Instead of aluminum foil I like to use nonstick parchment paper. I lay two pieces criss-cross, so the edges are covered. The two pieces of crossed parchment paper are stronger than the foil so it's easy to lift the cooled pecan bark out of the tray. 😍
I have made this twice now for 2 different parties, it was a huge hit at both. The only thing I changed was that I added about 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Thank you for the recipe, it’s going in the recipe box!
Ken..you should have your own show on public television..Your personality is a treasure and there would many, many children who would truly benefit from the way you describe the task at hand.
@@suebl4037 If personalities such as Ken`s were able to multiply and each personality of Ken were be placed in every early childhood program, this world would be a better place. But the only way for that to happen is if Ken were to begin reading children`s books, teaching to paint or draw and color etc. on his own television program. Or maybe a separate YT channel for children to learn from him. Young children are sponges up until the age of 7. The youth of this world need desperately the teaching of the elders and their kind way of speaking that is lacking in most educational systems nowadays. Just look around at what has begun to fruit from decisions made just a few years ago.
Hi...just a little helpful hint I learned from watching Martha Stewart - use a BENCH SCRAPER to cut brownies, bars and especially something like this. You get more of a controlled cut (if that matters to you), and you have an easier time cutting the pecan pie bark. I just mention this because I noticed you struggled a bit with the knife while cutting, having to turn it forward and backward. The knife handle gets in the way! The bench scraper really works well for this and is a great tool to have in your kitchen for so many other uses. I so enjoyed this recipe and am eager to try it! Thank you for a great recipe and wonderful presentation!
Yes, thanks for the tip. I just didn't want to dig out the scraper and the knife was right there. Availability... is the reason we often use something other than the ideal tool. If you have ever tried to drive a nail with anything other than a hammer you know what I mean. I'll be sure to use the bench scraper next time. 🙂
We pronounce "pecan" the same way here in south Texas. 😉 Wow! This is something my mother would definitely like. I'll make it after my next grocery run! Thank you.
I can't wait to try this for the holidays!! I know that it will be a hit! I'm thinking that I should probably do a "test run" of it before then (so I can eat it... LOL) Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you, Ken! I first tuned in about a year ago curious to make buttermilk biscuits and became a fan right away! Layer Hershey bars over the top immediately after it comes out of the oven. After hershey melts, spread evenly. Let it cool. Score the top and put in the freezer until completely set. Break or cut into serving size pieces. Store in covered container or freeze until ready to eat.

Once again another esay recipe.I love sophistication without a lot of work, i think your peacon pie bark, it will look good on my table for the holiday's.I made the peacon casserole for thanksgiving and we enjoyed it.presently i have about three bags of walnuts in my freezer can i use them for the peacon pie bark instead of the peacon? Common sense tells me yes, but i want your opinion. Thanks for sharing, happy holiday.
i cant wait to try these ...i will TRY and make them Low carb & sugar free using substitute i have a recipe for homemade graham crackers so i will try and make some first to use in this recipe...

Ya know Ken, theres an old Louisiana thing Justin Wilson used to make called "Rosey Peacans" or parched pecans. Roasted in your oven and there's salt...and of course good ol cayenne😂 I'm thinking about making a pan and adding those as about 25% /75% ratio to this recipe. Not hot, just a tingle😁
First of all, thank you for pronouncing pecans correctly!😁 Secondly, this is very similar to what my husband and son call "Christmas crack". [Saltines, the same sauce & chocolate chips]. This will be added to our holiday snacks!

Wait to add the vanilla extract until after you remove the pan from the heat, you’ll preserve more of its flavor.
