This is something that happened long ago, if David was truly sorry, he would have properly apologized to the victims WAY before. He only issues this apology after receiving backlash and his sponsors dropping him. Hes genuinely sorry, but only for himself.
Remember that all those influencers are only sorry they get caught.
Also the fact that he was just out right denying being involved in the entire thing until there was consequences for his actions and then he was saying sorry and being more apologetic
At least he is apologizing and showing his actions were wrong, regardless of the cause. Our culture is really becoming toxic that redemption is just a word and people aren't allowed to improve themselves from past mistake. Not defending his past actions but glad he is taking steps into redemption.

The first was awful and almost sociopathic, im sure he wouldve had better responses if he was genuine like his newest video. Also the fact that he had disabled comments, the like/dislike video and posted it in one of his smaller channels is a huge redflag. I agree we need to forgive and be kind; but sometimes people NEED a harsh push to fix their mistakes. David had ample opportunity to apologize, get better and do the right thing, but he just kept fucking up. I have no doubt in my mind however that the internet will quickly forget about this and he will be right back on his feet.

Trisha's point of blaming David for asking to buy alcohol for the girls isn't talked about enough! Alcohol shouldn't be his first thought to make a girl have more fun on video, especially if they're underage. What other things could have happened behind the scenes of the videos, they have so many of them drinking a crazy amount, surrounded by fans.

All I can think of is when they got that young girl in ohio so wasted she had gotten toxic alcohol poisoning, then the football team raped her. Abd laughed on video about it while she was comatose.
Netflix did a documentary about it and that's one time anonymous white hat hackers busted the bad guys and the people in that town protecting them. It was tragic because the girl was underage and naive and they left her on the lawn after having put her in the trunk of their car, and left her outside on her lawn in freezing weather. The hackers busted their phones and videos they made and exposed them for everyone to see and that's what helped bust the town members in power too. That were covering for them. They also shamed and threatened the voctim.
Sometimes anonymous white hat hackers do great things. It's the black and grey's that do bad stuff.
My boyfriend has no idea who David is or about any of the drama. I’m watching this while he’s studying in our room. He overheard some of the apology and his immediate response was “That sounds like a lie.” Can’t say I disagree.

It's so frustrating when you're the victim and they just continue with their life while you're just fighting and struggling to go back to normal. I love how everything is a learning experience in these apology videos, like how tf is causing other people trauma, an experience that you can learn from.

Any experience can be beneficial to someones growth. To be fair, Brandon was the one who cut off David and made the jail joke. It doesn’t do much for the situation given Brandon was dating a high schooler, which David was also aware of... There’s a pattern of David having buddies who assault. It’s scary. It’s important to have all facts including who exactly said what but I’m not calling anyone out, just letting you guys know what really happened. David and all his buddies still look bad.
I know lawyers won't let this happen, but it'd be so interesting to have Ethan and Hila interview David. I know Trisha doesn't care to talk to him, but for him to go on TH-cam to talk about what he may have learned about mental health and listening to friends who say they're hurt would be powerful. And Ethan could roast him!
It would be better with Trisha because even Ethan is somewhat biased (in the same way I am as a fan). I had approved of his apology somewhat until I heard Trisha’s points.

@@briannadozark I'm not sure about specific videos you can watch but I've heard that Jeff had a really bad accident somewhat recently and he hurt his head/eye. Apparently he needed surgery and there was a picture going around of him with a bruised eye. Some people have been thinking that it happened whilst he was filming a vlog/video of some kind. Try looking up "Jeff eye accident" or something like that. People have been saying that this may have affected him mentally because it was a head injury.

I agree with Ethan's assessment i thought it was really fair of him, Trisha is totally biased. Her life has been directly affected by David, his lawyers and and team directly singled her out. I don't invalidate her feelings at all, I totally empathize and understand where she is coming from. That being said she is also being hypocritical. Trisha has made a lot of apology videos, monetized some, and made many mistakes in the public. Lets not forget the N word, Driving while high to Jason's house (she could have killed someone), being physically abusive to her partners, etc. Before I get hate, I don't condone the vlog squad or any of their actions and everyone is entitled to their opinion and no one is obligated to accept David's apology.
To be fair, it’s not like Trisha denies any of her past wrongs and acknowledges how many mistakes she’s made. So long as she’s learned from them and no longer displays that behavior, she can criticize that same behavior from someone else.

I'd just like to say that Ethan was told in the past by his viewers that he didn't give his guests enough time to talk. That was a while ago, he's grown a lot and I've noticed that he's progressed as a presenter and that he actively respects Trisha as a co-host and deliberately gives her the time to talk even after he has said his piece. Good job man. You two work really well together

Because of the fact he rushed to the couch and was turning the camera on before he was even seated could prove that - if you think critically about it. If someone were to have been deeply in thought about their actions and learning something, they would've been seated for a while. They would've set time aside to think about what the girls went through and how what he did was super scummy.
Him rushing to the couch shows he just needed to get a video out and be done with it, giving the vibe that he didn't learn anything at all and was fully aware the whole time that his actions were wrong because he didn't even need to take a second to sit and think about it to come to the conclusion.
It shows that it wasn't just naivety or him thinking "that's just what people do". He knew better and had that apology in his pocket, ready to pull it out when the time came that he needed to use it.

I'm certainly not making excuses for David. But it is worth considering that his actions up until now regarding public apology were probably heavily influenced by the people around him who make money off his success. He was likely advised (poorly) by his lawyers and investors and managers, etc. These people don't want their cash cow to die, so they weren't necessarily giving him the type of advice that would have placed him in a better position morally. There are people whose sole job is to spin a negative situation for celebrities into the least impactful outcome for the money maker....so they can keep making everyone money. Be sure David has people like that around him. Doesn't make it right, but I'd imagine a lot of that was going on behind the scenes. David even mentioned that people had been with him, advising him, all week and he was finally alone. Jeff and the others don't have that management, so their public responses were less curated and more emotion based, and certainly not carefully planned by professionals.
