I was skeptical at first, then I made this cake. OMG, this is one of the best chocolate cakes I have had in years. So moist, rich, utterly delightful. My version was a little eggy, which I did not mind at all, and instead of all that much sweetener in the frosting, I used a tiny bit of rose oil essence. Amazing! Thank you SO much!

So this recipe is absolutely amazing; however, as a baker who has moved to Keto, I’d like to share a couple of points. When making the batter, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to blend. Because almond flour is heavier than flour, let your beaters run for about 45 seconds to incorporate air into the batter. This will make the cake less dense and rose better. Also, you really should never hand mix your butter cream frosting, as you will never get air into it either. This is why the icing in the video is so dark and grainy. I cream my butter with the mixer, then add the remaining ingredients. I then use the mixer to slowly cream the frosting for about 15 minutes. The frosting will double in volume and have a creamier texture. Just some tips to make this more delicious. Also, if your cake comes out dry, you can make a simple syrup by simmering water and swerve in a small pan. Lightly spray or pour the simple syrup on the cake and let it absorb. This will moisten the cake; however, do not over spray or pour, as the crumb could collapse. I use 1/2 c. Swerve to 1/2 cup water and split it between layers. I put the first layer on the serving dish, add my simple syrup, then frosting, then I add the second layer, spray with syrup and then frost the entire cake. So delicious. Thanks for this recipe.
Lol i totally forgot to add 3 eggs but 2 eggs worked absolutely fine. The cake is a little bitter in taste you won't notice while eating, its after you swallow it. But i love this recipe and its healthy and i love it. Thank you Duff. I made this cake and I love it.

I made this batter and then made a cream cheese, butter, heavy whipping cream and cool whip icing. I turned mine into valentine's cupcakes and they're pretty great! Not the best keto cake recipe but close. I've had one with avocado in it and that actually keeps the cake moist. Thanks for the recipe tho!

I made this cake and icing today for my Dad's birthday. It's a big hit, I am totally making this again. I think I might pre-mix the dry ingredients so I have them ready to go. The icing recipe makes a huge amount, I have enough for another cake. I think I might make cupcakes...this reminds me of my Mom's chocolate cake, so I'm very happy!
Great recipe. I didn’t have almond flour so I use coconut. The batter was too thick so I thin out my batter w/ more of the milk. The frosting, instead of butter I use two cream cheese bricks w/ 2 tablespoon kerrygold butter and thin out w/ milk. I use only 1 1/2tablespoon of the cocoa. Look like milk chocolate.OMGOSHHHHH IT WAS SOOO GOODDD

I do not normally comment on you tube but this is great so can I confirm this105 CALORIES for the WHOLE cake? i have now made this 5 times dropping it off at my mothers. After looking after a 2 family members of 90 with dementia now 1 and all what that entails she was over eating staying up to early hours and was 200 over 95 on blood pressure so imminent for a stroke. After helping out as you do and finding keto, making her coconut bread among other things she has lost 2 stone, goes to bed early and actually sleeps. Her blood pressure is now normal and she has more energy, although i look to expand her keto food range keeping her interested. Soups/ turkey mince etc etc. i just have to thank people like yourself who take the time to make these videos. After being comforted by chocolate etc and then stopping due to seeing the doctor, her face when i gave her this was something very nice and very funny. so all i can say is THANK YOU and anyone else who helps those they do not know. My mum is 69, any extra time we get with the ones we love is special indeed. All the best.

I just celebrated my birthday this week and now I want to make a cake to share with friends and family this weekend. I've checked out about 20 other recipes, but I like yours the best. Wondering if I should double the recipe or 1.5x for a 9" spring form. Suggestions anyone?
Wow... last night i tried baking this cake and it turned out amazing the only issue I had was as you said in the note that if you don’t use coconut flour it will be very dry and because I didn’t have coconut flour so it actually turned dry but then I had a lot of chocolate frosting on top of it which made it a little moist and it tasted amazing I think this is the best keto cake I have ever tasted.. Made the cake Joe. Turned out great! Did the frosting on my last one using a keto cake mix. Tuned out ok. This one I used half a bag of Hershey’s sugar free chocolate chips and a table spoon and a half of coconut oil. Spreads easily a d tastes great. Thanks!

This cake is AWESOME!! My entire family want me to make it again, this time triple layered! My wife and I are on keto so it is great, especially for her as she has a far sweeter tooth than me! Easy cake, just had to adjust the confectioners erythritol for sweetness but the taste is DEATH BY CHOCOLATE! WOW!!
I have tried several keto choc cake recipes. So far this is the only one that had the texture of cake instead of brownie. Very happy with this recipe even though it's kind of a lot of ingredients. Would rather use all these ingredients and get something that actually tastes like cake then brownie. Also, the cake isn't super sweet, which I like, but if you like very sweet maybe add 25g more Swerve to cake mix as a trial/error idea. I did mine exactly as recipe and I used whipped cream topping because I don't like frosting (all frosting is too sweet for my taste), but I wonder if, with the frosting, it would make the cake taste sweeter? So if you are using frosting you may not need to make cake sweeter.

Not gonna lie, the first couple of days I did have 2 but after that, one piece after a meal was surprisingly enough. This cake was a huge hit with my husband too... always a good thing. :) For a special occasion I would make the whole frosting recipe but for me, half the icing was good enough for the cake. But I did add a generous scoop of organic whipped cream with a few raspberries. The flavours were so good together. Thank you Joe for making my new Keto journey fun and enjoyable!!!

The chocolate cake was soooo good, it tastes exactly like normal chocolate cake. I didn't like the frosting though, it seemed too bitter for me. I think my taste buds needed less cocoa, i also didn't use powered fake sugar i used regular granulated fake sugar so maybe that could had an effect on it. I do have some stevia chocolate chips so maybe i'll melt that and use it as a frosting.

I just made this and i made a mistake. i accidentally measured the cocoa powder as the sweetener. I was wondering why there was too much cocoa powder and i almost finished my tin. bwahahahahahaha anyway, i adjusted it a bit and added some psyllium husk as well and i substituted the almond milk to full cream milk since i didn't have any. turned out really good. :D like an oreo cookie!:D no eggy taste, it smelled like real cake because of the baking soda and baking powder. i'm definitelyl making this again but next time i'll be careful with my measurements and perhaps ill do a sponge cake with the same recipe. Aftertaste bitterness often comes from sweeteners. Try experimenting with different ones or use less if you don't need it as sweet :)

Great cake. One tip: 3:35 use mixer again to mix the ingredients for the frosting, don't use just spatula, because the mixture won't be as creamy.

This cake is AWESOME!! My entire family want me to make it again, this time triple layered! My wife and I are on keto so it is great, especially for her as she has a far sweeter tooth than me! Easy cake, just had to adjust the confectioners erythritol for sweetness but the taste is DEATH BY CHOCOLATE! WOW!!

I have tried several keto choc cake recipes. So far this is the only one that had the texture of cake instead of brownie. Very happy with this recipe even though it's kind of a lot of ingredients. Would rather use all these ingredients and get something that actually tastes like cake then brownie.
Also, the cake isn't super sweet, which I like, but if you like very sweet maybe add 25g more Swerve to cake mix as a trial/error idea. I did mine exactly as recipe and I used whipped cream topping because I don't like frosting (all frosting is too sweet for my taste), but I wonder if, with the frosting, it would make the cake taste sweeter? So if you are using frosting you may not need to make cake sweeter.
A++ amazing. Could not taste any fake sugar at all. I divided frosting recipe by 1/4 and it made more than enough.

Today is my birtday! I did this cake. It is an amazing recipe.Nobody believed it is a keto cake. I love this guy's recipe videos and subscribed them cause measurements of ingredients are accurate to get perfect results.
Oooowy little advice from me for frosting be patient and mixed it with hand mixer a little longer to make it really creamy and I mixed a little lemon zeist to give it Orange chocolate flavour😍 Thank you very much Joe !👍🎂🙏😍

👍🤩🤩🤩This cake is *delicious, decadent, and super yummy!!!* Only 1/16 is one serving? Not gonna lie, the first couple of days I did have 2 but after that, one piece after a meal was surprisingly enough. This cake was a huge hit with my husband too... always a good thing. :)
For a special occasion I would make the whole frosting recipe but for me, half the icing was good enough for the cake. But I did add a generous scoop of organic whipped cream with a few raspberries. The flavours were so good together.

@@inflixo36 I saw on the back of the flour bag it had 5 carbs..who know how many tablespoons that was lol.. chocolate had none. Sweeter didnt either

This cake is delicious! I made a keto cream cheese chocolate frosting!
The chocolate cake was soooo good, it tastes exactly like normal chocolate cake. I didn't like the frosting though, it seemed too bitter for me. I think my taste buds needed less cocoa, i also didn't use powered fake sugar i used regular granulated fake sugar so maybe that could had an effect on it. I do have some stevia chocolate chips so maybe i'll melt that and use it as a frosting.
I really like your videos!!! I was looking at your recipe and your T is capitalize for baking powder and baking soda to me that means tablespoon small t for tsp. Your recipes are awesome though! Keep up the good recipes! 🧡

I just made this and i made a mistake. i accidentally measured the cocoa powder as the sweetener. I was wondering why there was too much cocoa powder and i almost finished my tin. bwahahahahahaha anyway, i adjusted it a bit and added some psyllium husk as well and i substituted the almond milk to full cream milk since i didn't have any. turned out really good. :D like an oreo cookie!:D no eggy taste, it smelled like real cake because of the baking soda and baking powder. i'm definitelyl making this again but next time i'll be careful with my measurements and perhaps ill do a sponge cake with the same recipe.
