Summary 🔬 Gut Fuel Mechanism: The small intestine depends on glutamine for energy, crucial for maintaining gut integrity and preventing leaky gut. 🌱 Importance of Butyrate: Butyrate, produced by gut microbes, fuels the large intestine, showcasing the distinct energy needs of gut regions. 🛡 Immune and Gut Link: The gut acts as the body’s frontline defense, with its thin cellular wall playing a critical role in blocking external threats. ⚙ Glutamine's Role Beyond Muscle: While not vital for muscle growth, glutamine is essential for gut health and overall immune function. 🏃 Exercise and Gut Health: Intense physical activity can deplete glutamine levels, leading to leaky gut and associated symptoms. 💊 Chronic Stress and Digestion: Chronic stress affects digestion by disrupting blood flow to the intestines and contributing to conditions like bacterial overgrowth. 🧠 Gut-Brain Axis: A leaky gut can lead to brain inflammation, worsening conditions like anxiety, depression, and sleep disorders due to neurotransmitter imbalances. ⚖ Nutrient Synergy: Adequate levels of magnesium and vitamin B6 are critical for converting glutamate to GABA, ensuring relaxation and balanced brain function. 🕊 Quick Interventions: Supplements like glutamine and magnesium can provide immediate relief while addressing long-term gut health goals. Insights Based on Numbers 20 grams/day: Recommended glutamine supplementation for individuals recovering from surgery or intense physical activity. 4-5 grams every 4 hours: Supplementation helped an athlete reduce race time by three hours and eliminated gastrointestinal symptoms. One Cell Thick: The small intestine's thin lining highlights its vulnerability to damage and the importance of proper fuel.
When I was diagnosed with autoimmune and learned about leaky gut, I started my healing journey with healing the leaky gut. I made home made broth for 6-8 weeks (different meats/bones) and sipped a cup before coffee eveey single day for 6-8 weeks. And bc of the glutamine I belive is how I kickstarted that healing. My antibodies dropped by over x3 in 1 year. This is not just 1 step of this process, but this was the the step #1
@RonMer-r2s there were probiotics as well, horse dose of vitamin D, B-compelx, zinc, Selenium. Removing night shades 1st, then letting filled foods and then introducing them back one by one in order to spot the sensitivity (now 2 years later I do not eat these foods that give me sensitivity). I stay mostly lectin free to this day, onky eat some of the night shades (tomatoe), rarely. I eat cruciferous and what is not lectin filed. I went also mostly carnivore diet for 2 -3 months, amped up my protein and fats intake ovwral and dropped carbs even more. I was already dairy free but if I eat cheese sometimes or [graas fed] butter I do not react, but I do for ice cream, A2 milk. I went GF for a while too but I am not relative to gluten I have some, but I may be relative to glaphisade (at home we have an Italian flour, I eat sometimes Italy imported pasta, but very rarely). I went on NP thyroid (lowest dose) for 1 year to help my energy and I got off of them exactly 12 months later having my own clean energy. I also reversed my insuling reustance and everything just starting going upheel. Also stress management is essential. I've learned so much through this journey. I am about to have my 6 months fbup and let's see where I am at now with antibodies. I had them as low as close to remission. But they go up and down with stress.
TLDW 1. Optimize health instead of treating illness. 2. Glutamine helps to support the integrity of your GI system. 3. Support your GABA system to balance glutamate/GABA levels, through correcting zinc, copper levels and supplementing magnesium and vitamin B6.

We are so grateful for content like this. I have just discovered 3 months ago after finding the right doctor, that my gut was literally broken - SIBO and Fungus. All my sleep issues emanate here
@downunderoioi3421 I was able to find a doctor who is medical doctor, nutritionist, functional doctor. She ordered an OAT test which revealed all my issues. She put me on medication for 6 weeks and diet. Now I am on supplements and introducing more food into my diet.
start by improving your hydrochloric acid production and taking a betaine hydrochloride and pancreatic enzyme supplement. What you need is to digest food properly and assimilate it properly. You don't need to supplement with glutamine if you eat properly and can utilize what you eat. It's just marketing!
Please make fermented cabbage juice. It contains pure l-glutamine. I add a little ginger and Celtic salt to my cabbage juice. Mix with equal parts of water and enjoy. I also take biotin and butyric acid along with l-glutamine after meals.
Whatever FDA says I try to avoid it. I found myself in this rabbit hole of so many industry lies when I read "The 23 Former Doctor Truths". Its no wonder why Doctor left her career.
Saying the information he provided was the best in your opinion would be more accurate.. Saying he is the smartest is pretty dumb in itself. How do you compare intelligence? Did this guy pass your made up IQ test with flying colors? 😂
This was purely an advertisement for this synthetic supplement. Thomas has a great channel, but this video wasn't appreciative at all considering his normal health advice, was really surprised when he was pushing this product
This is brilliant! I have been fighting gut issues for 15 years. Recently diagnosed with colitis n celiac. None of my GI doctors ever discussed supplements. Yet, I know I can’t live on prescription meds for ever. This was so helpful !
This is a good starting point but it is one of 3 stages in my opinion. Step 1 Improve mucin production as this is the protective lining of your gut - supplement with NAG (N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine). Step 2 Improve secretion of Secretory IgA (immune cells that attack pathogens and support beneficial symbionts) - increase Vitamin A. Step 3 Strengthen intestinal permeability - Supplement with Glutamine.
I had a Naturopathic Dr who tried to say I'm the problem with regard to stress. I had never done testing with him and only saw his Acupuncturist for series of sessions. So in short, I found COLLAGEN with all amino acids had an amazing effect on me. Whereas he was pushing probiotics. I have found its really important to do your due diligence to explore what's best for your body and in turn creats a balance.
💯💯💯 we are all different in the way our body metabolises what we put into it. Vital to pay attention to what our body tells us when we eat and drink, as well as the things we expose our body to. What works for me may not work for you.
Collagen made mine and many many others hair fallout. Whereas plain old Beef gelatin did quite the opposite. What is going on at a cellular I don't know, but if your hair strts to fall out taking the predigested collagen now you now why.
Thank you for talking about C15. I have been taking the Fatty15 supplement for over 4 months now and my liver is doing so much better. My blood test results have improved dramatically.

Very awesome info in this one. I've been dealing with lots of gut issues and been on a low FODMAP diet for over a month now. Fixing my guts gonna need a lot of work. Thanks for sharing this video.
Just wanted to warn you that the Low FODMAP Diet has been scientifically proven to worsen gut symptoms/dysbiosis/SIBO if followed strictly for a long period of time. It can be effective for eliminating symptoms short term, but just proceed with caution
I have severe gut issues too. I now take S. Boulardi , lactobacillus probiotics plus L-glutamine. Also take Manuka honey as well. It helps. Also take digestion aid if needed .
This video was so helpful and it has unique information for someone like me with gut issues. Ive spent years scouring the web for new information while Im seeing a functional medicine practitioner too, and its extremely helpful to find new, detailed information. Thank you!!
Try going carnivore for 90 days. It put my husband's ulcerative colitis in full remission in 6 weeks. 25 years of suffering and constant intestinal infections have been gone for two years now. No more bloody diarrhea.
Thanks for sharing that. I have been dealing with mild gut issues for years from a medication I was on. I still have some lingering stuff and just had my first couple of doses of aloe to see if it will help. Never tried it before as a health aid. You just gave me a little hope.
What I've found has fixed my gut after 20-30 yrs of bloating, stomach aches, ect and believing it was just normal and to live with it. I've almost completely cut gluten from my diet, (lol, ok my wife has cut it from my diet), and I don't remember feeling this good. Such a simple fix. I'll never go back to gluten. It's fixed my guts more than I thought possible.
For me grains/gluten are the biggest trigger too. Not the only one, but gut health got better within a few days after cutting out all grains besides white rice which is technically a grain but has no gluten.
This explains why I was having insomnia for the past month, I was taking glutamine, but I hadn't taken magnesium and b6. Councidentally, yesterday I took my first b6 and magnesium + glutamine in higher doses and I finally slept like a baby!!! I'm still tired, though, I guess in a week I will be a new person.
I tried glutamine, I felt better, but I still need probiotics. I produce way too much cortisol, so of course other people might not, but probiotics have been my best friends and help a lot
Anything the Government say to eat i just do the opposite. I recommend reading “Health and Beauty Mastery” by Julian Bannett that book is a real eye opener about shocking stuff health industry is doing! I completely changed my habits
It’s refreshing to hear about ways to support gut health beyond just probiotics! I’ve been focusing on whole foods like steak and eggs, which has really helped my digestion. I also found some valuable supplement advice in Secret Supplements that turn you into a Superhuman. One supplement that’s made a huge difference is glutamine-it’s been amazing for gut lining support and overall digestive health.

Gentleman, we have to be careful when promoting the benefits of glutamine. Glutamine is one of the fuels that cancer cells needs to survive. Ingesting high levels of glutamine could scientifically increase your cancer proliferation. If you don't believe my words, please look at the many scientific studies that confirm this.
So is glutamine in the natural form of food protein like chicken turkey and fish and pork and for someone who might have cancer should they go on a no animal fat diet?
@@rolandarolle4682 It’s a protein not a fat so you’d have to avoid eating animal products altogether. I believe some specialists do recommend a low protein, keto type diet for fighting cancer but do your own research obviously.
All good info here to be aware of. Thank you to everyone involved in presenting this info including those who summarized the presentation in the comment section. Just one thing I have to contribute to all this great info: every day, obviously not in the car in traffic surrounded by fumes, or air polluted areas, ...Breath Deeply. ..to expand the gut and get fresh oxygen in there to support cells. We often forget to breath deeply, steadily in through nose, out of mouth. Early morning, late night when air quality is optimal is best. This should be a routine part of life and it takes a few minutes per session. I wish everyone increased recovery and optimal health. Cheers!
Dr. Sherr's emphasis on lifestyle changes over supplements is refreshing. Incorporating fiber-rich foods, regular exercise, and stress management into daily routines seems like a sustainable way to enhance gut health

And for people that don't want to rely on glutamine supplements, beef meat is high in glutamine and from vegetables cabbage, red the most. I've had gut issues for years and since I implemented lean ground beef to my daily nutrition and cabbage, my gut's issues have almost disappeared.
Will it work with just cabbage juice alone? I have high sensitivity to beef. Also, I can’t take glutamine supplements because I have a liver disease. It has been reported that Liver damage is a possible side effect of glutamine.
@@pandy2022 I have no idea. Frankly speaking, I wasn't used to consuming red meat because of IBS and hemmorhoids both of which I face. Lean ground beef seemed once I swapped to it over white meats not to be a problem from the start. As for cabbage, I could have it 24/7/365.
@@ApostolosKatsioulas I have IBS, hemorrhoids and diverticulitis. It’s all related to gut issues. I saw a functional doctor and a dietitian and still haven’t improved. @@pandy2022 I am not a doctor. I don't trust doctors entirely, I wish to experiment with my nutrition. I am not going to guide you on what to do. However, my advice is to give it a go, bit by bit. Red meat is one of the best sources when it comes to vitamins of the b complex and other minerals and are all highly bioavailable. Perhaps, you could opt for small portions of lean cuts and experiment? Antibiotics will only worsen it.

Good for you. I am 76 take zero "medications", and eat my traditional German diet with lots of cabbage in various forms daily. My mother lived to be a healthy 100, zero pills, she was a farmer, ate her own food, except for feast-days quite sparingly. We always ate our own sour milk from our own cows, lots of Sauerkraut, that is how our nation survived in the last century. Our own apple trees provided food and drink throughout the winter. The famous German pastries are far removed from their American versions and usually not eaten on a daily basis. Of course, in these modern times adding beneficial "foreign" foods to our diet is a good thing. I enjoy green tea, but it is good to stick to the foods natural to your genes. I wish you good health and hope you live to be past 100.
Kimchi I causes stomach cancer though due to high salt content. Just search it up and you will find articles about it. Everything else you say is 100% but there's more things to add though.

Whoah! Dr Sherr is from Leadville, Colorado? That is so cool! I went there in February of 1999 and stayed in a hotel just outside of Leadville. I think it was called the Moose Lodge. I met the Hollingsworth family in Leadville when I was there. Such a small but awesome little town! It's located at just over 10,000' elevation, which is why I went there, because I love cold weather and mountains and extreme stuff like that! Man that is so crazy that he's from there, lol.
the explanation at 01:08 about how the gut is just one cell thick and acts as our first line of defense really put things into perspective for me. It's fascinating how essential glutamine is not just for gut health but for overall body regulation. Thanks for such a deep dive into gut health and its broader impacts! 🙌
my dog started having seizures after an antibiotic and then became sensitive to high glutamate foods like beef and chicken. I didn't quite understand what was happening at the time but she started having seizures after feeding sometimes right after sometimes next day. She was ok with salmon and fruit and certain vegetables like carrots. Sharing because if there is miitochondrial damage there could be sensitivity to certain foods. Glutamate can cause too much excitability in the brain. anti biotic was fluorquinone.
Thank you for this warning. I keep my dog and cats healthy, with shining fur. I never feed them out of a can. I give them the same meat and fish that I buy for myself, only i give it half-cooked. They don't touch fruits and veggies and I don't feed them milk, either, except for when they were in the pup and kitten stage. I try and stick to what's natural for them. The med I was taking started to work a little bit better. (A bit). Florastor and culturelle will help anxiety!!! LGG !!
Just to clarify for people not understanding: Is L-glutamine related to MSG? And while their names sound similar, and they both come from the same family of amino acids known as the glutamates, they are different. Glutamic acid is best known as a component of monosodium glutamate, while L-glutamine may be known as a supplement used by athletes to help improve immune health and recovery.
Also, MSG isn’t the big bad boogey man everyone thinks. Any adverse reactions are only present in a small percentage and it’s similar to a lactate reaction.
Some autistics have trouble converting glutamate to glutamine and GABA. Bifidobacterium Adolescentis could help with that. It does in my house, where we have less excitatory reactions. It's a probiotic though, which is counter to the message in this video. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37347184/
very good. Thank you. Yet, particularly with Dr. Sherr, the session can be quite challenging for everybody not fluent in physiology. You should give a small warning, or provie a wrap up.
My GABA receptors are damaged from Benzodiazepines. I was put on them when I had my first panic attack at age 16. I wanted off them even before I knew how damaging they were but I had a psychiatrist that said I’d always have to stay on them. A nurse at that clinic who picked up on them being the actual problem switched me to another psychiatrist there at he wanted me off them right away. Went to detox and almost died. Then my husband did a lot of research and I’ve been trying to get off them ever since. When he discovered the Dr. Heather Ashton Method online in her free manual. That’s helped a lot but there’s still been interruptions in the healing process. GABA receptors can heal but it’s hard because these drugs are so physically hard to come off of. The addiction for me is merely physical.
May I ask how long have you been on them ? i can totally relate to you as I a have been taking them for about 22 years now. I have been to a detox clinic and they tried to wean me of them in 3 weeks. I too almost died and this clinic did not even think this happened because of the withdrawl. The second I left the clinic I went right back on taking them. I am taking the absolut personal minimum at this point, but I cant get any lower. In the morning, by 9 a clock I start looosing feeling in my right hand and tingling fingers. it is an unbearable feeling. So I take a half and it ges away after about 30 minutes. I have become really healthy with my diet and everything but the benzos I jzst cant get under control.
@ I’ve been on since I was 16 and I’m 44. The Dr. Heather Ashton Method helped me. It’s cross tapering from a short acting Benzo to a longer acting Benzo. Then slowly tapering off. Which one are you on? I’ve had two times since getting from Clonazapam to Valium that I almost got off Valium but my antidepressants interfered. First by giving me Serotonin Syndrome in which case the only treatment was Benzos 🙄 and then this summer mania and insomnia so I had to updose. So I decided this time to get off the antidepressant first. It didn’t need to be as long of a taper but about 7-8 weeks. I started sleeping better. If you can look up the Dr. Heather Ashton manual online and get onto the longest acting Benzo like Valium and then do a slow taper like 6-8 months. It might be your best chance. Disclaimer: I’m not a doctor so talk to your health care provider before starting your plan. I’ll pray for you 🙏 💜
Thank you for sharing that. I just posted above about fluoroquinolones - which the benzo recovery community says to totally avoid. I have to say, getting off only one year of use of 1mg klon for sleep while taking care of my 96-year-old father was the most absolute horrific experience of my life. There is nothing else that even comes close. Lots of suffering. The suffering is beyond description. Anyone here thinking of using them, I beg you to reconsider. I am glad you found Ashton's manual. I hope you are successful. I am in year 6 of healing and I am happy to say that I have come very very far. Those pills are no joke. I still have a few odd symptoms that are fairly mild. My gut still isn't 100%. The horrible anxiety was pretty much gone for me by month 14-16 and after that it was mostly killer exhaustion, beyond words. Like....too much effort to blink and breathe. Take good care of yourself as you recover. I'm so glad you are making the attempt to get off. I went too fast - 9 weeks - because I didn't understand they need to be tapered for sometimes years. Go slow.

OMG I've had been with that gut issue the last 3 days... It is usual to cyclists evacuate a more "liquid" pops, more soft. Wich, according to this discussion and all information on it, it is because of leaky gut, which is lack of glutamine in your system. I work as (also) a cyclist. Last week I really had not enough nutrients. Then, diarrhea for 1 day (since yesterday). Today, before I watched this, I have a huge breakfast, intuitively not caring about the "food not recommend when you have diarrhea".(3 eggs l, a thick steak (pork), veggies, fried rice.Since then, I didn't evacuated yet). Eureka. I've just found this video( already following Mr DeLaurer for years)... Thank you so much! 15:56
I worried for a moment that my diet might not have lots of glutamine, so I googled "sources of glutamine": Meat: Beef, pork, and poultry Dairy: Milk, yogurt, ricotta cheese, and cottage cheese Protein-rich non-animal products: Nuts and tofu Vegetables: Corn and red cabbage Grains: Rice and oats Hell yeah, I eat like 4/5 of those a day.

Thanks Thomas , more important info on the gut. I had no idea sir that the gut could be healed without probiotics. The y have their place big time in many functions, I originally thought it was butyrate for the entire G.I, so glutamate is a new area for me, so thank you for bringing this up.
This was a very interesting discussion. So often, people hear take more probiotics. And more...and more...and more. And it gets pretty expensive for insufficient results. Well, I did and it did not help much past a certain point. I had read about glutamine and butyrate but was uncertain how best to obtain and use these to get my gut where it needed to be. Now I understand it so much better and have the information needed to move forward.
I get frustrated with the "take probiotics" noise. You have as many as 7000 strains and they want you to take 2 or 3 or the best I've seen was 14 strains. What a waste of time and money. Kefir has up to 250 strains but still doesn't anywhere near what we need. You start to think that consuming some of a healthy ruminants gut contents, like some native groups do, would be beneficial.

…if you take GABA it is not supposed to cross the blood brain barrier ( absolute minuscule) it’s too large a molecule, so it will have no calming effect ( and many people say it has no affect ) …BUT if you take GABA and within a short period of time you feel tired…then your blood brain barrier is broken…which the speaker terms ‘ leaky brain’…so , here is a method to see if indeed your bbb is intact…and if this be the case, if someone has potential neurological issues, that will predispose one to ‘stroke’…because Glutamate is an excitatory neurotransmitter…consequently, glutamine supplementation may be contra indicated…especially with afib…however, the speaker is talking about athletes, not older people…but assuredly many seniors subscribe to Thomas…and should ask their Doctors before considering taking Glutamine…

What about the link between glutamine and cancer growth? I have gut issues and was doing better taking glutamine, but was just diagnosed with cancer and will be having surgery. I don't know what to do now....
Praying you've found answers - you can check "Block Glutamine from Cancer Naturally | Dr. Thomas Seyfried" and other information by Thomas Seyfried. Also research papers about this when you google.
I feel like this video didn’t really go into steps on how to repair or health a “leaky gut”. What I got out of it was, take more glutamine… is it that simple(?), I don’t think so.
I did, you obviously didn’t read my comment. I specifically mentioned that I didn’t get much out of it in the context of healing a leaky gut. What you are referring to is when the doc talks about co factors for GABA in the context of relaxation and sleep.
As an ultra runner my guts accumulated into painful post aid station bouts and debilitating ibs at work. Glutamine was part of the fix physicians and tests didnt find. A naturopath did.
"why do we really need to build muscle", that is such a good question. The only reason would be function. So for certain physical work, or certain sports and I don't mean lifting weights. Reasons just to look 'good' or to be able to lift massive weights just for a few seconds are just reasons to waste food and energy.
Just shut up with that parrot'ed garbage. I sleep 8 hours a night and lift 3-5x per week. Been living like that for the last 18 years. I'm 34, 6'1" 185 lbs, less than 10 percent body fat. I deadlifted 505lbs at only 195 lbs a few years ago. My gut has been FUCKED for 30 years. Sleep and exercise do NOTHING for the gut.
L glutamine speeds up recovery after surgery. It definitely will help an ibs episode .. the studies around it feeding cancer cells .. seems like it’s necessary for cell growth and recovery and not actually the cause of cancer.. maybe if you get a cancer diagnosis don’t over do the glutamine or hold off extra supplementing until post treatment. Taurine also good for gut microbium
If someone had cancer without knowing would the supplementation of glutamine augment cancer growth? I am also following Dr. Seyfried, and that is a question l often have.
Not everybody responds to glutamine the same way. Some ppl lack certain enzymes that affect gut permeability negatively. It’s not a one size fits all type of thing
This explains a lot of my issues after breaking my hip. But the intestine is more than 1 cell thick; saw lots of intestines when working as an anesthetist
I heard that the small intestine need glutamine/glutamate - not from MSG (monosodium glutamate), but neither did I hear where it should come from. I did not hear any recommended source for glutamine but I know that glutamine is in all animal proteins. Current recommendations are to consume 1 gram of animal protein for every pound of ideal body weight. ...Again, I heard no recommendations here... But maybe I missed it.
There are a number of glutamine supps (each containing several supps) which are designed to support gut lining. Protein I’m not sure has same effect and the glutamine supps say to take on empty stomach.
glutamine is from bone broth, glutamate is from uncle roger available as MSG. Yet, cooking bone broth from bones also creates gutamate frm glutamine.... ys the kitchen is a lot like a chemical lab. glutamine and glutamate are chemically similar, but not identical, particularly glutamate is NOT the salt of glutamine.
Glutamine is only 1 amino acid. Animal protein contains many different amino acids, only 4-5% of which is glutamine. In order to get 4-5 grams of glutamine you need to consume 100 grams of protein. Let's say you weigh 80 kilos and follow 2gr/kg: you'll have consumed 6.5-8gr of glutamine. To get to 10gr you would need up to 250gr of protein. Between 5-15 grams is considered moderate and safe (20+ for prolonged periods may affect the body's natural ammonia breakdown mechanisms). So 5gr on top of your protein intake will get you to about 12-13gr, assuming 80kg of body weight (assuming not overweight). Without excessive general protein intake which often causes gastrointestinal issues without additional hypertrophic benefits (unless you're juiced). L-Glutamine specifically has been shown to improve gut health in studies by improving the intestine lining, and anecdotally for me personally it makes my weak stomach quite a bit stronger. Long story short: it's safe and probably beneficial to supplement 5gr on top of your "2gr/kg bodyweight" protein intake. On days where you're consuming a lot more protein than usual you may want to skip although occasionally exceeding 20gr/d is unlikely to cause any issues.

Summary
🔬 Gut Fuel Mechanism: The small intestine depends on glutamine for energy, crucial for maintaining gut integrity and preventing leaky gut.
Insights Based on Numbers
20 grams/day: Recommended glutamine supplementation for individuals recovering from surgery or intense physical activity.

May I ask what type of antibodies dropped?

It's fixed my guts more than I thought possible.
that suggests you are gluten intolerant/have celiac disease. there's a simple blood test to confirm celiac.
For me grains/gluten are the biggest trigger too. Not the only one, but gut health got better within a few days after cutting out all grains besides white rice which is technically a grain but has no gluten.
I would say not just gluten, but wheat (gluten grains, but mainly wheat) as a whole (lectins, gliadin, etc) is a huge problem
If you eat non-nybridized wheat like Einkorn, you likely will be fine. Modern wheat strains have 30 times the amount of gluten of traditional strains.
I fixed my gut by going carnivore

Gentleman, we have to be careful when promoting the benefits of glutamine. Glutamine is one of the fuels that cancer cells needs to survive. Ingesting high levels of glutamine could scientifically increase your cancer proliferation. If you don't believe my words, please look at the many scientific studies that confirm this.
This is a great point. If you have cancer, glutamine may be a no-go. I work with many in this world and it's a great caveat. Thanks for this comment!

My oldest cat is over twenty and she looks as beautiful as her kittens. I often mistake one for the other because their colour patterns are only slightly different.
@@MJ-hl1kk I made my dogs food too her whole life. It was the beef that wore on her kidneys. It was local and grass fed too. I did give her raw meaty bones every months or so. She started having hip issues around the age of 7

I have tried glutamine supplements a few years apart & had the same reaction, that being by the second or third day I become extremely agitated & have headaches also feel toxic
@@nickibanks5185 did you have some sort of damage from an antibiotic? i put my dog on mostly fruit and salmon she diid well until i made the mistake of giving her beef again which led to Uti then a seizure that wouldn't stop so I had to end her life. I really needed this video.. I went through a terrible benzodiazepine withdrawal that I sware I am still suffering from til this day.. 7 years ago!! I ordered the tro calm and can’t wait to try it
For me something that really help my gut was consuming dates, salted almonds, turmeric capsules and the best probiotic I ever consumed (saccharomyces boulardii).
Awesome share! everyone is different here and that's the issue but I've found testing the gut and then optimizing diet/behavior can be really helpful, especially if initial dietary/behavior interventions aren't as helpful as you'd like. I typically use the GI effects 3 day stool test with my clients (and use it personally as well)
Florastor. S boulardi is a bacteria necessary !!! For arranging the gut properly. You can take all the probiotics you’d like but if there’s no conductor (Florastor - imo) then forget it!!! I say Florastor bc it’s the best one studied. They are not all equal!! I do not work for them lol. I learned bc my mom took it- when I took it …. The med I was taking started to work a little bit better. (A bit). Florastor and culturelle will help anxiety!!! LGG !!
Suggest instead of tumeric capsules use it in food prep instead .
Just to clarify for people not understanding:
Is L-glutamine related to MSG?
And while their names sound similar, and they both come from the same family of amino acids known as the glutamates, they are different. Glutamic acid is best known as a component of monosodium glutamate, while L-glutamine may be known as a supplement used by athletes to help improve immune health and recovery.
Also, MSG isn’t the big bad boogey man everyone thinks. Any adverse reactions are only present in a small percentage and it’s similar to a lactate reaction.
Just because the names sound similar doesn't mean they have the same attributes.
@@graceg3250 no, not true.
Some autistics have trouble converting glutamate to glutamine and GABA. Bifidobacterium Adolescentis could help with that. It does in my house, where we have less excitatory reactions. It's a probiotic though, which is counter to the message in this video.

May I ask how long have you been on them ? i can totally relate to you as I a
have been taking them for about 22 years now.

Go slow.
The Ashton Method is the *only* way to taper safely off of benzos. Abrupt DC can kill you and causes brain damage.

OMG I've had been with that gut issue the last 3 days... It is usual to cyclists evacuate a more "liquid" pops, more soft. Wich, according to this discussion and all information on it, it is because of leaky gut, which is lack of glutamine in your system.

Today, before I watched this, I have a huge breakfast, intuitively not caring about the "food not recommend when you have diarrhea".(3 eggs l, a thick steak (pork), veggies, fried rice.Since then, I didn't evacuated yet).

that makes a lot of sense I started taking high doses of b6 and I sleep so good now.
Don't mean to sound like a wet blanket, but B6 is the one B vitamin that can accumulate in tissues. You may not want to stay too high for too long.

This explains a lot of my issues after breaking my hip. But the intestine is more than 1 cell thick; saw lots of intestines when working as an anesthetist
Lining.
Interesting video, but please tell us how to take glutamine
On days where you're consuming a lot more protein than usual you may want to skip although occasionally exceeding 20gr/d is unlikely to cause any issues.
glutamine is in all kind of protein sources, including, of course, from plants, the best and the only which correlates with longevity in humans.
