if the battery tech is any good. I've got a dead 2000 Ranger EV in my garage that they never supported, so I'm a bit frosty about it.
If you have a dead Ford EV how could you even think about getting another Ford? I wouldn't give them the time of day.
I want that Ranger EV!
If Ford would just update the Lightning's Charger from 150kw to 250+kw, heck sell now and promise a dealership installed battery charger upgrade kit this year, the Lightning would be a good value vehicle to buy. But they refuse to address a such a terribly slow travel experience with it. The price may be adjusted right now for more consumers to buy into, but if you need to travel, every reviewer says it's just painful with it's current charging rate...
I can’t believe just how much new vehicles cost these days. What is even more amazing to me is how the general public’s perception that these over inflated prices are “ normal” in the minds of the consumer. Marketing has become the go to vehicle to deceive and manipulate the public’s perception of real value.
Ford recalled 50,000 F-150 *ICE* cars for *fire* - seems their fuel injectors were prematurely igniting the fuel. Viking's got an article on it, check it out!
Dam bought a lightning 3 weeks ago. Have a reservation on a cybertruck didn't want to wait 2 years.
Send the f150 lightning to Australia
It’s not so much a good deal as it is a fire sale… This EV pick-up lunacy makes no sense once you move past green virtue signaling (misplaced as it may be) and arrive at the point where you actually need to use a pick-up as a commercial work tool.
A lot of CT reservations are people trying to flip em, once the hype dies down, lots of reservations will be cancelled.
I've always thought a refundable reservation on a CT is virtually meaningless. Anyone can walk away from their CT reservation without financial consequences. Actually buying a Tesla is substantially different. if you put a deposit on a new Tesla, and then decide you want to buy a "Y" instead of a MOdle 3, the deposit on the Model 3 is not refundable. Ask me how i know.😏
Great deals cheers mate
Don't want a thing from Ford.
Well if one could put a camper shell on the Cybertruck, I might even go for one. And that’s despite not liking the design of it!!
It had better be a massive discount being that it is technically way behind the CT. Since Ford is already losing $36,000 on each Lightning produced sounds like they will lose even more. Not a winning strategy, Ford is getting desperate.
I own a Model X P100D, model 3 AWD LR and a f150 Lightning XLT extended range. I drive about 1000 miles a week. The lighting is by far the quietest and most comfortable on the highway. The interior build quality is way better even though the finishes are made of cheaper materials. Yes it charges slower, but it also consistently gets 260 miles of range from 90%-10% vs the model 3 that gets 210 miles and the model X that barely makes it 170 miles 90%-10% in real world driving. Even if the range was the same I would still prefer the Ford because of the comfort. I love my Teslas for the FSD, the speed and the way Tesla is pushing the automotive market to a cleaner future. But I love Ford for the quiet comfortable freeway ride, the honest range, the 110v and 240 v outlets, the vehicle to house capability, the functioning rear locker, and 360 camera. I’ll buy Tesla stock, but I find myself preferring the ford as my daily.
🗑😂
Your EV is powered by petroleum and its not green for production or scrapping.
For me to be interested in a Ford lightning it have to be around the $25,000 range
I’d buy one. As much as people shit on the Lightning, it’s actually a great car. The charging speed isn’t great, but I’ll gladly put up with slightly longer road trips for a nice truck like that.
It's a good marketing strategy; anyone with a CT reservation can walk away from their reservation without losing their money. So, if Ford can provide a product, why wait? Ford does now have access to Tesla/s network.
I originally wanted the Lightning, but at the time were marked up. I got my MYLR and would lose $9K if I traded in today. So I will wait.. and wait..
Yup. People need to understand that the only reason cybertruck has 2 million reservations is because its people looking to make a quick buck. If lightning was online only i bet you it would have had more than 2 million reservations. Dealerships profits got in the way
Production is likely to increase shortening wait times significantly.
I recently drove a family members CyberPunk.. and wish I had the means to acquire one, but sadly I don't. But, I would rather have a small EV pickup so in the wait for that possibility. In the mean time.....................
PS! The Lightning is worthy, but the CyberPunk is of another order beyond.
Morning mate
1500 dollars, a MASSIVE DISCOUNT!
I think not 🤷
Seriously?? Ford?😂
They gotta make it look cooler
The Ford Maverick Hybrid looks pretty good but its a hybrid. LOL.
My sisters dog has a Tesla
If only frogs could sell them directly to customers like Tesla does… that would give them so much more control of the consumer price
Don't think the Lighting will drive itself any time soon.
Yea I don’t think so I’ll wait
You've been waiting 2000 years, might as well wait a little longer. 😂
@alexishart1989 got 40,000 on my 2021 model 3, the piece of mind this car gives me i can wait till the wheels fall off
@Jesusisking620 fair enough. Teslas are fine automobiles.
@alexishart1989 immma moapar man personally but i cant justify the gas prices and repairs when i havnt had to touch this car, if anything i like the new ram with the gas generator, waiting to see if it blows up first
It's simple marketing-101, "Buy a customer, don't make a sale".
A $5K saving is nice, but consumers who can afford more than a $70K car don't really need a $5K discount. If they like the car, then just buy it.
*Your videos are really great, thx for that* 😍
“…Cybertruck sold out for the next 17,000 years.” LOL ROFL LMAO 😂
Math is susect here
I don't understand why they having to discount these cars to sell them. Do you think there is some psychology here that the Ford buyers are getting a chance to have a go at Tesla?
'Value for money' means nothing in this context. Value depends only on what you're buying. Do you value one of these.
Clever ...
Still a 60,000 dollar vehicle.
Agreed. I guess 52.5K with the point of sale tax credit. That is still a lot of $$$.
@@dianewallace6064 only for the ridiculously low range base model that no one wants.
@@niceguyrides I drove to Ford last night in Winston-Salem North Carolina. They had zero Lightenings on the lot and 2 MachEs left. The MachEs were marked down to 46K which is a good price then you get the 7.5K pos tax credit in the US. So that's good but for me its a day late and a dollar short because I bought an Ioniq 6 in January for 38K and LOVE it. The Mavericks (hybrid) were 40K. All the ICE Ford trucks were marked down. I did not look at the Broncos b/c who cares? My husband did but I can't remember if the Broncos were marked down.
@@dianewallace6064 sadly, the Maverick hybrid was suppose to top out at 28000$… they are just abusing people with those at dealerships. All that just makes me want to do business with companies like Tesla who have gotten rid of the middleman.
@@niceguyrides Agreed. Tesla or Rivian. Hubby has an R1T and I have an Ioniq 6 which I got at a dealer for $38k.
Ford needs to stop competing on price, they just need to build a better product, I don’t want a slow charging truck with bad range no matter how cheap it is, they should put some decent CATL condensed energy batteries that will fix their range and charge time problems all at once
FSD is now $99 a month…. That’s gonna slaughter the competition
What competition???? 😂
Teslas competition is coming All over them self 😂😂😂
FSD? Lol…
@@mathysdupreez602 it’s called full self driving. It is indeed a Tesla technology
@@mikafiltenborg7572 I don’t really get what you mean by that
@@DreDresChapters Yes, indeed it is. And Tesla’s autonomous driving technology works so well that Tesla had to settle a lawsuit for it having killed a Tesla engineer, no less. As an added bonus, it’s name is misleading - FSD cannot actually fully autonomously drive the car and still needs fully alert driver supervision to be legally used. It is in essence just a fancy cruise control that would be illegal to use fully autonomously in most places in the world to boot. It actually makes driving less safe, because people being people, they over-rely on a technology that is still reliant on a competent, alert human driver overseeing it. I highly doubt that any Tesla competitor is losing too much sleep about any of that…
Fix the stupid slow charging, make it look cooler.... oh yeah and make it bulletproof and made out of stainless. Then I'll buy the Ford.
Forgot.... also make it take real OTA updates and be capable of driving itself on even back roads and parking lots.
Bulletproof because nobody is going to shoot your candyass through the windshield or windows. Get your face out of Elons's crotch.
Fix the stupid slow charging...Improve software drastically.....oh yeah and lower the price. Then I'll buy a lightning. Please no expensive stainless that then needs expensive wraps.... I guess I am not gangsta enough to care for bulletproof and to me the lightning looks the best of all the EV trucks, although it could use a refresh like 2024 ICE f150's...
No need to buy Ford Lightning since no NACS plug installed yet!
Ford will lose $20k on each of these.
When a vehicle costs more than a house you should be legally allowed to live in it!
Odd they can't sell overpriced things to a impoverished society...
You can't tie two motorcycles in the back vertically, it isn't a truck! 💯🤡💩

They should Pay us to take them away even the 5 bucks you mentioned is to much for any ford
If it has at least 6ft bed mabye... oh and a 10 year warranty. Then hope ford doesn't go bankrupt

I don't know what it's like in your country - but here in Germany you only can return a product if you buy it directly online. That's not the case if you buy it from a middle-man aka dealer.
But just go on and buy this piece of crap - doesn't harm nor benefit me anyways.
Tires are good.
ford has to realize they to have innovate else they would be out in a couple of years.
First lightening is boring looking
😂😂😂😂😂😂Ford?
So the plan is to fight over the small group of people who want ev's?
AMERICA OVER CAPACITY OF DEBT PLAFON
Love the channel but to the people still lining up to buy a EV are insane or rich and insane...
Just because some people do stuff you wouldn't do or you don't understand, it doesn't mean they are insane. It might simply mean they have different way of looking at things. And about being rich? I'm not sure you are aware, but EVs can get cheaper than ICE cars. Buying a brand new ICE car under $20000 is not as rewarding as you may think, it's very probably a shitbox, and if you add the cost of fuel and / or maintenance, it's not that cheap in the long run.
Take even the cheapest EV you can buy now, probably the Model 3. That's about $33000 if you can get the $7500 discount. Some states actually have even more discounts on top of that, making it even cheaper than $30000.
That comes with so much technology on it that on add-ons alone it's worth an extra $ 10000 at a traditional brand. And the driving... it's not even comparable. Now you might disagree with me and believe the Hyundai Venue is a better car. But I doubt you'll be in majority (and sales numbers seem to side with me).
@@bytemark6508 sorry, but anti science leftists and their scams is getting old...
Ford have to many subpar f150 lightenings for sale as they get rid of them , Why would someone with anywhere near a brain go for a Ford half arsed ev truck?
I can drive Chicago to NYC in one long haul with an ICE car. That's about 1100 miles. With a 320 mile range, a safety margin yo hit the next fast charger...oops, that will be two long days plus a motel.
Great for local shopping runs, but most Americans are used to weekend trips where we do 200-300 miles out on Friday and the same return on Sunday. That 300 mile range thing still is a wet blanket.
I DO THAT IN MY TESLA EVERY WEEEKEND, PLUS I CHARGE ON SOLAR. SO FREE. CAN U DO THAT IN YOU ICE TRUCK? OF COURSE NOT.
300 miles divided by 70 mph = 4.2857 hrs to get there. During this 4.2857 hrs you're probably going to need stop at a rest room or stop for food. During this stop for restroom or food, you could be adding some charge to your battery. Doesn't have to be a full charge.

And you can still buy 2 model ys for the price gtfo
Saw the new all electric GMC Sierra yesterday morning, and I have to say … it looked incredible.
Lucid air huge discounts, now Ford ? This can’t all be by coincidence… could it be they are trying to off everything before new batteries 🔋 (CATL?) start ending up in new vehicles … what is everyone having a fire sale?
Nobody wants then, that's why the price is dropped.
australia price is $250k hahahahahahahahahahaha no wonder v8 petrols will rul for another 300 years
Ha ha ha, a Ford? No thanks.
Ford is so cute I can’t wait for later this year when they license FSD from Tesla.
I agree it would be cute.
After Tesla allows Ford to use its chargers.
Tesla should now charge Ford owners extra subscription to use Tesla chargers!
Low ball, low class kick in the balls from Ford.
Allows? They were pretty much forced to and they do charge extra. It would cost more to drive a f150 ev than it would V8
I’m not in the market for a Cybertruck, but if I were Ford could offer me an F150 Lightning for free and I still wouldn’t take it. It simply doesn’t compare even the slightest bit to a Cybertruck.
Cyberjunk 😂
@@melissasmess2773 which is why Ford is willing to lose even more money on their lightning truck than they already are, because the Cybertruck is junk? 😂
But with slow DC “fast” charging, bum ugly looks (I guess old “truck guys” might like it though), lazy boy no grip seats, no air suspension or even magneride and sloppy traditional truck handling… sorry that’s going to be a HARD pass… at any price. And oh yeah… gotta deal with scumbag dealers. Rivian or Cybertruck only thank you.
Way 2 much blah blah blah until you say something.
The Lightning is an inferior product. Slow charging, small battery, questionable build quality, massive depreciation,... The Chevy maybe a different story. Instead of hyping discounts, just talk in terms of current price. A $14k discount on a massively overpriced vechile isnt a great deal. Car Edge showed a CarMax offer of only $39k for a Lightning with 500 miles on it.
Lost all your credibility when you said ford has questionable build quality compared to Tesla.
I'd buy a long range one for 30k and be quite happy with an inferior product
The CT has roughly the same range as the lightning, It charges just as poorly just like the lightning as it can't maintain peak charging speeds for long, tesla build quality is inconsistent and tesla vehicles suffer from big depreciation as well, the cybertruck will lose it's novelty at some point i.e prices and values will come down eventually. A used lightning at 50000 dollars is much better value for money than a CT at 100 000 new or buying it for 200 000 usd from the used market
Questionable build quality on the lightening vs the CT? You’re a comedian or a clown. Not sure which.
GM and Ford are not in the automotive making business. They are in the free government bailout business.
I would never own a Ford vehicle ever!! 1970’s Found on Road Dead, Fix or Repair Daily, Fifteenth on Race Day. Tesla is my first US made vehicle to own in my lifetime!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
People waited on the CT over hype and promises Tesla never delivered on. The Ford is a better deal and a better truck with far less "bugs".
Nope it's crap. Individuals and companies that purchased them are dumping them.
Nobody's buying EVs because consumers have figured out they're too expensive and nobody wants to waste time charging.
