In the UK we have powered wheel barrows , I’m sure they come in various sizes but the ones we use at work fit through a 1m wide gate
The great thing is they are powered by a lawn mower engine and run on rubber caterpillar tracks like a tank , so they are easy to use and maintain and will go just about anywhere without damaging the ground they run on , so any neighbours should be ok with it
Back to the Defender? Thats cool. Vilk is such a nice dog now that he has grown up. It is always so good to see him. As for living in a tent; its a good way to be sure you will be traveling somewhere within a couple of years unless you build something more stable. I am so fortunate to have lived in the mountains my whole life, but in a house. Once I had a house burn to the ground and I lived in a 10x10 cabin with a loft through the winter on my property. I had animals and couldn't leave them, so I lived much like them. It was eye opening. To this day I have a cast iron bathtub in my front yard with a fire pit under it. Every so often I fill it and light the fire and hang out in the tub for the night. I love it. As for relationships, I value my friends most of all. I had a bumper stick at a time that said "A friend is someone who knows all about you and likes you anyway". That is true still, and always will be. The rest of people are aquaintences or friendly aquaintences. No social media, no online anything, and I am happy. I play actual board games with my friends such as chess, mancala, and dice games. I have an amazing life. You have a much more public sort of life, also amazing in your own way. Whatever it is you do next I wish you the best. Thank you for sharing in such a human way, where everything does not have to be exactly perfect with each and every hair in place. That perfect life is simply not real. It is so nice to some real life from someone who is so well known. You have made an impression on me, and that is not easy to do. I hope so much to see again on the TED platform. I would be so interested to hear what you would have to say since the age of 28.
This is amazing news, Eva, congratulations! What a beautiful spot on earth you've found. 🥰 The tent (or is it a yurt?) looks perfect for now, and I absolutely love the new tattoo. The reminder to "follow your bliss" is such a beautiful sentiment. My dream for the future is living remotely in my home country of Switzerland in the Alps. I’m still not sure if it’s possible and curious if my vision will change! Switzerland definitely isn't as wild as Poland or Sweden or other countries...

Living in isolation for long and wandering from place to place is eventually going catch up and not in a nice way. Still gave her some encouragement though because that's her passion. I leave it at that. Just don't make it a trend
Consider putting your food into a tight-lidded metal box or something instead of the basket - just so that mice can't get to it and will be less tempted to chew through your tent :)
Yes, metal. I used a plastic food cooler with tight fitting lid while camping. The lid is double wall, with insulation between. I felt it was safe from small animals. There were no bears in the area bc this cooler was not safe from them. When I returned to my camp, I came upon a squirrel that almost chewed through the lid to get at the food. One more minute was all he needed. So I agree with all metal food storage to keep the small animals out.
Hi Eva. Insulate the tent. Get a wood coal stove with plenty of fuel for it. Make sure your portable battery stays charged.
Consider getting an ATV for emergencies.

i left the cities in 1973, and moved to the Canadian- Minn.( Lake of the Woods area.) i lived in Tee pee's, and went back to the earth lifestyle. Nomads flow with the weather. So how do you plan on getting thru the winters? A huge adventure onto itself...Thank You for continuing the dream...

Eva, please, please do not fall into the habit of saying "like" in every sentence. You never used to do that. You probably picked it up during your trip to the USA, but it's a verbal tick and so annoying and hard to get rid of once it takes root. That aside: great work. This is what I like about following what you're up to, that reminder there are people just doing their things -- and that they are often bound together in some manner through their decisions to pursue things they want to do. It's always strange when someone's first reaction to something is, "Well I could NEVER do that!" as though they were asked to! Since childhood, my reaction's always been, "Cool!" -- even to the things that are not something I'd do.
If something's not one's thing, it seems much easier to move on than criticize others for not living (or being) like them...

The road situation will eventually work itself out (I imagine) ... there are a couple of YT'rs who have some really good shorts on different knots, you might wanna check them out as your tent might benefit from the extra security during high winds or a storm. Always trust in the faeries 🧚🏻🧚🏻🧚🏻 Raspberry vodka sounds divine! You're totally doing it ... keep up the good work!
So, Eva, what happens if you get really sick or heaven forbid, you break a leg? When you get older? You should probably build a road or something so that you can easily get in and out.

Get a cart and harness for Vilk and let him pull it up. Or just buy a mule. You have the land to keep it fed for free! Miners in the American West used mules to haul everything everywhere.
"Best or worst decision of your life"? I'm going with "worst". Just wait until winter hits, and it's hovering around zero, and you're snowed in. Vilk will be looking at you like:"Man, this sucks...can't we get a nice warm hotel room somewhere?" We all love you Eva, and want you to be safe. Living in a tent in the wilderness is probably NOT the best idea. No roads, no electricity, questionable water access. Ah well, as a father, I'm used to my children totally ignoring advice I give them....the beat goes on. You're next adventure will show us how happy you are now that you got the hell out of that tent, and pursued a more "normal" lifestyle. Love you! Please be careful. Stay warm!

@@GuyWithTheDogs As I said, I care about Eva a lot. Nomadic lifestyles worked well with the plains Indians, where all they wanted to do was hunt buffalo. Eva is a smart lady with idealistic visions of Utopia in a nature setting. That's fine. She will find out that living in a tent may not be all it's cracked-up to be. I live in an old home with no central heat, I use space heaters in the winter, and still the temperature inside when it's freezing outside is in the 40's...fahrenheit. Imagine what a tent would be like.

When you make yourself a "public" person by airing your life on TH-cam, and there is an avenue for comments...good or bad, then we should feel free to express our opinions. I am not "clucking" over her, I'm 66-years-old, I've lived a life of many ups and downs. I'm grateful she wants to share a part of her life with us, but don't act like we cannot participate in discussions concerning her. If she wants to live in a tent...so be it.

I could 100% live in a bell tent - on the right land.
A tatami mat wasn't made as a mattress, it was made as a floor section and that's why it's pretty hard. Here in Japan there are still many people who have and sleep on tatami floors, but the vast majority the put a futon, a traditional Japanese mattress on top of it. If you can be comfortable on the tatami alone that's amazing, but if not adding a pad or mattress may be worth consideration.

Given the situation in the world right now, Eva, you are probably in the best place possible. You might want to look into getting a pair of “saddle bags” for Vilk. This will make foraging, etc. a lot easier because what you are going to discover that if you don’t have some way gathering (and hauling) a lot of food most of your time will be spent foraging for food. Another thin you might want to look into investing ing is a collection of light weight ratchet straps. These will make tightening and securing your tent a lot easier.
It looks like the “fairies” have welcomed you into their domain.

It’s looking very cozy Eva 😍 that stove is going to help a lot! I’ve seen other TH-camrs camp in these tents with the stoves during winter and they are perfectly fine. You can do it! If it doesn’t work out you always have another year to build another shelter before the next winter. I would still keep the tent though because it’s beautiful and your guests can stay there too.
Nice land, cool tent. Four walls cut you off from our Circadian Rhythms? They invented windows and doors that allow light in, a long time ago. Winter storms are coming try not to trap yourself in a storm ... have a plan B/C as you are not a Mongolian nomad ; ) Best of luck
I have been reading about torrential rains in that region of Europe. Please stay safe - I suppose you are safe living uphill, but beware of roads washing out etc. I live in Vermont, US and so much damage has been caused by these biblical flooding situations.
Tent can be ("almost") as cozy as house (or a van). Maybe not so comfortable or not so equipped. Paul young singed "where ever I lay my hat (that's my home)". Winter is coming, so you need a real good stove and proper insulation on your floor (assuming that your tent is good enough). If you spent weeks or even months in your "queendom" absolutely must as a Finn is Sauna (also available a form of tent)! You seems quite happy, so enjoy your stationarity for a while💫
Ive.considered the same.set up. Using a small wood powered heater with the safety vent is practical. I'm going to try to attach two pics of a tent like yours for temp use and one that's set up for 4 seasons. Study some Native American teepee, still available for 4 season living. Slightly different. If I can't set the photos here I'll find another of your channels.
Nope no photos. But suggestion on a very heavy duty organic storage discourages wildlife. Essential in Montana, Wyoming.

Pics if a fine tent like yours elsewhere. There are.way to insulate the inside for heavy rain/winter. ❤
You can use a small moped/mountain motorbike kind of vehicle to transport between your tent and car.. Just a thought.

The looks alright for fair weather. However it seems really light weight protection for the cold time of the year. Uninsulated canvas will have huge heat loss. Even with a stove inside. Depends on how cold it actually gets there. Good luck.

here in the states whats becoming popular are tiny houses they are delivered completely made and you just move in and in the future add to them as much as you want and they are so cute and efficient and so cheap
Enjoy your property and solo life while you're young and fit and have the resources. My wife and I had some property we had to sell after we got a little older and finding that we spent more time and effort transporting in the things needed for daily life than actually enjoying the place. I think I'd train Vilk to carry his own food in saddlebags to lighten the load a little.
The land and tent seems like so much fun. Looks like you could tie your tent supports to the decking and would not have to depend on or keep adjusting the ground stakes. Sleeping on those mats will be challenging at first for a few days but it will then become the most restful sleep and your body will feel amazing 👌 when I floorslept for some time I really enjoyed knowing that literally ANYWHERE could be my bed 🤗

I'm sure you're working on addressing the access issues. The number one thing I see most offgrid/homesteaders tackle is road access when buying raw land so, totally normal and expected.
Your a free soul, you should have grown up in the late 60s and 70s. You remind me of that time in my life, so enjoy your uniqueness.

Suggest you add a weatherproof toolbox to the site for those tools you don't want to haul to the site on every visit. Consider adding a block and tackle set and a come-a-long for moving heavy items.

My dream for years was to build a yurt. I bought a retired schoolbus, instead. After a blowout on the way to Texas from Washington, it's never run happily since. As such, I've been parked here in Texas so long that the tires are questionable and the one battery is bad, probably both. And my vision is waning as I keep my eyes open for a final landing spot for my bus. Texas isnt it.
Love your videos; I like to think that my life might have been similar had I chosen quite differently when I was young. I'm a late bloomer, but wildflowers rebloom in the most quirky, whimsical ways.

Teach Vilk to pull a sled! Trucker's hitch is a good for tightening loads.
You need to get a sled you can pull rather than carrying everything on your back. Oh and when you can upgrade, consider a smaller Yurt, they make them insulated and can be ordered with a snow rated roof and an opening for a wood stove!!!

This is great you have a home now.
Not sure if and how you solved "the" problem, but for my cabin I bought a compost toilet. The "house" came as a kit on a palett, the second palett was the container and "chair" . Not too expensive (1600€) but works great if you dont let "it" get too wet! Been using it over 3 years on numerous weekends and vacations and the 200l bucket is still only 1/3 filled. At the end I will yave nice fertilizer for the garden. 😁
Isolation brings peace to life, and peace attracts the right people. You don't stop meeting people when living in isolation, you start meeting the right ones.
A great many people lived in what are called walled tents during the Great Depression. Those tents are still made and are somewhat similar to what you have now. They are most often bigger and most important they have a chimney hole . You can then have a wood burning stove so you can have heat . Boil water all that good stuff. As for you land did you know you would have to build a road in order to live there ? I hope you knew about that before you bought the place.

Eva you r a very positive person. That goes such a long way in life. Your living the way that makes you happy. If i was alot younger i would live like you are for a weekend. Would you consider at one point building a roof over the tent to make it more winter approved. If your not at this time going to do anything with the road. Why not get an ATV to get into your place? I have been trying over the last couple of years to become a minimalist.

A hunting cart. One used to throw on an elk. Can easily modify for carrying her needs.. carts designed for ease when loaded and pulling up a hill.
