Your light-hearted enthusiasm is like a light in a thunderstorm. To be young, free, and willing to take on new adventures is exciting to see. There are not enough of you wanderers out in the world. A breath of fresh air, no serious downtrodden attitude, just a willingness to go forth. Confident, obviously intelligent and maybe a bit of naivety which keeps you humble. You two are not about to succumb to hesitation, and definitely an inspiration to others. Sounds like you know your way around and the two of you are young enough that it is the perfect home! Beautiful boat and a lot of work ahead. Remember, buying it is the cheap part ….. enjoy, have fun, safe sailing ahead.
G'day from Brisbane Australia .. you got my dream cat.. actually used to work for Seawind ... believe me you've got quality, grace, space and a very seaworthy boat... delivered many of their earlier models in all conditions.. treat her well and she'll look after you in every condition.. fair winds and following seas lovers...
Wow, congratulations on this video becoming your most popular video by view count in only 11 days! Crazy that your subs are up by 25% too. Awesome. I have been watching your channel for a few years, and wondered why it wasn't much more popular. While I love the overlanding content, it seems like sailing videos are where the viewers are. Again, congratulations.
I only wish I could give you multiple thumbs up for this! We have been with you since Elliot broke his wrist and this was like reminiscing a journey. With our sincere thanks for taking us along with you and we wish you many more great memories together.
You look so much more relaxed and happy to be in your new home than you were on your last adventure of sliding on those greasy roads in Vietnam. Don’t get me wrong, I loved that adventure, too, but your smiles were more through gritted teeth. Congratulations on your new home! I can’t wait to see what adventures you take us on!
I am so happy for you. You are doing what I always wanted to do. You inspire me. I wish you both love, happiness, love of the sea, fair winds and smooth seas.
I just found you and am excited to be at the beginning of your new adventure. Follow SV Delos who are planning to build a catamaran, so this is exciting to see what they are in for! Good luck from Switzerland!
I envy you both, starting off on a new adventure. I'll be with you vicariously on your trips wherever you go. Your new home looks amazing and certainly well equipped to take care of you in all conditions. Stock her up, clean her up and begin the journey of a lifetime in your new home. BON VOYAGE!!!
You guys ever need a water or land pit stop along the Panhandle, you know you've got a spot on Cape San Blas. :) Camper is usually vacant and I even have keys to a spare vehicle if you're coming by boat!
I watch a lot of TH-cam and it’s rare that I find a new channel that I enjoy. You guys have a really carefree/fun attitude and watching your video was really enjoyable to watch. Felt confident you would’ve had way more subscribers..feeling very early🙌🏻 Looking forward to following your journey!
Speed sensor = transducer. Baptism by fire…awesome! Since you are a sailing channel now, you need to know the formula: any future bottom paint episode requires footage of the painful prep work…powerwashing, scraping, sanding, filling, sanding, taping, cleaning, etc. so we can revel in your boat-work cred. Awesome episode! 😀⛵️😀
As a former user of those 12 volt coolers at Walmart I have a warning! Those cigarette lighter plugs ins WILL OVERHEAT with constant use. When using those frig/freezer 12 volt units you are better off using the household plugs that come with it. Check those plugs regularly.
Ah, what the heck. What's one more channel. I'm subscribed to literally many dozens of sailing channels on youtube, and yep, all the top ones and some obscure smaller channels, which I have to say are often times more entertaining than the top channels are. So, I might as well be subscribed to your channel as well. I am always interested in seeing how newbies start out and where they take us. So, a couple of rules. Don't be afraid to show the boat work, because a lot of us old farts like to watch how you guys fix things, then there is one other thing that does kind of disappoint me a little and that is the lack of stormy weather on film. And no, I am not saying you should be filming while it's blowing 40+ knots and you are at the helm trying to stop the boat from dragging. Heck, I wouldn't even think of a camera in that situation. I am just talking about the heavy rain, thunder and lightening, you know, the typical stormy wet days and nights that keep you stuck on board. Hardly any channel will put that on film. Yes they put a few seconds on and then switch to a bright sunny day and the next activity, because they think no one wants to see the inclement weather. Well, I know I do and I know many others like it too. So don't be afraid to put some of that on film too. Gosh, just put a go pro out and let it run till the battery goes flat, then add that film into an episode unedited. Just warn us that it is raw and I can tell you that you'll get a lot of likes and people asking for more of the same. I wish you both the best with your new home and can't wait to see where you go. By the way, I'm an Aussie, so it would be interesting if ever you decide to sail that boat back to where it came from.
Congrats!! Welcome to a huge learning curve! Lol. Been there, done that. 1: Nigel Calders cruising handbook. It will keep you ALIVE. 2: 406 EPIRB - register it 3: Promethazine- sepository. Get at first non US stop. Stops sea sickness in 30 min. STIFF sails or replace them. They will get blown out offshore. Extra assm or spinnaker. Fair winds!
I wish you both good weather and safe travels. You're doing the right thing by traveling the world while it's still possible. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
Your happiness is infectious 😄 Congratulations. I crew on 1260s but never seen a 4 cabin version, nice. Instead of getting a TV, get yourself one of those little projectors (like Tulas). Looking forward to your adventures.
Looks fantastic! Also as someone that works in the nautical field, it makes me feel good hearing Tim say “lines” instead of rope. Can’t wait for the next video/ adventure.
Awesome boat she is beautiful. It’s awesome. What you guys are doing I’d love to be able to just pack up and go adventure on my boat. Hope to see more of your videos be safe out there.
Hi. Your excitement and enthusiasm is incredible. Hope you can maintain it as the adventure evolves. Both the seller and you folks prove the old saying, the two happiest days in boaters' lives are the day they buy their boat and the day they sell it. The best part (in my experience) is that the learning never stops. Enjoy the ride.
Congratulations to you guys. What an absolute joy to watch you guys go for your dreams. You are an inspiration. We are only here for a limited amount of time. Might as well make the most of it.
Can't recommend enough - Dan and Kika's channel, Sailing Uma and Jason and Nicky's channel Gone With The Wynns to help you along on your new journey. This is my first time watching your channel, so I am not sure of your experience level, just wanted to suggest them. New Beginnings are *such* fun. Congratulations.
Congratulations on your purchase! Most people choose the starboard side on a catamaran for the master berth. You'll love the sailing community. Fair winds and following seas.
Congrats she looks amazing .... it seems monstrous for whatever reason? Subbed up looking forward to her getting all cleaned up and eventually the sailing adventures to follow! 😊
I just found your channel today and I've watched several of your videos on you 'new' boat. So excited for you! We plan to do the same in a few years and I wondered if you plan on making a video (or 10) about the boat buying process. Considerations, costs, resources, etc. I've heard insurance and financing are some of the bigger hurdles. Hoping you can share about your experience so we can have some updated (post-covid) information about how it all works. TIA!! I'll keep watching. Cheers!
Congratulations . You have taken the step that most people want to take , but are too afraid . Some one said below , that this channel will take off . Hey John, I grew up in San Juan Cap and we'd head over to the Isthmus from Dana Point often on my parents boat. We hope to sail this boat into Dana and anchor near where the Pilgrim once stood and I went to camp as a kid. Cheers and thanks for coming along. Tim
Congratulations...... EXCITING STUFF!. Do it while you are young and able to enjoy it to the fullest. Now, a new sailing channel to keep up with. Can't wait to delve into the finer details of your beautiful sailing vessel; the engine(s), rudders, electrical, instrumentation, etc etc. You both seem very ambitous as well as quick studies. Man, LET THE ADVENTURE BEGIN! I can't wait to follow along.
Congratulations. I follow a couple others Seawinds, Ruby Rose and Tula's Endless Summer. I love the 1260 and sounds like you got yourself a great boat. There is a Dutch company Finsulate that is wrapping a boat to replace antifouling paint saving the planet, would be so cool to hear you looked in to that. Rik Breur the founder has such a cool story for his inspiration.

Such a lovely boat! Most of your power tools might be for both 110/220 volts, then you just need new plugs 🙂
Happy to join you on your travels as being born and bred Scottish I LOVE videis that feature sun, sea & sand - but especially SUN !😊
There is a Dutch company Finsulate that is wrapping a boat to replace antifouling paint saving the planet, would be so cool to hear you looked in to that. Rik Breur the founder has such a cool story for his inspiration.
Congratulations you two! One of the two best days of a sailor’s life! ⛵️Can’t wait to see where the journey goes. 👏
