Hello! Just a suggestion, but maybe you could start doing this to your cakes (add cake strips) so it could bake perfectly and you dont have to cut off any excess of the cakes! Whats more, the cake turns out very moist too! th-cam.com/video/MNuAMoMgq70/w-d-xo.html
I‘ve just made this cake and it turned out amazing! There are several tips that I would like to share with you guys: first I freaked out when the liquid batter didn’t go fluffy and airy, but I continued anyways and it turned out amazing, just like in the video. so if you do feel like your liquid isn’t going to turn into the batter, don’t worry and keep going, just make sure your handmixer is on high - it’s gonna take 10-15’ or so. I used kitchen aid handmixer and I needed to go for the fifth level, which is the highest. And I’m not sure if I have followed the recipe exactly (because I was baking with another person as well), but I ended up using a lot more coating cream than what’s written in the description box, maybe triple amount of it. Oh and since the cake is rather fluffy, make sure you leave it in the oven (slightly opened) for a good 30 minutes or so after it’s been baked or it will deflate quite easily. Good luck baking 🍀

Hiii! I just made the cake and it turned out really good! Though, I did have to try 2 times to do it right. I suggest you have everything completely prepared because once you add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture you have to make sure you don't deflate the egg mixture while mixing the dry ingredients in. Another suggestion is that the butter isn't too warm because it will make the batter very watery and deflate all the air. This is where you have to be quick. This is all from my experience so everyone is different ;) i hope this helped :D!
Love making this cake! Even though method is writen in korean, I was able to adapt my baking skills to this recipe and follow the video without issues. My tips: heat eggs, honey & sugar over the hot water until it reaches 60 c degrees, i find it helps with the whipping stage and the air bubbles holds longer when you start folding in the flour. I also have a fan forced oven so at 170-175 c degrees i only need to bake the cake for 18-20 minutes max in an 8 inch round tin. Aluminium tins without the non stick coating baked more evening and you dont get the odd peak in the centre of the cake. Highly recommend this recipe. The cake isn't overly sweet either. so what she's whisking together with the eggs and sugar to make a batter consistency is called a pate a bombe (pronounced pate bomb lol). Pate a bombe best fluffs up into a batter consistency when the eggs are warm, and you MUST whisk in high speed. generally takes 5-8 mins full speed depending on the speed of your equipment. in my kitchen aid stand mixer, while its on the highest speed mixing, i normally blowtorch my metal bowl all around until the bowl feels room temp/warm to touch, the incorporation of the air being whisked in and heat is what turns it into a fluffy and airy pate a bombe. just be careful not to cook the eggs. the color should turn a pale yellow and feel thick, but airy. :) hope that answered any confusion. I'm a pastry cook so i make these all the time haha

I followed every step and the consistency of the batter is foamy like this one. The only main differences are: 1) I use a 23cm size cake pan, so the batter spreads out thinner than this recipe, 2) I don't have a food thermometer so I don't know what temperature the eggs heated up to. Would these cause the cake to not fluff up?

ive made lots of cakes before and this was my first time making anything from this channel and it turned out so bad PSJSJD but i def am gonna retry it again!!!! i ordered glass bowls and i need a new thermometer cause mine broke and a taller pan :-) also ive never made a cake using grams so this was my first time hahahah that probably contributed to why it was so flat and sad LMFAO
tried this recipe for a friends birthday cake, and flavor is there, however this is not the moistest (if that's even a word lol) cake I've tried. i coated the cake with simple syrup and texture was a little flaky and crumbly. not a moist cake, but taste is good!

Eggs rise better when heated at certain degree, usually 40 degree celcius
turn up the egg temperature and whip, It can make a softer, finer bubble~^^

ive made lots of cakes before and this was my first time making anything from this channel and it turned out so bad PSJSJD but i def am gonna retry it again!!!! i ordered glass bowls and i need a new thermometer cause mine broke and a taller pan :-) also ive never made a cake using grams so this was my first time hahahah that probably contributed to why it was so flat and sad LMFAO
It would be great if you can add the mild siz for all your cake videos
tried this recipe for a friends birthday cake, and flavor is there, however this is not the moistest (if that's even a word lol) cake I've tried. i coated the cake with simple syrup and texture was a little flaky and crumbly. not a moist cake, but taste is good!
how would u make it more moist?
@@TofuuTime i wouldn't know how to adjust this recipe to make it more moist so i just use another recipe I've received compliments on~
