I’ve had this issue with my son’s 2019 Nissan Altima. I called the dealership and they wanted to charge me $220 just to look at the issue. They said anything over that cost they would apply the $220 towards the cost. So I was figuring for the dealership to fix the issue they were already saying it will cost over $220. Figured I’ll give TH-cam a try first to see if I can fix the problem. Came across this video and followed the steps. $15.00 dollars later (cost for the cleaner) and radio volume works perfect!!!!! Thank you for this video!!!!! Saved me a lot of money!
Just tried this with my 2019 Altima. The dealer said it couldn’t be fixed. A couple of short sprays with WD-40 Electronics Cleaner (NOT the lubricant) and it’s working like new!! Thanks so much for this video! 👍
This issue is a common problem with Nissan products. I have an Altima, a Sentra and both volum knobs are acting just like this....Thank you for showing us this fix,...Now I can alos fix my issues. Great Video. Thanks
Guys follow what he says to the letter, because he knows what he is talking about. This fix worked for my 2020 Nissan Pathfinder. Before I happed upon this blogger I had called my dealer for help in fixing my fluctuating radio knob only for them to tell me to bring it in for a diagnosis and that would cost $175.00. Any other work would be additional. I thank you very much Menjicar you saved me a lot of time, money and aggravation. The only thing I did a little different was to use WD 40 , But I let it dry completely before turning on the radio.
This worked on my 2019 Nissan Altima! I've had this issue for two years and this fixed it in five minutes. Follow his advise and blow out any excess mass air flow cleaner fluid after cleaning.
i was a hater at first and thought it didn’t work for me, after the third time, i decided to drench the thing like he did and it worked perfectly after! saying im impressed is an understatement
I tried out this fix on my 2019 nissan kicks today and it fixed my volume knob!! I've been dealing with this issue for over two years now and this fixed it like boom! Thanks so much!!!!
Worked very well thank you Usually i replace the radio or solder a new potentiometer I now have a 2021 versa 40k miles. I see we have the same radio. Must be a common issue Thank you much for the easy cheap and quick fix idea
This worked great! I wish I’d searched for a solution a couple years ago but better late than never 😅 Thanks for sharing this. Saved my money and my ears
Mine is even crazier. The radio will be off and suddenly it comes on SUPER LOUDLY when it wasn't set that way to begin with. The knob has been 'off' in the way you describe since I bought the vehicle. For $7 I'm sure ready to try your fix and appreciate it. I'll post thumbs up if it works. Thanks!
Holy shit it actually worked like a champ just a couple minutes after spraying it and playing with the knob. Here’s to hoping it stays that way. Thanks!
This totally worked, I have been dealing with this problem for years, I even heard to take it to the dealer to download a new program. WOW, easy fix for a big annoying problem
I did it today, and it fixed my problem after 4 years. Last week, the Nissan dealership wanted to do a diagnostic test, which cost almost $200. I let them know there should be a firmware update. They just want money.
The knob just needs to be cleaned. The way to clean it is to turn it for one full minute clockwise then turn it for one full minute counterclockwise, and do about five repetitions of that and lo and behold the knob will be fine.
My nigga!!! LMAO haha.... this shit actually worked. This button issue was annoying AF. I can't believe it was this easy to fix. I used the mass air flo cleaner that i had at my house. Thanks
I had this problem brought it to a Nissan dealership and after their ‘experts’ looked at it they said they had to replace the whole radio ($1600). Saw this vid spent $11 at Walmart
There is a tsb for the fix and the first step is to exercise the knobs (second a software update . I don't do that). I always put a rubber valve stem into a drill and use it to spin the knob back and forth. Takes about two minutes but I fixed hundreds of cars with that issue.
will try it out. any way to turn off the low windshield wiper sensor? mine shows it’s low & it’s filled. dealership is trying to charge $100 to replace the sensor. no option in the car’s settings to just turn it off & the low windshield light is a nuisance.
Just bought my 2023 Nissan Altima SR Premium. A big issue with the radio. A large arcing sound through my speakers every so often. Very loud bang. Help.😢
I have a Nissan Rogue. Suddenly one day. I went to turn the volume up (it was on zero) and it went straight to full blast volume! About gave me a heart attack!! It still does this so I have audio off. Help! Any suggestions??
I’m never buying a Nissan ever in life. This company should be ashamed of creating bullshit cars. As a taxpayer like everyone else and a person who is still paying my car note it sucks to have several electric issues. I wish I would’ve kept my Mitsubishi

Spray some of electronic cleaner and the issue was fixed. Thank you. Do not use air duster that was what I did at first. 😂
They just told me I'd have to spend $200 just to tell me what's wrong with mine. I'm going to try this tonight.
Holy shit! It works!
