Great game covered with bugs and performance issues. Still there is a great game under all that, if they fix bugs/performance in 1 years its a golden game. I would love an option to refight bosses - Like Sekiro has. This game is a Sekiro like game mostly, but easier. Lightsaber combat is the coolest, platforming is cool, remind me of prince of Persia, what i hate is killing bushes for seeds, exploring toon much for some cosmetics etc, they should remove like 50% of the exploring, or if i explore let me explore/platform to the top of a mountain and get a cool side boss battle that takes like 10 minutes and its epic. Every exploration or platforming should end with some combat, we play these for the lightsaber fights lets be real.
Finally someone actually giving a good review, most people lose their crap over performance issues and they look past everything else. The story is great, I aint gonna go into detail cuz spoilers and the combat is AMAZING! The combat is just expanded on and improved every single way. Like I understand but I never had any issues besides like 2 bugs and one crash. Also I am on pc so idk why ppl r bugging.

Never change man, you and Cogs genuine love for games and what you do is why I listen to DD and I've never owned an Xbox. I do have pc game pass, but the listen is a very serious compliment
I find the thumbnail of this video really misleading considering all the major performance issues that have been so widely noted. A perfect game with major performance issues ceases to be a perfect game.
It's a framrate disaster. It has dialog issues. The list is long. Day one patch is out. They have weeks, not days, but weeks of patches are coming. The game could be great if they fixed it. Like Reddall, it was not ready for release. Which is the norm these days with games.
I just played Fallen Order and went straight on to Survivor and I'm having an absolute blast. The combat, the platforming, the exploration, the story, it's all so much fun. I've been exploring as I go, the game map isn't great but it does tell you what areas you can't access yet and which unexplored areas are now open to you.
I can't tell you how happy I am to hear the the story is outstanding!! From everything I've seen so far I have been very confident that the gameplay would be amazing, but i honestly care the most about the story. I love Fallen Order largely for the story, so I am so relieved to hear that you loved the story! I cannot wait to jump into this world and experience Cal's story once again!!
Excellent review Matty! (Love the KOTOR music btw) I really enjoyed Fallen Order, but the platforming was my least favorite, sounds like they turned it up to 11 in this game haha. I'm definitely going to check this out, but I might wait for some performance patches first. Besides, I'm in the middle of a Cyberpunk playthrough. I'm really happy to see the return of high-quality single- player Star Wars games!
YES YES YES. Finally played Jedi Fallen Order recently and loved it but had some minor nags with the combat. SO hyped to hear this is delivering that but on a whole new level.
"There are ziplines across giant chasms..." Have you _seen_ the Star Wars films? The Empire sure does love its giant pits and chasms, and apparently has never heard of railings. There's nothing more quintessentially Star Wars than bewildering level design!
The main thing I love is that it's actually a challenge. U need to think hard about how to approach the vast array of enemy types and which moves to use. U need to strategically use ur stims and force . And maps are a challenge to navigate. U get a sense of accomplishment when u defeat enemies and find new areas of a map
Ah one of my favourite reviewers gets a game early, good on ya Matty (i can't wait for this game, the first one was the one Soulslike i got into, it's not usually my game or genre but Jedi Fallen Order clicked with me and i LOVED it) Yet another game for the ever growing list of games i need to buy, thanks for the review Matty :)
I've been waiting for this and your review. I've had the deluxe on pre-purchase since it became available. Thanks alot Matt, really appreciate this one
“Jedi Survivor took everything in fallen order and found a way to improve it!” “Sweet! So the map is easier to read right?” “…” “…they made the map easier to read right?”😂😂😭
@@evanbelisle8464 respectfully disagree, at least for me it was the main reason I never spent the time to get the platinum, the 3D interface was not jiving with the navigational part of my brain. Had the same issue with Ragnarok to a certain extent but Jedi’s color palatine exasperated it
Getting kind of bored of being given shitty ports when the PC platform is the biggest it's ever been, it's mind numbing to me that publisher's are still skimping out on putting in the time, effort and money to get these games across the finish line properly.
Yes Matty, preach! Ive been saying this! Star Wars Jedi Survivor is one of the best Star Wars games we've ever gotten. The story gave me "the old republic" vibes sometimes. Absolutely amazing. Cal is in my Top 5 for favorite Star Wars characters, canon and non canon. Also little treat. Change FOV to Narrowest with HUD off. Looks like a Santa Monica Studio's game. Very fun way to play.
The reviews from people who didnt sell their souls to corporations : Spawn Wave - game runs like crap. Even he said it. Mutahar - game runs like crap. Steam reviews - Mostly negative. Born2Game - game runs like crap. MrSelloutPlays - game is perfect.
Can't even get to the main menu without it crashing and I've got a pretty high end PC, it keeps crashing at the Jedi Survivor logo. Couple that with the abundance of complaints on Steam about a poor PC port and I'm gonna have to say tyo anyone reading my comment DO NOT BUY IT YET
Who knew we would have this type of a Gem in Star Wars again. So many failures on the opposite end of Star Wars. I’m glad it stays true and genuine with the story, characters and mood. Truly hits all the Star Wars beats with love and it shows. I am extremely excited to see what’s next for Cal. The Dark Side looms ever closer to Cals greatest quest yet. Star Wars golden age finally maybe?!
Please watch Skill Up & ACG’s reviews..this game is seriously broken, no offense to Matty his experience is his experience but I wish it wasn’t busted…
What reviews don't tell you so far is that you can only play the beginning, and the rest of the game is locked behind a download wall, which is bad for people who don't have internet like me.
I love this souls-like approach. However, Star Wars deserves a Witcher-like experience where you can go to different planets, hunt bounties and do missions in procedural Open World. Such a waste to not work with multiple studios for multiple SW games.
Genuinely worried about the performance. JFO was a solid game, but playing it on a beefy PC was/ still is a nightmare. The framerate dumps in certain areas messing up that Star Wars magic. Definitely buying on PS5 this go around.

I always look forward to your review of a game I'm looking forward to. I know that your reviews are always fair and honest and as a result, I trust them. Sometimes, even when review is glowing, as this one is, you mention a number of things/features that I typically dislike and I'm always very thankful for that as it allows me to go in with more reasonable expectations. This is the first review that I've seen that has given me pause on the game. I don't particularly like platforming and I really dislike puzzles. Couple those with a frustrating navigation system and I'm giving real thought to waiting for it to go on sale. I thank you for that Matty. Your plain speaking honesty is very much appreciated.
So glad this game came out so amazing. I was worried we'd have another The Force Unleashed 2, but I was dead wrong. Respawn, you outdid yourselves again, huge credit. EA, you deserve a tiny bit of credit for what you've done for SW games the last four years.
Best review I’ve heard thus far. Feel your love for this game and Star Wars in general coming through this video. Great to see that Respawn gets what we love about Star Wars. After disappointing Mando season, maybe they should be given a show. So psyched to play this, sounds like everything I wanted them to expand upon in first game

Now I’m sad that I fished it because it’s was an incredible experience for me. I live for these games
Great spoiler free review Matty, thank you for such a complete and fair review. Can't wait to play...
Best Star Wars game ever
Matty you really need to start mentioning the games performance in your reviews.
Hopefully there's more Jedi vs Jedi (lightsaber vs lightsaber) fights than Fallen Order.
Awesome review. Gives me just enough hype and info without spoiling anything!
I could feel your enthusiasm for this game through the screen. Great review Matty
I love how this game actually makes troopers dangerous
I’ll probably get it this summer when it’s on sale. Gotta save cash right now.
Rip
My plans to get EA premium for a month and smash this and dead space off in 1 month
Get a job.
YES YES YES. Finally played Jedi Fallen Order recently and loved it but had some minor nags with the combat. SO hyped to hear this is delivering that but on a whole new level.
"There are ziplines across giant chasms..."
Have you _seen_ the Star Wars films? The Empire sure does love its giant pits and chasms, and apparently has never heard of railings. There's nothing more quintessentially Star Wars than bewildering level design!
The main thing I love is that it's actually a challenge. U need to think hard about how to approach the vast array of enemy types and which moves to use. U need to strategically use ur stims and force . And maps are a challenge to navigate. U get a sense of accomplishment when u defeat enemies and find new areas of a map
the first game is one of my favorites now. it's the perfect mix of uncharted and a souls like
Apex legends, Titanfall, star wars are all amazing under respawn.
Respawn devs are awesome.
Mattys the type of guy who eats avocado toast in the morning while listening to Beatle vinyls drinking a turmeric latte
Tumeric latte sounds goodb
Ah one of my favourite reviewers gets a game early, good on ya Matty (i can't wait for this game, the first one was the one Soulslike i got into, it's not usually my game or genre but Jedi Fallen Order clicked with me and i LOVED it) Yet another game for the ever growing list of games i need to buy, thanks for the review Matty :)
Glad this game is good, never expected the day EA does something good
Why do you look so sad in the thumbnail here is a hug 🤗
hmm. now that everyone's reviews are out, this is looking a bit odd.
Right!?
I've been waiting for this and your review. I've had the deluxe on pre-purchase since it became available.
Thanks alot Matt, really appreciate this one
Getting to where I don’t trust Matty’s opinion on Star Wars
First! Good news folks--it's a banger!
Day one performance on ps5 is piss poor, not a good launch at all.
Imagine owning a PC with a 4090 and getting bad peformance... it's awful for every platform
I’ve seen a lot of complaints about the FPS and stuff, but from what I have seen it’s completely fine. So far I’m enjoying it😂
What platform? I'm waiting as I want a flawless experience or as close as possible as I loved the first and can't wait for this
Having to constantly open the map in the original was definitely annoying to me. Trying to go for 100% completion on a planet like Zeffo? Nightmare
I just want to shout out Matty plays for all the KOTOR music in the background. You're a real one sir.
“Jedi Survivor took everything in fallen order and found a way to improve it!”
“Sweet! So the map is easier to read right?”
“…”
“…they made the map easier to read right?”😂😂😭
🌞
The first games map wasn’t difficult to read.
@@evanbelisle8464 respectfully disagree, at least for me it was the main reason I never spent the time to get the platinum, the 3D interface was not jiving with the navigational part of my brain. Had the same issue with Ragnarok to a certain extent but Jedi’s color palatine exasperated it
I appreciate you highlighting the negatives in the game
Hope we get live action Cal at some point.
It would make perfect sense, since Cal is identical to his actor
Not every game needs a fucking live action adaptation. Fucking hell you people.
Like your channel a lot dude. Love the theme and attitude towards content we love
“Perfect” Matty wants to make sure he’s in good standing with EA I see ✌️
The reviews from people who didnt sell their souls to corporations : Spawn Wave - game runs like crap.
Perfect 30fps on the 4090
YES, THANK THE DEVS, They could've not make you any game.
Every jedi wants to swing his light saber around from time to time , nam sayin
Genuinely worried about the performance. JFO was a solid game, but playing it on a beefy PC was/ still is a nightmare. The framerate dumps in certain areas messing up that Star Wars magic. Definitely buying on PS5 this go around.
Fextralife played it on Series X and said performance was immaculate after the patch on the 25th 👀
Yay, very excited to play tomorrow!
I didn’t know you had another channel! I’ve only seen Retro Rebound but i’m glad this showed up in my recommended. I love those videos and I can’t wait to get more content
Loving the KOTOR 2 background music!!
My man has the word "Perfect" in hos description. He must have loved the hell out of this.
It´s end of April and we already got several absolute bangers. And now this. I feel really good about gaming in 2023.
not on the fucking pc, I AM THIS close to just quit gaming
The PC version seems to be absolute dogshit so I'll be waiting for fixes and a steep discount.
I've been looking forward to this - Darth Tyrannus.
One could even say, near perfect? 😏 haha looking forward to it!!
Love to hear all the praise!! Keep up the great content Matty!
You too can equip Cal Kestis with a Mr Matty hair and beard...
Your review completely contradicted everybody’s day one release review, saying the game is released in a horrible state but if you say it’s good, that’s good I have to check it out
If you can look past peformance apparently it's great.
@@malazan6004 i bought it for the ps5
@@LiveForToday706 I loved the first but still havent bought the second
The Dual-Weapon type is a dope as hell 😄
