- Hi guys! A big week at CWMC HQ; We are painting Laura's Rover P5! Myles and Dean stopped in to help mask it up, and I put on the first 3 coats of Arden Green urethane... Jim even stopped in to see how it went!
Then: A visit to the GCFCE to see if we could get Dan's 1953 Oldsmobile 98 Holiday Hardtop to fire up, and maybe even go for a short drive around the yard?
Thanks to everyone who ordered a "T" shirt... They are on their way now!

Rover looks like glass Scott! Well done!
Tried to get a calendar but had problems with the PayPal not taking my debit card for some reason
@@juliancrooks3031 maybe your card expired since you used PayPal last, and you need to update PayPal with the new expiry date? Did you try using your card directly (rather than going through PayPal)? Scott's a very clever guy, but I don't think even he will be able to sort out issues at PayPal.
Procrastinated long enough.. Bought a Calendar.. Hope I wasn't too late!!!
My standard poodle girl Creamy died at 11. survived by her mom, sister and daughter. The pack is growing old.
. It plots on the bell curve. on the left are 12 to 15 % are too stupid to join the military; on the right 16.25 % are smart enough to figure it out and don't take action; 62.5 % will not speak truth to the de facto they have family, business, job, life consumes their time, TV, internet, drugs, cognitive dissonance, Stockholm Syndrome. That leaves 3 to 5 % on the left the Khazarian mafia, industrial-military-legislative - judiciary - executive - UN - Nazi - Communist- Satanist etc etc complex that controls the stupid BLM, antifa, incorporated governance on the left side- 3 to 5% on the right to take back our Constitutional republican form of government this year 2023. www.orsja.org I am unable to duplicate on this text the graph.
That is the perfect color for such an iconic English car. I am sure Laura is very pleased. What a journey it has been. An honor to watch a craftsman at work, Scott.
Myles is Sore and Hurting But Shows Up Everyday. He is an Incredible Friend.
I don't know what Dan laid out for the Olds, but what a find.
Love that Olds, don't think I'll ever get over the feeling of when you see old iron fire back to life
She's got a better "chop" than Miles' Newport 🤣🤣
So very true!!!!!!
For those like me who are passionate about Rock and Roll and American cars from the 1950s, the Olds Rocket88 has a double meaning... Beautiful car and the first Rock and Roll song in history!😍
The Bop Kings out of Texas, later the Barnyard Stompers out of Colorado, had a song Rocket To The Moon regarding the Rocket 88. Common engine swap along with overhead Cadillacs before the SBC showed up
Thank you! I'm going to listen to it right now!👍
Love the colour of Laura's rover. Sure they never left the factory with a paint job as good as that! And that Olds running as sweet as that, incredible. Some cars just want to live. Great Saturday night entertainment, as always. Thanks, Scott and all the agents for your efforts. Best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧
“Fog lights. I hit a bump and they both started working.” 😂😂
Overdue Olds appearance. This was my first car. I was 15 and hid it at a friends house. Reclaimed from a boneyard my buddy worked at, it came in with a blown engine. Took a 371 4 bbl out of a wrecked ‘58, and I had a burner machine. No title, no plates.
Eventually I owned 3 1950 88’s with the 303. You won’t find a smoother quieter engine. You can stand next to them and you don’t know they’re running. That engine put NASCAR on the map.
A ‘53 98 my Dad had provided my first ride in an automobile- on the way home from the hospital.
Perfect day to watch this while i have a brisket on the smoker.
I'll be right over!😆
Hello from Memphis TN being an old guy I'm really partial to the big fat fender cars we grew up with. My dad was a GM olds Buick guy and his brother was Ford fairlane fan. So I gotta see the best of both sides in the 50s. Thanks for the memory
I can't wait to see you working on the SM again.
That Oldsmobile , is so beautiful , the globe on the steering wheel, killer :0)
I’ll bet Laura is happy about the paint!!
Always a pleasure never a chore.
It's always a fun show when old iron is coaxed back to life!
A guy can never go wrong with a Model T based intro! I've watch you guys do countless "will it start" shows, but I still always squirm around in my chair while giving un-needed advice and encouragement. (with my wife in the other room saying, "who are you talking to?") Cheers and Happy Halloween from the shed
As 303cid's roars to life. 180 horsepower is awake again.
I love how you all help each other, seeing all the love you give to these special old cars make me happy. They will never be built again, and everyone you save is worth the work. Great job to all.
Magical scenes, thank you! And an extra thank you to all of you for having us around, very much appreciated. Wonderful colour on the Rover and a great 'clatter' from Jim's Merc.
He sure is ready for Winter Beater Challenge '23/'24. BTW, enjoy the fact you are all into various models and makes, a really cool variety there. Cheers Scott and Frankers 😄✌
Paint on the Rover and the Olds runs. What an episode!!
The Olds and the Caddy are Cold War personified
Man it's great to see paint finally fly on the Rover! Been one hell of a project! It looks brilliant in its new coat of green
Cheers y'all hope Fall is treating you right way the fuck up there😂
Ready for the Rover! What an undertaking it has been; not quite the '60 Fury undertaking, but certainly a lot of work.
I hope you video the day your sister takes delivery.
What a great ride that 53 Olds is! Great that you, Dan, Paul (and Tiger) were able to actually get it started and run. Cheers again from Connecticut!
That Olds is sure clean under the valve covers!
Arden Green! One thing I love about the colour is at night it almost looks black.
Major step forwards! Congratulations, Scott.
Planning your cold months - good stuff
Really appreciate all of the work each week Scott. 32 years of being an automotive tech has resulted in me getting a new knee on Monday. I plan to watch all of the ‘60 Fury video playlist from start to finish while I lay here and rest! Just wanted to say thanks in advance! Regards, Randy
Being from the early '50's, I had forgotten the closeness I had felt with that '53 Oldsmobile 98 Holiday. The body, the engine humming....the sheer hugeness compard to a little guy like me back then. A massive comfortable and comforting machine. How I miss those gals! Thanx gents for the short flight in thar dream machine world!
Sitting here in rural Australia, wearing my “T” shirt, having just processed an order for the calendar, loving the cultural enrichment going on at the GCFCE, enjoying the vision of the Rover in green, and loving the dog-and-cat-friendly world that is CWM. I’m getting a new appreciation for the fussy, stodgy over-pontoned barges of the early ‘50s too, even if the radiator in the Olds looks identical to the one in my ‘40 Pontiac, and probably the ‘37 Chev too, I bet. Thanks so much, Scott, agents, and four-legged friends.
My wife smiles when she sees me watching early on Sunday mornings here. She reckons that this is the only show, on TH-cam, on TV, or the streaming services, that I’ve stuck with, and that’s because it’s always entertaining and genuine. Makes a real difference to my week, I appreciate your efforts.
And again, to the folks who aren’t yet patrons, I really encourage you to kick in the cost of a coffee or a beer every now and then. So very worth it!
It was good to see paint on the Rover and Dan's 53 Olds running so well. And I see Dan's secret to a successful carb rebuild at around the 32:00 mark - keep the bottle of Havana Club closed. And we were given some winter previews - the spare Packard Straight 8, which I hope will be as good an engine as this Olds Rocket is, and the 59 Buick. As I remember, there were 2 59 Buick 4 doors, the other a flattop. So many cars - Scott should have been born triplets, with all of these diamonds in the rough waiting their turn.
Another superlative episode. The Rover resplendent in Arden Green, the DS doing great, a fine "winter tease" with the SM, and more to be worked on. Oh that Olds, my what a car. You weren't going to be defeated, as usual, and we were all rewarded with some fine V8 burble and it moves too! Its clear you really love those two cars Dan just got, and why not they are icons. As always thanks so much to you and all the Agents for sharing your fun with us
Another great show Scott, Franker's and agent's and Patreons.
Everyone have a fantastic weekend.
Green is a great color for this Rover.
I’m so excited to see more of the SM, I love seeing your French cars 🍻
Dan's olds is just epic! It has that classic Olds sound. Either the Olds or the Cadillac are worth restoring. The finished restorations of the cars are worth quite a bit of money.
Yes, more Packard startups.
That open road intro with the cycle & the T was splendid and topped off by an always pleasurable appearance by Frankers. Grand collective effort by the Agents on Laura’s Rover, which will be a jewel when finished and no longer a ‘jewel in the rough.’ The initial turnover of Dan’s 303 was another triumph; with his latest acquisitions, he’s challenging Jim and Myles for the title of ‘The Agent Having the Best Cars of All Time.” Their winter beaters are better than my daily driver….
the rover is going to look amazing!
First. Your posting means it's officially time for a refreshing beverage.
The rover is looking great.
Holy cow! I can almost smell the paint fumes! She's looking good!
Oldsmobile actually called the 2-door hardtop body style "Holiday Coupé" in 1953. When they expanded to 4-door hardtops they called them "Holiday Sedans". The first car I can remember was our family's '56 Rocket 88 Holiday Sedan. And, yes, that's the car I rode home in from the hospital.
Olds and Cady two great automobile treasures !
Laura goes Arden green! A great choice on a fab job guys - phew… at last, and how she gleams!
Dan’s cars are absolute gems 💎 💎. The world hang in the balance whack, whack…and then… snap! The valve closed, wonderful stuff.
Dear Frankers was left speechless at the choice of fabulous carriages to take to the ball.
Yes, please, to standing Packard straight-8 engine-stand revival review. Now that's TV worth watching. Thank you, Scott.
nice to see the Rover getting some paint action and good to see the 53 up and moving again. great time. cheers.
Great show. As usual. The new Brg green paint, a 98 Olds now running and moving. What more could we expect from CWM. Thanks guys and gals. Your East Texas fans applaud you.
Watching a master artist at work - amazing job!
Nice job on the paint CWM's!
Canadian's running amok on the back roads of Alberta--my weekend now has purpose!😎
The green on Laura's rover came out nice. The visits to the GCFCE are always interesting, was awesome to see you guys get the Olds running. Cheers!
Hi, Scott I love the colour sceme on Laura's Rover. I can't wait for you to paint the panels and the final assembly. Please tell Myles love the work on the '66 Fury. I can't wait when start working on '59 Buick. The '53 Olds start up was great. The Charles Kettering's 303 engine was a great design by that man. I hope you and the other agents are safe and well. Cheers!
The Oldsmobile Rocket V8 sounds like melody to my ears. Very typical for the old Cadillac and Oldsmobile oil filter gaskets to leak. Usually a issue with engines that have been sitting for decades. Don't know who got ripped off on the auction more, you or Dan? But now you both have some interesting vehicles.
God I love this car says Scott says Jim says Dean
Love it all me says
Forgot to say another fantastic well produced episode keep up the great work (Rover is a real tribute to your professionalism)
Superb work! Arden green is such an unusual and rich colour - gorgeous.
Looking forward to an update on the Mark, will never tire of the French cars, and can't wait to hear the Olds start!
Oldsmobile was the car throughout the Fifties. The Rocket engine was legendary, and all the new stuff GM tested hit Oldsmobile first. The floor mounted radio channel changer, the automatic headlight dimmer, tinted windows, and the sprouting of baby fins before anyone else. The 57 J-2 is my dream car, BUT I'd take that 53 Holiday in a heartbeat!
Looking forward to my calendar.
What a wonderful video , from start to finish .
Looking forward to your next madcap
adventures on CWM .
All the best!
What a great picture ! Very exciting time watching all the projects coming together . Green looks great on the rover . And the OLDMOBILE is quite a collector item . Cheers !
Seeing Laura's Rover get some paint on it and Dan's Olds running.... Great episode. Cheers!
Dan has all the cool cars! Not fair!!!😆
I also have a "shop cat'" he's a 17 year old Tabby that gets into everything. He's too old to be a "mouser" anymore but he's better company than some of the friends I've had over the years who only came around when they wanted something, like to use my 9000lb Lift. 🙂
In that shade of green, the Rover looks like it belongs in The Royal Mews, I’d certainly give way to it. Beautiful job.
Love that green man it looks great hell of a job man
Laura's version of the Green Hornet is bad ass. Great color choice.
Nice to see the paint on the Rover. Dan's '53 Olds is a beauty of a machine. I am off to work on my beauty of a machine too. The old '53 Westinghouse is getting its yearly defrost tonight. Gotta keep it going for another 70 years!
Laura's one word review of her Rover had better be nothing less than fabulous when it's done. The Olds is sweet. I've heard of those auto dimmers, but I've never seen one. Thanks for the weekly entertainment. Cheers!
Nice slick paint job with mirror finish Scott, I'll bet that felt like a milestone getting paint on the Rover.
Oldsmobile...wow, what a car, purred like a kitten on idle and even the horn worked, big success !!
Great show Scott,
Cheers from Texas 🤠
I’m so happy your working on the Rover. Cant wait for it to be finished for your lovely sister..
Ahh! That olds is a real sweetheart! But ,Hey, we never got to see whats inside the Pandoras...i mean: the autronic eye box
Great episode as usual Scott! I hope we can see more of Dan's 53 Olds! When new that car was top of the line as they say. To have one like this with all the cool accessories and in such nice shape should be a keeper. Dan has all that is needed to do a nice restoration which this beauty deserves!
I hope he restores it too, much more interesting than the 80’s stuff!
Junkyard Packard revival. You betcha!
No paint expert but looks phenomenal to me.
Good evening 🍻 Scott
That particular green on ,
Laura's car looks MINT !!
That 53 Oldsmobile 98 ,
has so much potential 💖
Even the wheels look great
That Carter is HUGE !!
I'm not sure how Dan finds those diamonds in the rough but
I'm glad it's in his collection
and it's a RUNNER !!
First generation cartridge
oil filter too
That Horn was loud AF ,
Even at this end 😂
Wait a minute ......
A Junkyard Packard engine ??
SWEET !!!!
Ya know Scott , I'm actually becoming intrigued with that ,
Peugeot 403
However , I still haven't forgotten about that , 40 Dodge either .
Can't wait for my CWM
Calendar 📅
Great to see some Oldsmobile Rocket love! Nothing else sounds quite like an Olds.🚀
..this was a great one, Scott...luv that Laura's Rover is coming together, but dang, that Olds is awesome....thanks...
Laura's car looks so nice. It must feel good to see it with some colour on it. Dan's Olds steals the show this week though. I absolutely love that car. I hate patina cars but I would drive that olds after not much more than a set of dual pipes and a tuneup. What a beautiful design. Thx again Scott for a few fun moments. Cheers
My T shirt arrived today. Rocket is a runner. Rover is closer to being finished. ❤😎✌️👍Cheers
The top of that head was unbelievably clean.
The opening shot of the T and the Indian could be the opener for about 100 movies! Rover looks sharp, then I remember Scott is color blind and my mind is blown...and a Olds 98 'Will it Run", what more could anyone want?
Love your paint expertise Scott. Watched that Rover come apart-be repaired and rebuilt...but the Paint I the Cherry!!
Olds start-up-I remember seeing those on the road. Our neighbor was an Olds guy-new one every year. His '57 was my favorite! Thanks for sharing all! Stay well and Cheers to all your Buds! Rich
That dark green on the Rover shines like an emerald Laura’s going to like driving this car more than the Volvo the Olds is one of a kind the engine sounds good 👍😃
Thank goodness you and Jim are going to be back working on the Continental fender! I’ve really missed those fitment videos!
The Rover; great color!
Harley Earl's bulgemobile lives again! Wish it were that easy to get a long sitting dead relic of mine going....
Great work on the paint for the rover.
And you both did an amazing start and run on the Oldsmobile.
I'm so glad to see old iron running and not just rotting away.
Great video.
What a fantastic job on the Rover 😊 thanks for another great Saturday night.
What a great episode, Laura's Rover is going to be gorgeous, beautiful color and an awesome result at the GCFCE.
Man it's always such a great feeling to see color on a car you've put so much work into.....and that's the perfect color too. Laura is a lucky woman to have a brother who can do your level of quality work on such a special car.
And how cool is it to hear the old Rocket fire up! We are probably going to be the last generation to bring these rolling works of art back to life. I'm glad to be here to witness it and thankful you're documenting it for us. Awesome video this week!
OMG. That 53. What a sweet 🍭 ride. I also love the color on the Rover. Big 👍 Scott!
Love the green on Laura’s Rover. Wish car companies would offer more colours these days. Tired of the sea of black, silver, and grey I see in parking lots. Dan’s Olds sounds fucking awesome. Don’t think I’ve heard an early Rocket V8 run before. Such a cool car wish it was mine lol. Cheers guys 🍻
I wanted to clarify my comments made last week. My accident was last Saturday and my comments were made from the ER. I'm slowly recovering from home. I will be very interested in the 53 Olds project as my grandfather has a 1954 Olds 98 four door. It was junked out in 64 due to extensive rust, Lake Erie snow belt in Ohio. On your Dodge trucks with electric steering they have a habit of failing and locking in place, so beware. It happened on our 2005 1500.
My girlfriend is experiencing that problem on her 2005 the last month or so. Wasn’t sure what the problem is, thanks!
That green really will make the Rover shine. Dan is the perfect Oldsmobile man. That should make a great car to drive.
Scott. Love the green on Laura's Rover. Beautiful.
That old Oldsmobile is a runner for sure and yes, thumbs 👍 for the Packard engine start.
Cheers from Wisconsin
Very satisfying watching you spray the Rover. I'm sure Laura will be delighted. 😁😁
Did a sweet job on the Rover. The 1953 Olds is alive. Sounds pretty good. And it moves. Congratulations. Great looking old car. Will make a great project. Thank you for sharing!
💯👍👊
Good color choice for the Rover
Scott’s height is a definite advantage when painting the middle of the roof
Thumbs up for Scott`s niece that worked so hard behind the scenes to get the Rover painted. What a jewel she must be. :)
