I finally made it to Kosovo! I've been wanting to visit for the longest time, and got the perfect opportunity after meeting my Kosovar friend Amra on Instagram ( / amra.skenderi . She introduced me to a unique wedding tradition that was once very common among the Bosniak Kosovar people. I decided to try it out for myself and travelled to meet with Amra, and her aunt Aziza, who is the last woman in Kosovo to create this traditional bridal look.
As you'll learn in the video, this bridal tradition is on the verge of extinction. I sincerely hope that Aziza finds other women capable of carrying it forward so that it can continue to flourish here in Kosovo.
P.S. I got 2 COVID-19 tests in the days directly before visiting Aziza in her village, and of course tested negative.

Isn’t it BEAUTIFUL?! I still cannot believe I got a chance to get dressed up and made up by Aziza, in the traditional Bosniak style. Huge thank you to Amra, Aziza, and Hamit who was behind the camera, helping me film! Hope you all enjoy this amazing tradition 😍✨

This is not a specific *Bosnian* tradition.
It is more like a tradition in and around the *Kosovan, macedonian and Albanian* border region (gora region).
Because this kind of clothing/makeup is also worn by *Albanians* of that region and I have heard about some *macedonians/bulgars** that wear a similar thing but I am not sure.
      Still, great video ^^

@Arbër Shpataj Why Islam!? Just for your information Islam is a religion not a culture! You can be Shqiptar (with your traditions) and muslim too (or catolic, or just nothing)
      And now Skanderbeu,
He was skilled fighter, probably strong man and great general.
But he was also trained by Ottomans and raised in Ottoman Empire
And the most paradoxical is that he was also Serbian or Albano-Serbian if you prefer,
His mother was Vojisava from old serbian family Branković, his brother was Staniša, sister Jelena... 🤔
He fought together with his brothers Serbs against Ottomans but also against Albanians who did not accept him as a leader..

It is more like a tradition in and around the *Kosovan, macedonian and Albanian* border region (gora region)

    • @pabloescobar2770
      @pabloescobar2770 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

She mentioned it herself, this wedding tradition is very very rare, meaning not even Bosnians practice it like this, only a small amount of Kosovar Bosniaks still have it and we, as Albanians and everyone in Kosovo should feel proud of what treasure our country contains, these people like Aziza are really wonderful and they are part of our country no matter what ethnicity they are. Respect from a Kosovar Albanian. 🖐

    • @tosk2098

@@pabloescobar2770 yes im with you i dont have nothing against Bosniaks but when your TH-cam channel/video has the title "Kosovo Wedding Tradition" than you have to post the Kosovo Tradition, not the minorities that all of them combined make only 7% of the population. The indigenous Albanians there make 93%. You speak about Kosovo than you have to show the Kosovo Tradition. I never saw someone going to Greece and showing the Turkish Wedding Tradition calling it the "Greek tradition"...
