Build quality not good? Wonder if the Civic Type R has better build quality. I am wondering if I should get this car in the future or just save up some more and get my dream car, a Lexus LC500.
@GokuInstinct1 This car drives well! If you like the feel of great steering, suspension, body control? But the ITS. If you want more comfort, buy LC500. I'm not disappointed in the way it drives. I just felt Acura did go the cheaper route with production. You need to drive one. Put the windows a quarter way down, and see what you think?
I saw one on the road the other day, and I was shocked at how aggressive the looks are in the flesh. I was super impressed. I'm in the market for a sports car/sedan. I need to test drive one.
As a person that spent to have the front of their car PPF'd and the whole car Ceramic. If I re-did it Id have done teh WHOLE car in PPF instead. The Ceramic made it very easy to wash, but with all the chips ive gotten daily driving the front of the car looks BRAND NEW but everything past the front clip has chips in it and paint swirls now. My next car i'm getting FULL PPF'd no questions.
The seats are still a sore spot for me. They just don't feel special and also don't hold you in particularly well around corners. Imo there should at least be an option for re-skinned CTR seats. Gotta disagree about no sunroof as well. If this is supposed to be the luxury CTR that's not as hard-core, they could have easily added one. Especially as the cheaper trim has one. Ditto for the memory driver seat. It's still a good car, but it's missing features given its price point.
We don't go to race track with ours especially not a race car. On winding roads around lake superior and other winding roads in northern Ontario Canada it's perfect, even 160km/hr. Or on over 700kms trip to Toronto and back.
@TheKingkingg to each their own. In my experience, they don't hold you in all that well. Don't really feel special either. Just the same seats from the base integra with new fabric.
I wish there was an option to get a re-skinned CTR seat and memory seats should come standard (with the current seats.) However, I'm glad the car doesn't come with a sun roof. I've never been a fan of them, but I wouldn't mind if they were an option for anyone wanting them.
People say that this car is expensive but when I was looking into a type r before purchasing my type s , mark up for the Honda were pushing 20k . People were buying a 65-70k Honda civic !
My CTR is a rattle machine. Kind of annoying but have come to appreciate them. I may take some the plastic parts that rattle off and put some foam behind them or something to see if that helps.
You're 100% right about that front lip worry. This has been my first enthusiast car and I learned the hard way backing into spots is a lot safer. Also, the wireless car play issue has to do with an incorrect handshake between the phone and car. Only way to reliably fix it is to do a factory reset of the infotainment system and tell your phone to forget your car. You'll need to re-pair everything but it's fixed things for me. It's been several weeks and I haven't had a pairing error since.
@AutoEnthusedTV lol 😆 Agreed. They spent every dime on the drivetrain. Which is fantastic, but when you're just going to work and someone else has just gotten out of it, it can be a pain.
Lol how does it not have that. Cars are starting to worry me with these missing features and putting features we should have standard, behind a paywall. My 2013 G37 has memory seats.. 2013... Plus I can tell you this much, my G37 has better quality than my previous 2 cars. A 2017 Q50, and a 2016 F30 340i. Material, overall feel, seems like cars are going backwards.
There's no excuse for the lack of standard equipment at this car's MSRP. "You're paying for the drivetrain" doesn't wash when paying this much of a premium over the CTR...it should be loaded to the gills similar to a Golf R. I can spec a well equipped M240i at around $57k and it has a full climate control setup for a mostly useless back seat. The back seat area of the ITS looks like a plastic and vinyl covered trash bin. I want to love this car but Acura needs to get off their beancounting binge and refresh their baby STAT.
Gripe with the a spec is that there are memory seats but not memory window mirrors... Defeats the purpose of memory seats if you still have to adjust the mirrors
I wish they could give it a type r style special cluster instead of the HUD. even the updated 2024 tlx type S models have a different cluster design for sport +@@AutoEnthusedTV
Since it's built more for street performance (i.e.: Type S) and not racing performance (i.e.: Type R), the exclusion of a power moonroof is a dealbreaker for me. I can easily excuse it on the Type R, given it's mission but I wish the Type S was just a little more "Acura" than it turned out to be. $.02
I drive an MDX type S and it's very fun and comfortable drive. Only gripe I have is the rattle I get around the shift buttons. Saw one of these type S Integras in cali not to long ago on the freeway and boy it looks much better in person than on paper and screens!
My 23 type R rattle like crazy on R mode ! I learn to get use to it and now I actually like it 😂 it make me feel like I’m in a 1999 civic type R ek9. 🤭
Great video. Thank you for sharing. I want one still, even with its faults. However, I will not be spending MSRP + on is. Dealerships better get desperate, becuase the car crash is coming. I'll drive a used A-Spec for $25k before I spend 60k on a fantastic civic type R made in NA.
I feel you with the rattles. I own a 10th gen civic si and every time I drive in 1st gear I hear a distinct rattle coming somewhere from under/inside the steering wheel. Been there ever since I got the car, but still fun to drive 😊
While I still don’t like the price, I think that this car looks great. I really like the fact that it is a four door sedan, but with a sportier side profile and a six-speed manual gearbox.
Spoon rigid collar can help reduce your NVH. unwanted springing effect from the misaligned subframe really messes with overall dynamics of the car. rigid collar will help your suspension work more effectively
Appreciate the honest review. i needed to come across something like this as Im exploring different upgrade options from my current mazda3gt sport. Changed my mind away from the type s.
Test drove one. Rattles in the car were very there. Love the car...I hate rattles in all cars. I am assuming one can have them removed via warranty, but it is worrisome. Also, wish they had used a brembo rear caliper.
The Si of this same 11th gen Civic is the best car I've ever owned. Best all arounder. The little mods you did and things you wished Acura added like rhe front camera are also high on my list. I dislike rubbing my front lip on any thing
Agreed on 2 things for sure. 1. Driver memory on the seat and 2. Home link button on the rear view mirror would be great additions. No sunroof, never wanted one, glad there is no sunroof. Other than that, I'm very happy with the Type S. Well done, Acura.
8:18 I swear the split between people that say the seats are hard, only the passenger seat is hard, the seat bottoms are hard, and the seats are comfortable is insane to me. I don't have a Type S near me that I can go sit in currently but I've been trying to figure it out through all the YT videos LOL. It seems so 50-50 whether people think they're comfortable or not. Also, the ending! I fell in love with the performance red, the ITS looks so good in that color, but the red interior with LCM is hard to beat as well.
I honestly do not understand how these seats can be uncomfortable. They are no more "uncomfortable" than a basic Corolla. I find them to be supportive enough and wide enough to fit most body types. For reference I've sat in an Integra A-Spec and the seats are comparable with the Type-S being slightly more aggressive and firm but far from being uncomfortable. And yes, Performance Red had me rethinking my life decisions. Thanks for watching!
@@AutoEnthusedTVYeah its been mind boggling hearing the different opinions on the seats as even some of the big car reviewers say the seats suck or are great depending on who you watch, but I appreciate you giving your thoughts specifically. It means a lot more coming from someone that has actually put 9,000+ miles on it over the past year, that's really all I need to hear. Thanks for making videos on the ITS, I've watched all of them from you, some a couple of times 😅
@@AutoEnthusedTV @1BlinkwithAngels82 my daily commute it about 40 minutes each way. I am perfectly fine with the driver's seat--I like it actually. Yes, the bottom cushion is on the firm side. While I was waiting for them to get the paperwork together for the ITS at the car dealership, I kept admiring the TLX in performance red on the floor and rethinking my purchase. Gorgeous color. (But as much as I loved it, personally I would not actually get it. Too much of a standout, at least at my age.)
I bought the Performance Red, and I haven't noticed the seats as uncomfortable yet. I'll find out for sure on April 8 when I'll be driving for 3 hours to see the eclipse. The seat in my 2015 Civic Si was very uncomfortable driving for 3 hours. I wish that the subwoofer hit a little harder. I was about to change it out for aftermarket but I was told that it would be better to disable the active noise canceling/fake engine sound module first because it's specifically tuned to the stock speaker and would not sound right with the aftermarket speaker. Unsurprisingly, the dealer won't do it and I haven't found any videos yet for the Integra. I did find a video for the 2022 Civic, so maybe it's in the same location.
@@mikemccormick6128 @lionary Something I've read on some forums that I want to ask you guys about, do your cars have a lot of rattles/buzzes from the interior that annoys you? I feel like a lot of new cars have that now, unfortunately, but some of the stuff I've seen seems pretty obnoxious.
I am annoyed. They didn’t put the home link on the rearview mirror but I like your solution going. Definitely going to look into that great video. I just bought mine three weeks ago and so far I’m pretty happy although I’m still getting used to the suspension a bit.
Nice ownership update! Agree for the most part. As a previous FK8 owner and current Integra Type S owner I would add that the rear brake life is terrible. I mostly just daily drive the car no track use and your lucky if you get past 15k miles on the rears with light use. The rears are used when ever you go around a corner by the traction control which causes excessive rear pad wear. Would be nice to be able to easily disable this for normal driving.
There will be plenty of aftermarket parts for the integra type s soon enough. To include a limited slip dif which should help with your torque steer. That and suspension parts, also make sure your cars in aligment. I know my integra straight from the factory had an alignment issue which got fixed promptly by the dealership. But once more aftermarket parts come out the easier the issue will be to address
I'll get mine in March 2025. Blue is my preferred colour and I will get it PPF'D and Gtechniq Ultra ceramic coating. It's my last car of my working career and I intend on keeping it for quite a while. I wish it had a memory driver's sear, but I can live with that ommission.
Yo! Have one too. You don’t need a button to turn on the camera. Just put it in reverse and the camera will override that initial screen you referenced. Now you know! Even easier than a button!
Is this car suitable for kids in car seats in the back? I think I saw two in the video. I can deal with the lack of discrete air vents because they exist under the seats, but the lack of rear charging ports of any kind is a bummer.
Yes. The rear leg room is big enough for car seats. I haven’t tried rear facing car seats though. The lack of ports in the back is a bummer but not a total headache.
I think it depends on driver height and the rear facing car seat. I am 5'8" and have a Nuna Pipa Lite Rx behind my seat, which ends up as almost a perfect fit (less than 1" clearance). Admittedly the Nunas are on the lighter/smaller end of things, so if you're any taller or have a car seat that is bigger, that might pose a challenge.
Good question. Based on my daily driving needs, I still gas up about the same amount each week since we are a two car household. I’ve also taken this car on a 300mile drive and I’ve stopped for gas once each way. Once again, basically the same as my other vehicle. So most of my range anxiety was just in theoretical scenarios in my head.
@Auto Enthused, for @5:30 wireless apple carplay and your issue with wired carplay, i have same issue on my 2022 Mini Cooper S. It is reliable with wireless carplay but the wires setup messes it up. I now leave the connection to wireless car play and charge my phone not directly to usb anymore
@6:08, the speaker settings, i have kids as well and i admit i am happy that my mini cooper a provide me an option for shortcut that takes me directly to the submenu to move balance to the front speakers
You didn't mention anything about tire wear. How are those 30 series tires holding up after 10k miles? How many more miles do you think you'll get out of them? I'm more concerned about understeer as opposed to torque steer. How noticeable is that?
The gas tank is the biggest annoyance for me as I am struggling to get 200 miles to the tank, but like some others mentioned, the lack of front/surround camera, no memory seating, and no widescreen for infotainment (to take advantage of split screen Android auto) were also bummers.
Since the memory seat cutout is there, can you not order the parts from a Civic touring and somehow wire that up? It sounds easy, wondering if anyone has tried it? 🤔
Front seats should be heated & cooled. The passenger seat should be powered. Memory driver seat should be available. A 360 degree camera should be part of any “luxury” car.
@@davidhogansrevenge4604 …..why no auto transmission, sunroof or the hideous engine stop/start button too ? Exactly…these features add weight and cost defeating the purpose of this car.
Once you shift into Reverse that data sharing (don’t get me started on that topic) screen will immediately transition to rear camera. So that’s one wishlist item granted ;)
Basically all your cons about this car can align with mine, I also own an integra just a base model but I've modded it out to be comparable to the type S HP wise, and I got to say my biggest gripe is not having front camera, mind you I'm like 5'7 sitting at the max height possible and its still fairly difficult to see whether or not I'm to close to a curb, So to bypass this all together anytime I park I usually do it in reverse since the guidance is visually clear and little effort is required. as for another con, this is very miniscule but for a luxury car I figured automatic folding mirrors would be a feature in this car, considering I've got the A-spec + Technology pack. Wish the HUD was placed a bit higher but that might just be a me issue since I sit at the max height. Also WHY HAVE HEATED BUT NOT VENTILATED SEATS AAAAAAH THIS TICKS ME OFF, IT GETS SO HOT IN THE SUMMERTIME. And last but not least the flush of hatchback, there's a noticeable panel gap between the rear bumper and hatch that it bothers me every time I see it went to the dealership about it and they told me that's just how its designed and theres no way to fix it. Besides that car is a blast fun car to drive torque steer is definitely prevalent at higher speeds, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy to manage.
Every Integra Type-S post or video has a brigade of 'it should have this or that feature' when the reality is it's a driver's car with a bit of luxury not a luxury car that's capable. The only thing I wish these cars had is the performance gauges in the center screen like FL5s have. Nothing further. At 10k miles in 10 months not having any noticeable rattles either.
Couldn’t agree more. I miss the 360 camera in the BMW I came from most. The infotainment is incredibly slow to boot up from time to time. And I’m glad it didn’t come with a sunroof - I hate them.
lol why do people care about cameras so much ok tiny ass cars?! I have a ‘20 Raptor that doesn’t have a front camera or a 360 camera (I ordered it a la carte- no sunroof to leak either but has leather interior eh!) and that’s a vehicle that could actually use it, & not for parking- for off-roading!
@@MS-mr4zm I care about the camera because I’m continually parking in very tight areas of the city and it makes parking a breeze. Do I NEED them, no. But do I miss having them, yes.

@@AutoEnthusedTV awesome! I swear the more I research this car myself instead of listening to the masses the more I’m convinced this is the car for me.
Torque steer and tramlining make the case for awd and better tires. Also, global warming militates for a lighter interior as well as the option of a sunroof...
They’re both too different to compare. The G70 is more luxurious, the Type-S is more engaging. I didn’t really like the all weather floor mats from the dealer and planned on getting Tuxmats before I got the car.
I own an 07 TL Type S, 15 years now, and to this I look back at it everytime I park and get excited everytime I get behind the wheel. May I suggest owning and reviewing mini vans from now on?
The only thing I have an Issue with Acura Is It still feels like a Honda. Interior wise. Unlike Lexus, It feels like a Lexus. It feels like they’re their own brand but still Toyota. I would assume the Interior Is as Important as the exterior.
I definitely do not disagree. I think Acura was able to elevate the Honda brand in the early 2000’s but with the way Honda has been stepping up I think Acura needs to widen the gap a bit more in terms of actual luxury feel.

I have manual a spec same color. Love the color. Thanks for the vid.
Beaaauutiful shots! Great update
Love the interior mods
Have you noticed if carseats are damaging the rear seats at all? leaving major mark/indentation?
My civic has the same problem with the wired apple car play. It's extremely annoying.
How is the leg room in the back for kids + having a car seat in the back?
How did the small gas tank suddenly not become an issue anymore?
This is what i wish I have!
Planning to trade in my 17FK8 to the ITS.Is it worth it?I love my Type R
You didn't mention anything about tire wear. How are those 30 series tires holding up after 10k miles? How many more miles do you think you'll get out of them? I'm more concerned about understeer as opposed to torque steer. How noticeable is that?
Anyone know what’s special about the valve stems?
Ur nuts dude 10k miles on my tlx type s and only drive in sports plus the sound never gets old
I’m glad you enjoy it that much! Does the TLX Type S also have the pops and burble in sport plus?
@AutoEnthusedTV no if you shift in sports plus sometimes it will pop but I don't think it sounds like the integra
My son has a-spec manual, which I’m impressed with. He is pushing me to get s type, but is it worth $15k more ?
The twelve gallon tank, no sunroof, and no option for a Recaro type seat are my only gripes. Other than that, I love mine. 👍🏾
The gas tank is the biggest annoyance for me as I am struggling to get 200 miles to the tank, but like some others mentioned, the lack of front/surround camera, no memory seating, and no widescreen for infotainment (to take advantage of split screen Android auto) were also bummers.
I love the ITS. Makes family drive time as good as the 90’s. IMO
is it a decent DD?
Great review! I find my engine stay warm for a couple hours after driving. Is that normal?
Since the memory seat cutout is there, can you not order the parts from a Civic touring and somehow wire that up? It sounds easy, wondering if anyone has tried it? 🤔
Id get the Type R Civic for the better seats alone.
Crazy that it has no power passenger seats. Come on Acura!
Front seats should be heated & cooled. The passenger seat should be powered. Memory driver seat should be available. A 360 degree camera should be part of any “luxury” car.
Lol cameras on cars
Don’t drive an Aston Martin Vantage. You will be severely disappointed.
It’s not a luxury car
@@rl6210 so it’s from Honda’s luxury division but it’s not a luxury car?
@@davidhogansrevenge4604 …..why no auto transmission, sunroof or the hideous engine stop/start button too ? Exactly…these features add weight and cost defeating the purpose of this car.
What's with the tire noise while on the road? Is it the low profile tires?
A sunroof is needed maybe panaramic and leather version of the type r seats.
Once you shift into Reverse that data sharing (don’t get me started on that topic) screen will immediately transition to rear camera. So that’s one wishlist item granted ;)
I struggle with the Apple car play in the Tlx type S I usually do the same solution you do with the wire it’s just annoying tho😭
Interesting. Looks like a known issue
I love the Integra Type S but want one as my secondary vehicle.
Nice review, very informative
i still need to ride in this thang
I got a ‘18 mustang GT I wanna get this as a daily but idk if another manual should be my daily 😟
Congratulations, we are at just under 16, 000 kms between myself and wife.
good heads up on the rattles…. What phone mount is that?
I am strongly considering this car, but heard some reports about driver seat moving around. Have you experienced anything like this on yours? Thank you so much.
Not at all. I've never even heard of such issues.
@@AutoEnthusedTV awesome! I swear the more I research this car myself instead of listening to the masses the more I’m convinced this is the car for me.
OMG. I've watched your videos on the Type S. Just f'ing say you love the car! YOU DO!
No question about it
@@AutoEnthusedTV
Tire noise is probably my only gripe being 6000 miles in.
It's this or Audi rs3 to buy?
How’s gas mileage?
What company carries the suede console? I get mad that I have finger prints on mine daily...
They're called Overland Designs
Do you got splash guards on your Tyoe S?
It doesn’t have wireless charging??
It does but it’s not very good
Well done video 💯
Can I ask what you shot all of this footage on?
I used my Sony A7C
Would love an explanation on why I would purchase this over an Alfa Giulia 2.0
That would boil down to preference.
Umm… reliability ! It’s a Honda
Because this car won't leave you stranded!
Im planning to get a tlx type s i wonder how these two compare
I haven’t driven the TLX but I know for a fact that the backseat is tighter than the Integra. I do love the styling of the TLX though
The rear Tuxmats are supposed to tuck under the seats
Interesting. I’ll give it a try. Thanks for the info!
@@AutoEnthusedTV tuck it in across the entire length of the bench. Should be a clean install afterwards! Use the clips too if you haven't.
Closest I’m ever getting cause I’ll never be able to owning one
Can’t put adults in back seat due to lower sloping top
False. Adults fit fine in the back.
Torque steer and tramlining make the case for awd and better tires. Also, global warming militates for a lighter interior as well as the option of a sunroof...
Genesis G70 or this?
Also why didn’t you get floor mats from the dealer? Thanks for another great video!
They’re both too different to compare. The G70 is more luxurious, the Type-S is more engaging. I didn’t really like the all weather floor mats from the dealer and planned on getting Tuxmats before I got the car.
@@AutoEnthusedTV Thanks! Will have to test drive each.
Where did you get your steering wheel?
From Acura
Do you have a link for your phone mount?
Yes, it’s in the description box.
What color is it???
Liquid Carbon Metallic
What type of rattling noise are you getting?
Occasional buzzing sound in the driver’s side near the windshield. Couldn’t really pin point the exact location
@@AutoEnthusedTVaw never seen that before
What ceramic coating brand did you use? I went with Carbon force from CG, btw I also have no regrets 😆
Type S gang! greetings from Vegas🤙🏼
amazing video. super-useful
Rattles in a 50k car is unacceptable. My 2018 gti has zero rattles after all these years.
It’s all relative. I drove a 2020 Aston Martin and that one had a lot of things that were deemed unacceptable for a $100K car.
Only "One" regret? You just unloaded a whole laundry list.
Nitpicks aren't the same as regrets
If you know you know 🔥🙌🏼
I don't know, lol
I own an 07 TL Type S, 15 years now, and to this I look back at it everytime I park and get excited everytime I get behind the wheel. May I suggest owning and reviewing mini vans from now on?
Congrats on your TL but I don’t understand your joke. I love mini vans btw
