Scotty Kilmer .... I can change my oil and filter, and on a good day, figure out where the cabin filter is. This guy, is talking all kinds of technical mumbo-jumbo to me.
@@Sitchinte It is human to think, because only humans can. What do you think advances the human condition, thinking or not thinking? Never make a decision to stop learning things,---or else. :)
Drive train power loss varies, but is about a 10% loss. But 465 plus at the flywheel on a V6,---nice. There is no way to accurately measure drive train power loss unless you dyno both at the wheels and the crank. But you know that. You're in the ball park, but on the high side IMO. Nice car.
Nice video. It is good to see that there are people putting love in these v6 like myself. I have a '11 modified v6 as a daily driver as well. With a smaller engine in a big engine bay, the car is a joy to work on. These v6 are very reliable. Mine's got over 220k miles and it is still running strong.
In 2011 was the first year Ford released a mustang with a new v6 engine 24 valves & duel overhead camshafts. Horsepower: 305 hp MPG: Up to 19 city / 31 highway Curb weight: 3,401lbs Engine: 3.7 L V6,
Ill be honest I’m not mechanically inclined to do any of that stuff myself so I would’ve got the GT only for that reason. But I really like your car and all the mods you did. Nice Job.
This might be the first V6 Mustang that I was really interested in. I love anything with an engine that I can drive really, but there are some that peak my interest more than others. I really like the story and how the owner made it exactly how he wanted it. It was different and unique. I like it.

I have a stick shift 2011 performance pack premium v6 that still runs like a dream. Seriously considering supercharging it. Such a great looking car, extra 150 horses would be all the fun of a new car.
Great car! I love how you took a typical Mustang and made it unique instead of going the same route everyone else does with a V8 and the after market exhaust upgrades. Reminds me of the Grand Nationals back in the day.
In fact I'd argue it partly depends on how well the paint was put on in the first place. Some cars are notorious for having paint issues, while others, not so much.
Great car! I love the blue with that saddle interior. Never thought the brown looked good in cars, but this looks so good. Never even looked like it has over 100k miles on it. Someday I'd love a mustang. Always loved the foxbody ones from the early 90's late 80's. But I also love this 2012. Great choice! Thanks for posting.
Today i was at a car show, and i saw this blue mustang. He said it was a supercharged v6 mustang that he got for his 60th birthday, turns out, ITS THIS GUY. i couldnt believe it, this random guy on scotty kilmers video lives right near me and was at a car show. I got to see this car up close and personal and man, is it impressive
I just purchased a 2013 Gotta Have it Green V6. Apparently if you look up the production numbers, 1,186 GHiG v6 automatic coupes were created in 2013, so it's one of the 'rarer' ones. I'm planning on doing a bit of work to it starting with the air intake. I'm not going full bore with the pro charger (It's a $6,000+ addon) but strut brace, air intake, new driveshaft and 3.73 gears with a Bama tuner to re-tune the engine after the mods will do nicely... get a new wheel and tire package and I'll be done... stock the thing is damn good anyways, but tinkering is half the fun lol.
Nicely executed modifications to the Beast, Jeff, and expert video. Especially love the old-school gear shift. Interior is striking. P.S. I've had an orange-stripe "cue ball" gear shift grip on my Toyota for years, loads of fun. Again, just beautiful job.
I bet the best performance upgrade was the 485 hp sticker. That had to add 105 horsepower. Just kidding. Nice to the owner, I don't blame him, V8's are too mainstream and those who think we're not allowed to have options in our mustangs are probably sleeping with their sisters or brothers. We should be allowed to have our cars anyway we want them.
Yeshua Man Buying a V6 or 4 banger mustang is like buying a 4 banger large truck. Its just not going to do its job right. You buy a Mustang for power, not looks. Lets face it, its still a Ford at the end of the day. It just doesnt make any sense.
I disagree, I wanted a mustang for the looks, not power. If I wanted the power then I would go to the V8. But not everybody wants a powerful mustang. That's why we should have options. And as far as trucks you mentioned, I'd rather have an inline 5 than a v8, I don't plan on doing any towing, just hauling a few things and as long as it can keep up with the speed limits, that's all I need. I'd have more fun driving a slow car fast than a fast car slow. My mom has a 400 hp Camaro and it's a waste. By the time I get into 2nd gear after a few seconds, I'm already speeding. If you take it to the track, that's another thing.
There's nothing wrong with having options, but I do think the reason they didn't buy the V8 doesn't make any sense (for me at least). For you a V6 makes sense because you're not buying it for power, but they did want power and bought a V6 and then spent likely more than it would have cost to buy the V8 just to get the V6 up to the V8 power range. Buying a V8 for them would have likely saved them money, maintained any warranty the car had, and would have given the car better resale value.
Yeshua Man Haha. My civic coupe is for looking good and going the speed limit while getting great mpg. My CL600 was for looking sexy and doing 0-60 in 5 seconds while getting 3mpg at best under a heavy foot. No sense in putting my civics 4 banger in my CL600. That would be stupid. My opinion though. I guess Ford decided there was a market for slow stangs decades ago.
Insane with technology today. I have a boosted 351w V8, and at around 8psi of boost, im at around 465whp...crazy how this little v6 pumps out more power, with less boost. I do doubt hes making 500ftlbs of torque like my motor is though lol
Nice car Jeff! I would like to point out that that's not a cold-air intake. It's getting air from the engine bay, not from the grill area or the fenders.
I have a P1X Procharger on my full bolt on 3.7 Mustang. Made an easy 460whp/367tq at the wheels (530hp/445tq) crank horsepower with 91 octane. Everyone expects a V8 to be fast but not a V6. I like being the underdog.

What was suppose to change my mind the fact that if you stick $10,000 in a V6 car you can make more power? Still would rather spend the extra money on 2 more cylinders and have a nice sounding car, I mean after all mustangs are suppose to be muscle cars.
Johnny J my man, mustangs have never been muscle cars, the mustang made the pony class, its a sporty car but it was never a muscle car, same thing for cameros, their both pony cars, its cause their base model has a v6 automatic, this created the pony class back in the mid 60's
My name is Jeff, and a '73 Maverick would sound better with something on the exhaust pipe that makes the owner think they have something big in their pants...like a fat mother in law with sharp teeth.
Not really an issue when compressing the air through a turbocharger, Most are build for isothermal compression. Meaning it will strip the air of heat while compressing it.
Too many jeff's in the kitchen. my once owned '66 Chevelle Malibu or current '69 Chevelle Malibu unmodified or 71-76 Plymouth Duster will make a Mustang out to be Tinker Toys. Get out the Model A, there's a Mustang that wants to race. By the way, I love my Ford Edge.
I agree there’s less than a thousand in the country. I ran into a guy with a v6 mustang. Engine programming. Injectors. Gearing. Full bolt one. 6k brake kit. And I know not many people do that much to their v6.
485 HP rated with 415 at the rear wheels, and only breaking 13's in the quarter mile? Something not adding up Scotty. It should be at least in the 12's.
this is literally the same mod i have on my G37, but mine is 8 psi with stock pulley and i make about 500hp i smoke v8's all day long, but i will admit those v8's sound way better than my car when they are losing lool.
with 500 whp you better be smoking just about anything. considering most v8s make anywhere from 380 to 470 whp stock. you can boost just about anything and make alot of power if the engine allows it.
"people don't waste their time on V8 mustangs lol Just think how much power you would be making if you put that much time and money into a gt500 lol"
"people don't waste their time on gt500s lol Just think how much power you would be making if you put that much time and money into a zr1 vette lol" "people don't waste their time on zr1 vettes lol Just think how much power you would be making if you put that much time and money into a ACR Viper lol" "people don't waste their time on ACR Vipers lol Just think how much power you would be making if you put that much time and money into a Veyron lol"
My thoughts exactly. People are never satisfied. I've owned two different V6 Mustangs, and I'm planning on buying a third once I find a nice one in my budget.
I love this guy. I personally don't like V8 motors much (Sue me) and consequently am not much a fan of the mustang in general but this guy's mustang sounds AMAZING and makes tons of power i love it
lol EVERYONE gets the v6 in all 3 of the "muscle" cars of today cuz they want that look of a muscle car but with a cheaper car and motor, they dont give a damn about how much of an abomination it is to not get a v8 in a mustang, so this guy got it ass backwards in the video, everyone gets the v6, not the v8
Ashish Patel it has a 6 because that Ecoboost was a proven power plant...and they could achieve what they wanted out of it. Which was more topspeed based than handling based. The amount of cylinders doesn't always equal a heavier engine. And if you told me to build a race car...I'm more than likely going to go with an 8 cylinder
C Rush most gt cars are v8s, dtm cars are v8s, stock cars are V8, and drag cars are almost always v8s. Indy car and f1 combined don't have as many series to compare to Nascar even, much less the drag racing or gt racing.
Yep, and the only cars faster than Indy car and F1 are drag cars. The rest of them "V8's" would get smoked. Also the greatest spectacle in racing is the INDY 500 so your point in meaningless.
Nice car and video, but the cold air intake is sucking in hot air from the engine compartment. You need to isolate the air filter from the engine heat, maybe install the factory air box with a K&N filter and see how it performs. You can use a OBDII scan tool to read the intake air temp to see the difference between sucking in engine heat and not sucking engine heat into the intake.
Man if you would've got a 5.0 you could have about the same power and performance with a stock motor. Plus that sound, when you revved it at the beginning. Lmfao I'm sorry but the 5.0 sounds like a beast compared to that six you got. I'd rather have that amazing sound then a more powerful 6 cylinder lol. Just saying. Also my stock 2012 can run under 13 in a quarter with no upgrades to the engine at all, so all that money you spent on that 6 just to be equal to a stock 2012 5.0
How do uk he drives at full throttle..its a daily driver and he takes care of it why would he. Not everyone likes to destroy their car. Even sports car cant handle full throttle. Its all a bunch of bull. U have to do extreme maintenance if you want to.
This is the 1st guy I've ever seen quote the crank horsepower despite having measured the wheel hp, just so he can impress with a larger number. Kudos.
GI D crank hp s what every manufacturer goes by when they release specs for a vehicle so why would it be weird of what if he has 485HP painted on his supercharger. whp only matters to you at the track not on public roads.
No. Crank HP is what you have to settle for if you don't know the wheel HP. Track or public roads, it's wheel HP that matters. At least on this planet.
when you see a blacked out explorer with sirens in the rear mirror ;it won't matter how fast your car goes in a straight away... it won't matter how much power you put to wheels on public roads cause you won't reach past 3rd gear in city driving conditions.
John Jackson I haven't forgotten about buick GN. One of buddies have one in its original condition. I'm just not a fan of V6 engines. I like 4 cylinders and 8V's

I've never understood why they call it a "cold air filter" when it sits in the engine compartment.
Technically, the ones in the engine bay are called ram airs.
The air that goes into it is colder than the air that goes through a normal intake, which means more air can be taken in

I owned a '12 v6. Such a great car! 80 mph and got 31 mph and hit 60 in 5.4 seconds.
Very cool Mustang!
That is one nice Mustang from someone who usually doesn't care about those cars. Love the leather color.
That intake is close to the engine how you figure it's cold air intake 🤔
When at a standstill maybe.
@@UnTamedMustang that would make it even hotter if your not moving.
Kudos for actually driving it and enjoying it.
My name is Jeff 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Shattered Dreams, thanks for the confirmation with stats.
He just needs slicks
John Smith He’s probably just being conservative with his time because it should move better then that.
He is most likely on street tires at the track. Slicks would improve his time by a whole second at least
John Smith He literally said it runs “well below 13s” in the video.
That's a beautiful car. Love the old school shifter. Love the supercharger
this is literally the same mod i have on my G37, but mine is 8 psi with stock pulley and i make about 500hp
i smoke v8's all day long, but i will admit those v8's sound way better than my car when they are losing lool.
+1 to someone finally not owning a shitpiece G35.
with 500 whp you better be smoking just about anything. considering most v8s make anywhere from 380 to 470 whp stock. you can boost just about anything and make alot of power if the engine allows it.
Lol, sweet setup bro. However, you know that same blower on v8's turns them into monsters.
Russ A Id still rather have a stock 5.0 then some gay g37 or any 370z bs car...
Wish I had that kind of car mechanic skill.
"people don't waste their time on V8 mustangs lol Just think how much power you would be making if you put that much time and money into a gt500 lol"
"people don't waste their time on gt500s lol Just think how much power you would be making if you put that much time and money into a zr1 vette lol"
"people don't waste their time on zr1 vettes lol Just think how much power you would be making if you put that much time and money into a ACR Viper lol"
"people don't waste their time on ACR Vipers lol Just think how much power you would be making if you put that much time and money into a Veyron lol"
My thoughts exactly. People are never satisfied. I've owned two different V6 Mustangs, and I'm planning on buying a third once I find a nice one in my budget.
Lol, well said!
I love this guy. I personally don't like V8 motors much (Sue me) and consequently am not much a fan of the mustang in general but this guy's mustang sounds AMAZING and makes tons of power i love it
Now imagine those mods on the 4,9, I mean 5.0 coyote, not sure why you would start out with a v6, if you can afford the eight...
lol EVERYONE gets the v6 in all 3 of the "muscle" cars of today cuz they want that look of a muscle car but with a cheaper car and motor, they dont give a damn about how much of an abomination it is to not get a v8 in a mustang, so this guy got it ass backwards in the video, everyone gets the v6, not the v8
Cause they want and can afford the car now, and can modify it later if they want. It's part of the fun.
He literally explained in the video why he wanted the v6
lol at the shop i work at there are 8 customers with mustangs, only 1 has a v8 and its a 22 year old kid.
Lol if i wanted a mustang it would have to be v8 or in not getting one
That Mustang is beautiful, and unique! I want it!. Well done!
Its all about being (SLEEPER)
Wow, I love that Pin Stripe Art on the hood. Wow
I wanted something unique, so I got a v6 Mustang. Think you need to look up unique.
You're missing the point, a tastfully modded 485hp V6 Mustang. How is that not unique?
@@dakotanewcombe7843 it's not unique in the sense of it's still a factory option engine. It's not like he 2j swapped it
The car is amazing and the story behind it even more!
Turned v6 are better than v8. Especially when it comes to handling. There's a reason why the new Ford gt has a v6
Ashish Patel then why are most race cars(including German cars) built with v8s?
Um most race cars are not V8s. Indy Car and Formula 1 racing use V6s
Rather have a Chevy
Lol no especially the
2019
Cause you need something to hold down the tow trailer?
I also have a 2012 Mustang with only 39K miles, looking forward to adding a few mods. Great job!
V8 would run cooler as well
I guess he was trying to be differant.
Awesome car! Scottie loves foreign cars too much.
400+ hp but still has stock wheels and tires. Okay buddy.
Khargan I’m just saying that he could get some better tires.
It is his car and I don't think he cares what you think about it. The wheels look good to me and the Continental tires are excellent.
How do uk he drives at full throttle..its a daily driver and he takes care of it why would he. Not everyone likes to destroy their car. Even sports car cant handle full throttle. Its all a bunch of bull. U have to do extreme maintenance if you want to.
Paul Smallriver If he can’t handle comments about his car, then maybe he shouldn’t have posted a video of it on the internet.
VanSaucy yah cuz he has to receive criticism for no reason when he posts a video right
This is the 1st guy I've ever seen quote the crank horsepower despite having measured the wheel hp, just so he can impress with a larger number.
This vide/topic is about car performance, not cops or traffic laws.
No thank you
I appreciate that its your daily driver. Too many cars I see tuned up that sit and collect dust when they are ment to be driven.
You thinking of a v8 mustang scott? V6 only has 201 hp
Rob Spagrenetti its obviously modified dude
Rob Spagrenetti the curent v6 mustangs 2010+ make 300hp with the 3.7 v6 they were using and 2015+ has ecoboost
Darn it, did you Google?
Will M. i keep up to all cars especially after redesigns
Rob Spagrenetti watch the video next time you throw shade
Nice ride so nice
Don't like v6's 😲
Brian Samuels I like the six have you forgotten about the Buick grand national
John Jackson I haven't forgotten about buick GN. One of buddies have one in its original condition. I'm just not a fan of V6 engines. I like 4 cylinders and 8V's
Carl Ryan 😂😂😂 yeah right!
Brian Samuels Cool story. Glad that’s cleared up...
Car of the Year Scotty 🐎
Ew a Ford.
silverbird58 typical ford fanboys
and you clicked on the video... you must be really smart.
IMPULSOESTATICO clicked on it to leave this comment
That has to be one of the cleanest cool builds . 👍. Really nice car.
I like the car and the owner. As long as he’s happy thats all that counts 🙂 the front end is lighter so it’ll handle better!
