My husband suffered a severe traumatic brain injury in December 2023, was in intensive care, hospital and brain injury unit for 47 days. We were eating whole nuts, berries and seeds in our kefir for breakfast and trying to eat 30 different plants a week before his accident and also took D3 & K2 supplements which restarted once he came home. I am convinced eating like this has speeded his recovery. He is now back part time at his work already. Do you agree? Have any studies been done on brain injury and nutrition?

Excellent information and very well presented too! I'm definitely going to include more of these foods in my diet. Thank you Dr Rupy for all that you are doing to improve people's health. I now have a subscription to Exhale coffee after your recommendation, they are a fab company and their decaf is so good, tastes just like real coffee. Thanks again.

Thank you for this informative video and thank you for breaking down each category and giving us the science behind it as well. Do you have a chart outlining how much of different types of food we need to eat on daily basis, with some examples? So appreciate your time and support 🙏🏻

I am a vegetarian, and as a Christian I note that the Bible reveals these things listed were a part of the original diet mentioned in Genesis One.

Hi, Absolutely love the Pod, adverts not withstanding! New to your TH-cam channel though.
As a T2 Diabetic the dietary advice has been invaluable. I have one question though.
Oats, for a diabetic, good or bad?
Do the benefits, cholesterol lowering, high fibre, satiating, blood pressure lowering, etc, outweigh the fact that they are a carbohydrate and therefore cause a blood glucose spoke?
    Really hope you see this.
Take care and thanks for the brilliant advice.
    Cheers
    Nick

Also, will dried cranberries/blueberries do the trick?

Some of the CHO in beans is fibre which does not break down into a usable sugar for your energy. Instead it is food for the bacteria in your large bowel that break it down into fatty acids which become fuel, especially for brain health. Also because of the protein/ CHO combination in legumes, the CHO absorption is slowed so you don’t get that sugar and subsequent insulin spike.
