212% is a great increase. How many sales did they have last year? Because 212,000 is 212% more than 100,000. So that’s not actually super impressive. It also can’t be top 3 because the cameras are awful compared to the 24 Ultra, 16 pro max and Pixel 9 pro

I’m also a calendar and todo app obsessive, yet I almost never try to replace Google Calendar. I have everything color coded and organized there and I actually like how it looks. About VR movement, the best and most natual I've experienced is what's used in the game Hotdogs Horseshoes and Hand Grenades where to move you have to swing your arms like you would as if you're running in place, to go faster you just swing your arms faster. At which point will you guys make HDR content then? Are you waiting for majority to have access to HDR screens? Do you monitor devices on which your vids are watched?
26:23 - DOMED OR BOWLED FLOOR? Andrew describes a type of 'VR navigation floor' as a 'dome'. A 'dome' suggests a convex structure (bulges outwards i.e. a blister), whereas the structure for the 'walkable' surface you're describing is actually 'concave' (bowl-shaped i.e. a crater) and therefore not a dome.
You say it’s not much to talk about with the OnePlus 12 about the improvements but the s24u is basically the same as the s22u but with google ai features that’s gonna come to most android phones in the future.
One of the biggest if not the biggest benefit of better/newer screens is (or should be?) the lower power consumption, but this only works well when we can control the (auto) brightness better. Because new screens use less power at the same brightness as older, and if you are outside, lets say at about 900 nits, and compare different Screens, theres a big difference in power consumption (maybe one uses 2.5w and the other one 4, which is alot.)
I just had a cold. I just used it without the drop and gave me my temperature from the couch and then I went to the bathroom and checked it and it was very similar. So when you don't want to go to the bathroom you can have your phone just do your temperature for you. But you're not feeling well. It's great! It's free. It's a feature. It's fabulous. We all get sick every once in awhile
37:01 I'll miss the sleek design of edged screens. The Samsung edge lighting adds a stylish touch when the screen is facing down, making it convenient to be aware of notifications or calls without having to lift the phone in silent mode.
After his OnePlus 11 review, OnePlus 12 basically improved on all things he wanted. It absolutely deserves a review. I wonder why he kinda brushes it off?... It's just odd. It undercuts the competition by a decent amount.
Bro ain't no way marques reviewed the OnePlus 10 pro and every other bad OnePlus phone and he is not going to review the OnePlus 12 which is a great phone
I don't get why you're not reviewing the Oneplus 12. You've done reviews where you've said before this is the same phone compared to last year but better, why can't you give your thoughts on things like the camera? Just a little confused that's all.
fun fact, on every android phone I've seen the settings have a toggle to turn off the auto brightness that HDR highjacks. and frankly that makes so much more sense to me than having apps add a button for it or whatever. It should be handled the same way screen rotation is... some people will always lock it other's never and some occasionally use both.
On the subject of HDR content in Instagram I agree. However ever since I experienced it on my Pixel 8 Pro with photos and videos I have to say it looks amazing. It adds a layer of realism to pictures and videos. For example, I recently took a picture of my car with the headlights on during the day. The way it's displayed on screen makes the headlights much brighter and way more realistic. Same thing with a recent video at night while BBQing. The flames looked incredible in the video. I think it's a matter of implementation that's holding it back. In Instagram, HDR video looks bad as it seems to brighten the entire video and not just the highlights (or things that should be that bright in the video). In Google Photos I think it looks amazing.
It feels wrong not to do a One Plus 12 review. Yes I get that part, where you used the octopus analogy on the video about quitting TH-cam:, but this is ONEPLUS. Unless of course there are things that have spilled over between MKBHD and one plus. It is something I can't wrap my head around. 😢😢😢😢

If Marques ever started a cooking channel, he'd probably call it 'Byte-sized Bites' 🍔🤖
David keepin the streak alive of getting a trivia question wrong then immediately saying "I knew that!" 😂
I was doubting myself if it was indeed "on the go" because of your answers😅
26:23 - DOMED OR BOWLED FLOOR? Andrew describes a type of 'VR navigation floor' as a 'dome'.
A 'dome' suggests a convex structure (bulges outwards i.e. a blister), whereas the structure for the 'walkable' surface you're describing is actually 'concave' (bowl-shaped i.e. a crater) and therefore not a dome.
You say it’s not much to talk about with the OnePlus 12 about the improvements but the s24u is basically the same as the s22u but with google ai features that’s gonna come to most android phones in the future.
Just found out the photomoji can be used as a reaction... Epic.
The visor of the Pixel 9 renders looks to me almost like the one of the Pixel fold. I'd like it!
This podcast has become a thing that I do look forward for every week!
Since this comes out on Friday Morning, I get paid to see this every Friday
MKBHD's thumbnails are so crisp, even my grandma thought they were printed on her new 4K TV. 🖼👵
One of the biggest if not the biggest benefit of better/newer screens is (or should be?) the lower power consumption, but this only works well when we can control the (auto) brightness
better.
Because new screens use less power at the same brightness as older, and if you are outside, lets say at about 900 nits, and compare different Screens,
theres a big difference in power consumption (maybe one uses 2.5w and the other one 4, which is alot.)
These guys still have a single mic. But don't change that, that's fun
David, while not knowing the trivia answer: "I knew that!"
I answered OTG as On The Go 👍🏽
I just had a cold. We all get sick every once in awhile
first time i knew the answer to both the trivia questions i was so excited to see what y'all would guess
1:07:38 thats gonna take David a while to recover😂😂
Glossing over the oneplus12 that can hang with (if not out perform)the pricier flagships (at least by the numbers) is wild. Review it please 😊
Bro ain't no way marques reviewed the OnePlus 10 pro and every other bad OnePlus phone and he is not going to review the OnePlus 12 which is a great phone
It wasn't circular, but the pixel fold also had a secluded camera island rather than folding into the sides.
david is a gigachad for roasting the instagram HDR thing
I don't get why you're not reviewing the Oneplus 12. You've done reviews where you've said before this is the same phone compared to last year but better, why can't you give your thoughts on things like the camera? Just a little confused that's all.
every Friday I listen to the pod earlier and then watch it here for the visuals
We here! Great start to the last day of the work week!
fun fact, on every android phone I've seen the settings have a toggle to turn off the auto brightness that HDR highjacks.
and frankly that makes so much more sense to me than having apps add a button for it or whatever.
It should be handled the same way screen rotation is... some people will always lock it other's never and some occasionally use both.
Listening to this podcast is like a therapy for me. After a busy week this is so smooth for my brain. Thank you guys ❤
If not a review, at least a short form video quick review for OnePlus 12
It's pretty funny that I'm watching this intro while walking to an Amie community event in my city 😄
I am also a Calender sicko who really enjoys those segments
Saturday mornings here in Australia are mint with this podcast!
