Have had this problem before and leaving the vehicle overnight usually fixes it. But that’s super inconvenient when you need to use gps or other monitor features. Happened again today, found out if you press and hold the power button (about 30 seconds) and wait for it to turn off, it resets and works when you turn it back on. I knew mine had shut off because audio was still coming out. Hope this helps someone 👍

My mistake lol I honestly think it’s the processor. When it gets overloaded instead of freezing it just cuts the screen for some reason but it could just be a poor connection somewhere. I know that a lot of other Nissans have this problem for some reason too

I am having few issues with my 2 weeks old new 2021 Nissan Rouge SV with premium package. The AC when sync and set between 64 to 67 gives warm air on the driver side AC vent. This is happening almost all the time. Dealer failed to notify me of safety recall prior to purchasing my car, have to go back for repair. The monitor display even on brightest resolution setting is blur and not very bright and clear even when the brightness is set to maximum on daytime without lights on. Cheap plastic click attaching the floor mat to the ground is made of poor quality and the clip broke off. This have never happened to me. Glove compartment have no lock or valet lock . I should have paid more attention to details realizing that some of the quality and workmanship placed in this vehicle is not of the premium quality with emphasize on details. One thing for sure, and that is I am not going back to Nissan again when my lease expires.!
I agree the attention to detail is not there like in other makes like Acura, Lexus, and even some Toyota’s and Honda’s. if you’re talking about other Japanese car manufacturers.
I have the 2021 SV Premium as well, I've had it 3 weeks. The AC turned of the AC mode all together while driving down the road. The radio head unit itself has a static sound almost like a wire isn't connected corrently coming from it while I'm driving. It's not the speakers it's in the unit itself, and for some reason I can only hear every other word on a phone conversation on bluetooth, but if I turn the bluetooth off I can hear them perfectly. I was told yeesterday they could also only hear me every other word while on bluetooth. I turned it off and they could hear me great. This is craziness when I haven't even had it a month. I wasn't aware of any recalls though, could you tell me more about what type it was?
Yeah I had the same issue on my 2021 Sentra but I had the window down the car was locked I manually unlocked it and it beeped so I used my key after that and my screen went black I follow ur advice it worked bro thankz
Hi, same thing happened when it was 30+degrees last week in my new rogue 2023. When I turned it ON, did reset couple of times and still nothing on screen. Screen is overheating or something? Both times it happened when car was sitting parked for few hours while I worked in very hot weather. I drove home 15-20km and did not come back ON. Came home turned engine off and back on few time and nothing. Left the car and came back after hour or 2 and then it came back ON after the car cooled off. Took it to my nissan dealer today and they said they didn’t find anything! How odd! Is it going to happen again in hot weather? Yet to see, but def not happy about the issue, as I had the car only for 2.5 months.
What I am finding in my 2019 Qashqai, the led screen goes black in the extreme summer or winter weather. I use a sunshade on my car in the summer, but when it's hot that screen gets freaking hot. Kinda like our phones when they overheat. No "tricks" just time to cool. Go for a drive, open your windows/turn on the AC and cool down your car. In the winter it's very sluggish to turn on and open until the car is warm. (Ya, I live in a spot where it goes from -30C to +30C) in a year. Fun times I tell ya

Another thing I don’t like about the Nissan rogue 2021 is the back doors when it’s snowy and slushy and salt on the ground it tends to go in between the back doors. There’s no cover to it so the slush and the salt goes inside of the doors .

Now my rogue is completely dead in my garage and having it towed to dealership 🤦🏼♀️🤬😡. Last time it was at the dealership they replaced a transmission sensor as it was “bad”. I’m so aggravated as this is my only form of transportation. I traded in my 2018 rogue for this 2021 rogue and wish that i would have kept the 18!

Had the same issue this morning and had me worried. Read online that holding down power button for 10 seconds should bring up the display. Worked for me. I have a feeling it has something to do with battery drain. Example: If I don't turn off the radio before turning off the vehicle, it drains the battery overnight.
Ya that will reset the screen. But I don’t know about the battery draw unless you have some electrical gremlin because I always leave mine on and I even have LED lights plugged into the cigarette lighter and I leave those on as well and they automatically turn off when I turn the car off.

When I went in reverse all it did was turn the screen dark but nothing was showing. I turned on and off my car and still the camera was not working and instead it was freezing my screen. Was very close to taking to it to the dealership however the next day (today) my screen and camera are working just fine. Seems Iike you need to let it sit for a bit and then turn it back on for it to work. I did end up calling the dealership they told me next time it happens to try and record it and then to bring it for an inspection.
We pay too much for these vehicles to have to do all this. I keep having issues with my windows making a loud rubbing sound when I roll it down. I've had two motors and a regulator replaced in it.

I traded my 2018 CRV cause it was boring but safe and reliable. Man ever since I got this 2021 Rogue Platinum it has been nothing but problems. My coworker and I got the same car at the same time and we both have the same issues. I had the car for 5 days and then it had a recall and it was making hissing noises on the driver side. They had my car for 27 days. The infotainment systems randomly reboots and now is completely off. No camera no nothing. Aside from that the side sensors go off while I’m driving scaring the crap out off me cause I’m thinking I’m going to hit something but no everything is clear around me. This car is comfortable and drives good but it wastes a lot of gas. I drove. 2 miles and my gas went down by 8 miles I was like WTH? man do I regret getting this. Never again will I buy a Nissan.
This happens to me all the time when my car is sitting out in hot weather. After the car cools down for about 30 minutes and eventually it turns back on. So frustrating. The screen is completely blank, no audio connects no reverse camera comes on. Going to try to do a reboot the audio system (holding down the power button) when the car goes back on.
My 2020 Rogue SV screen went black. Tried to reset it. Nothing. Took it to the dealership and they said the unit is dead. $2100 to replace. I can’t buy an off brand bc the computer interface won’t match up. Ugh. This car is less than 4 years old and 37000 miles. Very disappointing.

I’ve been told this could be because of the low memory of the infotainment system. It overloads the available memory from regular use and the system resets. I would take it to a dealer. I don’t think there’s anything you can do yourself to fix it
I love my Rouge. I've had this problem numerous of times. It gets so irritating. Taking my Rouge back to the dealership tomorrow. I will never get another nissan again
Just happened to me. In order to reset the screen, press and hold the power button (left volume dial) until you see the Nissan logo appear on the screen.
I just experienced the same issue with my 2021 Rogue SL FWD, I also turned the vehicle on and off a few times but as I was out and about I did not open my door until I got back home. I went inside for maybe 5 mins before going back out to check it and upon turning the car on the Nissan logo came up and the screen appeared to be working as normal…. Only other issue I have had with my is the blower motor stopped working for 1 day leaving me without heat or a/c but it seemed to have resolved itself overnight….

similar situation with my 2021 Armada. The display monitor will shut off and reboot, 360 camera either freezes up or shuts off as well and then the manual controls for the display monitor will not work.
Have had numerous cases of this happening over the past year, and dealership is “unable to duplicate”. Finally captured my issue on video and showed to Service Mgr. Tech Line tried to say that issues were likely related to phone connection. Showed another video where phone was not connected. Dealership replacing T/S under warranty.
I wonder if the replacement will have the same issues. Since it’s so common. I hope for your sake it solves the problem! Good luck and happy to hear they’re actually doing something
I hope so. Mine is being replaced as the video also showed that screen would stay on but would be unresponsive to pushing the buttons below as well. Switching to reverse (to engage backup camera) had no effect. Audio would keep playing, but screen was completely unresponsive to input.
Mine is not working and that’s why I’m watching this video. But it’s the first time it’s happened so I’m going to go home and let it sit and start it later. Thank you for the video.
I have a Nissan X-trail which is our Rogue 🇮🇪☘️. The screen has completely frozen .. saying doing a Media Update & then update failure counts down from 60 secs .. goes blank & then repeats the same over & over again .. no inputs work .. radio,camera & phone now don’t work .. Even when car is off screen carrying on doing this . Happened today.. any ideas
As far as I know there is no fix other than just a quick reset by holding the power button (volume knob) down but sounds like you have a different problem.

I’ve had a a Nissan Altima 2013, a Nissan Sentra 2015 and now a Nissan Altima 2019. The power botton reset on the radio doesn’t work. The radio sucks ! It changes radio stations on its own, you can’t control the volume from the steering wheel nor the radio button, the Car Play connects and disconnects whenever it feels like it. I need Nissan to fix the problem!

Mines is 2 weeks old with 459 miles it just did same thing to me ..letting it rest & pray it works again too. The music still was playing but blank screen
Hello, I had a similar problem with my Nissan Altima 2020, I used to connect my phone with the cable so I can use google maps but today I tried to connect the tablet Samsung S7 and I dis-configured everything. now I am not able to see the maps when I connect my phone, I have clear all the memories but nothing works

Mine does this all the time now too. Thinking im not going to keep this vehicle when lease is up. I had a 2006 Lexus with 180k miles and the touch nav screen never did this. My 2021 Rogue has 15k miles lol
My system is malfunctioning then restarting on its own. I have a 2021 Rogue SL with built-in navigation. I use SXM in replay mode, I like to skip back and forth to replay streamed songs, streaming multiple stations along with navigation, I like to monitor my ETA. Eventually, my gps eta and distance stops updating even though my map is correct. My commute is about 45 minutes, it usually cuts out around 30-40 minutes. Sometimes I try to use the physical buttons and on-screen commands, some work some do not. I can't even adjust the volume. Then my system shuts down and restarts. I wish my screen would do a system update at home through wifi like my last vehicle. I think the only way to do a system update might be to download and update then update through USB. I'll try the 10-second hard reboot trick and see if that helps. If not I may end up going to the dealer.
Thanks for the reset tip as it seemed to solve the issue tonight but has anyone notice this happens when it is raining or after you go thru a car wash? Seems to be the only time it happens in my 2021 Rogue.
Hello everyone, after connecting the + - to the battery the system did not send current to the radio so no radio no camera. The only way to get it back to work was by disconnecting the negative - from the battery, the system did the reset, everything was working. Nissan juke 2020. Greetings to all.
***How to fix this issue:*** Press & HOLD both the Volume Knob AND Tuning Knob simultaneously for approximately 15 to 20 seconds. The radio will restart and power itself back up.
it happend to me too i have a brand new sentra 2021 i did 200 km with the car and the screen is shut down completely i tried evrey thing it dosnt work so i went to the dealer they change the hall screen now i did 2700 km again this morning i the FM & AM bottoms not working.

@@SmokinMonkeyOG ah man. I am in Canada too. I don't know if I can get my deposit back. They tricked me into putting down a 500 deposit to wait for the rogues to arrive to test drive them. They had me sign nonrefundable paper. But they also said if you're not happy with the test drive it is refundable too.
Ya just test it out I think it’s a good vehicle just some issues they still need to work on. Personally I use it daily and put over 20,000 km so far and no problems with the radio since like last spring. I wouldn’t be worried unless you really changed your mind and want something else. My dad has a new crv and I would rather drive the rogue I think
it happened with Rouge 2018 ...it had a same issue and then when I started and did my reverse the display is not there and it rebooted after few mins and then it started ...I am not sure why it happened
I’m still experiencing this issue. I put the car in reverse yesterday and the screen was working until the car changed gears to reverse and then it shut off. Came back after a few min.
I have a 2022 Nissan Rogue and have 2,718 miles on mine and screen went black. All you need to do is reset the software by pushing both the Volume and Tuner buttons at same time and hold down for 10-20 seconds until you see the screen reset and Nissan logo comes on and it will reset. This way you can have fixed in a matter of 1-2minutes. It worked for me, hope this helps.

Simply press the volume and tuner knobs for 15 seconds. It will reset the screen.
Don’t need to hold both just the power button is enough (volume knob)

All I had to do was push down the volume button until display turned back on. Found the solution in your comment section!
My 2022 Nissan Pathfinder display screen went just now and I’m due for my first oil change tomorrow. I guess they will be looking at that too.

Me too! I traded my 2018 fid for 2021 for the 360 degrees camera. The SL premium model. Love it but the random blank screen gives me anxiety
Had same problem. Hold the volume button down for 15 seconds. The screen will reboot/reset. Problem fixed!!!!!

It happened to me, I pushed the volume button until it restarts. That will restart the computer or the screen.
I have a Samsung phone and I was able to bring it back on by going to smart things turning off and back on all acceses like audio calls and messages

They had my car for 27 days. The infotainment systems randomly reboots and now is completely off. No camera no nothing. Aside from that the side sensors go off while I’m driving scaring the crap out off me cause I’m thinking I’m going to hit something but no everything is clear around me. This car is comfortable and drives good but it wastes a lot of gas. I drove. 2 miles and my gas went down by 8 miles I was like WTH? man do I regret getting this. Never again will I buy a Nissan.

This happens to me all the time when my car is sitting out in hot weather. After the car cools down for about 30 minutes and eventually it turns back on. So frustrating. The screen is completely blank, no audio connects no reverse camera comes on. Going to try to do a reboot the audio system (holding down the power button) when the car goes back on.
Im having the same issue, screen is dead but l can hear music. I will follow your advise hopefully it works.
My 2020 Rogue SV screen went black. Tried to reset it. Nothing. Took it to the dealership and they said the unit is dead. $2100 to replace. I can’t buy an off brand bc the computer interface won’t match up. Ugh. This car is less than 4 years old and 37000 miles. Very disappointing.

This isn't good. Just purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue and have the same type of radio. Now that I have read some of the comments below ( you press and hold the power button (about 30 seconds).. So if this happens I will know what to do...Again- NOT good. This shouldn't be happening. I wonder if these problems have been reported to the Nissan ? We will see.. Thanks - ALL..
My screen keeps randomly resetting. I tried your fix as well as holding the power and sound button and it continues to reset.
I’ve been told this could be because of the low memory of the infotainment system. It overloads the available memory from regular use and the system resets. I would take it to a dealer. I don’t think there’s anything you can do yourself to fix it
I love my Rouge. I've had this problem numerous of times. It gets so irritating. Taking my Rouge back to the dealership tomorrow. I will never get another nissan again
Just happened to me. In order to reset the screen, press and hold the power button (left volume dial) until you see the Nissan logo appear on the screen.

I just experienced the same issue with my 2021 Rogue SL FWD, I also turned the vehicle on and off a few times but as I was out and about I did not open my door until I got back home. I went inside for maybe 5 mins before going back out to check it and upon turning the car on the Nissan logo came up and the screen appeared to be working as normal…. Only other issue I have had with my is the blower motor stopped working for 1 day leaving me without heat or a/c but it seemed to have resolved itself overnight….

I did hold the volume button down before watching the video but nothing happened... not sure if I wasn't holding it down long enough... but I turned it off went inside and watched this video... went outside to try it and when I cranked it up it was working 🤦♂️ also a 2021 Rogue SV
Not sure but on mine you need to hold it down for a while. Like 20-30 seconds

similar situation with my 2021 Armada. The display monitor will shut off and reboot, 360 camera either freezes up or shuts off as well and then the manual controls for the display monitor will not work.

Have had numerous cases of this happening over the past year, and dealership is “unable to duplicate”. Finally captured my issue on video and showed to Service Mgr. Tech Line tried to say that issues were likely related to phone connection. Showed another video where phone was not connected. Dealership replacing T/S under warranty.
I wonder if the replacement will have the same issues. Since it’s so common. I hope for your sake it solves the problem! Good luck and happy to hear they’re actually doing something
I hope so. Mine is being replaced as the video also showed that screen would stay on but would be unresponsive to pushing the buttons below as well. Switching to reverse (to engage backup camera) had no effect. Audio would keep playing, but screen was completely unresponsive to input.

I have a Nissan X-trail which is our Rogue 🇮🇪☘️. The screen has completely frozen .. saying doing a Media Update & then update failure counts down from 60 secs .. goes blank & then repeats the same over & over again .. no inputs work .. radio,camera & phone now don’t work .. Even when car is off screen carrying on doing this . Happened today.. any ideas
As far as I know there is no fix other than just a quick reset by holding the power button (volume knob) down but sounds like you have a different problem.

You can disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. That will reset it and it will be good to go.

I’ve had a a Nissan Altima 2013, a Nissan Sentra 2015 and now a Nissan Altima 2019. The power botton reset on the radio doesn’t work. The radio sucks ! It changes radio stations on its own, you can’t control the volume from the steering wheel nor the radio button, the Car Play connects and disconnects whenever it feels like it. I need Nissan to fix the problem!

Hi we are experience the same problem on our new nissan juke 2 model 2020/2021. The car is only 1yr old and yesterday the battery was dead then when we started the car we found the radio and the camera are not working.

My screen has to be replaced dealership tried everything . Now I have to wait for part to come in and A/C fuse needs to be replaced really 2021 issues. We aren’t supposed to have issues on 2021. they need to build reliable vehicles. I asked if they’ve had any other vehicles with same issues, they said no. I Need to show them this video.
This has happened to mine multiple times, but when I have taken my 21 rogue to dealership, they cannot replicate it, so nothing they can fix, they seem oblivious to it. Now my rogue is completely dead in my garage and having it towed to dealership 🤦🏼♀️🤬😡. Last time it was at the dealership they replaced a transmission sensor as it was “bad”. I’m so aggravated as this is my only form of transportation. I traded in my 2018 rogue for this 2021 rogue and wish that i would have kept the 18!

Hold power and tune knobs for 20 seconds. That’s how we fixed a 2022 frontier with this issue.
Mines is 2 weeks old with 459 miles it just did same thing to me ..letting it rest & pray it works again too. The music still was playing but blank screen

Hello, I had a similar problem with my Nissan Altima 2020, I used to connect my phone with the cable so I can use google maps but today I tried to connect the tablet Samsung S7 and I dis-configured everything. now I am not able to see the maps when I connect my phone, I have clear all the memories but nothing works

Mine does this all the time now too. Thinking im not going to keep this vehicle when lease is up. I had a 2006 Lexus with 180k miles and the touch nav screen never did this. My 2021 Rogue has 15k miles lol

My system is malfunctioning then restarting on its own. I have a 2021 Rogue SL with built-in navigation. I use SXM in replay mode, I like to skip back and forth to replay streamed songs, streaming multiple stations along with navigation, I like to monitor my ETA. Eventually, my gps eta and distance stops updating even though my map is correct. My commute is about 45 minutes, it usually cuts out around 30-40 minutes. Sometimes I try to use the physical buttons and on-screen commands, some work some do not. I can't even adjust the volume. Then my system shuts down and restarts. I wish my screen would do a system update at home through wifi like my last vehicle. I think the only way to do a system update might be to download and update then update through USB. I'll try the 10-second hard reboot trick and see if that helps. If not I may end up going to the dealer.
Thanks for the reset tip as it seemed to solve the issue tonight but has anyone notice this happens when it is raining or after you go thru a car wash? Seems to be the only time it happens in my 2021 Rogue.
Not sure about other people but I’ve had it happen twice and neither were after or during rain or after car wash for me.

Hello everyone, after connecting the + - to the battery the system did not send current to the radio so no radio no camera. The only way to get it back to work was by disconnecting the negative - from the battery, the system did the reset, everything was working. Nissan juke 2020. Greetings to all.
When it updates over the air this will happen.

***How to fix this issue:***
Press & HOLD both the Volume Knob AND Tuning Knob simultaneously for approximately 15 to 20 seconds. The radio will restart and power itself back up.
Lmao only power knob is needed. Not sure why everyone is adding the extra knob but it’s not necessary
it happend to me too i have a brand new sentra 2021 i did 200 km with the car and the screen is shut down completely i tried evrey thing it dosnt work so i went to the dealer they change the hall screen now i did 2700 km again this morning i the FM & AM bottoms not working.

Just got more help. Press tuner and radio on button for 20 seconds at same time after starting car. Hold until screen comes on. It worked!
You don’t need to hold both just the power button (volume knob is power button)

The radio thing is still an issue. Same with the driver assistance but you can turn those off. Other than that I think they fixed most things.

@@SmokinMonkeyOG ah man. I am in Canada too. I don't know if I can get my deposit back. They tricked me into putting down a 500 deposit to wait for the rogues to arrive to test drive them. They had me sign nonrefundable paper. But they also said if you're not happy with the test drive it is refundable too.
Ya just test it out I think it’s a good vehicle just some issues they still need to work on. Personally I use it daily and put over 20,000 km so far and no problems with the radio since like last spring. I wouldn’t be worried unless you really changed your mind and want something else. My dad has a new crv and I would rather drive the rogue I think

it happened with Rouge 2018 ...it had a same issue and then when I started and did my reverse the display is not there and it rebooted after few mins and then it started ...I am not sure why it happened
I’m still experiencing this issue. I put the car in reverse yesterday and the screen was working until the car changed gears to reverse and then it shut off. Came back after a few min.

I have a 2022 Nissan Rogue and have 2,718 miles on mine and screen went black.
All you need to do is reset the software by pushing both the Volume and Tuner buttons at same time and hold down for 10-20 seconds until you see the screen reset and Nissan logo comes on and it will reset. This way you can have fixed in a matter of 1-2minutes. It worked for me, hope this helps.
