I would pair your berries and cream vest with a pair of black slacks, and shoes that pick up some of the vest colors if you have them. Otherwise I'd do black shoes with socks that maybe pick up the vest color. But thats just how I'd style it, I think you look great with jeans too and you have really done some great knitting! So glad I found your channel!
So much I could comment on in this great video. I just found your channel today, loving it ❤ I'm a very experienced crocheter (more basic knitter) and I'm very impressed by your output last year. You have a real feel and flare for the art of making practical and beautiful pieces. Thank you for such a warm, welcoming vibe in your videos, including all the cat footage. Good luck with your channel in 2024 🎉
To fix your curling issue , try crocheting a line of single crochet on the edge or just on the edge of the inside. To discover how the speckles happen in the yarn , check out chemknits. I am trying to resist the Halibut sweater because I will knit a cable sweater before I go back to color work. I love how you did this video because you reviewed your projects and the yarn as well as going over what didn't work for you. It wasnt about how much you could crank out.
I can’t believe I never heard of ChemKnits, love this! I’m also glad I didn’t bother with trying to crank out as many projects as possible. I don’t think my wrists or wallet could handle much more 😂
@@BreathingYarn ChemKnits is fun. I would rather see a small amount of items done at the end of the year instead of a ton of the same big chunky acrylic sweater stack that I never see a maker wear .
I love everything you showed! I'm a crocheter who's just getting into knitting, so it's really inspiring to see what you've made to wear. I also love how your crochet projects are all so functional. I've been thinking of crocheting a rug, too. And your cat is so adorable!
That’s so exciting! Good luck 🧶 I am so glad to be at least a little bit comfortable with both after a while and that was a frustrating process (sometimes it still is 😂) so I hope you have a fun time picking up knitting. It’s so worth it and it’s much easier after getting over the initial hump. And thank you so much for your sweet comment 💜
In place of your Witre Vest, I think you should look at the Eun Sweater by by November Knits! It has the same shape you were looking for but the bottom is fully ribbed. I plan to make that one this year!
I have made exactly one wooble and now I'm going down a rabbit hole and I'm so happy to have discovered your channel!! I loved seeing these, I love your vibe, and I'm so inspired by you
I'm really glad the algorithm showed me your channel! People keep saying they love your vibe and that is exactly what makes your videos so watchable. Its weird what happened with that ball of felici sock yarn! I have used it quite a bit, including that same colorway lol and never seen that happen. Strange...
I don't know if someone else mentioned this, but you could try the Strata Vest pattern, by Jacqueline Cieslak, it has the option of adding bust darts for a better fit. Congratulation on the great makes of 2023!
Bravo!!! You’ve accomplished and learned so much this year! I also really appreciate all the editing you’ve done for this video, it’s really nicely organized! I’m currently knitting on my own Halibut sweater - thanks to you. I’m obsessed. It’s such a good pattern. Also, I’m a big sock knitter too and my shoe choice has definitely shifted since making my own socks too. I used to only wear my Blundstone boots, now, I almost always wear my Birkenstock clogs - because I love being able to see my hand knit socks! I hope you have a wonderful new year. Looking forward to seeing what you get up to in future videos!
Have you considered doing bust shaping instead of short row shaping at the neck? Nicole at The Common Thread talks about this issue inher journey to become a knitwear designer. (Not sure which podcast but I think it’s in her design “I am No Man”. Also just, curious, do you make a swatch before starting the actual sweater to see if you like the fabric before you begin?
I’ve done bust shaping a couple times and always love the result! Also, I make a swatch about 70% of the time. When I don’t it is usually because I’m lazy lol
Love your vids so much! ❤ Also, do you happen to remember how many stitches you cast on for that truboo hat? It sounds like a great project and I've had some of that yarn kicking around that I had no clue what else to do with. 😅
@@BreathingYarn Thank you so much that helps a lot 😊 I'll do a little testing and see what needle works best for me. Keep up the great work! Your knits are always beautiful and your content is always entertaining 💕
Yeah, what is it about thighs getting cold? Like, I went winter camping twice this year, and I had my thermals and some layers and all the parts of my body were fine ... except my thighs! I'm more insulated there than I am in, say, the lower half of my legs, but they don't get cold like my thighs. It's bizarre.
Styling the pink and red sweater - I love it with the bleached bluejeans, do you by any chance own red trainers to match the red yarn? Would also work for the red tank top. Just a thought :)
I have no other red in my wardrobe except one other knit top. I think I’m at the beginning of a transition into more bright red in my closet. I can see some red trainers in my future
I think it’s called Harriet & Alice. I really love their selection! It’s slim pickings where I live for yarn shops, so I try to hit up yarn shops when I travel to see family. I should check out Knittin from the Heart next time I’m in town!
A fellow Minnesotan!! It’s a shop called Harriet & Alice. I have only been to a handful of yarn shops so I have a minimal point of reference but I really liked that shop!
Highly recommend looking into mosaic crochet. The gutu of that department is Tinna Thorudottir. She has a TH-cam channel. Love your channel. Love your vibe. Will watch every video.
You totally pull off cropped tops and high waist pants in a really adorable way. I love how it looks on you!
Thank you! Someone would have to work really hard to pull away my high waisted pants from me 😂

I love that idea! I need to just have people style me 😂

Thank you! That’s so kind of you to say 🥰
Every video you make is appropriate. If someone doesn’t like it, they only need to not watch it.

lol same, I can’t stand how chunky knits feel on my body. Waaaay too stiff for me!

Ouuuuu, good recommendation! I hadn’t heard of that one 😊
I just looked it up and I’m in love! 🥰
you're so funny and talented omg
Thank you 🥰
Love that velvet pillow - I see you are branching out a bit with color - awesome!

Keep going down the rabbit hole. It’s a party down here and everybody is invited!!!!
The striped pink top would be super cute with a mustard midi skirt
New knitter here, this inspired me😃
Yay! Mission accomplished ☺️ I love seeing what others are working on and I always find it so inspirational

I’m not giving up on that yarn! I really like self striping, it’s just fun. So I think I’ll buy another when I run out of sock yarn.
Also, thank you 🥰
I love the blue v neck on you! I think it is super flattering and now I want one!
Thanks! The pattern was really well written

I have to make another Halibut sweater! I’m also thrilled to see another knit sock/shoe combo lover!!
Wondering when we are doing to get the merry and pippin knitting a secret project for you
I’m wondering that too 😂

Of course! I casted on 120 stitches and held the yarn double. I don’t remember the exact needle size I used but it was somewhere between 3.35mm-4mm.

What is the yarn shop you go to in the Twin Cities? I’ve been to the Yarnery and Knittn from the Heart. I’d love to check others out next time I go.

Girly I'm in Minnesota! My LYS is 3 Kittens Needle Arts. What's the local yarn shop you go to?

I just subscribed to her channel! Thank you for mentioning her. I absolutely should dive into mosaic crochet. It’s so beautiful!
Ridiculous!....Show us everything!
