@@IsaacandadlerI agree. I suppose it’s clickbait & in the end, these kinds of content are only earners if a LOT of people watch them. Truth be told, I love what Mat’s accomplished, but I’ve pretty much exhausted the format. I don’t want to watch him repair & mod high end cars. It also becomes an unwinnable game of top trumping himself. Where do you go once you’ve repaired two Coparts GT3s? A crashed Merc SL63, pretty please? I saw a brand new one, a convertible, in egg yolk yellow and black, in Tenerife. Looked awesome. Sounds even better. What a daft car though. There’s almost no storage in one of these.

All this brings back memories, i once worked as a body fitter in a garage, removing the damage and refit once panel beaters and painters did their work. Had a few very nice cars to work on but, it was 40 years ago and cars today are made to have repairs done and helps the garage work if ever needed. VW, Audi, Porsche and Bugatti were some of the cars worked on, so much has changed over the years. Great work and always learning..
@@GucciKing-bi4rv i work in a lexus ceritified bodyshop, and have worked in several other busy dealer and insurance prefered shops and 100k a year is attainable if you are good, and work hard and long hours, you are paid flat rate, so the more work you turn the more you make. it's a very technical trade, so there is alot to it, whether you pursue being a body man, or a painter. it takes years of learning and hands on experience to get good and fast, but if you are in a good shop, you can make plenty of money, i'm third generation paint and body, so i have been around it my whole life, but overall it's a good trade, and you get to see the fruits of your labor, so it's fufilling in that way, and i kind of need to be my work to be fufilling

It’s perfectly fine for torquing the wheel bolts, just don’t use a torque wrench for removing them. As you can see he is over torquing the tool (you can hear the click) which isn’t good for the tool.
@@bromskiii4017 I am sure he could rebuild it cheaper, but the 24 hr limit made him getting any part he could get hands on even if it means they are overpriced. But again the journey what makes it count 🤷♂️

992 GT3 prices have dropped significantly. Cheapest one with 12k miles is now selling for £160k. This built cost nearly £140k without labour cost. So i think it is not a good option for other people thinking of buying a wrecked GT3 to rebuild. Congrats on your GT3 and great job gifting your dad a rebuilt Ferrari. it is just beautiful and i hope you will do an update on it.
yeah but thats the cheapest with 8k extra miles and theres a 99% chance it doesnt have all of the add-ons that this one has. its very likely this was worth the money.
this just came up on my recommendation and i had nothing else to watch (crazy saying that on this site), but damn you look so genuinely excited, like crazily enjoying what you do and it just seems so contagious. what a brilliant video and thank you for that fun 41 minutes of excitement!
I love all the minute details you share. Instead of “we put in headlights” you share the bits of transferring the modules and fans. And the torque specs on the wheel could have just said -put on these wheels and torqued to spec! Just feel like I’m really getting taught things!
Doesn't work out financially. You can get none crashed 992 GT3's for around the same this has cost Mat. So realistically Mat has lost probably around £10-20k.
@@dickie35 2022 GT3 Clubsports with PCCBs and around 5k miles have a trade in value of £135k at OPCs. There's one being sold privately on the online Porsche groups for £147k. Unbelievable yet again. Your hard work and determination are second to none. 24 hours is a very short time to rebuild and wrap a car. It’s taken me longer to change my suspension let alone rebuild a car! Awesome work fellas well done.
Mat , i just love how you get to spend time with your dad rebuilding these supercars while chasing your dreams , i'm happy so see how the porsche turned out , WHAT A W :) !!!!!!!!!!!!!
When you bought Adam’s gt3, I thought it would be impossible to rebuild, given how new and rare the 992’s are. Yet, you just got ANOTHER ONE. Props to you man, you are one VERY lucky (and hardworking) man
Just a little heads up. Your not supposed to use the torque wrench attachment for breaking the centerlock loose. It should of come with a solid breaker bar attachment that is used for breaking it loose. It's shorter, but you can put a pipe over it or use a torque multiplier attachment with it. Then you put the torque wrench attachment on to torque it to spec.
Happy New Year Matt! I started watching you a couple years ago and in that time you have come from a kid who leaned heavily into his Dad for help to a man who pulls his own weight. The Haltech system is icing on the cake!!! I get the I/O and wiring harness with all the wires, I geek out and get excited seeing that stuff !!! (I design and install energy management control systems for supermarkets and buildings in my day job). One thing I would add or be prepared for, is a return style fuel management. I’m not a big fan of deadheading anything. I love the RS3: having owned two S3s, I’m definitely looking to get one, that or a Mercedes A45S AMG😘 I’ve looked at optioned new ones and you’re getting close to a decent 911, provided you’re prepared to accept a few years of age. Not yet decided. All three choices are mouthwatering. One problem is that strictly, I don’t need a car & secure parking will consume half my workshop.
its refreshing having your dad and the camera man get up to some mischief. a good mix of seriousness and goofiness in a well made video. please keep this camerman on. hes a g
Shout out, to Matt's Dad!! You 🪨!! Canada ❤ you+
The builds just keep getting better!!! your dad and friends are awesome!!!
What behind the 24hours challenge? Should take your time 😂
@@IsaacandadlerI agree.
Bringing his dad to the channel was the most wholesome thing he could've done, love seeing him ❤
From a mechanic perspective. Hats off you to Matt. This sort of thing I’ve been watching you for ages. Taking bigger and harder challenges on every time. Can’t wait to see what the next challenge is
Seriously when he popped the hood I was like why the hell did you buy that 😅😂 Shit is bent up and beat everywhere.
No way ! You just keep going bigger, so great to watch your journey ! Loving every step! 👏🤙

Amazing Mat, well done mate.
He will end rebuilding crashed starships... crazy
The energy you two trade between you will have you both youngsters forever.
If the car is your dream car then yeah, of course it's worth it to you! You aren't fixing her up to sell, you fixed her up for your personal enjoyment and she also has a story, the memories that you, your dad, and your buddies had fixing her up are priceless!

Mat is refreshing in that he actually finishes builds and hasn't allowed his success to go to his head. Running around pretending to be celebrity would only cause your channel to suffer. Really enjoy watching you and your dad work so well together.
A bot sadly has copied your comment and botted the likes.
I love your dad he’s so funny and nice
What a way to keep subscribers loyal.... drop a complete (almost) build video that anyone else would've release in a dozen episodes! Great content again, and a great New Year's gift to your viewers. Bravo!
hard work beats talent
Agreed! This is how you get 2.1M
@@hendrikvandenberg I disagree with Mat's catchphrase. I think he's proven he's incredibly talented, given that it's all self-taught. He's clearly not afraid of a bit of hard work, but he's most certainly also talented.
To qualify this, I *don't* work hard! I am seft-taught in my profession, and I am talented. I've worked my way into a position where I have loads of free time, and also spend winters in the sun.
Work smart, not hard, is my motto! 😉
Nothing wrong with that
How you’ve not got a TV programme is beyond me. Personable, informing, and interesting. What a journey you’re on, Mat!
Because this content is better than a tv show, and he can do as he wants.. to get in tv you have to jump so many hoops and say yes to everyone
Why the hell would he want a TV program telling him what to do? That would be a huge downgrade in what is already top class quality entertainment

The fact that this was almost an entire rebuild of one of Matt's dream cars, in under one hour is absolutely ridiculous. Hats off to you mate, I know that was an amazing 24 hours!
The relationship with your dad is absolutely incredible. I love watching the fact that you and him work so close together!

How much did you make a year or however you were paid? I'm really interested in following through with something similar as a career path
@GucciKing-bi4rv I worked for an Audi & VW company, and we had the equipment to do any car....this was, however, 40 odd years ago. Garage is gone now.

Normally i don't watch 40 minute long video's, but this 40 minutes was worth it to watch. Love to the Porsche and love to the team Mat.
he is also the only youtuber where a 40 minute video doesnt feel like 40 minutes.
I like Mat a lot but, he should stop calling a Porsche a Porsch. It is not a Porsch.! They called it a Porsch in the 70,s to make it sound chic. Here in Germany it`s an insult. Porsche...!!!!!!!!!! That car is, and was always build for driving. Driving and not a status symbol...

The cameraman done an amazing job indeed.
You guys are insane to have your Dad and all your mates helping out build your dream car is epic on so many levels - buckets of respect from me hope you all have a brilliant 2024 😎👌
Would recommend using a breaker bar instead of a torque wrench to remove the wheels in order to preserve the calibration of your torque wrench
The centre lock needs some ridiculous torque, IIRC 800 nm so that oversized torque wrench might very well be rated for that
It’s perfectly fine for torquing the wheel bolts, just don’t use a torque wrench for removing them. As you can see he is over torquing the tool (you can hear the click) which isn’t good for the tool.

992 GT3 prices have dropped significantly. Cheapest one with 12k miles is now selling for £160k. This built cost nearly £140k without labour cost. So i think it is not a good option for other people thinking of buying a wrecked GT3 to rebuild. Congrats on your GT3 and great job gifting your dad a rebuilt Ferrari. it is just beautiful and i hope you will do an update on it.
yes but you arent getting a nick faldo drunked up crash model with a new one. Just sayin the history...
yeah but thats the cheapest with 8k extra miles and theres a 99% chance it doesnt have all of the add-ons that this one has. its very likely this was worth the money.

what a brilliant video and thank you for that fun 41 minutes of excitement!
I love all the minute details you share. Instead of “we put in headlights” you share the bits of transferring the modules and fans. And the torque specs on the wheel could have just said -put on these wheels and torqued to spec! Just feel like I’m really getting taught things!
You are now a proper certified Porsche tech. Making it look like easy and got me thinking I could rebuild a 992 myself. Great work Mat and team
Doesn't work out financially. You can get none crashed 992 GT3's for around the same this has cost Mat. So realistically Mat has lost probably around £10-20k.
But the video makes up for his loss
@@HondaExige1 it’s not always about profit or saving a buck. It’s about the experience and the story.

May I beg to differ on the actual colour vs. the black wrap cover. The charcoal grey looks dope, man. It rocks. But, hey, you're the man.
Should have wrapped it in white to accent the black parts.

This is one heck of a project you got going on! Really digging the transformation already. Eagerly waiting to see how it all turns out.
Enjoying this channel very much. Agate Gray is the best Porsche color, especially with the yellow calipers.
It's fine to use a torque wrech backwards but when u over torque it backwards that's an issue

I did a return style on my 914 with the MSD throttle body injection and the fuel pressure stays solid and the temp also stays cool as it constantly keeps moving.
