Here we GO! It’s time to find out which Porsche GT sports car is best in a drag race!
We’ve got our hands on the all-new Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and it’s going up against a GT3, GT4 RS and a GT4! The question is, will it be a clean sweep for the new GT3 RS? Well, let’s take a closer look at the stats.
Starting with the GT3 RS, it’s powered by a 4-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six engine that can deliver 525hp and 465Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it weighs in at just 1,450kg. But while it’s relatively low on weight, it comes with a hefty price tag, with prices starting from £192,000, and rising to upwards of £235,000!
Alongside it, we have the GT3. Naturally, it comes with the same 4-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six, which in this instance puts down 510hp and 470Nm. This is sent to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch, and to pick one up now it will cost around £146,000.
Then we get to the Caymans. They’re both powered by 4-litre naturally-aspirated flat-sixes, with the GT4 RS putting down 500hp and 450Nm, while the GT4 delivers 420hp and 430Nm. The GT4 RS is the lightest car here, at 1,415kg, while the GT4 matches the GT3 RS at 1,450kg.
It’s easily one of the best-looking drag races we’ve ever run, but will these track-focused legends make for an exciting race in a straight line? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

New Porches are too big. Look at how much bigger they are now vs the 80's, they used to be a nimble sports car that were not overweight. New 911's are the size of family cars!

This Porsche video was not as good as the other ones. The new Porsche are too big and heavy they need to make them better sizes like they did in the past. Porsche's are not as nimble as they once were and when you drive one you feel like you are driving small truck 😂

For the price and the fact it was able to be ordered the GT4 looks pretty good .
They are made for different purposes. In a road or circuit gt3rs would smoke all others because of the aerodynamics. It can go much faster on corners.

Based on the audio, the GT4RS sounds like the most raw and visceral experience, I’d take that! Since I’d be rich, I’d then buy a Porsche 911 touring for daily driving :)

Honestly, the GT4RS was probably the most impressive. Being able to live with the two 911's is definitely punching above it's weight and Yanni's launch in the second drag race... wow he 100% nailed that start!
IF you look at the stats of the car its really not that impressive at all.

I also agree, a track test would make sense.
Not sure if its true or not, but apparently the Cayman GT4 / RS Spec chassis out performed the 911 Chassis when it was first released.
It was also given a 4.0 Ltr but not the GT3 4.0, an entirely different engine all together.
Would have made the 911 obsolete had they shared the same Spec 4.0 .
The GT3 and RS version are far more pollished and a lot prettier but the GT4 / RS for what you get its a bargain and has the potential to match the GT3 on the track.

Nothing Can beat Natural aspirated engines with high RPM
And as a GT4RS owner I can tell you the sound in all videos in TH-cam is nowhere near what it’s actually like when sat in the car. I tend to upshift at 6-7k rpm just to avoid blowing out my eardrums. On track blasting to 9k over and over again it’s just scary😅

Saw a new GT3 and GT3 RS (white and yellow) on the Autobahn together yesterday. Looked awesome together.

I just saw a GT4RS in person on Broadway Nashville and let me tell you the camera does not do it enough justice.. the car is absolutely beautiful! I wish I could’ve just sat and stared at it but im sure someone would’ve thought i was going to steal it. 😂

This video was just ok. New Porches are gigantic in size and overweight. Porsche used to be better in the 80s when they were a more manageable car in terms of size, now they are almost the size of small trucks 😆

3:38 the GT4 has not the same 4L than the others. It’s the 3L biturbo from 992 carrera without turbo and and stroked to 4L
This is true for the 2016 981 model only. The 718 is bespoke 4L Flat6 based on the Carrera S.

Gotta say, I agree on the GT4. Just looked up the stats for the American version and it ran an 11.6 1/4 mile at 121 mph. Excellent for a car with that kind of power thanks to that PDK transmission. 😁

Great comparison. FYI, noticed your suction cup camera mount. If you want to capture the best footage angle I use the RoadSpy RS1 on my Cayman. Way way better than those suction cups.
What I love about these cars, is you can make a compelling case for each being your favourite. They're all fantastic.

I've owned numerous Porsches throughout the years and recently bought a 718 Cayman S with several upgrades. It is the best handling, driving car I've ever driven other than a GT3RS. For the money, I could not be happier.

I love the GT4RS but man if you are over 6 feet getting in and out of that car is a pain lol. Those seats are crazy but once you are in them you aren’t going anywhere. Awesome cars for sure
I got so used to seeing heavy cars on carwow, when I saw the weights of these porsches I gasped in awe as I have finally seen a car lighter than myself.

@blazesmooth5573 2-3x, yeah. Just saying, they aren't light. You can put a v8 in a miata and it will still weigh 350kg less. If anyone would actually buy a $100k miata, maybe mazda would do it!
@@mitchellsteindler yeah but Porsche offers also luxuries and that weighs some kilos + the aero package add also weight and of course the engine + the auto gearbox compared to a Miata and especially the dimensions are not the same. Put in a Miata or a a110 a bigger engine, luxuries stuff, aero kit, a cage, 335 tires, a bigger body and you will see the weight. Theses 911 or cayman are pretty light for what they offers but yeah a lotus or a a110 are lighter

To be honest, since its out the GT4 RS has been my favourite car, i had the pleasure to sit on the passanger seat of one and i have to say, the sound of that thing gives me EVERYTHING.

For drag races, a standard 992 C4S can take on any of these 4 GT models including the 3RS. NA motor simply doesn’t have the torque of the turbo engine.
