How the hell did that Altima beat the accord in roll races…I’ve driven them as rentals and thought that they were decently quick…I knew that 2.5 was underrated. However, can’t beat the hybrid on launch.

Everybody here crying about the accord 2.0. No one cares, noone bought them because they are not performance cars, they are fwd family sedans and the fact that an camry will slightly pull on a accord matters to noone. It's not fast enough to offer anything significant you can feel from the driver's seat, just a slow walk away from a other slow car. The accords, damping, weight transfer, balance, fuel economy, steering feel and everything else that people care about is still baked into an accord for free, no one cars about that extra half second that the camry is slightly faster. If that's your priority you shouldn't be looking at this class of cars anyway as there is nothing sporty about any of them. Especially a front wheel drive Toyota with a park bench of a spoiler to add downforce to the wrong wheels

The problems with pollution have little to do with automobiles and a lot more with consumption. They'll never say anything about that because that would kill the 1% that drive Bugattis and fly in private jets.
I'm glad you did this comparison. The car magazines wouldn't do one showing a Camry completely destroying an Accord.
Sam, I didn't like this race, the truth is that they are not the representatives of each brand, only the Camry TRD and it has a lot of advantage, we already knew who would win from the beginning.😡😯😢

You guys are hilarious 😂
I’m still rocking with Honda 💯
If you want a quick Honda you have to pay Acura prices- thats if you want new. The TRD Camry is the best new car under 40k period. Nothing comes close at 37,900 and thats thetop of the line price. The TRD Camry is one hell of a car for that cost.
I have the Altima 2.0 turbo and it's a powerful car that no v6 engine could precede me.😂
I'm interested to see the TRD vs. 2.0T Accord and the Turbo Altima..
The Accord 2.0T would make short work of those two.
There is one already by Throttle House.
@@MidnightAspecnot really. Throttle House did a race with them already, Accord won, yes, but it didnt walk the TRD.
@@MidnightAspec not really-it is either tied with the TRD or the Camry will beat it by half car. Ive seen many 23-24 TRDs whoooop Accord 2.0tS FROM 2020..
The Accord 2.0T from 2020 does not make short work of the TRD Camry- are you kidding me?? Ive seen it many times no way in hell. Ive owned both and stock to stock the TRD is a better faster car. There many vids on YT that either show the TRD Winning by half car, or the Accord winning by a bumber- literally 2 feet. In real life its usually the TRD by half car minimum...ive had both trust me the TRD is better..
The toyota camry v6 actually sounds nice with a upgraded exhaust
If only it was the Vc-Turbo 🥲
THANK u I've been looking for this comment. We all know that the VC-TURBO beating both.
@@mikejr7976 its not beating TRD bro sorry ive seen that fight and it doesnt work well for the VC Turb
It’d still lose to both
@@KatoKaelin-t9o lol where did you see that?
@@danielhamby9448 nah it’s right on par with accord 2.0t
Most manufacturers got too comfortable with CVTs. The Accord 2.0T with an 10 speed automatic was something to behold.
Sam why not use the 2.0 turbo accord and Altima? good comparison anyways the accord and Altima were so close lol
Awesome races, Sam! I am loving the new light countdown shots. Btw, I have a race idea: Elantra N vs Camry TRD and maybe even throw the Accord 2.0T into the mix for good measure haha
Good one
If Elantra N is not octane learned, its not that fast
Elantra would win that race against the TRD Camry and 2.0T Accord. 2nd place would be the Accord 2.0T then the Camry would be 3rd
@@Andres.Herrera Yep, I agree, but I wanna see by how much
@@SamCarLegion Whenever you do have the Elantra N back on the channel, make sure it is octane learned before the races!
The TRD Camry is the best car you can get under 40k,,,period
What about XSE V6 ?
facts
@@yasirmk8617xse v6 cost a little more than $40k+. you might as well get a lexus is350 at that point, the TRD is the best bang for your buck for under $40k still
Def not Elantra N, golf gti, civic si. All better in every category except for reliability of course 😂
Trash lol and the Trd Camry not under 40k it’s about 46k after the finance 😂
When you install a D3 performance upgrade in the TRD Camry, its performance significantly improves. (You're unleashing the beast). Mine had its speed limiter removed.
My ‘13 altima sl is a blessing 😅 it also gets up to 7k revs if ur flooring it in the standard drive mode but simulates quick shifts in Ds
Why didn't you use the VC-Turbo? You used the base engine for Altima? Has to make sense........???
Not available
Not only that but they used the AWD version which is even slower than the base engine 2wd version.
It would be great if we could see the preview of the gauges. Especially with hybrids it'll show how they manage their batteries during pulls and in between them
What would that v6 do with a turbo
if the camry trd had a turbo it wouldn’t be comparable to any accord or any maxima. v6 + turbo would be insane. so close to being perfect too
Hey Sam, my F.O.B. modified 2018 Camry XSE V6 2GR-FKS with D3 ECU tune 100 octane - custom made 5 inch cold ram air inlet tube into the factory air box with K&N filter - RIPP supercharger coil packs - custom all mandrel bent all stainless steel 2/12 inch diameter pipes "true dual" twin pipes cat back exhaust with AERO Turbine 2525 mufflers - 362 HP @ flywheel and 308 HP @ wheels - Top speed 165 mph plus - 0-60 4.8 seconds 1/4 mile 13.8 seconds.
What’s getting you the extra 20-30ish hp and torq? The custom intake or the exhaust?
I have a 22 trd with the aem intake with a lot of gold tape wrapped around it (doesn’t help with the heat anyways) d3 tuned on 93, I haven’t tried e85 yet even though I have it. I’m still on oe coil packs as well and I only have a res delete with oem trd exhaust. I can touch around 335-340hp to the crank on 93 pump gas.
I like the look of the new altimas. But I really wish Toyota would have put a turbo on that TRD.
they should have raced the Altima SR VC-TURBO.
right. if toyota put a turbo in the TRD it would put everything in its category to shame. v6 + turbo🚀
The 2024 TRD Camry is the best car you can get brand new under 40k. And that's a fact JACK.........periodddddd
How the hell did that Altima beat the accord in roll races…I’ve driven them as rentals and thought that they were decently quick…I knew that 2.5 was underrated. However, can’t beat the hybrid on launch.
Despite that it was not a good comparison.. They should have gotten the 2.0 VC Turbo
it's because this wasn't a good comparison they raced the base engine Altima instead of the VC-TURBO ALTIMA.
Because everyone loves to hate on the Altima. The 2.5 is plenty quick especially once you get going.
Nobody buys a V6 for fuel efficiency, we buy for performance. In buying my car now I test drove a V4 XSE which was beautiful visually, but after driving a V6 XLE I couldn’t buy the V4. I love how the V6 drives. And if they don’t have a V6 Camry then this is probably the last one I’ll ever have.
Why dont you use the altima sr turbo?
Right!
The 2009-11 accord v6 hfp 6 speed will forever be my favorite.
Too many reliability issues with those v6s.. the spark plugs would come out of the block..😮
Can you do a drag race with a sonata n line and an elantra n?
I believe we did
@@SamCarLegion you should have put GLI in this race 40th Anniversary is fast on a roll and with stage 1 little tuned is gonna gap all these cars

Been waiting for this video with the new Honda accord🤝🏽
I don't know where did you get those weight numbers from...
Accord Touring Hybrid weight according to the official Honda Canada website: 1606kg (3540.6 lb)
Camry TRD V6 base curb weight according to the official Toyota Canada website: 1620kg (3571.5 lb)
Altima SR AWD weight according to the official Nissan Canada website: 1570kg (3462 lb)
Interesting
This is why i'm keeping my 2020 Accord Touring.
I’ve owned many accords since the 90’s. Hurts my soul hearing that cvt in the accord. I get it in a civic, and I guess if it’s only the hybrid attest there’s a choice but ugh sounds like death
Most hybrids has cvt transmissions.😂
Poor ford Taurus. Couldn’t stand a chance.
That Camry THO. 👑 🔥

@SamCarLegion Can we get a race between the Nissan Maxima vs the Camry TRD vs the accord 2.0t?
Yep

I say this all the time CVT transmissions are awesome on the highway!!
The Altima wasn’t the 2.0
the 2.0-liter VC-Turbo four-cylinder gasoline engine as an option, because it’s not available with all-wheel drive. Instead, all Altima models sold in Canada feature the 188-hp 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit. They do not sell Nissan 2.0t in Canada
There is a Vc-Turbo Altima thats the base engine.
Thank u because this is not fair😂😂.
TRD looks and sounds nicest of all
Hey Sam, can we get a drag race on budget (lowest trim model) luxury cars, such as maybe Lexus is300 turbo 4 inline, Acura TLX with its 2.0T, BMW 330i, Cadillac CT4, Alfa Romeo Giulia, Genius G70

Camry trd vs 2024 sonata N line 🙏🏽
Right. It will be a good race. The sonata N line will take it though
N line will smoke it .
Great video as always
Honda should be ashamed of themselves. The Accord was once the standard in this class now it’s losing to a freaking Camry.
😭😢
That Accord did pretty well considering it's down 100hp compared to the Camry. Was expecting the Camry to totally destroy the Accord right off the line but surprisingly the Accord actually pull a car length on the Camry V6 for a brief moment.
The accord sounds like a vacuum cleaner
Did you see the difference between the first race between the Accord and Altima and the third race? This is a feature of the CVT transmission. I used it in my previous car, the Accord 1.5 Turbo, and the difference between them is huge in acceleration.. drive the car full throttle At low speeds or 0 in a place of water or dirt and the traction is running the computer will change its gears programming
I don’t understand why test the base Altima maybe the maxima would be a better choice the accord should have been replaced with a k5 gt or sonata n line I knew it’s slow compared to the competition.

Camry TRD my dream car😢 i wish one day get one 👏
The new accord is nothing but a disappointment

Surprised the altima best the accord on that roll. The altima is down over 20hp and has awd powertrain loss. I thought this was going to be the 2.0t altima in the race but canada doesn't have it. Fwd altima wouldve beat the accord on the other roll race. Why is the hmguy so mad the altima was holding redline? It was much more quiet than the accord and it also held redline smh...
AWD usually benefits a car in drag races on benefits. Plus the Accord Touring is a heavy boat with all the sound deadening and leather.
Remember that TRD in real world doesn't even get 29mpg mixed.
Add the GLI! vs TRD should be good race
I would buy a Camry TRD, if I could get over that ugly (imo) rear wing spoiler. That thing has no business on this car. I wish it would have used the Avalon TRD spoiler.
Get the regular one with the v6
Then get the XSE, it's the better car.
@isaacstacoify It doesn't get the TRD sport tuned suspension though. That's the real appeal of the TRD Camry imo. 🤷🏽
@0to60_
The TRD sport tuned suspension is missing there though. Maybe a full deck lid switch with a wrecked XSE or someone who wants the TRD wing on their XSE could be arranged. 🤷🏽

The best 2024 camry xse-D4S and 8 speed automatic transmissiom. Just my 2 cent.
I owned the 22 SV awd Altima and 23 2.5 S base and yup both were horrible of the line lol, but very simple motor and once rollin decent for there output. on my 190 mile round trip from a 95ft to 1,900 ft elevation n back down to 95ft it avg. 38 to 43 mpg highway so I was very impressed ... specially since I got both for under $25k ( usd )
