Great video, Isabella! Sock mending tip - whenever I finish knitting a pair of socks, I wind a small ball of the yarn and put it in a “sock mending jar / basket / etc. for future use. That way, I know where I can probably find some of the same yarn to use when I need to mend holes! I do this because I generally try to use larger amounts of leftover yarn in other scrappy projects! Just a suggestion! Loved how your sweater for your mom turned out, loving how your boucle sweater is turning out, and great job on mending your husband’s socks! Those are the two darning techniques that I’m most familiar with, also. Take care!
My favourite part of this video is the Fahrenheit to Celsius you added in there. So thoughtful. I don't think I've ever seen anyone do it so seamlessly while telling their story.
Loooooove the rambles, and before your insecurity thing I was thinking how gorgeous you are, so there. One of your funnest vids. All over the place, head peeping through the opening, the cat hogging the camera. Thanks for deciding to post this. Thanks!
I enjoy your videos so much so i loove long ones :) I feel very inspired by the way you talk about how you feel about your appearance. Because to others it is never as deep as it is to ourselfs! I‘ve had a talk with a friend about how she feels like i look good in every picture we take but she doesn‘t feel good about herself. But i feel the same when taking pictures with others, where i think my face is not symmetrical enough or whatever. So maybe we shouldn‘t bring ourselves down about the way we look because nobody will be as critical about our appearance as we are.
This is legit my favourite video of yours and I'll probably come back to this one again just to enjoy your company. The tangents felt like having a great chat with a friend and like I got to know you more! I really appreciated it, I know you can't but I felt seen 😂🤷♀❤❤
I have a habit of just like binge watching your channel because I just love it so much. But I always forget to actually like the videos that I’m watching. So I took the time to go back and do that. Your channel is the place I go to feel peace. ❤️
Yaaaaaassss for a long video! Great work on all the pieces :) My heart sank when you were talking about cutting into your socks. I'm glad it worked out in the end!
Just so you know I absolutely loved your 12 minute ramble 😅...you are truly authentic, and I do think we all feel that way about ourselves sadly. But you look gorgeous, so don't stress girl!
I absolutely adore your videos. I watch them while I’m knitting and it’s like knitting with a friend. Thank you for posting these amazing videos. You’re so down to earth and i really appreciate that. You’re like a breath of fresh air on this platform.!! ❤ love from Michigan.
This came at such a wonderful moment! I'm working on an all-over cable knit cardigan at the minute and I'm just.. so ready to be done. While watching this video I got 22% of the second sleeve done!!! Thanks for providing immaculate vibes to craft to! ☺️
I always appreciate when people share their dumb mistakes. It makes me feel less dumb when I myself make them. To know I'm not the only one ❤️ And I really enjoy watching your videos, it doesn't even matter that much what you are talking about. It's just cozy and fun 😊
Loved this style of video seeing the progress over time and how you are styling things. And thanks for the TH-cam recommendations for Tiffany and Hannah. I have now gone down a deep rabbit hole 😅
I absolutely love your little tangents, and as someone who worked on the arctic light sweater while watching, it gets better after you start the seed stich.
Pippin, you sweet sweet baby. I had to say goodbye to my black cat- my first ever pet as an adult- this spring. Missy, my beloved, had no thoughts in her sweet head, but she was so loving. And I feel so healed seeing both Merry and Pippin. Thank you for always letting them be as they are in your videos! Also, love working on my projects with your videos on. Remotivates me every time. Working on my first ever cardigan, and it's a vintage pattern. Because I just love to push the envelope, I guess??? But yes, it's good to make mistakes and just talk through it. Then get back to business.
Seeing you post this video has motivated me to pick back up my wip(I’m determined to finish it in time for my trip in a few weeks) but also the wedding ring is real! My hands swell up and my wedding band was hallowed out so the sides used to cut into my hand and so we were at the renaissance faire the other day and he bought me a sterling silver ring to wear instead and I never have to take it off now! We think it’s hilarious that I wear the cheap ring more than the original(still not expensive but definitely more than the ren faire ring).
This was SUCH a cozy watch! Perfect camera angle around 46 minutes. I love getting to curl up and share craft time with an internet stranger. It feels so 'body doubling' and pushes me to focus on projects instead of doomscrolling. I'm not a boucle girlie, so I can't relate to the obsession, but I do love a big squishy oversized sweater. One day I'll be brave enough to focus and start/work on an all over cabled knit. For now, the sleeves on my nightshade society are enough.
Enjoyed your new video. Your finishing wip videos always inspire me. The cumulus blouse looks so good. I love the color! Your repaired socks turned out great. You can be proud of yourself that you fixed the mistake to a point where the white heel part even looks intentional. 😅 I also appreciated the Celsius conversion. ☺️ I do definitely have days where I feel prettier than on other days - taking a shower often helps to cleanse my mind. Have a lovely week! ~Kat
I loved watching you this morning while I was waking up and knitting. You made me laugh many times and I needed that, so thank you! (Your kidnapping scenario was the best 😂) Your projects are all gorgeous and very inspiring. Thanks for sharing!
The music you put in at 1:08:40 roughly just triggered some wonderful nostalgia I didn't know was there. Thank you for bringing me back to Brazil for a minute 💗
@@BreathingYarn there’s so many good ones for you to find! Not sure how many of them you can use in your videos but wishing you the best of luck on your journey and hopefully you’ve had a chance to listen to some Saulo Fernandes too as he’s definitely one of my faves
On the feeling great about yourself/feeling like a sack of potatoes - to me it's actually so calming to know that it's all in my head. I'll put on a swim suit and go to the beach and know that even though I feel hideous, I look just the same as the week before when I felt great. And I still feel so bad, but it's not stopping me from doing things, and to me that's the main thing. Life happens no matter what you look like and I don't want to miss out just because I feel too hideous for the world to look at. So inspired to knit something up with bouclé held with something else. I really want a zipper vest that I can wear instead of a jacked, but bouclé only intimidated me so this sounds like the perfect plan!
I just love your videos! I love watching you work through problems. Thank you for being transparent and sharing frustrations as well as successes. I can't wait to see the bouclé finished as well as the all-over cable knit sweater. Until next time...❤🧶 p.s. I love your new haircut!
I had to jump on at the 9:02 mark because I have those exact same scissors!! They are literally right beside me as I work on my very first Chicken Scratch embroidery project. Also Hannah Alonzo is a brilliant deep dive kinda gal. Edit: 49:23 My wedding ring cost $225, and I had to buy it in a bigger size when I was preggers. I'm still waiting to wear my original one. But I totally agree. You don't need anything expensive to get married. My wedding dress cost less than my ring at $184.86.
Thank you for the warning! I get so frustrated with splitting yarns, so will avoid the bouclé! Wonderful, friendly video! I felt welcome into your space and you chatted like an excited BF! And I have those days too. Yep it’s your brain. To me you look the same gorgeous person. The comfort sweater is beautiful! Also I am coming off a year’s recovery from complete burnout. During which I found out I am autistic and adhd. Now I am finally rising again and laughing daily with my walking friend - which honestly was the best medicine for my introverted, isolating self. Weaving/knitting darning? You do you. Fibre is fibre.
I had to split this video into 2 nighttime routines 😂 I love the fit of the sweater for your mom! My goal for the coming year is to knit a pair of socks. I have crocheted some slipper socks, but I definitely want some thinner socks
I just found your channel a couple days ago and I’ve never subscribed to someone so fast! I’m a crocheter and I want to learn knitting and you make it look not as intimidating as I thought it was!! I’ve been binging your videos while finishing up a crochet sweater for myself.
I finished my arctic light sweater in exactly one month because I was seriously obsessed and did nothing else but knit. It really is such a captivating pattern since every row is so different. It was the perfect project for my specific flavor of ADHD!
Truly blessed by an hour-long WIPs video! I also have been watching Hannah Alonzo a lot this past week while either working or working on my own WIPs, you have excellent taste. I am primarily a crocheter who is just learning to knit, but you inspire me to want to knit so many socks!
I really enjoyed watching this while making my blanket. I love that you share your thought process and are honest with your progresses or frogs! Thanks for being you!! ❤
Really enjoyed the long video! Lots of crochet done! 😅 I have no idea what you said while pippin was on camera, she is so adorable! Your new haircut looks super cute on you. And i'm so sorry about your socks! It happens to the best of us😅. It's great that you could resolve anyway, though. ♥️
I put this on while I was working and now I'm going down a rabbithole of all of the projects I want to start. I'm usually a crochet girl, but you may have influenced me to try knitting again. I'm sure my husband will thank you as I'm attempting to find places for all of the yarn I will inevitably buy lol. Also, I got married with a $300 fashion ring. I've been married for 14 years this month, and my ring literally just snapped. I'll probably get it fixed eventually, but in the meantime I asked my husband to get me a new ring for Christmas, and found a place that does beautiful sterling silver CZ rings. I don't need a ring that costs thousands of dollars. I want something that's pretty and sparkly, but beyond that I don't care lol
the funny thing about when people say they feel insecure about their appearance on a particular day, is that to me they/you look literally exactly the same to any other day. Like to other people there is exactly no difference. Which is crazy!! Like it's crazy how we can look so different to ourselves but exactly the same to other people. And I guess that has helped me not worry about it as much
Such a good video! I love just hearing you chat and think about your projects (even the rambly bits)! Long videos are always appreciated. :) So many things I want to respond to, but comments can only be so long! I will say though, on the sock repair: I've done knitted patches without any reinforcement, and those have worked our really well! I used The Woolery's written tutorial and that requires no sewing (except ends), so much more approachable for me. Also, this is a suggestion for future socks -- I'm not sure what type of yarn you used, but I find that, especially now, my sock yarn needs to have some kind of nylon content to wear well. All of my socks without nylon have worn (repeated) holes, when I didn't know about fiber content. All of my socks with nylon have stood up for several years (and my husband really puts them through their paces)! This could probably also be avoided with a more durable fiber (such as BFL instead of merino), but I haven't done significant testing on that. /end rambly response! 😂
yay a bonus vid, and a long finishing wips one at that! Awesome shots of pipipn, could not take anything serious and was laughing my butt off. also really appriciate 47:17, 10/10 great vid that will def be rewatched :)
Yay I love long videos. The undercut looks great on you :D Tip for people with sensory issues with socks. Asymmetrical toetips make a huge difference. So you only decrease on the little toe side and keep the big toe side straight. Im buying not knitted socks with this toetip and I am loving them so much :D
So re:darning/ mending socks: I just learned that you can remove an afterthought heel and toe and re-knit them when they wear through!!! I'm so excited about this news. Idk, maybe you can just reknit on a new heel, depending on how you made them the first time?
Same! There are so many things I end up not making because I can’t quite figure out how a real person who isn’t in high school would actually wear them!
So many things to say... first, girl you are beautiful! I'm actually jealous of your confidence! Second, I also love Hanna and Tiffany, would recommend Cara Nicole, Gabi Belle, Mina Lee and zoe unlimited.
Isa! I highly reccomend picking up a titanium wedding ring. My partner and I have matching bands that have meteorite and rose gold plating. My total for both was under $100 and I love them. I personally wreck plating so we will be upgrading soon (my ring is now just titanium colored) but they are wonderful which still being beautiful.
I love your rambly knitting vlogs, this video is the comfort I need rn 🥹💓 these finish-it vlogs are sooo motivating & inspiring. I also love watching Hannah Alonzo & tiffany ferg and it made me so happy to hear you mention them. I think the cumulus blouse vneck is just canonically too deep, I dealt with that too and so did both my friends I buddy knit it with. one of my friends knit it with a smaller needle but it made her fabric cinch. next time I knit it I’ll probably make the o-neck!
@@BreathingYarn ahhh thank you!! I loved the color of yours/your moms too and I really loved all the ways you styled it in the FO reveal! every time I see your leg tattoo I’m like oooh she’s serving haha! 🥵🔥
@@BreathingYarn just got to your part about insecurities and I want you to know I always think you look so lovely & seem to really know your color seasons that complement your tones so well! but I also admire that you are so real & authentic, you don’t seem to polish yourself up before filming, you’re just yourself and that is so inspiring to me. I think it can be so hard to show yourself online and worry how others perceive us, but I think we are often harder on ourselves than others are - but the people that are hard on us are notttt our people!
You should try a silicone ring! They stretch enough to accommodate more swelling than a metal band and are usually $20ish online. I wear one while at the gym or for any event (hike, the pool, etc) where either my hands may swell or I'd be worried about damaging/dirtying my actual ring.
I have combined the Drops Alpaca bouclé with their fingering alpaca and quite quickly got used to knitting with bouclé yarn. I will definitely do it again. Now I need socks, but I hate knitting two of the same. Maybe I should look at the bright side: I too have really small feet.
I’m older so I love visible mending and unless I’m misjudging the dates on the videos I have seen, it also seems to be what y’all call “on trend”, but speaking from experience, weaving and duplicate stitch mend equally well. There’s no structural reason to use one or the other that I have noticed, do what you like. As long as you secure and protect the fibers, it’s fine.
It’s really nice to hear from someone with experience. I definitely liked the weaving method more from a process perspective and I love the way it looks.
My engagement ring is bespoke and designed by me, but because I went with moissanite and ordered from a Chinese custom jewelry company, it only cost $500. Similar rings for lab grown diamonds of the same size and clarity and with similar details (6-prong tulip, cathedral, half eternity pave) cost $5k+. I've had it for 6 years now and I still get unsolicited compliments on it. But the 6 rounded claw prongs snag things a lot, so I tend to only wear it when I'm going out. For my wedding band my husband and I got matching his and hers black tungsten brushed bands. I had done a raw sapphire ring for a while as my daily wear, but I find that I just want something smooth and unobtrusive because I just don't want to have to remember to be non-chaotic with my hands.
YAY i love your finishing your wips videos!!!!!! thanks for sharing the playlist, i've been in a music slump and i'm gonna try it out today :) that sweater for your mom is sooooo beautiful!
I love your creativity and the way you freestyle your design choices so much, but the real reason I’m commenting is that I’m obsessed with the Pippin camera angle ❤😂❤. My tuxedo kitty is sitting on my lap as I knit and watch your video!
Fabulous video!! I was moved to measure my own hand, and from that line to the tip on my tallest finger, it's 7.5 inches! I have freakishly long fingers, and that was the reason I got stuck playing the unmanageable bassoon at high school instead of the flute I wanted. 😂😂😂 We also cheaped out on the wedding rings! We figured it was the sentiment that matters, not the cost of the rings! Xx
That is too funny! I wanted to play the tuba but was told my hands were way too small (and I was too small lol) so I ended up on the French horn. The bassoon is crazy hard, that’s so awesome!
I love Hannah! I've been watching her videos for several years. She was pretty exclusively anti-MLM for a long time but the recent broadening of her content has been great. I'd never thought to compare her to Tiffany Ferg but it makes sense with the recent changes to Hannah's channel.
i love the haircut!! so cute!!! also the smart heart socks are such a good pattern, i figured out how to mod it for my feet and it’s easily my favorite pair of socks i’ve knit
I needed to measure immediately, because I also have tiny hands. Mine are 6,5 inches. Have you ever tried the Sockwonder for knitting socks? A lot of people don't like those tiny needles but I love them and I can finish socks so much faster using these.
I haven’t tried that brand but I have used some shortie needles for sock making and I like them. I should try those though because mine only has 1.5” tips and I’d like using one with a larger tip
You know what, I was going to ask if you'd consider making a supercut of all cat footage from your videos, but I realized it would be at least 1/3rd of your total runtime lol. Then again: 'd watch it.
This is such a great video. So many gems, most of all your cats are so incredible! That view of Pippin is so sweet. Your socks turned out so cute. And I'm excited to see how both of the sweaters turn out. Your tip about using a smaller needle on the purl side is genius. I've been on a journey to get my flat stockinette even for a while now. I've currently settled on just giving each purl stitch an extra little tug while carrying the yarn to the next stitch. It works, but isn't very smooth. I'll give your strategy a try. I'm curious, do you always go down a full mm? Thank you so much for the wonderful content!
I usually play it by ear when I go down needle sizes. Sometimes I go down 2mm in needle size, sometimes just 1/2mm smaller. I find that my purl tension is a little different with each yarn type. Going down 1mm is usually my jumping off point though. Good luck!
An hour video??? We have been BLESSED
I thought the same thing!!
I literally saw it and said YESSS!!
You never having eaten mango before is blowing my mind! Glad you enjoyed it (it is the best fruit)

Good luck on your blanket!
And I guess that has helped me not worry about it as much
(continued watching the video and realised you said this exact thing in the video)
Great minds think alike, right!?!
Loving the undercut - been rocking mine since 2009! Also, you are blessed with the cutest cats, mine are so aloof in comparison!
I got lucky with my girls 🐈⬛ 🐈⬛ 🥰
Now I want to make a giant fluffy sweater.
Pippin continuing to try to make the channel about her, lol. Clearly very sweet, and very demanding
I think everyone needs a giant fluffy sweater
Pippin's sleepy face !!🥺
yay a bonus vid, and a long finishing wips one at that!
Awesome shots of pipipn, could not take anything serious and was laughing my butt off.
also really appriciate 47:17, 10/10
great vid that will def be rewatched :)
Yay I love long videos.
The undercut looks great on you :D
Tip for people with sensory issues with socks.
That’s actually a genius idea!
the look at 47:15 is everything
I love the way you styled the crochet mesh top! I see everyone making one and could not think of any practical way for that to fit into my wardrobe.
Same! There are so many things I end up not making because I can’t quite figure out how a real person who isn’t in high school would actually wear them!
That boucle and merino jumper is epic and you look beautiful btw
Thank you! I am working on it now and am almost done with the body. It's so soft!!!!
Isabella, you will pry my fancy decorative scissors from my cold, dead hands! 😂
😂 I’ll think about it
I adore Hannah Alonzo :)
So many things to say... first, girl you are beautiful! I'm actually jealous of your confidence! Second, I also love Hanna and Tiffany, would recommend Cara Nicole, Gabi Belle, Mina Lee and zoe unlimited.
Are you just listing my favorite TH-cam channels!!! I just finished binging all of Gabis videos!
Right? I recently came across Zoe's channel and I'm obsessed!!
Cozy 1hr vid?! LETS GO🎉🎉🎉
Lessss goooo!
I had this playing whilst I sewed and my ears pricked up when I heard “Yvette said you’re a healthy healthy girl” 😅😂
😂 lol!
Thank you for the rec!! 💍
Enjoyed this video so much- was able to finish a lingering sewing WIP while hanging out with you 💙
That’s awesome! Anything fun?
@@BreathingYarn Yes! A pair of jeans I had to do the waistband for, which takes ages due to the topstitching and belt loops (not my fave bit lol)
About not spending on the wedding rings... Totaly agree!
The color of yours was so beautiful! If I make this again, I’m debating using a linen blend so I needed this reminder to be extra mindful.
Brazilian music!!! Sending love from Brazil sz
I absolutely love your hair cut and those sparkley boots!😄
I need to go out more so the boots can get some fresh air instead of collecting dust in my closet
Love Pippin getting her camera time! 😂
This was such a fun watch!! Thanks for taking us with you on those ups and downs :) I hope you can rest after finishing such a long video
I hope you feel better soon!!!!
Right before you started talking about personal perception and insecurities I was thinking how beautiful you looked!! Love your videos & personality
Thank you ☺️ you’re so sweet
Love Hannah Alonso, lol!
You should try a silicone ring! They stretch enough to accommodate more swelling than a metal band and are usually $20ish online. I wear one while at the gym or for any event (hike, the pool, etc) where either my hands may swell or I'd be worried about damaging/dirtying my actual ring.
Yayyyyyy this video made my sunday
Thank you for saying that 🥰☺️
your haircut looks amazing !! you look great :)
i’m having a good time watching your video while recovering from a hangover and drinking tea.
Tea and TH-cam is my most reliable hang over cure (and ramen)
I have combined the Drops Alpaca bouclé with their fingering alpaca and quite quickly got used to knitting with bouclé yarn. I will definitely do it again. Now I need socks, but I hate knitting two of the same. Maybe I should look at the bright side: I too have really small feet.
Thats a really great combo!
Aw man, I love Hot Fuzz. I quote it often but only my husband gets it.
Idk why but "Couldn't see him could I? I'm not made of eyes!” gets me every time 😂
My engagement ring is bespoke and designed by me, but because I went with moissanite and ordered from a Chinese custom jewelry company, it only cost $500.
Okay, that sounds absolutely fabulous!!! 💍
I cant wait to crochet to this.
YAY i love your finishing your wips videos!!!!!! thanks for sharing the playlist, i've been in a music slump and i'm gonna try it out today :) that sweater for your mom is sooooo beautiful!
Yay! Thank you!
Also love the lykke needles. I really enjoy making socks, but struggle with finishing any other kind of project.
I love your creativity and the way you freestyle your design choices so much, but the real reason I’m commenting is that I’m obsessed with the Pippin camera angle ❤😂❤. My tuxedo kitty is sitting on my lap as I knit and watch your video!
Hi tuxedo kitty!!!
@@BreathingYarn Nox says hi!
Xx
Oh, and I also married a 6ft4 strong man, so I fully understood what you were saying 😂
That is too funny! I wanted to play the tuba but was told my hands were way too small (and I was too small lol) so I ended up on the French horn. The bassoon is crazy hard, that’s so awesome!
Damn our hands ruining our preffered instrument dreams! 🤣🤣🤣 xx
Im hooked to your channel🎉
🪝
Me- tad over 7 inches 🖐️, that's so cute
You know what, I was going to ask if you'd consider making a supercut of all cat footage from your videos, but I realized it would be at least 1/3rd of your total runtime lol. Then again: 'd watch it.
Love pippen and your ramble about kidnapping made me laugh so hard xD
Good luck!
@@BreathingYarn Sweet! Thank you so much for the tip.
I love these videos!!
Thanks!!!
