I wish the game industry made more docs like this. I love that Microsoft was willing to poke fun at their missteps. Playing my series X today it’s crazy to think how many things had to align in order to get to today.
This new team led by Phil Spencer has done some amazing things for Xbox, but doing them required admission of past mistakes. Still, it takes courage to talk about them openly.

I love these kind of behind the scenes looks at things, especially when they show warts and all. It's crazy how many things nearly torpedoed the whole effort form the start.

Every day I’m thankful these guys created Xbox, it created so many memories and friendships with people I never met. I pray Xbox will be around even the day I’m an old man so I can one day look back my old achievements and friends list and remember all the good times. Video games were and always will be an important part of my life.
Excellent documentary charting the birth of an icon, also surprising and refreshingly honest about some of the attitudes, approaches, and mistakes at the time. Looking forward to seeing the rest!

Kind of surreal seeing how much of their original ideas from the start are here now and stronger than ever in the present day. I guess we will see what happened that Don Mattrick changed the direction the way he did but....it seems clear as day now that Phil really did do his part(as did others) to get the current ship to align with the original. Can't wait to watch the rest of these.
I think DirectX were among of the best team at Microsoft, I was reading about it since I was at college studying computer science, kudos to all these brilliant minds who brought joy to our life, I love you all.

Almost died with the Xbox One until Phil Spencer saved us starting with back compatibility and Xbox One X and then to Game Pass and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
These are the types of documentaries that always stand out. The ones where you feel like you were there every step of the way. The ones that take memories of the mass public and fill in the gaps.

I still remember the Christmas I received the first Xbox and truly was the beginning of my love for xbox and video games. Even through the red rings on the 360s and watching the first chapter made me even more appreciative of the role xbox payed in my life ! Congrats on the 20 years and thank you for the ride!

I remember growing up, all my friends had the ps2. i wanted to be different so i went with the original xbox. and it did not disappoint. playing games like nfl fever, halo, advent rising. awesome days. and i could burn music to my hard drive. unheard of at the time.

Genuinely I feel so lucky to have been growing up when XBOX360 hit the market for the first time. The first time I ever played online with other people it absolutely blew my mind. The first game I ever played online was Gears of War and that was only campaign.
I remember talking to someone from the USA for the first time and he was "explaining" how xbox live worked to me. Granted I was 10-11 at the time so I was eating the experience up like chocolate cake

Excellent documentary! Wow, I remember working all year to earn enough money to grab the original Xbox at launch. All those hours playing Halo, Oddworld, KOTOR, and so many other games with friends into the early hours of the morning. Here I am now in my 30's watching Microsoft blast off into the next generation still happily gaming. Thanks for all of the memories!

Words cannot describe how I feel when I watch this, I lived and grew up through all of this. Bought my Original Xbox at 18 and from there it's been nothing but awesome experiences I wouldn't trade for all the $ in the entire world. I owned every console and got my Series-X this past summer and I LOVE IT! ❤
We all know who won but I had chills, I was rooting for the Direct X team so hard in this video.

Quite an interesting doc, but these animations and some direction&editing choices are very funny in an unintended way.
Fantastic Documentary!! Worth it to anybody that likes games/computers/tech in general. The first xbox was so amazing! Loved ripping cd's to the hard drive and having games even interact and control the music like Need For Speed.
