It takes time for the brain to process this kind of trauma. Some victims blame themselves, or convince themselves they agreed to and liked what happened. Many victims go back to their ab*ser. Some victims even develop kinks for what has happened to them. Since you're an SA survivor, I am very surprised you dont know this, and that you would rely on such limited argumentation to defend Dom. I am a r*pe survivor myself, and have gone through this very difficult process. It took me a year to realize what had happened. I was still with my ab*ser at that time, because I blamed myself.
Also...... why do you think women want to be known as having been r*ped by a D-list TH-camr ? Can you name women who have achieved fame through these kinds of allegations? I'll wait.
@@crymorefkr she was clearly intoxicated enough to literally pass out in his bed and then need help getting dressed. I don't think she was fully conscious or sober enough to even consent. I was raped while I was passed out and intoxicated and I remember it very vividly and it took me a few years to even realize what happened to me was rape. You are so shook up from something so "unbelievable/tragic" happened to you that it doesn't automatically register in your head that it actually wasn't consentual even if you fought off your r*pist like I did. I didn't talk about what happened to me for a few years until after it happened. Everybody handles trauma differently.

Because if you act as if everything is fine maybe you are not a victim. Then you can move on without being a r-word survivor. Nobody wants to be that. And as long as you can surpress the feeling and don't have to acknowledge it you can act as if there is no trauma you have to work through.
And if everyone else and the guy act as if everything was fine and well around you you try to belive that. You think maybe it was fine. And at a later time it hits you that what happened should never have happened, not because you regret it but because what the other person did was wrong and criminal. The trauma will come up and show itself and you can no longer supress.

Hannah told us she realized she was r-worded months after. When she was drunk in a taxi and just started bawling crying and remembering how she was completely out of it when Dom r-worded her. That's when the trauma reared it's ugly head for her.

People need to press charges. An investigation has to happen.. and that takes time. Most people don't have the money to go through the court process. Unfortunately unless the state is pressing charges, the victim usually won't/can't.

So we are to ignore or shame the victims, or delegitimize their experience and trauma until they bring their case in front of a judge, which could take years ? As a victim of SA I can attest that you don’t realize how you feel about these moments until you have time to process them. Especially when drinking is involved, you make decisions you wouldn’t usually make and you do things you regret. It seems like Dom was trying to say David forced him to do it for vlog content rather than him actually doing it. Which David could have had an influence but at the end of the day it was his decision to do what he did.
This is somewhat a bad argument. David has a big influence. It’s the same reason why the girls went over their house in the first place to have sex. David influenced dom so he can get clout points, while the crew influenced the girls to have sex so they can have clout points. In the end, all including David, are consumed by clout and cause themselves to become a perpetrator or a victim in this situation. Without David being an influencer, those girls would have left and not accept to drink because they wouldn’t have wanted to have sex. Same with Dom. He knew he was gonna get clout points so he did what he thought he had to do. Which was the WRONG choice.

Love how he tried to use her texts to him the next day as a scapegoat that she was okay with what happened. A lot of times victims don’t realize the extent of what happened to them until days or weeks later. When I was SA by a friend, we texted the next week because I didn’t realize the extent of what he did to me, and my true feelings came up a month later. I was depressed, anxious, and suicidal, and went on a drunken rampage for over a year. I needed help.
Just because she texted him does not make her ok with what happened. Trauma hits people at different times, and as women we are taught that these things are our fault. She probably was thinking “maybe if I didn’t get so drunk it wouldn’t have happened.” Or “maybe I lead him on” .. these thoughts are normal. But it is important to know NONE OF IT WAS HER FAULT. Women should be able to get drunk or go to a party without worrying about being SA’d.

Real talk that was an apology that was spot on the money, which I think is a huge positive. If he's being deceptive and pretending compassion, that's an issue, but I think people also don't consider that the average man doesn't want to cause trauma when they think they're havjng pretty consensual sex. This is why fucking while wasted is never worth the risk of someone actually not being capable of consent, let alone for a video. People fuck while drunk all the time and both parties give the thumbs up the next morning but it is far from a guarantee. It's not a risk anyone should take. No in reality what is described here is an incredible gray area. Having sex while drunk is not illegal, in fact millions of people do this every year. . I've had sex many times hammered and was completely able to consent. If you get drunk, want to have sex with someone, and then later regret that decision that is not sexual assualt as you were consenting at the time. People need to take personal responsibility

He did not need to expose her texts for any other reason than showing that she was “okay” with it and get heat off of him. Survivors often do not want to come to terms with the fact that they were assaulted, so they go along with it and act as if it were fine. It’s a numbing feeling that you cannot understand unless you have been through it.
