Pusher Terrence honestly Rec room is filled with children. Which is different than ps home. I remember being in a “fam” and dissing other “fams”... man were those the days.
It was the perfect place to chill when you were bored of games. They slowly updated it and made it better and better. It got so big it felt like it's own game. They made millions, because even I spent money on some of the accessories. Playing chess, playing pool, bowling, and that was just the tip of the iceberg. I don't know why they abandoned it. Where PS Home was free and could be downloaded on every PS3 it was different. It was advertised to every PS3 owner on the main menu so it had a ton of regular people hopping on whenever they were bored with whatever games they owned.
This game was just ahead of its time. Stuff like VRchat, Rec Room, and so much more are popular now thanks to VR, adding a new level of social interaction.
I think this was ahead of it's time honestly. If this were to come back...it'd be HUGE if corrected and updated. EDIT: So this is what it feels like to have over 10 likes on a comment 😁 thanks guys!👍
I miss this period of gaming too, there was a special feeling that about that 07-2011 era that was so special. Buying furniture and hanging out at special areas and just winding down on this after a long session on LittleBigPlanet…
Much of this is just because of nostalgia. You could make the argument games today are just money oriented and its true, but i imagine if we were still teens today, we would still dig the AAA Market nowadays. We would still play fortnite, the newest call of duty and have similiar fun times as we had back then. When you grow older, your perception simply changes. When you were younger, everything was new and exciting. Now youve seen it all and it became stale. Its just how it goes.
Go look up Avilife, it's suppose to be the new ps home buy they cancelled due to the Kickstarter failing.. Just look at itttt it's literal ps home creators... Please fund this game, get the Kickstarter going.... 💔
I was on the last 24 hours when the game shut down, i remember all the avatars were saying “goodbye PSN home” and what not. such good times on this amazing social game..
I spent a fortune over the years on ps home but was devastated not because all that money was for nothing but because it was shutting down...I remember that very moment it shut down and feeling like literally a part of me was gone in that moment...I sat there almost as if I was in shock or it just didn't register.. I'd love if they brought ps home back
Yess. Heart break, allot of my ps home friends stopped playing Playstation & have gotten married or had kids & lost contact with quiet a few of my closest ps home friends
Almost all my buddies don’t play anymore. I have great memories with my buddies just playing match after match until we had to get some sleep. I miss them a lot. I’m talking about ps4 though
PS Home was the Online Sims, that was changing every month until Sony stop supporting it, the only thing that was holding it back was the Hardware, it took really long to load the maps but when it did it was really fun, especially the bowling area with pool tables.
@@brandonbarnes8997 Yeah agree, the ps3 wasn't powerful enough to run, maybe the ps4 would of been better but they would of added more content then it would be slow again, the ps5 is probably the better place to Run because of the hardware is way more faster with its loading speed. Sony problems is that they seem to release stuff to early, like hardware and then try to fix it though software (ps5 is going to be an awesome console), maybe they could make a PS Home 2 but doubt it.) But least Sony takes risks tho and when they pay off, its awesome 😀 Ps4 is still an awesome console I don't really like pc gaming cause if something break I find it hard to fix the problem with consoles its pretty much just plug and play.
@@WilsonFox123 I dont mean to be rude, but u sound like someone that doesn't know what they are talking about. Consoles can fix loading times by investing in ssd instead of hdd amongst other things. Pc gaming u literally turn on ur computer and then click on the game and ur playing... how is that hard. Things dont just go bad. I have owned a gaming pc for 3 years and have never ran into a problem except a freezing game which happens on consoles too. Consoles are still PCs except with limitations. Ur just buying a shit version of a pc with limitations and no freedom and less of a game selection. There was a hub on Home when I was a kid that showed a maze in a scary theme. I spent hours failing it and finally a user lead me to the ending and we were teleported to a secret party room with a crazy floor and tons of other users. We all had so much fun chatting in the room and laughing at users who couldn't get in. The tree right outside you could glitch walk up it and teleport into the jail where people would pass by and ask how to get in there. I even found a glitch on a old promotional hub that you could use the grim reaper avatar to glide through the wall after sitting on a bench and you could get behind a counter and act like you worked there while 30+ people were gathering around asking how the hell you got back there. Some girl who was back there was making sure nobody was uploading tutorials on TH-cam for it so it could be kept a secret. I miss the game so much.
Yup lol, Burn Zombie Burn and Siren Lounge: Ward of Despair. There was always that guy wearing the Pyramid head costume sitting in the seats by the wall. If you didn’t have that costume you would have to sit in the chair get up dance and then hurry up and try to glitch walk on it. Good times😢
"We all had so much fun chatting in the room and laughing at users who couldn't get in." If it wasn't for that kind user who helped show you the way, you would've still been laughed at to this day.
I remember getting my PS3 on Halloween 2009. I didn’t get any game with it cause my immigrant parents believed it came with a game 😂. I was just happy to have the console. I was happy to play demos all day anyway. So I was updating the console and everything and I see this thing called PS HOME. Downloaded and installed it. Holy shit was I mind blown
PS5 could bring home to where it should have been. With the ssd and improved graphics, better content and custom avatars. Home was a great experience, but 2020-2021 it would be better.

PS Home was way ahead of its time, and it took a long time to do things well. But it was a fantastic free product. I wish it was brought over to PS4. SONY really blew it by abandoning it. They had something special and when it was reaching its potential, they let it die. The main reason it was a shore and hard to keep using it, was that it just had so many loading screens and traveling through sections was slow. I loved playing Chess and pool. They finally started having worth while mini games, seasonal themes/events and activities years later, and some were neat. Home was becoming a real fulling service. But SONY just abandon it. I was never that social or ever play any of these type of games, Second life, the SIMS, etc. But I liked HOME and met a few people that became my top friends on my Friends list that i would play games with. HOME should have came to the PS4
@PlayStationfanview how is it too late? Just turn the servers on and patch it to the PS5. It would run way better and that it could ever run on the PS3. Loading times and server capacity would be extremely better. Frame rate and people skipping wouldnt happen. Thing loading in and playing in the back groung would just be seemless.
Also launching a game that was usually on disc back then - you had to know that game was being played, (went to that games room). But now with more and more digital games, i think launching games would be smoother etc. Party chat working better. etc.

PSH is the most fun game I've ever played. It was so easy to meet new people and there was so much to do together, so many different spaces and games. I would give anything to go back to that time, be able to log in and meet all the friends I made and just have fun together again
@@AsherNebulus i guess you didnt really get the point of the video, to recap, the point was, the idea seemed weird to devs, so they had to change it, and change the simple looking people and make them much more realistic, then when it was supposed to launch, someone got fired and the launch was delayed another year, then when released it was barren as much of the content to be promised within was simply not there at launch, and that on top of framerate issues and glitches made the launch itself terrible, then because the dev team became a dumpster fire, they could barely add anything and it was a bit too late anyway and overall it just became a small social space like in destiny... but as its own game. it got some support from 3rd party developers but the game was already dead and it didnt get the triple A support it needed as well as the funding it needed and the layoffs to actually get home to where it was supposed to be, altho there were some people that were huge fans of PlayStation Home (as all things have some huge fans) most people were disappointed and didnt care about the app and just ignored it... and finally as the playerbase seemed to dwindle more and more, they shut down the servers in 2015. the funding problem was sonys fault and the devs couldnt have done anything to save it :/ as much as i liked PlayStation Home, i understand what happened and that the servers had to be shut down, but it was a sad day nonetheless...

Because me and a close friend of mine that I’ve known for 20 years that I used to live with for a handful of years as well before I moved out onto my own own, me and him for at least a good 7 to 8 years at least, were bowlers, we probably still have it in us to bowl, like getting back out onto the lanes with the balls that we still have the bowl with, but me and him every now and then used to spend time going on the home and just going straight to the bowling alley and trying to perfect timing and the gauge in order to hit the comma pocket as they called it in bowling, and just enjoy bowling in the bowling alley, at least when I was visiting him at his parents house when he still lived there, and we’d hang out in his room for quite a while, just hoping that there was an open lane and me and him would set ourselves up, and just bowl game after game after game after game, for a while and just enjoy it. I myself had a really nice apartment type place, and besides the items you could wear that you won through like the game trophies, I myself ended up buying personalized items overtime for my apartment I believe it was that I owned on there, but yeah, I ended up buying some of my own things as well too.

I don’t think it’s coming to PS5. I could be extremely wrong on that but it doesn’t seems like Sony wants to bring this back. Even if they bring it back, the game will have tons and tons more of microtransactions than the original. I would still play it of course, it gotta be better than the Atom-Universe-Nebula-Realm-whatever it’s called on the PS4, it’s sooooo shitty.

Pusher Terrence honestly Rec room is filled with children. Which is different than ps home. I remember being in a “fam” and dissing other “fams”... man were those the days.

Hung out there quite a bit. Think I eben watched a couple of Sony conferences on there as well.
Would be nice to see it come back for PS5, because gaming is getting more and more social. Would be nice to also make it compatible with VR.

This game was just ahead of its time. Stuff like VRchat, Rec Room, and so much more are popular now thanks to VR, adding a new level of social interaction.

PS Home was the Online Sims, that was changing every month until Sony stop supporting it, the only thing that was holding it back was the Hardware, it took really long to load the maps but when it did it was really fun, especially the bowling area with pool tables.
That's the problem with consoles.
@@brandonbarnes8997 Yeah agree, the ps3 wasn't powerful enough to run, maybe the ps4 would of been better but they would of added more content then it would be slow again, the ps5 is probably the better place to Run because of the hardware is way more faster with its loading speed.
Sony problems is that they seem to release stuff to early, like hardware and then try to fix it though software (ps5 is going to be an awesome console), maybe they could make a PS Home 2 but doubt it.)
But least Sony takes risks tho and when they pay off, its awesome 😀
Ps4 is still an awesome console

@@WilsonFox123 I dont mean to be rude, but u sound like someone that doesn't know what they are talking about. Consoles can fix loading times by investing in ssd instead of hdd amongst other things. I have owned a gaming pc for 3 years and have never ran into a problem except a freezing game which happens on consoles too. Consoles are still PCs except with limitations.

Agreed.
Plus there is no way it would be free now. Maybe with PS+ subscription?
Also launching a game that was usually on disc back then - you had to know that game was being played, (went to that games room). But now with more and more digital games, i think launching games would be smoother etc. Party chat working better. etc.

I have A high end Gaming PC ,but if sony would surprise us in the future, i would buy a PS5 Just for that
There's a great value version on the ps4 called atom universe
PSH is the most fun game I've ever played. It was so easy to meet new people and there was so much to do together, so many different spaces and games. It meant a lot to me because during that time of my life I was bullied a lot irl and had no friends, it made my day being able to come home and play with the friends I made on PSH and have so much fun together playing and doing all kinds of different things, it was a distraction from my real life that meant everything to me and always will. I would give anything to go back to that time, be able to log in and meet all the friends I made and just have fun together again
The fact that Home got a hardcore following and made money for people, doesn't sound like a "failure" to me.
it had a lot of messups tho (i wish we'd get a sequel tho for PS5)
@miguel ornelas yeah same, but if they make Home 2? damn son, i'll be excited
Andy Hughes it’s just more TH-cam clickbait is all
@@AsherNebulus i guess you didnt really get the point of the video, to recap, the point was, the idea seemed weird to devs, so they had to change it, and change the simple looking people and make them much more realistic, then when it was supposed to launch, someone got fired and the launch was delayed another year, then when released it was barren as much of the content to be promised within was simply not there at launch, and that on top of framerate issues and glitches made the launch itself terrible, then because the dev team became a dumpster fire, they could barely add anything and it was a bit too late anyway and overall it just became a small social space like in destiny... but as its own game. it got some support from 3rd party developers but the game was already dead and it didnt get the triple A support it needed as well as the funding it needed and the layoffs to actually get home to where it was supposed to be, altho there were some people that were huge fans of PlayStation Home (as all things have some huge fans) most people were disappointed and didnt care about the app and just ignored it... and finally as the playerbase seemed to dwindle more and more, they shut down the servers in 2015. the funding problem was sonys fault and the devs couldnt have done anything to save it :/ as much as i liked PlayStation Home, i understand what happened and that the servers had to be shut down, but it was a sad day nonetheless...
@@bizzzzzzle i feel like everyone here listened and didnt care because they liked PlayStation Home or something -_- guess what dude, i liked it too, i thought it was an awesome app but it most definitely did fail and if you watched the video and checked the facts, (altho some might be hard to come by as sony tried to cover parts of it up) you'd definitely be able to tell that with all its problems, this app did fail...
I cried the moment this popped up in my recommended. When home didn't feel home I played playstation home.
Jess Same
A tad overdramatic
@@bone3013 sure
Yooo man nebula realms is exactly the same
Now as ps home im gonna download it to experience some nostalgia pretty sure not gonna buy some skins (although i do have some extra cash in wallet) literally has the same hub as ps home im gonna download it now
that’s pretty cringe bro
I miss finding glitches in the worlds and going to areas not meant to be seen
Long live the greatness that was PS HOME.....I met my man on PS Home and we've been together almost 2 decades now I will never forget the memories or the friends I made who are actually still my friends to this day
Home was amazing. Such a shame it's gone. The bowling alley and the theatre were my go to hang out spots haha
The playground & trying to figure out the glitches
I liked being a blonde girl at x7 while taunting at the uglies who couldn't get in. LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO
Its back Sorta while not the same just seek out Destination Home :)
@@Boarder4892 that's really cool, thanks for sharing
This, this was one of the most important games in my life and it wasn't even a game. It was a UI, remember talking to my mate who I've not seen in 3+ years. Good times.
Need another “Failure” like this in my life the stuff they gave us on ps4 isn’t as appealing to me.
EXACTLY
This is so True idc about the issues
OMG THATS ME @19:33
Thank you for including me in this video! I miss PS Home so much.
The coolest thing about home was walking through Sony’s E3 2010 booth. I wish we could still have something like this
I wish they could bring ps home back on PS4
@Athena Watts 😂😂😂😂
@Shalashaska Won't happen or even come to ps5
@@MrDeny44 Shut up
@Athena Watts same
I don’t think it’s coming to PS5.
I remember wearing my infamous Cole jacket chilin in star wars cantina
Same
Your a fucking legend I can't believe you remember that.
Nameless Nation real shit
Oh yeah, that's the life
YOO YEAH SAME 100%
They really should take consideration of adding PlayStation home on PlayStation in 2021. This will make a big spike no doubt.
They renewed the license apparently
@@Rizzbulla Clearly there something happened with home
I lied about my age to some girl saying I was 21 when I was actually like 9 and I had my first online girlfriend
I think alot people did that. 😅
LMFAO
Oh my god same. I think I was like 7 and I told the people that I'm 18
Plot twist 1: the girl lied to you about her age saying she was 21 when she was actually like 9 yo. :P
Plot twist 2: the girl lied to you about her age and gender and was in reallity a 60 yo fat, bald and stinking guy. :D
Same I first started playing when I was 7 back in 2010 😂 and my age kept changing
I played ps home from release until it closed , I would even make different region psn accounts to see the different places that were available in those countries
I miss this. Literally multiplayer sims and it was the greatest thing. I miss everyone on there
I'll never forget my family I had there. Hope they're doing well wherever they are..🙏
we all had a relationship on playstation home
I remember the chrome avatars fucking everyone had haha
Good times
nah actually not me . very sad
I miss it. Was fun to go in there and explore and stuff when there was nothing to play.
Ps home for life 👍👍🐯
Not really. It was pretty lame tbh. Just a bunch of losers hitting up female avatars lmfao. That's why Sony pulled the plug on it.
Yo I think the last time I can remember playing was during the Doctor Who event. Where you could go into a mini game where you had to fight Daleks n shit it was tight as hell.
i convinced a guy on Playstation Home that i was Taylor Swift. lol im a guy
Hold up, someone commented above that they were tricked by someone as they said they were Taylor Swift... could it be?
huh
Krager omg yes wtf 😂 could it be?? xD
@@kaiolsen8425 he saw that comment, that's why he posted this.
Giovanni Rosado yeah I know, hoping it would be that 1 in a million chance
I was one of those who booted up Home a few times then abandoned it. I wasn't a fan at all. But the preservationist in me is disappointing that it has gone forever.
Best 'thing' that PlayStation ever did, PlayStation Home 💙
Now is Gone is making sony look bad
People loses lot of money and have good time playing PS Home
Playstation vue is useless unless you in USA servers
Meaning you have to join sony network with a usa account to used it
ps plus is really slow they say my network speed too slow when no one using the network
and a tablet able to go to sites no slow down barely
sony did not give anything when people loses
@@Stormlywing here's the thing. People who spent money there were not entitled to a refund.
@@yerlocalpeanutdealer795 Ikr? Like I don't get it when people are demanding a refund.
I miss it. It was fun especially on seasonal events and new game launches.
Yeah i remember it snowing in PS home during the winter on it
I was so small when I last saw the words 'playstation home' in PS3.. That's PS and my childhood, almost synonymous... Ahh....Memories....
Same :(
Same. Makes me teary eyed.
Same
Me too. It was awesome
Shin Chan Nohara bruh can you tell me where to get crayon shin chan subs early seasons? Lol
PlayStation Home is truly something that comes once in a lifetime experience. The social interaction in a whole virtual world. I never seen anything quite like it back then. I was probably one of the youngest kids on there. Talking to people that were all older than me, haha. The great memories, and meeting many people. I’ll never forget those times, the pure nostalgia.. Maybe one day there will be a resurrection for it.
