    Indian food is rich in carbohydrates. Morning breakfast is pure carb (roti, puri, idly, dosa) and the lunch and dinner have two thirds of rice/wheat and one third of vegetables. When I came across your books and videos first I started with savoury breakfast with veg salad, boiled lentils and capsicum and few slices of apples or papaya. For lunch and diner I started with Apple cider vinegar, then I made vegetable portion to two-third and rice just one-third, nuts(almond/walnut), seeds (pumpkin/watermelon) and small cup of plain yogurt. Also I added eggs on alternate days. I eat in the same order - vinegar, veg, protein, carb). I do not eat meat. My goodness, my blood sugar levels during whole day were between 95 to 135 and after 4 months my Hba1c came down to 6.1 from 7.1. These changes you suggest are simple to practice and results are amazing. Thanks Jessie.

      I googled it. India has the 2nd highest incidence of diabetes (and its resulting complications) in the world. With their diet, it's hardly a surprise, isn't it?

    I eat 2 eggs omlete mix with onion , tomato 🍅, and spinach…. Then a veggie smoothie in the afternoon , and for dinner vegetables and salmon 🍣 fish or grilled chicken I feel great and more energetic …. It’s not about intesity it’s about consistency 🙏.

      I love it all except that Jessie says dont make smoothies out of fruit or veges as it breaks the fibre which is so important to counter glucose. Do you have dessert?

      @@iwinme9322 yes it seems like keeping fruit and fibrous veges as whole as you can is important but perhaps if you are blending cooked starchy veg that may not matter so much. Good questions to ask Jessie.

      I do believe that 'juicing' veggies/fruits filters out fiber, and is therefore not recommended.
      But a fruit/veggie smoothie (i.e. blended in a blender - not a juicer) fiber is retained. It's in smaller pieces, but is STILL fiber.

      BUT fiber is still fiber in a blended drink.

    This is the best interview. Jesse looks calmer with dr Rupy than with other doctors because dr Rupy is calm, nice, caring, humble. He let Jesse talk, he does not interrupt her to show off his knowledge and his books, products. Jesse shares a lot more informations in this interview than in other interviews. There is her book on the table. At other interviews, i do not see her book, but i see the doctor's books!!!

      You must be talking about Thomas Delauer. He wouldn’t let her speak in my opinion. I’ve already implemented some of her hacks and I am seeing a reduction in my glucose in a very short amount of time. She is the truth.

    I'm 62 years old , type 2 diabetic,and feta greek cheese with some salad works wonderful for me for breakfast. Also yogurt with flax and chia seeds, some raspberries for other options.

    Such a good podcast, guys. I love Jessie so much, I couldn't properly understand how the whole sugar, glucose, insulin stuff works until I heard a podcast with her some time ago (can't remember who with now!). I bought her latest book recently and love the fact that her recipes are so simple and easy to put together.....I'm done with complicated recipes that don't even look appetising even though I'm sure they are super healthy. At my age, a fit, healthy 74, I want it as simple as possible without compromising the health benefits and Jessie does exactly that!

    Being a prediabetic this is very good information! Thank you for doing this video. I have been on metforin for a week now and using vinegar to help out drop my blood sugar levels along with lower glycemic index foods. I have lowered spikes and leveled out my sugar levels.

    Despite years of “healthy “ muesli and fresh and dried fruits daily for breakfasts, my weight continued to rise until I started IF with Paleo diet.

    I loved the pod cast and after I watched jesse’s podcast with jay shetty 4 days ago and started applying these hacks I already feel better. It does make a lot of difference. I felt the same on a keto diet but couldn’t continue because it’s too restrictive. These hacks have same impact as of keto but with zero to no restriction. Awesome awesome awesome. 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏼👏🏼

    Grateful to Jessie who is sharing all these info. Thank you so much. However there is so little research for people with slow metabolism , especially when Thyroid disorder comes in play. Could you please address that in one of your next session please ? Half of the world is suffering with thyroid issue due to stress, pollution , etc the subject is big but all the books out there are not really tackling the issue in the way Jessie addresses the habit of eatings from a scientific perspective.

    26:12 any food that tastes sweet, even "sugar-free," can cause the brain to _think_ "sugar" and start the process of blood sugar mitigation; a process that will eventually raise blood sugar.
    Also: lots of processed foods that are not "sweet" or that are "lowfat," hence _nominally_ "healthy," are loaded with high fructose corn syrup, which is more volatile to the body's blood sugar than table sugar.
    For some people, white wheat flour also spikes blood sugar more than table sugar does.

    Although I have always been thin I am now NOT 😂…and the thing is, i am stubborn and not easy to motivate. The great thing is when I bought the second book it gave me the formula needed to make life changes. I am actually using the hacks…ten days in now and excited to see results. Personal plan is to retest blood in 3 months to see if no longer prediabetic. I have some added tricks up my sleeve but you will have to read it in my book!!! 😊😊😊😂❤

    Can just make a smoothie with water. three quarters green (lower sugar) veg, and berries. Mayne lemon juice to cut through the green taste. throw in nuts. Not a bad start.

      Homemade hummus! Read the packaging of a branded hummus: multiple chemical emulsifiers! Oh my ... At home you can soak (half hour or more) and rinse the peas too, lowering their lectin content. Lectin is the plant's natural 'chemical warfare' defense against being eaten. Lectins are in all beans and dissolve in water .... some people respond poorly to lectins. Enjoy that hummus!

    I just slice common veggies and simmer them with fresh tomatoes and onions into a soup as my first food of the day.
    Seasoned with just salt and pepper, dash of vinegar.
    Gentler on the digestive system maybe. But fiber nonetheless.

    Hello Jesse, would it be a good idea to have a teaspoon of psyllium in a cup of water before a meal if it was a carb rich meal.?
    Just asking this because if you visit someone and there aren't very many veggies, would this be a way of reducing the spike.?

      I’m not an expert but I would say it’s a good idea. This is what I often do before eating a plate of spaghetti, for instance. Funny…I was going to ask the same question about psyllium.

      It totally is because it’s the fiber that she’s talking about that blunts the glucose spike, and that’s why she tells people to eat the veggies first. Psyllium is ALL fiber, so it’s obviously the same as the veggies effect. The only reason she’s not telling people to take psyllium husk powder is because not everyone takes it and veggies are already part of most people’s diet. I‘ve been doing that for years and it’s best if you drink the psyllium powder drink before your meals and/or

    The lamington is not an Aussie's staple cake. We dont sit down eating them every day. Many modern cafes dont stock them. Bakeries make them more. Its an old recipe from Toowoomba, Queensland.

    With vinegar everyday one is going to tooth enamel pretty fast. Xylitol ( zero calorie) everyday after all meals and no food or sipping afterwards for one hour will prevent tooth decay.

    SHE always recommends vegetables first and foremost, then eat a little protein then you can have carbohydrates like a toast or oats, grains etc. VEGETABLES is the key. and that's what I have been doing since I discovered her channel. (btw in that order, Veggies, protein then carbs but little of the later) I eat my veggies raw or add them at last to the cooking so it doesn't overboil.

    I had a neighbor stop into the store around the corner to buy her "healthy" whole-food cookie that she'd been eating because the macros were good; she'd been eating a whole cookie a day. While I was there, she read the label again, and the "good macros" were _per serving,_ and the "serving size" was 1/3 of a cookie....

      Red wine ABSOLUTELY decreases my blood glucose spike after carb intake. Put on a CGM, and you'll see the difference. (maybe the reason for the French paradox.)

    My question is about stevia which has no calories but is sweet-and yet I’ve heard that it still triggers a sugar reaction-is this true? Why would this reaction happen?

      Anything sweet triggers the brain to call the pancreas to send insulin to the cells to absorb sugar. The brain cannot make the difference between stevia, honey or sugar. Even natural sugar in fruits, if you eat too much, is bad too.

      "Tasting sweet food elicits insulin release prior to increasing plasma glucose levels, known as cephalic phase insulin release (CPIR). The characteristic of CPIR is that plasma insulin secretion occurs before the rise of the plasma glucose level." so ANYthing sweet triggers your body to react like this, including stevia. Sorry!

    I tried to get a CGM- my Dr wrote the RX because I’m a type 2 diabetic. But Medicare wouldn’t approve it because I don’t take insulin and it would have cost me around $1200! Is there a way around that? Thanks

      I'd grab a full handful of baby arugula stuff it in your mouth allow it 10 minutes and then make your omelet...don't forget the benefit of spices such as cloves cinnamon, tumeric,kraft, list goes on....

    Great info, but perhaps focus on all those oxalates and salicylates not only in your product that you selling, but what foods you're recommending to others. Yes, you may be lowering glucose but you're causing other issues mainly oxalates and salicylate problems while feeding the wrong microbes in the gut.
