This has become my dream car. I make good money, but unfortunately it’s still out of reach for me. I want it so bad that it hurts every time I see a video. I’m not doing too bad with my 2018 M4, but man do I wish I could have it. Can’t have it all. Thats life.
I’ve had 3 GT3s. Driven many Cup cars on the track. I’ve driven the RS. I had a 996 GT3. 997 GT3. And now a 991.2 GT3. The RS is great if you’re wealthy enough to have a track day car only. It’s way over kill for the road. The regular GT3 is way more organic looking and is better on the road. Unfortunately I left SoCal for upper northwest so my track availability is way less. Most track enthusiasts will never get to the limits of a regular GT3. This new RS is just over the top. I’ll stick with my GT3. I love the cars and it’s the best overall experience for track and road. I love throwing a bag in the frunk( the RS has no frunk anymore) and driving all over Montana and Idaho. I love the look of the RS but id be embarrassed to put that thing on our roads. The 2018 GT3 is just awesome. I thought about the 992 but it looks like Porsche stole the rear spoiler from McClaren. 99% of track guys can’t drive the 991.1 GT3 at the limits much less these new 992 versions. I’ve had the PCCB brakes on 2 of the GT3s but again overkill. No one I know can overpower the Porsche steel brakes. The carbon seats are cool but weigh more than the standard 4 way seats that aren’t optional. They’re more comfortable on long trips than the carbon seats. I also think all the optional settings on the wheel for suspension will overwhelm 99% of most enthusiasts Lastly I like the more analog dash setup vs the new mostly digital dash on the new ones. Fine for a ford f 150 but no so much for the sports car
Really good information, even though I likely won't ever be able to afford one, thank you for the insight. I have theorized that this push for lap time with the rs is going to have to stop as some point. Porsche has upped the game so much with each new iteration of gt3 and gt3rs, you have to wonder at what point people will actually stop wanting it because it is so extreme.
@@filonizsure, if you're into the engagement factor. What's better than a rwd car with a high revving naturally aspirated engine (ideally hooked to a manual) that doesn't overwhelm the chassis to the point the car needs awd and a dct in order to get the most out of it.
Great video, I took delivery of my Spyder there and instructors are great, whole place is absolute joy. New RS absolute engineering achievement and 100mi jump from 992 gt3 (have one for 2 years ) and 500mi jump from 991.2 RS .
You're having wayyyyyyy too much fun at your job! Great job with the review. I have been considering these models as an option for moving up the ladder from my current ride. We'll have to discuss these more in depth next time I see you. Stay safe Austin.
Speed Phenom Absolutely incredible Video I'm so glad you had such an incredible time at the Porsche Experience Center in LA and that Andrew is an Awesome Teacher and I hope to see your own 992 911 GT3RS on the channel someday
Just listening to the engine sing raises my heart rate. Running that car on track is such a rush. Super focused in the moment and the adrenaline dump after the laps are over is amazing.
This is the best Porsche GT3 RS review, so engaging Santa asked me what would I like for Christmas between a Ferrari Daytona sp3 or GT3 rs. I replied a GT3 rs
You’re right. The stock splitter is weak. GM should have done better considering how much they are charging - $595 for the front splitter and low rear spoiler. I recently order a 1LT and added that option. Now starting to second guess decision.
@@WindyCity1992 I'm not a fanboy, I love cars in general and the ACR Viper is an amazing car too. I'm just saying there is something behind all the hype on this one. Saw one yesterday and they are special. Drove a 992 GT3 recently and even though I'm not a fan of the way it looks, it is a very special car. Don't discredit due to emotion or lack of experience is all I'm saying.

Man, in world of four digit hypercars the GT3 RS is the hero we didn't ask for but the one we need!
Austin you had an absolute blast. Porsche experience is definitely worth a visit. Ok when are you
gonna get GT 3RS? 😁
Great review - one of the best I’ve seen running thru the dynamics and new controls.
What a video!!! We will all own one soon 🤷🏾♂️👌🏾

Better than 911 Turbo for regular road😢?
I agree. No frunk is a bit of a no no..... Happy with my 991.2 manual with steel brakes!
I'd go one ever better if I could and get the GT3 Touring which IMO is the best version for the street.

You killed it on the drift course. Hope you end up getting one.
Wow, I am so jealous of this guy. So many cars and so many days at the track and just a gentleman driver. He's living the dream
You did a great job in this one

That was awesome! Next formula 1 driver! Let's GOOOOO! You got this!

the new 3 RS just seems so awesome in every way, couldnt imagine getting to track that thing
Enjoyed this. That looks like an incredible day.

The GT3 RS is exactly what you have been looking for - buy one (get in line).
Great car to purchase for the channel. Can go to various tracks a fiddle with the settings to set best time. All a bit much for the general punter!
Gorgeous car!!🤩🤩 I'm going to have to go to this Porsche event, looks like a blast!! GREAT INFO VERY THOROUGH & FUN!!👏👏
One of the best track cars ever made

I just spec'd mine out and ordered 3 weeks ago. Can't wait.
This is what a test should be! Nice work
Stop having so much fun! 😂
This is the car to buy. Porsche wins
What A Sick Car Brother!

What do you think of 911 base?
Still amazing and plenty of power in my opinion. I haven't driven a 992 yet but owned a 991.2 and drove several others. They're a lot of fun.
There’s not a car for the money that delivers that performance level.
Drift course 👍,
is it salt on the track ?
No run off room on that track! Yikes Man!!
Should of done apples to apples , 992 GT3RS vs 991.2 GT3RS , worth the extra 100k to upgrade ??
The idea is, you're not going to need all that down force on regular road, actually make you slower. That's why there is TS.
😮
Notification Squad
👍👍👍👍👍
GT2rs
It can almost keep up with your 600lt right??? 😂
If they only sold at MSRP! Porsche is loosing real customers.
it would have been a nice video if you hadn't spoken at all. just my opinion
Porsche builds a great car but they're definitely overrated!
How many have you owned? I already know the answer.

That doesn't discredit his point
