    OK Chad because of you I just ordered the exact set up that you use in this video. I also have the exact car same color too. You certainly make this project appear to be doable. Thank you very much. . . .nicely done. I love my Vibe and have decided to do some upgrades rather than get a new car. I think the Vibe might be the greatest car ever made.

    You did not use a radio kit to get a clean install, and fill that space you're seeing, and you forgot to connect the parking brake wire or install a bypass for it.

    Nice overview of the process Chad! This is a simple takeout and put in. I’m about to put in my second Pioneer head unit and just wanted to refresh myself on the details. Everything was as I remember. I might add to other vibe owners that you will be STUNNED at how much better the sound is just with the factory speakers. The problem has been the factory radio. Splicing the harness wires is the hardest part which was not shown however is as he described, just match the colors. This is where a mistake is easy to make, having a loose wire will drive you crazy with popping or a on/off /on/off situation. So take extra care and do it right with solder and shrink wraps, please. And may I say my vibe has 330k miles on going strong with no problems. The odometer stops at 299,999. So I’m on my second odometer from a junk yard ($20), if you didn’t know!

    1:21 in my radio installation I disconnected that wire, ended up breaking the clip and not being able to reconnect it. It does nothing as far as I can tell, haven't noticed anything different in operation of the buttons on that panel
    also I only had one harness on my radio (03) but it had two ports for it, and I had to use some vice grips to remove the antenna because holy crap it was tight
    I also used a different bracket since I ordered from crutchfield, and they included a bracket with a faceplate and everything. It did require a bit of trimming but no big deal

    • @Stonerolog1st
      @Stonerolog1st 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That goes to the parking brake if you so want it to but to get it to work its a timed delay on off on, but on mine (technically illegal) you can get a bypass that connects to the blue remote wire and back to the green the yellow on the bypass is unused unless you use an Alpine

    • @user-mp3fj6xt9w

      The 2003 Pontiac Vibe did not come with a rear subwoofer and the premium package was only a 6-speaker option. The rear sub was only introduced in 2004. I ended up having to bypass the factory amp as the new stereo had one built-in and purchase some nice crossovers for the tweeters. Now the car is amazing with Apple CarPlay and Siri. Hopefully this guy had a 2003 Model and not a 2004 or later with premium audio.
