The contrast between the well maintained bike/rail trails and the yards full of rusty cars is shocking. Twenty-five miles with a late start is really amazing, great job. Thanks!
Good miles despite a somewhat more sketchy camp than usual. But it is nice that you do find people willing to give you water. On the AT we get so spoiled of all those cool mountain springs that we begin to take water for granted. Not so!! Hike on! (And NOT to Montana again . . . ) Tortoise
I just watched a Darwin on the Trail gag reel. It reminded me of just how produced his stuff is. Makes me glad the current crop of hikers (including yourself) has gone back to guerilla-style vlogging (and other kinds of adventurers, e.g. Miles in Transit)
WOW! A Sinclair gas station. They left the east coast in the 70s. My dad owned one when they went to ARCO. I have a replica 3 car garage Sinclair gas station I built a couple years ago. I heard they have returned to the east coast in conjunction with Marathon. According to the googles, that Sinclair station was previously a Marathon.
Nice one ! Great you had new shoes ( in time) . Went hiking past w-e and found a tric to stow your hiking poles away when so you have your hands free when it rains .Yep , you inspired me to get an umbrella ! So simply slide them under your left shoulderbelt , when the grips slide down on the belt just pass the chestbelt through the handstraps of the poles. Keep it up
Watched the Mississippi River trip, some familiar places , kind of. We bicycled from south of Venice where the pavement ended upriver to Lake Itasca and then 2 more days to International Falls. About 2300 miles in about 5 weeks, 65ish a day average. Besides the changes to the landscape, the biggest might have been the change in language / accents from New Orleans to Canada
I live in the land of 4-wheelers and side by sides. Which one you drive depends on which side of the county you live on. Us po folk drive the 4-wheelers. The 10-12 year olds running around public roads on both are far better drivers than their parents. I’m completely serious. Oh and I heard 2 Baltimore Orioles in today’s video. Looking forward to seeing Jen!
Hey man I don't know where you're at today but in down from Hanover about 15 miles, if you are close I might be able to help out if u need anything. Wife and I have been watching since A.T. trail
@marconcessionssmokehouseng9390 I actually was on 62 between the exit of Clifty and that Dollar General next to the Comfort Inn. I almost tried to stealth in the bushes there except i couldn’t take the traffic noise
You doing this to say you did it? Cause this is a shitty yellow blaze hike. Kudos to you for sticking to it, but damn. You're attitude right now is way better than mine would be. Good vibes your way! Crackerjack.

How did you walk past a large elephant and not even blink an eye 🤣. Did I imagine that?
Oh my gosh, what the heck was that tiny yellow bug with black eyes!, lol
That little bug! He's all, I'ma make myself look big and scary and give that dude some side-eye!
Glad you got the new shoes! Hope you have taters fever!

The Indiana suburbs of Cincinnati are kind of famous for tough prisons & poverty. At least you can go to the casino.

If you start hearing banjo music, run for your life.
And here I just thought everyone was being so friendly commenting on my dental hygiene…
down the river = downstream to the mississippi
What kind of snake was that? Now that I live in TN the locals warn me about rattlers.

What can I say, I like the adventures less traveled
