The fact that Kevin McAllister puts on a huge napkin to prevent the ice cream from getting all over that sweater made me so proud of him (as a mom of a 7yr old lol).. but the white sweater was definitely the best one.

The boy even showered himself, cleaned the dishes, did his own laundry... not to mention the whole saving the house from being robbed thing and the bravery it took to stand up to those guys. It is easily one of my favorite Christmas movies, even if his family treated him poorly. Kevin's parents should've definitely saved him from Uncle Frank and put him in his place since the beginning.. but I digress 😅

How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) is the definitive Christmas movie for knitwear. They created so many custom pieces for that movie. I particularly love Christina and Junie’s outfits.
I’m watching “A Christmas Story” and keep saying to my husband “Oh she should cover all these knits there are so many good ones!” The striped hat, the mom’s hoodie scarf all the mittens and sweaters! So good!

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation has some epically beautiful stranded colorwork 80s sweaters. Beverly D'Angelo specifically gets some really pretty ones to wear! Definitely worth watching/mentioning, if you've not see it already.

I LOVE finding knitwear inspiration in kdramas but the very best (imo) is definitely "Crash Course in Romance" because there are so many textured and crocheted sweaters - like every episode! 10/10 highly recommend 👍

For long scarves get yourself a sentro knitting machine (it’s a toy knitting machine and it super cheap (£35) compared to a regular knitting machine (£800). You can make the grinch scarf or the long red one in a day. I love my sentro and my channel is an hommage to its versatility ❤. And I also agree. I love that grinch movie. The dog and the moose make it!!!!
My favorite one is the white one that little Kevin is wearing! I can’t not focus on knitwear when watching something. Some movies and series where I found inspiration recently were ‚When harry met sally‘, some Friends episodes, esp. Ross‘ sweaters and the Netflix Christmas series ‚Dash&Lily‘.
Edith Head did the amazing designs for White Christmas! A film you would probably love is A Castle for Christmas. Set in Scotland and features a knitting club!
Themed movies are my favorite of all. Halloween or Christmas I do not care, I just love the vibe. For a very long time my favorite were the unmentionable harry potter iykyk and both Harry's red cable sweater and Ron's "R" sweater are ICONIC. The knits and crotchet stuff in those movies are amazing just because we know that there is a hard core knitter giving everyone handknit gifts for the holidays. Now my fave are any and all Grinch movies, the holiday and while you were sleeping (her flower scarf omg omg omg) so we have similar tastes. One other not necessarily holiday movie that I love to cozy up and ball my eyes out is the lake house with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. Man oh man the outfits AND the house.

While You Were Sleeping - her sweaters are even better when you realize it was a subtle but genius choice to reference her backstory - she recently lost her dad. Those oversized sweaters were her dad's sweaters and she's wearing them to feel close to him. I want to know who decided to go that direction in the movie because it's a truly inspired costuming choice.
That sweater vest is shaped into points on the bottom, you can tell from the diamond pattern, the diamonds run parallel with the triangular shape, but are disected vertically along the button band. Hope this makes sense, love your vibe and your kitties! ❤

It has humour and is sweet, a sort of modern fairy tale, but I discovered also some very nice crocheted garments weared by the two other nice characters of the movie: Denée Benton, who played Julie and Jordyn McIntosh, who played Eve. Harry Potter and the philosophers stone has always somewhat registered as a Christmas movie for me, then again the whole series of movies have strong christmas/winter chunks with a fair few knitwear. Oh and uh.. Violent Night if you like action and Santa, but might be lacking in amount of knits. There's at least one! But I don't remember if there are others.
I remember sitting in the theater, watching The Grinch, and thinking, "wow, there's so much color ... it's kinda pretty actually." Lowkey sad Christmas Vacation didn't get featured. I watched (granted not a Christmas movie) Heretic last night and I could NOT STOP looking at Hugh Grants sweater and it makes me wish my knitting skills were as advanced as my crochet because by lord I need to see someone recreate this because it is a work of ART

My Grandma’s name was Merry💖! My husband loved that Grinch movie, you are not alone😁. My favourite Christmas movies are the original Grinch animation, Elf, & A White Christmas. One we saw this that I thought was really sweet was The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Will we ever get to meet Mr. Breathing Yarn?
That's amazing! and Mr.Breathing Yarn is inspired by Dolly Parton's husband. I think he gets a kick out of being a mystery/elusive figure lol. He has promised he'd be in a video learning how to knit if I ever got a million subscribers (so I think he'll remain in the shadows forever).

Hello and thank you, what a nice theme! 😊 I discovered recently a nice little Christmas movie called "Genie" (2023), with Paapa Esiedu and Melissa McCarthy. It has humour and is sweet, a sort of modern fairy tale, but I discovered also some very nice crocheted garments weared by the two other nice characters of the movie: Denée Benton, who played Julie and Jordyn McIntosh, who played Eve. I liked them very much! I like also your preferences about movies and knitting. I wish you a beautiful Christmas and a Very Happy New Year! 😊🤗❤

I crochet, but bought yarn that was too fluffy, I couldn't see the stitches. So I learned to knit and I now do have this craaaaaazy long scarf. I am 1.75 M and when I twist it around my neck once it still hits my shoes.

My favorite Christmas movie is the Krampus film directed by Michael Dougherty. I should rewatch to see if there's any fun knits in that. Haha I only recently learned to knit and never really paid attention to knits in films before.

Harry Potter and the philosophers stone has always somewhat registered as a Christmas movie for me, then again the whole series of movies have strong christmas/winter chunks with a fair few knitwear. Oh and uh.. Violent Night if you like action and Santa, but might be lacking in amount of knits. There's at least one! But I don't remember if there are others.
