    Good stuff and grats on your S. We're at the point where additional allocations are coming in but I still see a lot of those 1st batch of white with copper wheels (not my cup of tea) in stock. After speaking to a few dealers (socal region) I found one that initially wanted 15k over, a week later said they can do 10k, and it's now more like 5k. My guess is they over estimated demand of the car and in a few weeks or months it will be down to sticker.

    Thank you for touching on the inflation point. The fact is: All cars are more expensive than we would like thanks to the inflation over the last three years.
    According to one inflation calculator site I visited, if we could pay in 2020 money, the ITS would’ve been just over $45K…the current Type R MSRP, LOL. ITS’s would be flying off the lots at that price today. It ain’t fair, but it’s just reality.
    Also, happy to see you pushing folks to not pay markup. I, too, am waiting my turn to buy one at sticker price.

    Very good points ! I dealt with a greedy dealer when I purchased my first Honda and walked. Thankfully I found one who sold at msrp. But that was decades ago. I'm wondering if the shift away from sports cars and the extreme popularity of trucks and suv's is also a factor.

      Great thought, and likely the case! the sheer amount of SUVs that sell, make cars like this even more unique, driving the demand for them (and the price a dealer can sell them for) to new highs.

    My experience was way difference than your experience. I also signed up for the pre-sale, but for a $500 deposit. However, my Acura dealer has not been at all very communicative on what is going on. He told me absolutely nothing about how this was going to work. I had to specifically ask a question to get an answer. He never took it upon himself to keep me informed on anything. I gave him my deposit on May 14, but I didn't get my order in until June 20, because I was confused about what I was supposed to do. I ordered the Apex Blue with the Ebony interior and all-season floor mats. I still haven't received my car yet and I have no idea when it is due to arrive and I have not received any e-mail or text from my dealer since June 30 which was a whole month ago.

      You have to keep calling. Or even better go in person and talk to the salesperson that helped you out. They will take you a lot more serious if you go in person.

      @@spaceenthusiast5242 Yeah, maybe if I had gone into the dealership on May 14, I would already have it. The reason I keep putting it off is because it's about 50 miles away. I actually e-mailed Acura directly 7 days ago. They replied that they will attend to me but it might take awhile because they are busy. One rumor I heard was that they are only making 200 for the year. It seems like they would have sold 200 by now. So maybe I'm out of luck until next year.

    I have shopped all 7 Acura dealerships in the southeast about the 24 ITS and the minimum dealer Markup is 5K. (this is after first 200) And most dealerships require purchase with all the additional dealer installed accessories. I also contacted 6 Honda dealerships in the southeast about the 23 CTR and (WOW) the honda dealerships are a 10K min markup off the bat for the CTR!!! The one Acura dealership that did not require me to also purchase the accessories has one TEP allocated but not built yet. I put my deposit on the 24 ITS in TEP and will be installing a few select accessories myself.. This comes out to about 6K less than the 23 CTR without the accessories I will be adding myself later contrary to all the reviews based only on MSRP...

      Yeah I went to a Honda dealership a few months ago and they said it's a mandatory markup on all cars. I asked if they would go down any and they said no. Crazy

      People are dumb. It will come full circle eventually… unfortunately.
      If people all stopped buying cars all together, prices will go down and inventory will go up. But people make these emotional purchases and will fork over $80K for vehicles with a 72 month loan just to show off their car

    I didnt understand your math. Are you saying the type s is in line with what the integra type r would be in inflation adjusted dollars today or is 6k over what the integra type r would be today?

    • @MoneyShift
      @MoneyShift  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      In 2000 the Integra Type R retailed for $24,830. Adjusted for inflation that number is $46,600.
      What I am saying is that when Acura was initially developing this vehicle they were shooting for $46,000 price. Development of cars takes years, and in those years inflation ran rampant, unusually so, and Acura adjusted accordingly. 2021 > 2024 $46,000 adjusts to 52,000 and presto you get the price. That’s my math.

  • @brucebaraniak682
    @brucebaraniak682 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    ADJUSTED FOR INFLATION THE Integra should be priced approximately 41k, considering what an Integra Type S cost back in 2003 , which was in the 24 to 26 k range. Would love to have one but you salary has never kept up with inflation at these current prices. We will wait and by a used one in a few years .

    All the dealers in the DC/MD/VA area that I contacted are selling for 5k above MSRP. I put down a deposit with the largest supposedly #1 Acura Dealership in the world (Pohanka Acura) because they said they would honor MSRP if they had the car sitting on the lot and no one else was buying it at the market adjustment. They let me test drive it too. Great car but you’re right, it isn’t worth above MSRP. Fingers crossed that I can secure one at MSRP because I will not support market adjustments. Btw, thanks for using my comment!

    Folks stop bringing up the CTR as a cheaper alternative. CTR’s for sticker don’t exist. You are going to pay 55k at a minimum for a CTR. Ignore advertised prices because they don’t matter. Even the dealerships openly advertising markups aren’t being honest. Local dealer had on advertised to $50,845. When I contacted them, it was actually 55k..
