    My favorite trim level is premium with cold weather package.
    I think it gives the best bang for buck without stepping into the sport package.
    that price difference is like getting one year or mores worth of insurance.
    17 inch tires tend to be less expensive and give slightly softer ride and bump shock.

      @@freeyourmind5218 1. Bearing - solved at a local workshop for USD60 each;
      2. Premature engine oil change - solved by changing to thicker engine oil; and
      3. Air conditioning - changed the compressor for USD250;
      All the above happened as the car reached 150k km and after I drove it straight from KL to Bangkok and back. It took me a while to find a good mechanic but the ones who I found later on are way more experienced and reliable than those at the Subaru Service Centre and they charge 50% less. In all except for the above minor probs, the car runs way smoother and with confidence compared to my Honda at the same mileage. It still feels like it’s at 50k km when it’s already 280k. In the long run I think Subaru give better value than any other brands in its class.

    I get that you can swap headlights, anyone who has done so will tell you most factory LEDs outperform aftermarket options all day. Especially when you throw in the directional capability. Maybe a tech package available on lower trims as an option at least.

      Agree 110%. When I was nieve I use to swap the halogens bulbs for either LED’s or HID’s. They would only last 1 year max! Kept changing brands and the same thing happened over and over. Very frustrating. Point being, I bought a 23 Base Outback with standard LED’s instead of being forced into the limited crosstrek

They are the hardest vehicle to find and offer the best resale value in its class for a reason. Consumer Reports loves these cars for a reason. It’s also super easy to install LASFIT led bulbs into these Subarus. Not to mention the AWD system is incredible.

    Keep up with the tire rotations, all wheel drives measure rotation speeds, that is affected by tread depth. Change the engine coolant early, with a good brand such as Engine Ice. Look into cleaning or replacing the EGR valve for higher mileage. I think these brake well, but Mazdas steer better. The 2 liter engine seems a lot slower than the higher trim level 2.5 liter engine. Also, the similar Mazda CX-30 has a much better sound system. For the newest side impact testing, the Outback and CX-5 did well. I prefer the Outback suspension, but it costs more than the Crosstrek or CX-5 for a similar trim level.

For example, auto dimming rear view mirror with compass and Home-link, auto dimming side mirrors with welcome lighting, LED interior lighting upgrade, rear seat back protectors, rear bumper cover, floor liners, cargo tray, cargo net, cargo hooks, aero bar set and body side molding. The prices for some of the accessories is insane! I dare someone to try to find a Subaru without any of these bullshit accessories, it’s impossible unless you order the car from the factory. Sportage Hybrid looks interesting. I still think the Crosstrek in Limited trim is a good value proposition. The Crosstrek is a reliable platform. While the 2.5 engine option is a newer offering (2021+), it's the same engine they have been using for a number of other Subarus, so it has been tested and known to be reliable. I dont know much about turbo charged hybrids... the kia is like 1.6 or 1.7L? Even with a turbo charge, pulling that size vehicle... sounds like it will still seem sluggish to me....but hey I am only speculating. The reason you should buy a $34,000 Crosstrek Limited over a Sportage Hybrid for less is reputation. Kia like Hyundai imo developed a very bad reputation for unreliable cheaper cars for decades now. A lot of ppl I know who owned said theirs didnt make it past 60-80k miles. I admit both kia and Hyundai have made huge leaps to try and retain its customer base. Hyundai offers an excellent warranty package definitely worth checking out and could be a deal breaker for some. But to me, Honda, Toyota, and Subarau have an excellent reputation for reliability and resalability and safety

    • @RLTtizME

    I have a 2022 outdoor model Crosstrek. I've had it for about 8 months now and I so regret it. I absolutely hate the CVT and how much more gas it takes than advertised. I test drove it twice before buying it and never noticed how shitty the CVT actually was. I will be looking to trade it in about a year or so.

      That's funny, I've got a loaded '21 Limited w/2.5 plus I added a few extra factory parts, including a roof mounted Thule storage box. Throw-in complete aftermarket undercoating & rustproofing to boot. Loaded it up for an outdoor trip to a mountain side lake weekend, drove 75 - 80 mph on a 800+ round-trip venture and averaged 32.4 mpg.
      Yep that CVT ..... they just use SO MUCH more gas. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
      ohr: ..... want more power? buy a Toyota 4 Runner Limited and add a TRD Supercharger. We've got one of those also, and the 17 mpg on the highway, running Premium gas will cure your whining.
