    I was a salesman at a Verizon store for about 5 years and in my experience the ZFolds were almost exclusively used by people who ran multiple small businesses and realtors. I was in a relatively small town, but we sold maybe 25 between the Fold and the Fold4

    Pretty much every TH-camr that mocked the black Oneplus Open missed the point. That fake leather is emulating the look of old analog cameras.

Time will show the durability but OnePlus will definitly take care of the consumers. Big Respect to OPPO/OnePlus. Thanks for the Video.

      "However, the company chose to omit mentions of it for its launch event, citing on-stage time constraints." Imagine having a phone so good that you literally don't have time to talk about pen support 😀

    A foldable will never be the same price as the regular flagship cause it has more parts. If you have the same processor and camera and whatever on both phones, you have to pay for an additional screen, an addition internal camera, and the whole hinge assembly that you don’t have to pay for on the flagship.

    200$ credit for any trade in phone is a masterstroke from OnePlus! Someone with an old phone would be inclined to think of trading in a very basic phone (for 200$) and getting a modern phone for 1500$! No one else would give them 200$ for their old phone!!

    Well, here in EU the Iphone 15 Pro 512GB is almost 1600. Oneplus open is 1900 with 250e off coupon + free wireless headphones. So basically 1650. One way to look at it. Of course you can now get a z fold 5 for like 1200?
    The problem is that you can get your Apple or Samsung fixed in no time. And that's even more important with a folding phone. A friend had z flip 4 with a peeling screen protector. It was fixed quickly at the Samsung store while going for a coffee...

    The fact that Samsung already have 5 versions of this foldable and looks outdated compared to OnePlus' First foldable makes it awesome on the first try. I don't care if it's Oppo and "debatable first". These guys are just nit-picking on that "dead pixel" they mentioned. Well, OnePlus have the Care program just like Apple. OnePlus also has instant replacement service. You can definitely tell bias when you see one. (Face-palm) i hope it's "respectful enough".

    • @pkpnyt4711
      @pkpnyt4711 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      It's a literal bait and switch job. The Oppo Find N3 (4th foldable from Oppo) is literally what this phone is. They literally just replaced Oppo's name on the phone with 1Plus and placed Hasselblad on the camera. The specs and everything is literally the same from the hardware side and almost all of the software. It's not even debatable, it's a fact. Also having a dead pixel within 1 week isn't nitpicking. They do the same for every phone, when the 1st gen Fold had a dead pixel in the first week, people "nit-picked" it too. 1Plus doesn't have the same care as Apple. Have you seen all the problems their care has? They literally have been denying warranty claims (Google it and you'll see thousands of complaints) due to shipping damage even when people who sent it had pictures before sending them out. The only thing 1Plus has been good is their cheap repair program for their low and mid-end phones, warranty is laughable. It's not bias, it's fact. Also when the 1Plus comes out it will only be sold by Best Buy and another store. They have no physical stores in the US and have no parts warehouse as well. How will they replace the 1Plus Open instantly when they don't have the infrastructure to support it?

      @@pkpnyt4711 my point is, this is a good foldable to date. I have an iPhone 12 and was planning to upgrade to a 15 this year but i held off because i didn't feel the need coz there's nothing revolutionary on iPhones right now. IL keep my 12 coz im wearing an AW ultra. There are other foldables out there but with Chinese rom, Honor Magic V2 comes to mind and also the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3. If im going to make a jump to foldables this OnePlus' Open/Oppo with global ROM is my best bet with google services working out of the box. It's really a gamble with technology and they become obsolete real fast. Another point is, more choices foldable or not is supposed to be good to the consumer. Im not a fanboy of any brand like Samsung or Apple but im pretty sure it's good to have choices and whatever i "like" doesn't mean anybody should like too. Speaking of hardware and battery capacity, soon it will be the snapdragon gen 3 and people will say that the gen 2 is and older hardware while still capable. Batteries will be bigger too prolly 5K mah standard or more. It's just technology.

      So basically since OnePlus didn't rebrand and release the previous Oppo Find N series phones, they don't count as previous foldables all of the sudden? That's an extremely stupid take. It's literally the same phone as the Find N3. Oppo/OnePlus are a part of the same company. Still even so, it took them less generations than Samsung regardless so idk why you are making a fuss over it not being labeled as 1st gen. By that logic, if Samsung Electronics makes a sub brand next year and that sub brand rebrands the Fold 6, then it becomes a 1st gen device in your eyes 😂

    Maybe midrange foldables could become a thing and therefore compete with flagship "normal" phones. This is the when people have to decide between specs and form factor. The really interesting question is: what do people want from their phone? Camera? Screen real estate? Battery life? Good value?
    Maybe the dead pixels are just bad luck in this case. No TH-camr that I know had sth comparable. In recent years I had as well many flagships that had some problems, for example Huawei mate 20 pro dead pixels.

    I feel like more than the price , it's because foldables feel like more of a "cool to have " things rather than " this is a very good phone". A decently large proportion of people in India buy iPhone pro models at 1700 USD . If these foldables had better software & were less prone to become faulty so easily with their fragile plastic screen and hinge issues, more people would consider it imo.

I've grown to like the smaller outer screen form factor and the fact that when it's open it's not as square as Open is. With all that said, I really hope Samsung makes the 6 wider. I'm not holding my breath, but would be nice.

    Material costs are a small part of the cost of these devices. Its mostly development, R&D, and manufacturing efficiency. If the demand for folding phones stays solid (good luck) its feasible that the cost to produce between folding and non-folding phones would be minimal (~$100-$200)

I think the finger nail warning is more for people who are jamming their fingertips at the screen with longish nails

    After having used the Z Fold5, I actually like the narrow outer screen on Samsung Folds - it's a way to reduce/be conscious of phone usage like you can with a flip phone. The outer screen does take some getting used to, but you literally always have the option of opening the phone when you want more screen real estate.

    • @gokuafrica
      @gokuafrica 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't mind the outer screen on samsung. What I hate is the ugly crease on the glossy inner screen. That's why I never bought it. Even with TH-cam running, I could always see the crease when using the phone in samsung stores. They have these bright lights that make the crease so goddamn obvious and thus the experience of the inner display is not seamless.

    • @joelconolly5574
      @joelconolly5574 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I usually think that the only reason the outer is narrower is because Samsung wants you to subconsciously or consciously use the inner more. Though I think it's admirable, it's not really the best mentality for that considering the inner flaws.
