It doesn't just run well it runs amazing. I played it 3440x1440 at max settings and it still managed to hold 120fps most of the time which feels damn good for a soulslike.

Not just my favorite souls-like, but probably one of my favorite games in general. I was expecting a good game, but I wasn't expecting a damn fantastic game. Can't wait for DLC or a sequel.
Not only that but if Xbox is really looking to make a dent in asia, they should look into making this studio second party or acquire them. The game is very good, even with its shortcomings. But they are looking to build a very ambitious universe.
@@tommyllama4558 It's safe to say that passion played a big part but passion alone obviously isn't enough. So many studios outside Fromsoftware tried to make a true soulslike and most of them failed miserably.
LoP separated itself with it’s mechanics, however, to ask how they came to make this product the answer is obvious. Yes, they clearly love Fromsoft but unlike other studios LoP feels almost like a carbon copy of a Fromsoft game. It’s a hard pill to swallow but it’s the truth. Nothing wrong with it imo but it shouldn’t be a mystery why this game is the way it is.
NEOWIZ actually experienced in heavy story game and also rythm game. So about the story writing and songs are not surprising. They also released mobile game called Brown Dust 2, that for me the best mobile game i ever played, its so good its like playing Octopath Traveler or console strategy game in phone.
This was a perfect game in my opinion. Perfect first level. Perfect first boss. Perfect drip. The perfect ending tease. Oh man that ending tease. I can only imagine.
Blown away how good this game was. No lifed it and beat in the first 3 days it came out. If you said FS made this game I would’ve been completely fooled. Amazing game.
Got the plat in this one over 3 playthroughs. Bought it on PS5 despite having Game Pass just to throw some support to the dev. This is certainly the year of the soulslike with 3 excellent entries in Lies of P, Lords of The Fallen, and Remnant 2 (and Jedi Survivor if you count that but personally I don’t count those as true soulslikes). This really has been one of the most insane years in gaming.
I wish you would have talked about the music and sound desing in the game. I loved the music and sound also I just beat it last night and loved every bit of it. It's now in my top 5 videos games.

A beautiful, excellent game on every level. I did 100% it, which was brutally difficult -- especially Nameless Puppet on NG and NG+. I have a few small critiques, too, but this is a work of art whose beauty got in my soul. I can't believe this is essentially the dev team's first game.
Have gamepass and bought the deluxe edition to support the studio that created this gem! Game is so good! The critics did this game dirty, it deserves much more love and respect than it as been given by most! Not to mention the polish and how well the game ran AT LAUNCH!
I haven’t finished it yet, but so far I have found it to be absolutely amazing. I have one gripe so far: When are we going to say enough is enough with there being no lip sync in these games? Maybe it’s me being OCD, but it drives me absolutely nuts with these types of games.
After the only souls like I’ve ever played being elden ring. This was hella fun to do after, I’ve heard it’s similar to blood borne/sekiro but the game felt great to play. Beat it around 40 hours and beat all bosses except the final “nameless puppet” cause I just wanted to beat it lol.
I watched Max Dood play this entire game, although I'm not totally huge into the Souls games the artistry is something worth admiring. Such gorgeous environments and music to go along with it all.

This *is* a special game. I got it a month late because I had other games to play and didn’t feel inspired to play a ”Bloodborne clone” (weirdly, I’m not a huge Bloodborne fan despite being into soulslikes). But wow, this game is just something else. It’s complete. Absolutely fantastic. And it runs butter smooth. I don’t think I encountered a single glitch. The metacritic score is a joke. Among all the huge releases, this is my GOTY, and that’s saying a lot in 2023. Finished this game today and I’m just all over the internet posting about it because this is just so good! Honestly, I could just buy it again to support the devs.
You nailed it by summing up my feelings about that game. It's also my new top 1 soulslike and it's my new favorite game in overall. Why? If a game manages, that I am thinking about future dlc's and sequels and can't wait for them, thats the signal. My last favorite games were Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. In terms of soulslikes my top three now are 1. Lies of P 2. Asterigos: Curse of the Stars 3. Steelrising Yes, despite playing Fromsoftware games, they aren't even on my top 5.
Can't wait for the day society moves on from Dark Souls comparisons, it happened eventually with 'Doom-clones' and by the time Halo came out nobody had to reference Doom just because its a shooter Lies of P is great on its own, it does a lot of things I've wanted from the Souls series for over a decade at this point, the ending/credits have me really interested in where this series goes from here and god damn is it beautiful.
This game rocks, I just put 60 hours into 2 playthroughs getting all the achievements and loved every second of it. No summon for all the bosses and it made for some of the greatest challenges i've faced in any souls game. Would love to hear a LSM spoiler and review episode if any of the crew finish it.
Adding that I played on steamdeck with pretty much locked 45 FPS (except when you speak to Sophia in the hotel to level up which didn't matter). Incredible how well it ran with no bugs or crashes for a studios first major release.
Wrapping up chapter 6. About 18 hours in. I’m garbage at these games but I still love them! I definitely feel this is the best game I’ve played this year.

Spectres in this game help immensely with those having boss troubles. They mever died in my boss battles, in fact they stole my kills a lot of the time. And consumables are much more useful in fights; shot puts and the throwables can really burn a boss. And I see your trident; my preferred weapon as well as the pipe wrench head. Also I live how dapper you can look in this game, love this game. And it only got an 80? Well I guess thats good but In. thought higher. PS - also cannot believe youncan actually use puppet string (last tier) on bosses, combined with a heavy weapon it's so good to perform.
@kingxerocole4616 it didn't age horribly, but I mean compared to lies of P in 2023 its really not a fair match, these devs got to learn all of froms mistakes from the sidelines while they were still perfecting everything
Maybe it’s better to compare this game to Bloodborne than DS3. The similarities end when the combat in BB is less defensive and DS is far more shield,dodge, and roll. People say you can be aggressive in Bloodborne but I felt it was punishing playing like that.
personally reminded me of Thymesia, a lesser known Souls-like, that also has a focus on parrying over dodging, so it's nice to see someone else take that approach.
As a souls-like fan Lies of P has spoiled me with just the quality of life functions like refilling your "estes" by attacking or making the grinder tool a permanent attachment instead of a consumable even the little icons that show up to show the player that story beats are present in a given area, a masterfully crafted game indeed!!! 👍🏿👍🏿
Ya, I loved BG3, but I think I loved LoP more. I'm already starting a NG+2, and I don't think I EVER want to continue playing a souls/souls like after I beat it. It's REALLY good.

I'm not a souls player, never played DS 1,2 or 3, i did play Bloodborne got confused half way through and quit but I absolutely love Lies of P. I never expected it to have a new spin on Pinocchio, at least thats what i got from it so far. I always loved Pinocchio growing up. I'm barely in the section after the hotel and im already in love, raging(probably from being a newbie to Souls games), confused and im addicted to every minute of this game.

i highly recommend doing a review for ghostrunner 2. it's only 40 bucks and the game that it was a sequel to is one of the best action puzzle games ever.
I completely agree with the story telling part, I love Fromsoftwere worlds and lore but the lore and story I can only get from TH-camrs like Vaati, I don't like how fragmented the story is and I don't like how no matter how hard you search there's only 60-70% confirmed parts while the rest is just speculations I honestly don't like that. I don't mind a hidden story but I want it to all be there or at least 90-95% of it. And that's the part of why I love Lies of P so much the story is not to your face you need to look and there are hidden parts but it's there in the game, I understood the events without a youtuber telling me. I still remember when I first watched Vaati's lore of ds1 and I kid you not I thought he was joking or making parody or just making stuff up because I honestly thought that DS had no story it was just an action RPG with minimal lore.

In my opinion hardest game I’ve ever played including sekiro and I absolutely love it. I’m not a huge fan of horror stuff but lowkey gonna okay bloodborne after this
Yeah this game is awesome…I didn’t love it at first but after I tried it again I fell in love. Well worth the time and money if you don’t have gamepass.
I haven´t played this yet, but all the reviews and what I´ve seen of the game makes me really hyped! And yes, I have seen the teaser in the end (I won´t spoil!); I had to think about what fairy tale it referenced, but when it clicked it made me go "woooooaahhh!" thinking about what this developer could do with it! 😀

Played it on gamepass , Lies of p is a really good game with some frustrating moments , some attacks go from 0 to 100 , the camera in some of the boss fights , you can't see the attacks in the furnace boss fight when the boss does the overhead attack. Other than that i had a great time and it will probably be in my top 5 this year
NEXUS MODS FOR ALL CONSOLES PLEASE! Imagine how exciting mods would be on consoles for Lies of P! To be able to tinker with the code and have fun with it. I have some mod ideas... COOL MOD IDEAS: God mode, one hit kills, infinite magic use, max health from start, max level from start, 999,999 hit points on weapons, no enemies, teleport anywhere, teleport to any boss fight, no boss fights, all stats maxed out at start, all weapons, all armor sets. All cheats via 'cheat menu'. FUN MOD IDEAS: Ability to fly, levitate, no-clip (walk through walls), invisible, Doom mode (first person view with guns!). OMG...Lies of P would be 1000X more fun!!!
Lies of P is great and is on Gamepass. I would probably give it a 9/10. My issues were on rare occasions Pinocchio won't attack shortly after being hit and it seems like you get the best weapons a bit too early which removes the need for much customization Also Laxasia has BS mechanics
2023 has been one of the best years of gaming ever! This game is such a masterpiece. Is it perfect? Of course not. However, games to have to be perfect to achieve greatness. They simply have to engage the player and make you feel a wide array of emotions. No pun intended *side note: that song "Feel" is such a great, great song that i listen to it in the car*. I feel like the lies ive told, held me back from getting certain items and records, so on new game plus, ill be trying to follow a guide to get 100%.

I didn't have to change my build ever once I found it. Police Baton handle and Giant Wrench, R2ed my way through every boss no summons.

PS - also cannot believe youncan actually use puppet string (last tier) on bosses, combined with a heavy weapon it's so good to perform.
The atmosphere for this game is second to none. Had low expectations going in. Can't wait to see what is next from this team

So good, I played this then DS3 and honestly DS3 mostly felt like a letdown after how intense some of the Lies of P combat was.
DS3 didn't age as well, unfortunately.
@kingxerocole4616 it didn't age horribly, but I mean compared to lies of P in 2023 its really not a fair match, these devs got to learn all of froms mistakes from the sidelines while they were still perfecting everything
Maybe it’s better to compare this game to Bloodborne than DS3. The similarities end when the combat in BB is less defensive and DS is far more shield,dodge, and roll. People say you can be aggressive in Bloodborne but I felt it was punishing playing like that.
personally reminded me of Thymesia, a lesser known Souls-like, that also has a focus on parrying over dodging, so it's nice to see someone else take that approach.

As a souls-like fan Lies of P has spoiled me with just the quality of life functions like refilling your "estes" by attacking or making the grinder tool a permanent attachment instead of a consumable even the little icons that show up to show the player that story beats are present in a given area, a masterfully crafted game indeed!!! 👍🏿👍🏿
Ya, I loved BG3, but I think I loved LoP more. I'm already starting a NG+2, and I don't think I EVER want to continue playing a souls/souls like after I beat it. It's REALLY good.
Ha, I played it via Gamepass then bought it because I loved it so much and wanted to support the dev. I'm still playing it, even after beating the heck out of it.

I'm not a souls player, never played DS 1,2 or 3, i did play Bloodborne got confused half way through and quit but I absolutely love Lies of P. I never expected it to have a new spin on Pinocchio, at least thats what i got from it so far. I always loved Pinocchio growing up. I'm barely in the section after the hotel and im already in love, raging(probably from being a newbie to Souls games), confused and im addicted to every minute of this game.

i highly recommend doing a review for ghostrunner 2. it's only 40 bucks and the game that it was a sequel to is one of the best action puzzle games ever.
The fact that i was able to play it on my original xbox one and still had a blast speaks volumes, my GOTY
I completely agree with the story telling part, I love Fromsoftwere worlds and lore but the lore and story I can only get from TH-camrs like Vaati, I don't like how fragmented the story is and I don't like how no matter how hard you search there's only 60-70% confirmed parts while the rest is just speculations I honestly don't like that. I don't mind a hidden story but I want it to all be there or at least 90-95% of it. And that's the part of why I love Lies of P so much the story is not to your face you need to look and there are hidden parts but it's there in the game, I understood the events without a youtuber telling me. I still remember when I first watched Vaati's lore of ds1 and I kid you not I thought he was joking or making parody or just making stuff up because I honestly thought that DS had no story it was just an action RPG with minimal lore.
Lmaoo he said 25 hours nah I’m 48 hours in💀 at the swamp monster area to be fair I’m doing no summons. That being said this game is epic. In my opinion hardest game I’ve ever played including sekiro and I absolutely love it. I’m not a huge fan of horror stuff but lowkey gonna okay bloodborne after this
Yeah this game is awesome…I didn’t love it at first but after I tried it again I fell in love. Well worth the time and money if you don’t have gamepass.
I haven´t played this yet, but all the reviews and what I´ve seen of the game makes me really hyped! And yes, I have seen the teaser in the end (I won´t spoil!); I had to think about what fairy tale it referenced, but when it clicked it made me go "woooooaahhh!" thinking about what this developer could do with it! 😀

2023 has been great for game pass in first party and third. Third party has Wo Long, Atomic Heart, Lies of P, and Dead Space remake.
After playing and completing LOTF i appreciate Lies of P so much more!
Glad to hear this game lives up to its intent. I'm definitely going to pick it up, mainly because this is the closest thing to a Bloodborne port to PC that we're ever going to get :)
Played it on gamepass , Lies of p is a really good game with some frustrating moments , some attacks go from 0 to 100 , the camera in some of the boss fights ,
you can't see the attacks in the furnace boss fight when the boss does the overhead attack.
Other than that i had a great time and it will probably be in my top 5 this year
Going back to this after my cyberpunk playthrough.

Imagine how exciting mods would be on consoles for Lies of P! To be able to tinker with the code and have fun with it. I have some mod ideas...
COOL MOD IDEAS:
God mode, one hit kills, infinite magic use, max health from start, max level from start, 999,999 hit points on weapons, no enemies, teleport anywhere, teleport to any boss fight, no boss fights, all stats maxed out at start, all weapons, all armor sets. All cheats via 'cheat menu'.
FUN MOD IDEAS:
Ability to fly, levitate, no-clip (walk through walls), invisible, Doom mode (first person view with guns!).
OMG...Lies of P would be 1000X more fun!!!

I've finished it 3 times now, obviously I really like it, great game that scratched my Bloodborne/Sekiro itch
Lies of P is great and is on Gamepass. I would probably give it a 9/10.
My issues were on rare occasions Pinocchio won't attack shortly after being hit and it seems like you get the best weapons a bit too early which removes the need for much customization
Also Laxasia has BS mechanics
2023 has been one of the best years of gaming ever! This game is such a masterpiece. Is it perfect? Of course not. However, games to have to be perfect to achieve greatness. They simply have to engage the player and make you feel a wide array of emotions. No pun intended *side note: that song "Feel" is such a great, great song that i listen to it in the car*. I feel like the lies ive told, held me back from getting certain items and records, so on new game plus, ill be trying to follow a guide to get 100%.
I haven't been this infatuated with a game since the release of Bloodborne. Best game in many a year!

Wow, so many people are saying how awesome this game is... I guess I will have to pick it up now. I was going to get Lords of the Fallen but I think im going to change my mind and get Lies of P. Hope its worth it.
